Chapter 67: Return of the Jedi Part 1
At Tatooine…
Threepio and Artoo arrived at the entrance of Jabba the Hutt's desert palace.
"Of course, I'm worried!"Threepio complained. "And you should be, too! Lando and poor Chewbacca never returned from this awful place!"
Artoo whistled timidly at his partner.
"Don't be so sure."Threepio commented. "If I told you half the things I've heard about this Jabba the Hutt, you'd probably short-circuit."
The two droids approached the massive gate to Jabba's palace.
"Artoo, are you sure this is the right place?"Threepio asked with a hint of worry. "I better knock, I suppose."
Threepio looked around for some kind of signalling device, then timidly knocked on the iron door.
"There doesn't seem to be anyone there."Threepio said. "Let's go back and tell Master Luke."
Suddenly, a small hatch in the middle of the door opened and a spidery mechanical arm, with a large electronic eyeball on the end, popped out and inspects the two droids.
"Tee chuta hhat yudd!"A strange voice yelled out.
"Goodness gracious me!"Threepio commented before pointing to Artoo, then to himself. "Artoo Detoowha bo Seethreepiowha ey toota odd mischka Jabba du Hutt."
The eye looked from one robot to the other, there is a laugh then the eye zipped back into the door.
The hatch slammed shut as Artoo beeped his concern.
"I don't think they're going to let us in, Artoo."Threepio stated. "We'd better go."
Artoo beeped his reluctance as Threepio turned to leave and the massive door started to rise to let the two droids in.
The robots turn back and face an endless black cavity.
The droids look at one another, afraid to enter. Artoo started forward into the gloom.
Threepio rushed after his stubby companion as the door lowers noisily behind them.
"Artoo, wait!"Threepio protested. "Oh, dear! Artoo! Artoo, I really don't think we should rush into all this!"
Artoo continues down the corridor, with Threepio following.
The door slammed shut with a loud crash that echoes throughout the dark passageway.
The frightened robots were met by two giant, green gamorrean guards, who fell in behind them.
Threepio glanced quickly back at the two guards, then back to Artoo.
One guard grunts an order, making Artoo beep nervously.
"Just you deliver Master Ferus and Master Luke's message and get us out of here."Threepio said and notice someone else coming. "Oh, no."
Walking toward them out of the darkness was Bib Fortuna, a humanlike pink alien with long tentacles protruding from his skull.
"Die Wanna Wanga!"Bib responded.
"Oh, my! Die Wanna Wauaga."Threepio translated. "We - we bring a message to your master, Jabba the Hutt."
Artoo lets out a series of quick beeps.
"...and a gift."Threepio continued and thinks a moment, then to Artoo. "Gift, what gift?"
Bib shook his head negatively.
"Nee Jabba no badda."Bib responded. "Me chaade su goodie."
Bib holds out his hand toward Artoo and the tiny droid backs up a bit, letting out a protesting array of squeaks.
Threepio turned to look at Bib.
"He says that our instructions are to give it only to Jabba himself."Threepio translated.
Bib thinks about this for a moment.
"I'm terribly sorry."Threepio apologised. "I'm afraid he's ever so stubborn about these sort of things."
Bib gestures for the droids to follow.
"Nudd Chaa."Bib answered.
The two droids follow the tall, tentacled alien into the darkness, trailed by the two guards.
"Artoo, I have a bad feeling about this."Threepio stated nervously.
The throne room was filled with the vilest, most grotesque aliens ever conceived in the universe.
Artoo and Threepio seem very small as they pause in the doorway to the dimly lit chamber.
Light shafts partially illuminate the drunken courtiers as Bib Fortuna crosses the room to the platform upon which rests the leader of this nauseating crowd was Jabba the Hutt.
The monarch of the galactic underworld was a repulsive blob of bloated fat with a maniacal grin. Chained to the horrible creature was the beautiful alien female dancer named Ools.
At the foot of the dais sits an obnoxious birdlike creature, salacious crumb.
Bib whispered something in the slobbering degenerate's ear.
Jabba laughed horribly, at the two terrified droids before him.
"Good morning."Threepio greeted while bowing politely.
"Bo Shuda!"Jabba shouted.
The robots jump forward to stand before the repulsive, loose-skinned villain.
"The message, Artoo, the message."Threepio instructed.
