Nothing really eventful happened after Mrs, Norris's petrification until the first quidditch game, Gryffindor VS Slytherin, where Draco Malfoy made his first appearance as the Slytherin house Seeker. He had been chosen for his talents on the pitch and not because his father had bribed the team into allowing him in, like a lot of people assumed, it just so happened that the Slytherin Quidditch Team members were all from rich families and had gotten Nimbus 2001s.

The game had gone well, except for the bludger that seemed to be following Harry Potter and had managed to break his arm causing the boy to end up in the hospital wing. Unfortunately, that same day, Gryffindor first year Colin Creevey had been petrified when he had snuck out to see Harry in the hospital wing, even though a lot of the purebloods had teamed up to help protect the Muggle-born students. This event, however, solidified the need for school unity, and because of this all the purebloods and half-bloods came together and made sure to always be with Muggle-borns at all times, protecting them as much as they could.

It also spurred the incompetent DADA professor, Gideroy Lockheart, to start a duelling club, managing to enlist the help of the dower Professor Severus Snape. 'The Alliance' members had all made study groups to help each other study and advance, and had made their own duelling training group (where the most competent duellers in their group taught the others and then they'd go up against each other), so they all knew how important the skill was but thought that the club would not end well, and how right they were. While the duel between Professor Snape (an acclaimed duellist with multiple awards in the art) and Professor Lockheart (who most of the student body knew was a fraud) was funny, the duel between Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy had not ended as well. While Draco, a junior duellist who had been training with his father and godfather since he was young, had summoned a snake to distract Potter and secretly try to see if he really was a parselmouth, the snake had instead tried attacking his friend and fellow Alliance member Justin Finch-Fletchley. Even though this event did confirm that Potter was a Parselmouth, it also publicized the fact and made people believe that Harry had tried using the snake to attack Justin, thus starting the rumour of Harry Potter being the Heir of Slytherin.

It, unfortunately, did not help that Justin and Sir Nicholas were both petrified the next day and had been found by Potter first. While The Alliance tried to defuse the situation and discourage the rumours, the facts were starting to point to the direction of what everyone believed. Harry Potter and Ron Weasley (mostly Ronald due to his bias), however, thought that Draco Malfoy was the Heir of Slytherin and had enlisted the help of Hermione to brew the polyjuice potion to impersonate his colleagues Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle to get him to spill what they thought was the truth. While Hermione knew that Draco wasn't the Heir, as she'd been friends with the boy for a while and knew he wouldn't do all of this even if he was the Heir, she couldn't tell them that though, so she followed along with their plan. She ended up in the hospital wing and needed healing for a day. The next day, she attended a meeting of The Alliance, where she explained everything that had happened to her friends.

"Harry is getting desperate to prove his innocence. They even suspected Draco, sorry for the spying by the way." Hermione said, apologizing to the boy she had never expected to be friends with but ended up being one of her closest friends. The boy in question waved off her apology, knowing it wasn't her fault they had spied on him.

"This has been going on for far too long, now we lost one of our own to the petrification spree." Lynette said in determination, gesturing for Daphne, who had been assigned the task of researching the Chamber with two of the members, to take the floor.

"I've been doing research on the chamber alongside Hermione and Hannah and we found something interesting. It seems that the chamber was previously opened in 1942 with one student dying because of its opening. It was never found out who had opened it, although Hagrid was suspected of killing the student as he was found harvesting a dangerous creature at the same time and that was why he was expelled from the school. The head boy at the time, Thomas Riddle, was the one who had discovered Hagrid and had gotten a trophy for Special Services to the School. It was decided by the school that the creature who had killed the students, Myrtle Warren, was the Acromantula Hagrid was raising, not a Basilisk as we suspect."

"When we found that the student that was killed was Moaning Myrtle, we went to ask her how she died." Said Hermione, continuing where Daphne left off. "She then told us the story of how she was bullied, had hidden in the bathroom and had suddenly died after seeing a pair of yellow eyes, which practically confirms our guess of it being a Basilisk."

"We then did research on this Thomas Riddle and well…" Hannah said, trying to finish the story but hesitating.

"He's the Dark Lord Voldemort?" Lynette said questioningly, smiling lightly at the surprised looks on everyone's faces. "What? My parents have known this fact for a long time. It easy to find if you look at the Slytherin family bloodline and family tree. He's the son of Merope Gaunt, who was the almost squib descendant of Slytherin through the Gaunt line and a Muggle named Thomas Riddle."

