Summer was underway, but Lynette found herself missing the hectic lifestyle of Hogwarts School. She met up with her friends and hung out with them, she spent time with her parents, who she had missed dearly during her time at boarding school, and even worked on the project she had started with Curse Breaker William Weasley, but nothing seemed to catch her attention. Speaking of Bill, after sending him a letter asking for his help on the hocrux matter, they had managed to find a ritual to restore the soul piece to its creator and had successfully done it, but not before asking the diary if there were other hocruxes and what they were. They were now trying to gather them and use the same ritual on each one, to restore the dark lord to his former, sane, self. She had enlisted her parents' help as well, who had managed to find out where at least two were from their close friend Lord Lucius Malfoy, who had had the diary and had a guess on the whereabouts of the Cup of Hufflepuff and Slytherin's Locket. With the help of Narcissa Black-Malfoy, they were able to get both from Bellatrix Black-Lestange's vault and Regulus Black's home respectively. They had also gotten Unspeakable Onyx (who had been a spy in the Death Eater ranks for the DOM) to help in the mission.

Another thing that was a new development was her communication with Heir Harold Potter, who preferred to go by Harry. She continued to give him lessons through their letters and let him rant about his relatives, the Dursley family of Number 4 Private Drive, and the information she had gathered from those rants had surprised her. Everyone in the Wizarding World had thought he lived with his Uncle, Altair Potter, who was the current Regent Potter until Harry came of age to take up the title. Upon asking Harry, she found out that he hadn't even known he had an Uncle until she'd asked him, and that he was outraged that he had had a magical relative all this time but they hadn't come to take him away from his aunt's hell of a house.

Lynette had taken this as a sign to ask her father about it, who was a colleague of Regent Altair Potter in the Wizengamot.

"I thought he did live with Altair?" Her father had asked when she'd approached him on the matter, expression showing his extreme confusion.

"He says he lives with his mundane aunt, the late Lady Potter's sister. He hadn't even known that his father had a younger brother until I mentioned it."

After approaching Regent Potter on the matter, Altair had admitted to asking Professor Albus Dumbledore on the whereabouts of his nephew immediately after his brother's funeral, only to be rebuked with the simple answer of that he was at a safe house with suitable guardians who were taking care of him away from the eyes of Lord Voldemort's followers. Altair had then looked for Harry's placement report in the Child Welfare Office in the Ministry of Magic but hadn't found anything in his nephew's file, further confirming his suspicions that something was amiss. No tracking spell or ritual worked, and so he spent the next ten years searching for his nephew the mundane way with no luck, as he hadn't known where his sister-in-law lived. Upon relaying this information to Harry in her letter, he had expressed a desire to meet his paternal uncle and had told her his address with an invitation to visit.

Which brought her to this very moment in time, three weeks after the start of the summer break in June, where she was standing in front of Number 4 Private Drive in Little Whinging, Surrey. She was accompanying Regent Potter to the meeting with his nephew, as he had admitted to being nervous to meet his twelve-year-old nephew after not seeing him since he was one.

"Are you ready?" Lynette asked the clearly uncomfortable man, who gave her a hesitant nod, which Lynette took as a sign to ring the doorbell. They waited for a second before the door opened to reveal a very thin woman with a rather tall neck. While Lynette was raised to never judge a book by its cover, this woman just made her uncomfortable for some reason.

"Finally decided to show up and take the freak?" The woman, Petunia she presumed, said with a nasty sneer on her face that made her look even meaner than she already did.

"Hello to you too Petunia." Altair said with a fake smile on his own face. "I did come to take Harry, I just needed to ask you a few questions before I do so, hopefully for good this time."

That seemed to brighten the woman's day, at least a little bit. She opened the door a little wider and stepped aside to let them in without another word, walking towards what looked like the living room.

As soon as they'd sat down, Petunia Dursley got right to business.

"Well, ask. I don't have all day."

"Who left Harry here with you and why?"

"That school's headmaster, Dumble something. Said this was the only place safe for the boy and that I had to take him in, or else there wouldn't be a protection on my house and the people that killed my fool of a sister would come to kill me and my family to get to the boy. I had no other choice."