Artoo whistled and a beam of light projected from his domed head, creating holograms of Ferus and Luke on the floor.
"Greetings, Exalted One."Ferus greeted. "Allow us to introduce ourselves. I am Ferus Olin and this is my nephew, Luke Skywalker. We are both Jedi Knights and friends to Captain Solo."
"We know that you are powerful, mighty Jabba, and that your anger with Solo must be equally powerful."Luke exclaimed. "We seek an audience with Your Greatness to bargain for Solo's life."
Jabba and the crowd burst out laughing at the jedi's request.
"With your wisdom, I'm sure that we can work out an arrangement which will be mutually beneficial and enable us to avoid any unpleasant confrontation."Ferus remarked. "As a token of our goodwill, I present to you a gift: these two droids."
Threepio became startled by Ferus' announcement.
"What did he say?"Threepio asked.
"Both are hardworking and will serve you well."Luke assured.
"This can't be!"Threepio protested. "Artoo, you're playing the wrong message!"
Ferus and Luke's holograms then disappeared.
Jabba laughed while Bib speaks to him in Huttese.
"There will be no bargain."Jabba declared in Huttese. "I will not give up my favorite decoration. I like Captain Solo where he is."
Jabba laughed hideously and looked toward an alcove beside the throne.
Hanging high and flat against the wall was a carbonised Han Solo.
"Artoo, look. Captain Solo."Threepio said quietly. "And he's still frozen in carbonite."
Inside the Millennium Falcon…
Ferus was walking around and looking for Lisa, but couldn't find her.
The Jedi Knight then headed to the cockpit, only to find Nadia and Luke inside.
Luke was checking his new lightsaber, but it's blade wasn't shown since it was deactivated.
"Have any of you seen Lisa?"Ferus questioned. "I can't find her anywhere."
"She went out with Leia to take Chewbacca to Jabba."Luke admitted.
"What?"Ferus said in shock. "Why didn't any of you stop her?"
"Lisa will fine, Ferus."Nadia responded. "Both she and Leia are young but strong independent women. You don't have to worry about anything."
"Hutt's maybe low scum criminals in the galaxy, but they're very dangerous."Ferus reminded with a frown and looked at Luke. "Did your Uncle Owen ever tell you of your father's past?"
"He never talked about my father that much, Uncle Ferus."Luke replied. "Or tell me anything about my mother."
Ferus let out a sigh before responding.
"As a child, your father Anakin and your Grandmother Shmi were sold into slavery by the Hutt clans."Ferus declared. "When Anakin won a pod race, he earned his freedom, but had to leave his mother behind."
"I see."Luke said quietly. "Then he struggled to put his past behind him?"
Nadia gives Luke a nod.
"Sometimes people get scars and most of them don't heal, Luke."Nadia exclaimed.
Ferus looked down and didn't say anything.
Inside Jabba's Palace…
Lando and Zack were carefully walking around in the crowd while being disguised as guards.
"Dad was right about this place."Zack thought with a small angry look. "This place is horrendous beside being disgusting."
Two bounty hunters, short and small in stature, brought a shackled and struggling Wookie into Jabba's throne room.
One was Boushh and the other was his companion called Eful.
Bib takes his place next to his master, and whispers into his ear, pointing at Chewbacca and the bounty hunter.
Jabba listened intently, then the bounty hunter bows before the gangster and speaks a greeting in a strange, electronically processed tongue.
"We have come for the bounty on this Wookiee."Boushh declared in Ubese.
"Oh, no!"Threepio panicked. "Chewbacca!"
"At last we have the mighty Chewbacca."Jabba cackled.
Jabba lets out a loud, long, blood-curdling laugh and turned to Threepio, waving him closer.
"Oh, uh, yes, uh, I am here, Your Worshipfulness."Threepio said as he came forward. "Uh...yes!"
Jabba continuesd speaking as Threepio nervously translates.
Eful listened to the Hutt's while secretly studying the dangerous creatures around the room and noticed Boba Fett standing near the door.
"The illustrious Jabba bids you welcome and will gladly pay you the reward of twenty-five thousand."Threepio translated.
"We want fifty thousand."Boushh stated in Ubese. "No less."
"Fifty, no less."Threepio translated.
Jabba growled and smacked Threepio angrily.
"Oh my...the mighty Jabba asks why he must pay you fifty?"Threepio asked.