"The Dark Lord is a Half-blood?!" Draco said, shouting in shock at that. All the Slytherins whose parents were Death Eaters seemed surprised as well, as their parents had been very adamant on the importance of blood purity.

"Yup. Which is why it's so ironic, don't you think." Lynette said, smirking cheekily at their faces.

Fred and George Weasley laughed loudly at her statement, which caused a round of laughter to go through the group. It had been such a scary year so far that a trace of laughter was more than welcome. Everyone slowly quietened down to continue their discussion.

"But then who would have opened the Chamber now, since You-Know-Who is dead?" asked Cedric, drawing thoughtful looks from the gathered.

"Ginny Weasley has been acting weird lately." Luna Lovegood (the only first year in their group and their newest addition after Lynette had gotten to know the girl better) said, drawing everyone's attention to her dreamy expression.

"What do you mean, little moon?" Draco, who was Luna's cousin, asked her, calling her by the nickname he had had for her since they were young.

"She's been quieter than normal, always looking around her like she was doing something wrong and was scared of getting caught, and always has her diary clutched in her hand."

"What diary? Ginny hasn't had a diary since she was six." Fred said in confusion. He would know if she had a diary as he was the girl's older brother and was the reason why she stopped using a diary in the first place, as he had pranked her using her old one when she was six. George nodded to his brother's words, confirming the statement.

"I don't know, but she's been using one recently and is always writing in it."

"You wouldn't have said this without a reason, would you Luna." Lynette said, getting a dreamy smile from the snowy blonde in return. Lynette shared a look with Draco at that before nodding her head in determination.

"Alright. It seems that Ginny is important in this. I want someone to have eyes on her at as much as we can. I know this might be a little extreme but if we don't capture the culprit soon, another students might be petrified, or the next time might be worse." Everyone nodded at the statement and started making plans on watch schedule, it seemed as though they might have found their culprit.

"Do you really think its Ginny though?" George, who was always the more sensitive of the twins, asked quietly with sad eyes.

"It might not be her, or she might have been threatened to help the Heir, or is under the Imperious Curse. We don't know, but we need to find out about this and fast."

And so, for the next week, someone of the Alliance was usually found around Ginevra Weasley, and they all noticed the same things that Luna did. The girl wouldn't engage in any conversation more than two words as answer to any question specifically directed at her, she was always looking around her with suspicion and a hint of fear, and she was constantly writing in a black diary.

One day, while Draco and Luna were on 'spy duty', they saw her go into the girl's bathroom on the first floor, which was known for being haunted by the ghost of Myrtle Warren and so was always empty. They silently followed her into the bathroom, where they saw her throw the diary into a bathroom and come out in tears, she was so hurried and incoherent from her tears that she didn't even notice the two blondes as she left the bathroom.

The two shared a worried look before they went into the bathroom stall the red-head had just exited. They saw the diary laying on the floor surrounded by toilet water. Draco used his wand to clear the water before he went to pick up the book. He turned it in his hand and came face-to-face with the name of the diary's actual owner.

Luna and Draco found themselves staring at the words 'Thomas Riddle' written in silver ink on the cover of the diary.

"So this is the reason for all our problems this year?" Daphne said in exasperation, sharing an annoyed look with Hermione.

"Apparently so." Lynette said quietly as she cautiously opened the diary, to find it empty.

"It's empty?!" Blaise, Theo and Hermione said in sync, even going as far as rolling their eyes at the same time, causing those around them to laugh quietly.

"Should we write something in it then? Since Ginny always does." Fred suggested, handing Lynette a self-inking quill.

"Well alright." She said quietly, taking the quill and writing a simple 'Hello'.

'Hello'

"Oh My Lord! It writes back?!" Lavender Brown, the appointed head of the Gossip Pack, exclaimed loudly in shock, as others gaped at the black diary, and Neville squeaked in fear.

"Oh this thing is definitely enchanted, I can feel the compulsions trying to get me to continue writing and the dark magic seeping from it." Lynette said, eyes looking calculatingly at the thing in front of her, it was quite vile if she was being honest with herself, as it defied everything she had been taught about magic and its beauty.

"If this is the cause of the petrifications, then we should burn it and get on with our lives." Cedric said in determination, looking at the journal in a mix of disgust and fear.