That made the Potter Regent start, he mouthed the word 'Blood Wards' to himself, as he remembered something Lily had told him, before he focused on Petunia again.

"I can put up wards around your house so that no one magical bothers you after I take Harry." Altair offered, getting a single nod in response before the woman got up to get the boy without saying anything.

A few minutes later, Harry came down the stairs with his trunk wearing a t-shirt and trousers that were four sizes too big. He smiled at his friend in greeting as she got up to take his trunk and give him a hug.

"Well. I'll take Mrs. Dursley out to finalize the paperwork." She said, taking Harry's trunk and dragging the woman out of the house to give the two space to talk everything out.

"Hello Harry. My name is Altair Potter and well…I'm your father's younger brother." Altair said awkwardly, scratching the back of his head in nervousness.

"I didn't know my dad had a brother." Harry said quietly, sitting down on the couch opposite his uncle, waiting for the man to explain himself.

"I…well…I tried so hard to find you all these years, but nothing worked. I tried every tracking spell I could think of, even ones that were illegal, but nothing worked. I asked Dumbledore to schedule a time for me to meet you before Hogwarts, he refused. I offered to be the one to give your Hogwarts letter, to help explain everything about magic and our family, he told me that it was already handled and that no one outside of staff can do that. I tried to send you letters but nothing ever seemed to reach you as you never replied. I asked to see you on a weekend while you were at Hogwarts, Dumbledore refused, saying that you were still getting used to everything and that he didn't want to overwhelm you. I tried to find you at platform Nine and Three Quarters, but I could never see you there. I asked to take you in during the summer of your first year, Dumbledore said you were safer where you were. I tried to find you in Diagon Alley, but I never knew when you'd be there. I even tried using a phone book to find where you were, but I could never get it to work. I asked everyone that James had known on your whereabouts, but no one ever knew. I even tried to look for you in the countries I went to for work, but had no luck in that either. I tried so hard to fulfil the promise I made to my older brother, the man who took care of me when our parents died and was always there for me, but I couldn't. I know this is all not an excuse, and I would never expect you to forgive me for leaving you here with the worst person I have ever met, but I'm so sorry Harry." By the end of the man's explanation, his eyes were brimming with tears as he looked at his beloved older brother's son for forgiveness.

As Harry looked at the man and listened to his explanation, he could tell that the man was sincere and had tried everything to get him in his care, but Professor Dumbledore had stopped him in every way, which he didn't understand. But Altair's words made something warm fill Harry on the inside, a feeling that he knew came from the knowledge that there was someone who actually cared about him, someone who had spent years looking for him without giving up. It made him happy to know that, and he did something that he'd never done before, he moved over to sit next to the man and gave him a hug.

"Thank you for looking for me Star. It means a lot to me." Harry whispered to the man, unconsciously calling him by a nickname he remembered hearing in his very early childhood. This made Altair emotional, and it took a lot of effort for him to stop his tears from falling as he returned the hug. He promised himself that he'd take care of his nephew no matter what he had to do or who he had to go through.

"Now what?" Harry asked after pulling away from the hug, looking at his uncle in confusion.

"Well, now I put up wards around this house and I take you home to live with me, if you want to of course." Altair offered hesitantly, looking at his nephew questioningly.

"I-well-I'd like that." Harry said, stuttering on his reply. Altair beamed at him in happiness at his reply and they both stood up after that to leave the house, hopefully for good.

They found Lynette waiting for them, leaning against the car they had come in with a brief case in her hand, looking at Petunia Dursley with a sly smile on her face. Petunia looked scared and immediately ran into the house as soon as they had left.

"What did you do, Lyn?" Harry asked, smiling slightly at the girl he had become friends with. Altair was surprised by the use of the nickname but didn't comment on it, as he started to set up the wards.

"Nothing." Lynette said with an innocent smile on her face. The two students continued talking to each other as Altair carved the necessary runes around the house, powered them and then moved over to start talking with Harry. After a few minutes, Lynette looked at the two with a smile on her face before saying in amusement "Are you two going to get in the car or are you going to continue talking in the middle of the street?"

