I know it's been a while. I don't really have an excuse for why this took so long. Only my apologies.

Moving on, I do not own Transformers or Godzilla. They belong to their respective owners.

Enjoy!

"You don't stay small for long, do you?"

Arcee was simultaneously pleased and nervous with Zilla's growth spurt. Just a few days ago, he had only reached up to her knee.

But now, she was only as tall as his.

"Are they supposed to get that big so fast?" Bulkhead asked as watched the now 50-foot tall Zilla devour the fish he found in the river.

"I asked Ratchet about that. And he honestly doesn't know any more than I do," Arcee responded. "His precursor only became known when it made contact in New York. There's no other available information on it."

*Beep* *Beep* *Boop*

"Gotta agree with Bee here. I kinda liked him better when he was smaller," Bulkhead said as he saw Zilla trudge out of the water. Being only fifteen feet tall himself, and the largest of the group, Bulk was now more than three times smaller than Zilla was now.

"Used to be afraid I might step on him. You sure he won't step on us by accident?"

"He'll watch his step. I'm sure of it," Arcee said as she took a fish out of a nearby crate. The combined smell of food and his parent instinctively drew Zilla to Arcee. "You like having us around, don't you?"

Arcee tossed the fish, which Zilla happily ate. He then lowered his face to meet Arcee, who happily rubbed her hand against the giant reptile's nose.

"Ley's hope he keeps that promise," Bulk whispered to Bee. "By the way where's Cliffjumper?"

Cliffjumper didn't mind New York. He understood the need for large, interconnected cities. But he wasn't a fan of all the traffic that sprung up in such locations.

That was why he enjoyed the open road. He was free to drive as fast and as far as he wanted.

Even though he had a mission to complete right now, he was happy to enjoy the sense of freedom the road under his wheels gave him.

"Cliffjumper? Are you near the designated area?"

The voice of Prime drew Cliffjumer out of his musings.

"I'm near the spot Optimus. Are you sure I'll find any Energon over there?"

"If Ratchet's scans are accurate, there should be a bountiful supply at your designated target. Your job will be asses the findings."

"Make sure the doc still hasn't lost his edge. Got it."

"I heard that!"

Cliffjumper chuckled at the doc's outburst as he continued to drive towards his destination.

Once he made it to the cliff overlooking the deposit, he was able to confirm what the medic recorded.

There was a lot of Energon at this location. Enough to keep the Bots going for another year at least. Maybe more. There were large crystals all over the area, and he wouldn't be able to take them all himself.

"This is Cliffjumper calling base. I found the Energon. I'm going to need..."

Cliffjumper heard the boom before turning around. A large ship was snow in the sky. It was black and purple, obviously Decepticon.

And there were Vehicons descending from the ship.

"I'm going to need some backup. The cons are here."

New York

Arcee felt it before everyone else did. The slight shift. The small change in Zilla's mood as e began to sniff the air.

Bulkhead and Bumblebee only became aware when Zilla turned his head upward and shouted at the heavens.

"Woah! What's going on with him?"

"I don't know, Arcee answered. She never got a chance to even ask, as Zilla began to burrow into the earth seconds after his roar. His digging had gotten better with age. Because he managed to disappear underground in only seconds.

"What the- Where's he going?" Bulk yelled.

"I don't know. Ratchet!" Arcee called over her communicator. "Ratchet, Zilla just dug away. Tell me you have a way to track him."

"Come on! Is that all you cons got!"

Cliffjumper sometimes wished he knew how to keep his mouth shut. It might save him some trouble.

He doubted that it would help him now thought. There were waves after waves of Vehicons charging towards him. And Cliffjumper was strong, and he was a good fighter. He didn't become a member of Team Prime for nothing.

But there came a point when quantity began to overwhelm quality. And he was reaching that point.

For each Cons that Cliffjumper punched down or threw into the Energon hole, another two would take its place. He was able to deal with them at first. But now they were hitting back.

It started when one Vehicon was able to dodge one of his blows. He wasn't as fast as he needed to be, and Cliff's fist failed to connect with the con's face. The same didn't apply to the Vehicon, who managed to smack Cliffjumper in one of his optics.

"Ahh!"

Exclaiming, Cliffjumper stepped back. A bad move, as it gave the rest of the Vehicons the opportunity they needed to attack him as a group.

He couldn't stop any of them as they attacked him. One of them struck his leg. The other his waist. Another brought two first down on his head, disorienting him.

The worst blow came at the end. When one of the Vehicons charged at him, using the momentum to deliver a devastating impact to his face. The force of the punch knocked Cliffjumper over the edge of the cliff.

It also broke one of his horns off of his head. It landed several feet away from him.

Knocked on his face, Cliffjumper could hear the Vehicons running to catch him. They intended to finish the job, he could tell that. And when he lifted his head, he could see that they also had their blasters ready.