"Because, I'm holding a thermal detonator."Eful replied.
"Because he's holding a thermal detonator!"Threepio panicked.
Instead of being scared, Jabba only laughed.
"This bounty hunter is my kind of scum. Fearless and inventive."Jabba sneered. "Thirty-five."
"The mighty Jabba offers thirty-five and I do suggest you take it."Threepio advised.
Eful switched the detonator off and pocketed it while speaking to Boushh, who nodded in respond.
"He agrees!"Threepio exclaimed in relief.
The raucous crowd of aliens erupted in a symphony of cheers and applause as the party returns to its full noisy pitch.
The guards took Chewbacca away to a cell and put him in.
The music continued playing as Lando and Zack disguised as two guards, lurked around the corner.
The band starts up and dancing girls take the center of the floor, to the hoots of the loudly appreciative creatures.
One of the dancing girls was Gwen in disguise.
The Aomori girl wore a green, two-piece, loincloth bikini with pale mint green baggy Arabian-style pants. She also wore green sandals and a dark purple centerpiece on her belt. Her dark brown hair was styled in a bun while her headdress had a metallic ring around her head with four small pipes hanging from the ring, each one with a green orb attached to the ends.
Later that Night…
Jabba's Throne Room was silent with all the creatures inside asleep.
Several drunk creatures lie unconscious around the room, snoring loudly.
Boushh and Eful quietly moved stealthily as they carefully crept through the snoring, drunken aliens.
Slowly and carefully, they snuck over to the far wall where Han was mounted.
Boushh pressed a yellow button and lowered Han's carbonite form to the floor.
Eful carefully turned the knobs to the side of him and began the thawing process.
The carbonite began to turn red as it melted around Han.
Once it was done thawing, Han fell to the floor.
Leia knelt beside him and turned his shaking form over.
"Just relax for a moment."Boushh instructed. "You're free of the carbonite. You're suffering from hibernation sickness."
Han touched his face with his hand and moaned at the chill he felt in his body.
"Where am I?"Han asked.
"Jabba's palace."Boushh replied.
"I can't see."Han answered.
"You're eyesight will return in time."Eful stated.
"Who are you?"Han questioned.
Boushh removed her helmet, revealing herself to be Leia.
"Someone who loves you."Leia answered in her real voice.
"Leia!"Han cried in joy.
Han and Leia kissed passionately as Lisa smiled as she too removed her bounty Hunter helmet.
"We've got to get out of here."Lisa remarked.
"Lisa, you're here to?"Han said. "How'd you convince your cranky uncle to go along with this little plan?"
"I actually asked my aunt."Lisa admitted.
As Leia and Lisa helped the weakened captain of the Millennium Falcon to stand up, the relative quiet was pierced by an obscene huttese cackle from the other side of the alcove.
"What's that?"Han asked. "I know that laugh."
The curtain on the far side of the alcove opens, revealing Jabba the Hutt, surrounded by Bib and other aliens.
"Look Jabba, I was on my way to pay you and I got a little sidetracked."Han argued. "It's not my fault."
"You were a good smuggler Solo, but now you're bantha poodoo."Jabba declared. "Take him away."
The guards began to lead Han away, leaving Leia and Lisa together.
"I'll pay you triple!"Han yelled out. "You're throwing away a good opportunity here!"
"Bring them to me."Jabba ordered.
Leia and Lisa were shoved before Jabba by two guards.
"We have powerful friends."Leia warned. "You're gonna regret this..."
"I'm sure."Jabba commented.
Leia and Lisa cringed and turned away as Jabba's disgusting tongue came out at them.
"Ohhh, I can't bear to watch."Threepio panicked as he looked away.
In a Prison Cell…
The heavy metal door of the dungeon whined and slowly creaks open.
A guard throws Han into the dark cell and the door slams shut behind him, leaving only a thin sliver of light from a crack in the door.
Han was trying to collect himself when suddenly a growl is heard from the far side of the cell and he jumped back against the cell door.
"Chewie?"Han asked. "Chewie, is that you?"
The shadowy figure lets out a crazy growl and races toward Han, lifting him off the ground with a big hug that carried them into the light, revealing himself to be Chewbacca.
"I can't see pal."Han replied as Chewbacca spoke to him. "Luke's going to rescue us? He can't even take care of himself, much less rescue anybody."