The two Potters laughed quietly at her statement before getting in the car and driving off.

Altair had taken Harry to live with him in Potter Manor, where, as soon as they'd arrived, he showed him around the house and told stories of the antics he had gotten into with his older brother, Harry's father, James Charlus. Harry got his first taste of a normal life with a kind relative who seemed to care about him when Altair had shown Harry his room, the Heir suite. He explained that it had been James's room and that he could decorate it however he wanted, and could keep all of his father's stuff wherever he wanted. That had seemed to start convincing Harry of his genuineness, as he later found out that that was the first time someone had given Harry the choice to do something, instead of forcing him into it. It started solidifying to Harry that his uncle truly cared about him, and wanted to get to know him. Harry had also gotten emotional about the fact that he finally had something that was his, and the ensuing tears had been unexpected but welcome, as he was relieved that Harry was able to let his emotions go and trusted him enough to do it in his presence, and so Altair had given him a hug and let him get all of his emotions out. That had done a lot to start a positive relationship between the two, and Harry had appreciated his comfort in the moment, even if he was embarrassed by breakdown.

And as the days went by, Altair and Harry seemed to get along well. They visited the Ambrosius family often and Harry hung out with Lynette and the rest of her friends, which included a bunch of people in his year group but from different houses, which surprisingly also meant that Slytherins were there (which had shocked him when he'd seen Hermione being friendly with them, but he'd gone along with it after she'd explained it to him). After clearing up the situation behind their first encounter, Harry found himself actually enjoying Draco Malfoy's company and they became friends as result.

His uncle had also made sure that Harry had gone to a bunch of healers to make sure he was healthy (which he wasn't, no surprise there), and one of the healers he had seen had managed to remove the dark magic that had been left over from his first meeting with Lord Voldemort (Harry wasn't told it was a hocrux so that he wouldn't be stressed). He had even started seeing a mind healer once a week after he had made a comment about the cupboard he had lived in throughout his childhood. Altair was determined to get Harry as healthy as possible, so he had him on nutrition potions upon the recommendation of one the healers he had taken Harry to see (the one who had removed the hocrux), who had been a friend of Altair's for many years. The mind healer sessions also seemed to help Harry process everything he had gone through, including a traumatising year at Hogwarts, as Altair had later found out.

He had also started teaching Harry about many subjects, from politics to etiquette, even basic wizarding culture and history, as he had found out that Harry had never received any lessons on the subjects he needed to know about as an Heir, unlike what Dumbledore had assured him had been happening. As a result, Uncle and nephew got a lot closer to one another and Harry starts trusting Altair, and the man slowly became one of the only adults he felt safe around (but they weren't that many truthfully, maybe three).

Altair also made sure to tell Harry stories about his parents and The Marauders. He wanted to make sure that Harry knows things about his parents like their birthdays, their favourite colours, even their personalities, or as much as he could know without actually meeting them. Altair had been horrified when he had found out Harry knew absolutely nothing about his parents, or extended family, he hadn't even known that he was a quarter Greek, and so Altair was making sure that that was all rectified.

He was also researching the Blood Wards Lily had used on the boy, as she had asked him about them in the past but he hadn't known that she'd actually done them until Petunia had mentioned a protection around the house. He assumed they'd fall in the next year or so, and needed to find a way to tie them to himself instead of the abusive woman he unfortunately called a relative. He couldn't allow Harry to ever return to that awful house ever again.

Altair had asked for the help of his colleague and friend Owen Ambrosius in the research, as he knew the man was well versed in rituals and wards. Through Owen, he had met Curse Breaker William Weasely, who had asked to be called Bill as soon as they'd started communicating. He found himself enjoying working with Bill (it reminded his of his old curse breaker days) and they had slowly become friends as a result.

Altair also made sure to take his nephew out once every week, where it was just the two of them. He took him to places Harry had never been to, the movies, a magical theatre, and even a wizarding museum. He used it as an opportunity to get to know his nephew and for them to get closer. And that was how Harry Potter mostly spent his first summer with his uncle Altair Fleamont Potter.