Cliffjumper was not ready. He didn't want this to be the place he lost his spark.

But that wasn't his choice to make. The only thing he could do now was close his eyes and hope that Primus would embrace him.

But then the ground started shaking.

Just as the Vehicons were approaching to finish their job, they felt the ground rumbling from beneath their feet.

Starscream was pleased as he watched the battle taking place through the monitor of his command deck. The foolish Autobot wasn't able to stand against so many Vehicons on his own, and it was only a matter of time before he was disposed of completely.

Maybe he would keep the corpse. You never knew when something like that could be useful.

And not only would they thin the Autobot ranks even further, but there was a bountiful supply of Energon to take from. It would keep the Decepticons strong for years to come. And it would ensure that the Autobots would not be able to stand against them much longer.

But Starscream's hopes were dashed when he saw the Vehicons stop in their tracks. They weren't pursuing the Autobot anymore.

"Why did they stop? What is happening down there now?"

Starscream was no longer pleased. He had given the Vehicons a direct order, and they were not obeying it. They were just standing in place, not willing to move.

Just as Starscream was about to reissue the order, he took a closer look at the ground beneath his soldier's feet.

He saw it begin to crack.

Cliffjumper realized what was happening just one second before it actually happened. He didn't know how it was happening, or how it was even possible.

But he was thankful.

Just before any of the Vehicons could reach Cliffjumper and finish the job, the ground imploded from beneath their feet.

And a massive, scaly dark head popped out.

Zilla took half-a-dozen Vehicons in his mouth as he stood up from the ground. Cliffjumper watched in both relief and concern as Zilla bit down on the Vehicons that were inside his mouth.

Each Vehicons was broken either in half or in pieces when Zilla bit down on them. And when he didn't like the taste of metal, the rest of the metal scraps fell down as well.

"Zilla," Cliffjumper whispered in confusion and relief. "What are you doing out here?"

Looking down at Cliffjumper, Zilla connected his teeth and pulled back his lips. He was still trying to figure out smiling.

Still, the intended effect occurred. Cliffjumper was reassured.

Looking behind himself, Zilla used his tail to swipe at the remaining Vehicons, throwing most of them away. The ones that remained were too shocked to even move, let alone fight.

Ignoring them, Zilla instead focused on the massive ship hovering over the reserve. And he roared at it.

Starscream wanted to live up to half of his name and scream his metal lungs out. But he was too flabbergasted to make a sound.

His forces had been knocked back by an enormous creature. One the likes of which he had never seen before. Organic, scaly, and covered in thick skin, the monster had bitten many of his Vehicons in half. And it also swiped the rest away with its tail.

"What... in the name of Primus is that thing?"

None of the ship technicians had an answer.

"It's not human sir. Technically, it shouldn't even exist," one of his engineers stated.

"Then why is it tearing apart my foot soldiers?" Starscream yelled. He had lost almost a quarter of his available army thanks to the interference of what looked like a giant lizard.

"It's organic. And organics are squishy," Starscream rationalized to himself. Humans were easy to step on, being so small. This creature was larger, so stepping wasn't an option.

But squashing was.

"Fire on the creature!"

Cliffjumper saw the cannons heating up. Soon, they would have enough power to fire.

And Zilla wasn't paying attention to them. Instead, he was focusing on defeating the remaining Vehicons.

"Zilla! Look above!"

He wasn't fast enough.

Just as Zilla tilted his head upward, the first of the ship's cannons fired. And a ray of purple light shot out, hitting Zilla square in the chest.

Screaming, Zilla staggered back as the smoke cleared from his chest. Revealing a massive bleeding cut near his throat. Close to his gills.

Eyes widening, Cliffjumper remembered how Zilla's parent had died. It was bombarded by missiles made by humans.

And right now, Zilla had a fixture of Cybertronian weapons aimed at him.

"Zilla, you need to get out of here! Leave me!"

Zilla turned back, but he growled and stared back at the Con ship.

Starscream was happy once again. His weapons had proven effective at harming the creature. Now he just needed to finish the job.

"Fire all weapons. Bring that thing down."

Zilla's determined stare didn't falter. Not even as all the ship weapons fired down on him.

"Zilla!"

Cliffjumper screamed as the blasts of purple energy rained down on the mutated lizard. He could hear pain yells as the blasts created a cloud of smoke around Zilla's body. Some of the blasts got near the Energon.

And one blast hit.

Cliff had to hide behind a large rock to avoid being caught up in the explosion. A blue eruption covered the entire area and made each drop of the life-giving substance useless.

"Well, that wasn't very hard," Starscream said smugly as he looked at the explosion through the screen. With the ridiculous creature now defeated, it was one less surprise advantage for the Autobots.

The Energon was useless now, but it was no matter. They could always find more.

"Send more Vehicons to survey the area," Starscream ordered. "Make sure that the Autobot traitor did not survive. And see if you can salvage any piece of that creature."