"I don't think it can be destroyed that easily." Rolf said quietly.

"I have an idea, but what I'm about to do does not leave this room. Am I understood?" Lynette said seriously, giving those gathered a look that made them all tense up and say "We swear on our magic" which was the most powerful oath one can give.

Lynette nodded to herself, waved her wand around the room to conjure a secrecy ward that would not allow anyone in the room to speak of what happened to someone outside it, and no one would be able to see the events through legilimency. She then took a deep breath and allowed the true form of her magic to emerge. She started whispering quietly under her breath, pointing her hand towards the diary. Her eyes glowed a deep purple colour, as they were wont to do when she was using a dark spell from her family's grimoire. What no one knew about her family was that they had descended not just from Merlin, but Morgana as well, as they had both gotten married in secret, creating a Grimoire for their family that joined both Merlin's light spells and Morgana's dark incantations. When Lynette was using a spell created by Merlin, her eyes, like all her family's, would turn a golden colour, while they would turn a dark purple when using a spell of Morgana's.

And so, she used a spell Lady Morgana had created to reveal a magical item's secrets, learning all there was to know about the diary that was in front of her.

"This thing…is an abomination that needs to immediately be destroyed." She said in disgust.

"What did you do?" Daphne asked in confusion, looking at their unofficial leader in both awe and shock.

"I used a spell from my family's Grimoire. It reveals the secrets of a magical object. And what I found about this thing is…" Lynette explained, disgusted by what she'd found from the spell. "I do know how to destroy it now though. But first, we need to find out where the chamber is, and how to get rid of the basilisk."

"And how are we going to do that?" Susan asked, raising an eyebrow sceptically.

"Well…we could ask the diary, since it probably already knows." Cho suggested quietly.

"Would it even tell us?" Neville asked hesitantly, not having the least bit of trust in a talking book.

Lynette took the initiative then, and started writing in the diary in her cursive handwriting.

'Thomas Riddle, please tell me where the chamber of secrets is.'

'And how do you know my name?'

'It's written on the diary's cover'

'Right…then it is not very fair for you to know my name when I don't know yours'

That made Lynette pause, she was hesitant to give the diary her real name but also did not know if she was comfortable enough to give it a false name.

The others noticed her hesitation, so Blaise suggested a simple compromise. "Why don't you just give him a nickname? Lyn seems good enough."

That made Lynette smile in gratitude at her friend before nodding in agreement.

'Well if you must know, it's Lyn.'

'Well Miss Lyn, you asked where the chamber was, but how do you know I know of its location?'

'Well, as the person who I suspect to be opening the chamber had this diary with them at all times, and I know you descend from Salazar Slytherin.'

'And how would you know I am descended from Lord Slytherin?'

'You ask a lot of questions, but I know because my family owns a lineage book on all the pureblood families in England, like all pureblood families do.'

'Ah, and you searched for me in this book and found my relation to Salazar Slytherin.'

'Yes'

'Well, I will tell you where the chamber is, if you answer a question of mine. And I'll tell you how to open it, if you answer another question of mine.'

Lynette thought about this, but knew there was only one answer to give, because the lives of her fellow students were at stake in that moment. The whole time, the members of 'The Alliance' were just observing the conversation between Lynette and the younger version of the Dark Lord, waiting to see what will happen.

'Fine' Lynette wrote reluctantly.

'How are you able to break through my enchantments? They are very strong and I have not met someone who could break them until now.' The question shocked Lynette, it seemed as though she had underestimated Thomas, which she now knew she shouldn't have; he was The Dark Lord after all, even if this version of him seemed to not have become Voldemort yet.

'I am wearing a family heirloom that stops all malicious enchantments from affecting me, including your Confundus charm and the magic leech you wanted to attach onto me.' That made everyone around her gasp, as they hadn't been aware that the diary had been trying to suck her magic.

'Well, that is… I have no words to respond to that except a well done to whomever had enchanted the pendant, and yourself as well for recognizing the spells. The entrance to the chamber of secrets can be found behind a sink in the ladies restroom on the first floor.'

'And how can it be opened?' Lynette wrote, face-palming mentally for her lack of forethought, forgetting that Moaning Myrtle would have known where it was since she was a victim of the creature.

'Well, you need to answer a question of mine first. Has Lord Voldemort been successful in his endeavours?'