Chewbacca barked a respond.
"He's a Jedi Knight like Ferus?"Han said. "I-I'm out of it for a little while, everybody gets delusions of grandeur."
Chewbacca growled and hugged Han.
"I'm all right, pal."Han assured. "I'm all right."
The Next Morning…
The main door to Jabba's palace slowly closed behind two cloaked figures who had just entered.
The guards held their weapons up, but with a wave from Ferus' hand, the two guards dropped their weapons to hold their throats and back away in fear.
Ferus and Luke continued on to Jabba's throne room where Bib Fortuna met them before they could disturb Jabba's nap.
"We must speak with Jabba."Luke said.
Bib answered in Huttese, shaking his head in denial.
Luke stopped and stared at Bib as he raised his hand slightly.
"You will take us to Jabba now."Luke ordered.
Bib turns in hypnotic response to Luke's command and walked down.
Ferus smiled proudly at his nephew's skill as they followed Bib to Jabba's throne room.
"You serve your master well."Luke exclaimed. "And you will be rewarded."
Jabba was asleep on his throne with Leia and Lisa sitting below him.
Salacious sat by Jabba's tail, watching it wriggle.
Leia and Lisa were both now dressed in the skimpy costumes of dancing girls.
Leia worn a bikini that was gold and brown on her chest that had metal filigree on the cups and was fastened with cords criss-crossed behind the neck and back and a lashaa silk skirt with separate panels suspended from a metal belt. Her chocolate brown hair was styled in a braided ponytail.
Lisa wore a pink bikini tied around her back with a string hanging around her neck and had gold bracelets with a pink flower on it. She wore a short slightly transparent skirt with a pink design on it and pink flat shoes with a pink flower on them. On her forehead was a pink circle jewel while her blonde hair was tied in ponytails with yellow ribbons.
There were chain necklaces around the two women's necks while they sat below Jabba.
Despite their humiliating displays, Leia and Lisa both remained calm and strong.
Threepio stood behind Jabba as Bib comes up to the gangster slug as Ferus and Luke arrived in the throne room.
"At last!"Threepio said in joy. "Master Ferus and Master Luke has come to rescue me!"
"Master."Bib said.
Jabba awakened with a start and Bib continued, in Huttese.
"Ferus Olin and Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knights."Bib declared.
"I told you not to admit them!"Jabba scowled.
"We must be allowed to speak."Luke instructed.
"They must be allowed to speak."Bib repeated.
Jabba, furious, clobbered Bib and shoved him away.
"You weak-minded fool!"Jabba snapped. "He's using an old Jedi mind trick!"
Luke stared hard at Jabba.
"You will bring Captain Solo and the Wookiee to us."Ferus instructed.
"Your mind powers will not work on me, Jedi."Jabba sneered.
"Nevertheless, we will be taking Captain Solo and his friends. Including these young girls that you have taken as prisoners."Ferus stated in a firm tone. "You can either profit by this...or be destroyed! It's your choice. But I warn you not to underestimate the powers of me and my nephew."
Jabba let out a sickening laughter as Threepio attempted to warn the Jedi about the pit.
"Master Ferus and Master Luke."Threepio warned. "You're both standing on..."
"There will be no bargain, Jedi."Jabba responded. "I shall enjoy watching you die."
Luke reached out and a pistol jumped out of a guard's holster and flies into his hand.
The bewildered guard grabbed for it as Jabba raises his hand.
"Bascka!"Jabba shouted.
The floor suddenly dropped away which send Ferus, Luke and the helpless guard into the pit.
Once they were inside the pit, the hatch closed above them.
Jabba laughed and his courtiers joined him to watch the scene while Leia and Lisa looked on in fear.
Zack attempted to help his father and adopted cousin, but Lando grabbed his shoulder and shook his head at him.
Ferus and Luke get up on their feet as the guard yelled hysterically for help.
A crowd gathered up around the edge of the pit as the door in the side of the pit started to rumble open.
Gwen stood among the crowd as she watched her father and boyfriend in complete worry.
At the side of the pit, an iron door rumbled upward and a giant, fanged Rancor emerged.
The guard runs to the side of the pit and tried futilely to scramble to the top, but the hideous beast captures him and swallows him in one gulp.
The audience cheered and laughed loudly at the guard's fate.
The Rancor turned and began heading towards Ferus and Luke.
