Chapter 43: Back on Yavin 4

On Lothal...

A Loth-wolf dropped Ezra and Sabine off near where Ryder's U-wing landed during daybreak.

Ezra went off the Loth-wolf's back and then placed a unconscious Sabine on the floor.

"Thank you."Ezra said. "I don't understand. Why did you help us?"

"Dume."the Loth-wolf whispered deeply.

Ezra looked at the Loth-wolf with a hint of confusion.

"Ezra!"Hera's voice called out. "Sabine!"

Ezra turned around and saw Hera and the others rushing towards him.

The young adult turned around and saw the Loth-wolf was gone.

Hera bend down to check on Sabine.

"Thank goodness, you're safe."Hera said with relief.

"How did you get back here so fast?"Zeb asked.

"Didn't you see the Loth-wolf?"Ezra questioned and looked at Sabine. "Sabine?"

"I don't remember seeing anything."Sabine replied and rubbed her head. "I just heard you say wolf."

Hera notice the flight data recorder next to Sabine.

"Is that the..."Hera started.

"Flight data recorder from the TIE defender elite."Ezra answered. "All Sabine's idea."

Hera helped Sabine up.

"We got the hyperdrive too."Sabine admitted. "Stashed it in the rocks near the crash. I think it'll work in our U-wing."

"Then we can come and go off this rock."Zeb stated and picked up the data recorder. "Well done, you two."

Hera, Sabine, Zeb, Ryder and Jai walked away.

Ezra looked at Kanan.

"Kanan, there was a wolf."Ezra responded. "And there's something more to it. What, I don't know."

"I believe you."Kanan assured. "All paths are coming together now."

"What does that mean?"Ezra asked.

"I don't know."Kanan answered. "We'll have to find out when we get there."

In Yavin 4's Medical Center...

"What does my mum have to do with you?!"

"Everything. Including you."

Lisa slowly opened her eyes and winced a little as a medical droid sprayed on the wound of her arm.

It had been a couple of hours since the blonde haired girl was brought on Yavin 4 and escaping from Coruscant.

But she didn't understand something.

What did Vader mean during their duel on Coruscant.

Why did he want her to join the Dark Side?

The biggest question was did her mum have a connection with Vader?

No.

He was lying.

The Sith Lord was just trying to distract her so that he could strike her down without mercy.

Lisa turned her attention on the medical droid.

"How long until my wound is healed?"Lisa asked.

"Only for a couple of days."the medical droid answered. "But I might suggest you relax a little so that your injury will heal quicker."

Lisa nodded in respond before the medical droid walked away.

Ferus walked into the medical center.

"Hey, kiddo."Ferus said. "Are you okay?"

"Yes, dad."Lisa responded simply and rubbed her arm. "Just now need to remain hidden and carefully run in areas without getting caught. Vader knows who I am and now the Empire knows I'm a traitor."

"Fighting for freedom is never easy, Lisa."Ferus commented. "But remember this. You are braver than you look, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think. Whether your an elected monarch or jedi."

"Yes, dad."Lisa answered with a grateful smile. "Thank you for saving me."

"Like I said before, I would protect you no matter what happens."Ferus reminded.

"I know."Lisa agreed and lowered her sleeve to cover her bandaged wound. "When I need you the most."

"Do you want anything to drink?"Ferus asked. "We've got Batuu Brew, Black Spire Brew, Blurrgfire, Toniray White, Moogan Tea-"

"Dad."Lisa interrupted. "I've been wanting to ask you something. You know my biological dad, what was his life like before the Jedi Order?"

Ferus paused for a bit before responding.

"Well, Anakin never liked talking about his past."Ferus stated. "But all I know is when he was a small boy, he and his mother were sold into slavery by the Hutt clans in his homeworld, Tatooine."

A startled look grew on Lisa's face.

"Dad was a slave as a child?"Lisa asked with a hint of shock.

Ferus nodded. "Yeah."

"That's horrible!"Lisa snapped angrily and then her voice became calm. "But what happened to his mum? My other grandmother?"

"I am not really sure, sweetheart."Ferus answered. "Whenever I ever asked, Anakin was always moody and could get a little...violent."

"Oh."Lisa said and looked down. "Anakin had a life which was different and more hard than my mum, huh?"

"You can say that."Ferus agreed.

"I don't get something."Lisa said. "If Anakin was a slave, how did he met my mum?"

"It's an interesting story."Ferus answered. "Padme was actually disguised as one of her handmaidens and a young teenager when she met your dad. Naboo was being invaded by the Trade Federation when she was queen that time. I was with her family during that event."

"So mum was older than Anakin?"Lisa asked.

"The age difference is just 5 years."Ferus responded. "But then again, I used to play the role of the protective younger brother when those two became lovey dovey."

Lisa's cheeks turned bright pink, knowing her mum was older than her biological dad.

"You don't say..."Lisa snickered.

Lisa and Ferus walked out of the meditation center.

"Anyway, let's focus on the here and now."Ferus suggested with a small frown and helped Lisa up. "What drink do you want?"

"Fizzy Moogan tea."Lisa replied. "That beverage always make me get energetic."

"That's good."Ferus admitted.

"Why?"Lisa questioned.

"Cause your going to join your cousins on helping Hera attack on the Imperial blockade at Lothal."Ferus stated.

"Fine with me."Lisa said proudly with a shrug. "I am a gifted pilot."

Lisa walked away while Ferus watched her go with a troubled look on his face.

"Just like your dad."Ferus said quietly.

His foster daughter reminded him of Padme, but sometimes she reminded him of Anakin.

"I'll never let Vader get to her, Padme."Ferus thought with a firm look. "You would've been so proud of her."

In a Training Room...

Nadia was watching Zack and Gwen duel each other in a empty area that was located on one of the ancient temples.

Zack's lightsaber was orange and Gwen's was purple.

Gwen nearly hit Zack but her brother skilfully dodged her blade causing the brunette to flip up, narrowly avoiding Zack's lightsaber connect her stomach.

Nadia clapped lightly causing Zack and Gwen to deactivate their lightsabers.

"Not bad you two."Nadia complemented. "If the assault on Lothal's blockade is successfully then you would have enough luck to beat any assassins or inquisitors."

"Even Vader?"Gwen asked.

"You both still need to learn about taking down the basics."Nadia reminded.

"Come on, mum."Zack scoffed. "You trained us since we were small."

"I am trying to train you in the ways of the jedi."Nadia answered. "That way your dad won't think I am damaging your heads or his lineage."

"But I thought you trusted, dad-"Gwen started.

"I trust your dad."Nadia interrupted sharply and began walking away. "It's just the ways he does things sometimes tick me off."

"Where are you going?"Zack asked.

"Just get back on your training."Nadia retorted. "And don't look for me."

The doors closed behind Nadia closed when the black haired woman left the room.

Zack and Gwen glanced at each other.

They definitely shouldn't have questioned their mum.