'I…To be truthful with you, no he was not. When the Dark Lord first emerged, his goals attracted the support of a lot of people from different backgrounds. People wanted the maintenance of magical traditions and our culture and etiquette, and they wanted closer connections with the muggles while also maintaining our anonymity and separation. Your ideas on bringing in those magicals from muggle families early were very well received, and people wanted to see these plans implemented. But as years went by, you, as in Lord Slytherin or Lord Voldemort as you decided to be called, started losing your sense of morals and well, you started losing your sanity as well. Slowly but surely, you lost sight of what you had really wanted accomplished and instead of approaching the problems politically, and introducing your plans, you started a bloody war where a lot of people died. Instead of wanting muggleborns to be introduced into our world early and to get Purebloods to support them, you spread a plan of killing all muggles and muggle-born. Your insanity became so bad, that you started torturing and killing your followers, and instead of gaining respect from them, they followed you out of fear of what you'd do to them and their families. You went so far as to go and kill a toddler and his family, which caused your downfall in the end. Your fear of the inevitable caused something worse than death to happen to you.'

The diary stayed quiet for a bit, apparently processing Lynette's words, which made Lynette think that she might have gone a little too far, but she couldn't bring herself to care about expressing her true opinion on the…enigma that was Thomas Riddle.

'…There is a snake on the tap of the sink that is the doorway. You'll need a parslemouth to open it though, as it has a parseltongue password.'

'Thank you.' Lynette wrote to the man, trying to express her gratitude through the pages. Everyone cheered at the news and began making plans on how they would take care of the snake.

'You're welcome. And for all it's worth, I'm sorry for what my future-self did and what he became. Did you…did you lose someone to his war?'

'I…' Lynette paused, as everyone around her became a little emotional at the question. Most of them had lost someone to the attacks, whether it was a relative or a parent.

'My aunt, her husband and her brother-in-law. They…their house was invaded by fifteen of Voldemort's followers, they fought as much as they could but were outnumbered in the end. Almost everyone in Wizarding Britain lost someone during that war, it's why we're trying so hard to stop a repeat of it happening again.'

'I'm sorry for your loss, truly.' Everyone in the room could tell the - spirit? - was remorseful.

'It's not your fault.'

They said their goodbyes after that and Lynette closed the diary before admitting quietly "Well, there's only one thing that we can do now."

"So you need me of all people to open the chamber and what exactly, help you kill a Basilisk?" Harry Potter asked, confused by the sudden request from his best friend Hermione and a third year Slytherin he had never formally met before.

"Look Heir Potter, I'm only asking you to open the chamber as you are the only Parselmouth at Hogwarts. You're an unexperienced second year, I'm not asking you to kill the damned thing." Lynette said, before pausing and thinking over something. After a moment, she came to a decision. "I'll tell you about your family history and explain everything to you that no one told you. Your position in our society, your duties as Heir Potter, I'll even explain your family tree and try to tell you some details about the night your parents died. I... I know this should have been explained to you when you first came to the school, but no one has bothered to, and while it's not my duty to tell you all of this, I'll do it anyway. You need these lessons and I need you to open the chamber. Call it an exchange of favours between the Houses of Ambrosius and Potter." While Lynette didn't really specify what all of this entailed, she could feel Hermione beside her gasp in surprise at what she had actually meant by her words, slowly inducting Heir Harry Potter into 'The Alliance'.

'I- I would've done it anyways, I didn't really want anything in return but…thank you." Harry said sincerely, feeling grateful that he'll finally stop being ignorant to the Wizarding World.

"You're welcome." Lynette said, surprised by the boy's words. "Well, first lesson, your name isn't actually Harry Potter, its Harold James Sirius Potter. Harry is a nickname I believe, and people just adopted it as your name."

Her words made Harry –Harold- gape in shock. He hadn't even known his full name and people had just left him thinking his name was Harry.

"Um, I-I didn't know that." He stammered quietly, bowing his head slightly in shame.

"And that's okay, the people who had known your parents should have told you, but they didn't. And that's a shame they have to carry with them, as they didn't honour your parents' memory by making sure their only son knew his way around the magical world." Lynette's words seemed to have ignited a flame of anger in Heir Potter, as his emerald eyes darkened in rage. "But I'll explain everything later, in the lessons I'll plan for you. For now, Heir Potter, I need you to follow us."