The two Jedi dashed away just ahead of the Rancor's swipe at them and Luke picked up the long arm bone of an earlier victim.
The Rancor grabbed Luke and brought him up to his salivating mouth.
At the last moment, Luke wedged the bone in the monster's mouth and was dropped to the floor.
Ferus used the Force to throw a few large rocks at the Rancor's monster causing him to roar in rage
Ferus helped Luke up and they headed to the other side of the dungeon.
Luke looked past the Rancor to the holding cave beyond and on the far side of the holding cave was a utility door.
The Rancor spotted the two Jedi and reached into the crevice for them.
"Uncle Ferus!"Luke spoke up. "The door!"
"I know!"Ferus answered.
Ferus rushed forward as he brought his lightsaber around and passed it through the creature's right leg with a mighty strike.
The Rancor lets out a loud howl in pain as he reached out his claws to capture Ferus.
The Jedi Knight noticed a main door control panel halfway up the wall causing him to shout to his nephew.
"Do it now, Luke!"Ferus ordered.
As the Rancor moved in for the kill, Luke picked up a skull from the cave floor and hurls it at the panel.
Ferus moved out of the way as a giant overhead door comes crashing down on the Rancor's head.
A startled gasp was heard from the stunned court that was cheering before.
Heads look to Jabba, who was now angry at seeing the Rancor being defeated.
Leia and Lisa smiled in joy until Jabba pulled their chains and uttered harsh commands to his guards before they hurry off.
"Bring me Solo and the Wookiee."Jabba ordered. "They will all suffer for this outrage."
The Rancor keepers came into the cage and were examining their dead beast as Ferus and Luke panted in relief.
Several guards rush into the holding tunnel and take the two Jedi away.
"What do we do now, Uncle Ferus?"Luke asked.
Ferus smirked. "All part of the plan."
The crowd of alien courtiers parted as Han and Chewbacca were brought into the throne room, and other guards dragged Ferus and Luke up the steps.
"Han!"Luke called out.
"Luke!"Han said.
"Together again, I guess."Luke joked.
"Wouldn't miss it."Han responded. "Where's Leia and Lisa?"
"We're right here."Lisa answered.
Ferus was completely relieved that Han was still blind and couldn't see his nieces in the state they were in.
Several of the guards, including Lando and Zack, bring Luke from the other side of the room.
Boba stood behind Jabba as Threepio stepped forward and translated for the captives.
"Oh, dear."Threepio spoke up. "His High Exaltedness, the great Jabba the Hutt, has decreed that you are to be terminated immediately."
"Good, I hate long waits."Han retorted.
"You will therefore be taken to the Dune Sea and cast into the pit of Carkoon, the nesting place of the all-powerful Sarlacc."Threepio announced.
"Doesn't sound so bad."Han responded.
"In his belly, you will find a new definition of pain and suffering, as you are slowly digested over a thousand years."Threepio stated.
"On second thought, let's pass on that."Han suggested.
Ferus rolled his eyes and Chewbacca barked his agreement.
"You should have bargained, Jabba."Ferus declared. "Don't say I didn't warn you."
"That's the last mistake you'll ever make!"Luke added.
Jabba cackled evilly as the guards drag the prisoners from the throne room, a loud cheer rises from the crowd.
Leia and Lisa exchanged concerned looks, but Ferus and Luke just smiled confidently as they were taken away.
Jabba tugged on the two women's neck chains, making them stand before they were led to the Hutt's sail barge for the trip to the pit of Carkoon.
Afterwards…
Jabba's huge sail barge moved above the desert surface accompanied by two smaller Skiffs.
On one of the skiffs glide were Ferus, Luke, Han and Chewba with their hands in bonds and surrounded by guards, two of them were secretly Lando and Zack in disguise.
"I think my eyes are getting better."Han said. "Instead of a big dark blur, I see a big light blur."
"There's nothing to see."Luke replied. "I used to live here, you know."
"You're gonna die here, you know."Han declared. "Convenient."
"Just stick close to Chewie, Zack and Lando."Ferus ordered. "I've taken care of everything."
"Oh...great!"Han said with an unfazed tone. "Are you going to use your Jedi tricks, old man?"
"Shut it, Solo."Ferus threatened bluntly. "I could have happily left you in the carbonite slab for decades, if Leia didn't have feelings for you."