Even a corpse could have its uses. Shockwave had taught him that.

Breathing deeply, Cliffjumper looked out past his rock. He expected to see a fresh lizard corpse.

Instead, all he saw was a massive hole next to the one Zilla had arrived in.

An escape route.

It didn't take long before another hole suddenly appeared. This one from behind the Con ship. Zilla crawled and stood out from the hole.

And he was livid.

Fangs bared, chest feeling, and a growl vibrating his throat, Zilla scowled at the con ship. That's when he did something that Cliffjumper never expected.

It started when the spikes growing out of Zilla's back began to glow. Flashes of intense white light started from the tip of Zilla's tail, and they continued to expand until they reached the top spikes behind his head. The glow didn't stop there though, because his eyes were also burning white.

Cliffjumper had no idea if that was supposed to be a good or bad thing.

He got his answer when Zilla opened his mouth.

A discharge of green fire shot out of Zilla's mouth. And it hit the ship directly in the back. One of the engines was damaged now, and the ship wasn't able to remain stable because of it.

"No. No!"

Starscreams plans were ruined. There was no Energon to take back to base. No Autobot corpse he could play with. No victory anywhere in sight.

Only dead Vehicons, a ruined supply of Energon, and a damaged ship.

This was all a lost cause now.

"Decepticons... retreat."

Starscream spat out the word in disgust. This was not going to go over well with Megatron. He could only hope that his master was in one of his merciful moods.

Cliffjumper let out his tension with a breath as he saw the ship fly away. Aside from a broken horn, he was still alive. He still had his spark in his parts.

Zilla approached Cliffjumper just as the bot was getting out of his hiding space. The giant lizard lowered his head, eying Cliffjumper as if to make sure he was ok.

"I'm fine Zilla. Thanks to you."

Zilla tried to smile again. He did better this time. He actually separated his teeth, making him look less predatory. But his lips were also pulled back, so it didn't help much.

Still, Cliff was happy to pat Zilla's nose in gratitude. And the lizard was happy for the affection.

It was at that moment that a groundbridge opened. And all the rest of Team Prime jumped out. Even Ratchet.

It was Prime who stood at the front, as usual. He was the first to take in the scene of destruction.

"Cliffjumper. Report."

"I got jumped by a bunch of Vehicons. They tried to stop me from even touching the Energon. And they had a Con warship as backup," Cliffjumper explained. "The only reason I'm still alive is thanks to Zilla. He came through for me."

"How?" Arcee questioned as she stepped forward. Zilla immediately moved forward to greet her. And Arcee, as if absentmindedly, hugged his face and rubbed his scratches as she pressed on her question. "He was in New York with us. How did he manage to dig all the way here so fast?"

"It would seem the creature is even faster than we had anticipated," Ratchet said as he pulled out his scanner to analyze both Cliffjumper and Zilla. "His parent was known to cross over continents in days through the water. But to burrow himself from one end of a continent to another in less than an hour is... well, it makes him faster than his predecessor, that is for sure."

"That's not all. Could his parent breath fire?"

All eyes turned to Cliffjumper. But it was Arcee who asked.

"What are talking about Cliff?"

"The cons fired on Zilla after he showed up. It's how he got his wounds," Cliffjumper recalled. "But he dug around them and blasted the ship with green fire. He forced them to retreat."

The Autobots knew that Cliffjumper wasn't lying. He had no reason to. And the existence of such an ability was a good reason as to why the Decepticons would retreat in the face of an Energon horde.

But it also presented a host of new issues.

"Ratchet, prepare your instruments for Cliffjumper and Zilla. Both will need medical attention," Optimus ordered. "And get any equipment needed to examine Zilla. It seems we have only scratched the surface of his potential."

"On it Optimus," Ratchet said as he finished his residual scan.

While Ratchet did his work and Cliffjumper looked for his horn, Arcee held tightly on to Zilla. The big iguana happily returned her affection.

"You're just full of surprises, aren't you big guy?"

It would be some time before all those surprises were discovered.

I told all of you I wasn't going to kill Cliffjumper. He already dies enough.

Things are now officially going to change. The Decepticons are aware of the new ally the Autobots have. And that is going to have consequences later down the line.

As for Zilla, his first fight with a creature similar to himself is about to come up. I just wanted to focus on some Cybertron stuff first.

The show made it seem that Zilla grew to a juvenile size in only a few days. And then to full size only a few days after that. So him being only fifty-feet tall after a week is actually me keeping him from full maturity for just a while longer. I want to keep his full potential at bay just a bit more.

Just one question for all of you. How soon should I introduce Komodithrax? I don't intend to do it too soon, but I am looking forward to seeing Arcee have a mom moment when Zilla starts spending more time with his mate.

Anyway, please leave reviews, tell me what you think, and I will see you all next time.

Bye!