Harry nodded and quickly followed the two witches. As they moved towards the girl's restroom on the first floor, Harry continued asking questions about his family.

"Why do I have two middle names?"

"No idea."

"Who's Sirius?"

"Your godfather."

"Why do you call me Heir Potter?"

"As you are the current Heir to the Noble and Most Ancient House of Potter, and you didn't give me permission to call you by your given name."

"You can call me Harry."

"I'm Lynette then."

"Then, Lynette, are there titles for people other than Heir?" Harry was curious, he had never had someone to answer his questions and decided to use this opportunity fully to his advantage.

"Yes, there is Master or Miss for the siblings of an Heir, and the Mister and Miss for people who do not have a noble title. I'd be Heiress Ambrosius, and Hermione would be Miss Granger."

And that's how it went until they reached the bathroom where six of The Alliance members were already waiting for them.

"Malfoy? What are you doing here?" Harry was confused, as he found students waiting for them. Some from his year, some older than him and a blonde girl who looked younger than he was, possibly a first year.

"I'm part of the team that's going to take care of the Basilisk." Draco replied, standing a little in front of his cousin in a protective stance, with a sword at his side that looked very sharp.

Everyone there seemed to have a weapon with them, and they even handed Lynette and Hermione a sword and a bow and quiver respectively. Harry felt intimidated by the sight and straightened his back subconsciously.

They all looked at him expectantly as he moved towards the sink that Lynette had gestured to, waiting for him to open the gateway.

He looked at the tap closely and noticed a snake etched in its side, he imagined it being a real snake and started speaking.

$Open$

The bathroom wall seemed to shift outwards and opened quietly, showing a dark hole behind it.

"Could you try to conjure stairs?" A girl in his year, he believed her name was Daphne, said quietly, looking in disgust at the hole.

"Umm, sure."

Harry did the same steps again, this time saying $stairs$. As soon as he'd said the words, steps started appearing in a spiral formation. Everyone took a deep breath before going down the steps quietly. They all had a feeling that it was going to be a long day.

"Well that was slightly traumatizing." Harry Potter said, looking around at the ten students gathered around him, who all nodded in agreement.

They had just made their way out of the Chamber of Secrets after slaying the basilisk that had been terrorizing the school for the better part of a year. Everyone was laying around the girl's bathroom that housed the entrance to the chamber, gasping in exhaustion. Even though it had taken them the better part of an hour, they all felt proud of their achievement.

Of 'The Alliance' members, ten had gathered for the challenge. Lynette Ambrosius, Draco Malfoy, Hermione Granger, Neville Longbottom, Susan Bones, Theodore Nott, Blaise Zabini, Daphne Greengrass, Luna Lovegood, and Cedric Diggory. Most of those present were the members who had been trained by their families in weapon handling. Only Hermione Granger, and Harry Potter, who had tagged along because they needed his parseltongue abilities, weren't trained in the art of weaponry by their families. Of those present, Draco, Lynette, Neville, Daphne and Theo were trained in using a sword while Susan, Blaise, Luna and Cedric had found their chosen weapon in the bow and quiver, even Hermione, who came from a mundane family, had managed to become an amateur in using the bow and arrow after having a few training sessions with the other members in The Alliance. She was lucky enough, however, to have had a father who had been in the British Military and had made sure she knew how to aim and fire a hand-held gun, so her aim was one of the best in her group.

Even though they were capable fighters, the basilisk was the hardest thing they had ever had to face. It had taken all of them working together to take it down and at the end they were all covered in blood. As soon as they had calmed down, one by one they started cleaning themselves up with their wands and leaving to get to their dorms to get a proper shower and sleep off the exhaustion. Harry looked around the room and found his respect for these people growing for what they'd done for Hogwarts and its students. That day, Harold James Potter left the Lady's bathroom on the first floor with a changed view point on those that resided in Hogwarts.

Lynette sat at her desk in her dorm room in Slytherin House, Thomas Riddle's diary open to a blank page. She truly didn't know what to do with the journal, which she knew to be the Dark Lord's hocrux. She could either destroy it, which was relatively easy, or try to return the soul piece to its creator, which was not as easy as the former option.

She sat down contemplating with herself for a bit before ultimately coming to a decision, she just needed to write a letter.

She pulled out a parchment and a self-inking quill and started writing to the one person she knew would be able to help her.

'Dear Bill,'