Luke let out a short laugh causing Han to frown at him.
Inside the Barge Observation Deck…
Jabba's entire retinue was with him, drinking, eating, and having a good time.
Leia and Lisa were watching their friends in the skiff when the chains attached to their necks were pulled tight and Jabba tugged the scantily clad girls to him.
"Soon both of you will learn to appreciate me."Jabba sneered.
Threepio wanders among the Sail Barge aliens, bumping into Artoo, who was serving drinks.
"Oh, I'm terribly sor..."Threepio started and notice it was Artoo. "Artoo! What are you doing here?"
Artoo beeped a quick reply.
"Well, I can see you're serving drinks, but this place is dangerous."Threepio warned. "They're going to execute Master Ferus and Master Luke and, if we're not careful, us too!"
Artoo whistled a positive respond.
"Hmm, I wish I had your confidence."Threepio replied.
Gwen walked over to Artoo bent down.
"Artoo, be sure to act the moment that you see Luke give the signal."Gwen instructed.
Artoo beeped at Gwen as Threepio looked at the young woman.
"What signal, Miss Gwen?"Threepio asked.
Gwen smirked. "You'll see."
In the Desert…
The Convoy moved up over a huge sand pit while the Sail Barge stopped to one side of the depression as does the escort skiff.
At the bottom of the deep cone of sand was a Sarlacc with a mouth filled with thousands of needle-sharp teeth.
A plank was extended from the edge of the prisoner's skiff.
Guards release Luke's bonds and shove him out onto the plank above the Sarlacc's mouth.
Jabba, Leia and Lisa were now by the rail to watch the scene.
Threepio leaned forward and the slobbering slug mumbled something to him.
As Threepio stepped up to a comlink, Jabba raised his arm and the motley array of intergalactic pirates fall silent.
Threepio's voice was amplified across loudspeakers.
"Victims of the almighty Sarlacc!"Threepio called out. "His Excellency hopes that you will die honourably! But should any of you wish to beg for mercy, the great Jabba the Hutt will now listen to your pleas!"
Han stepped forward arrogantly and began to speak.
"Threepio, you tell that slimy piece of worm-ridden filth he'll get no such pleasure from us!"Han shouted. "Right?"
Chewbacca growled in agreement.
"Jabba!"Luke called out. "This is your last chance! Free us or die!"
Lando and Zack carefully moved unobtrusively along the skiff as Luke shoot a quick look of conspiracy to them.
The assembled aliens rock with mocking laughter as Artoo zipped unnoticed up the ramp to the upper deck.
Jabba's laughter subsided as he speaks into the comlink.
"Move him into position."Jabba ordered.
Leia and Lisa looked on in worry while Artoo appeared from below and zipped over to the rail facing the pit.
Below, in the skiff, Luke was prodded by a guard to the edge of the plank over the gaping Sarlacc.
Luke looked up at Artoo, then gives a jaunty salute: the signal that Gwen told the little droid had been waiting for.
A flap opened in Artoo's domed head.
"Put him in."Jabba ordered.
Luke was prodded and jumped off the plank to the cheers of the bloodthirsty spectators.
But, before anyone can even perceive what was happening, Luke spins around and grabs the end of the plank by his fingertips.
The plank bends wildly from his weight and catapults him skyward.
In midair, Luke does a complete flip and drops down on the end of the plank in the same spot he just vacated, but facing the skiff.
The blonde haired boy casually extended an open palm and his lightsaber, which Artoo has sent arcing toward him, dropped into his hand.
With quick speed, Luke ignited his green blade and attacks the guard who prodded him off the plank, sending the hapless aloen screaming overboard.
The other guards swarm toward Luke. He wades into them, lightsaber flashing.
Zack removed his helmet and activated his hidden lightsaber to set Ferus free before the two of them went to help Luke.
Leia, Lisa and Gwen watched the fight on with relief.
Lando struggled with another guard at the back of the skiff.
A bewildered guard landed in the soft, sandy slope of the pit and began sliding.
He claws desperately as a Sarlacc tentacle grabbed him and pulled him screaming into the viscous mouth.
Jabba watched the sight in rage as he barked commands and the guards around him rush off to do his bidding.
The followers of Jabba watch the action from the window were in an uproar.
Luke knocked another guard off the skiff and into the waiting mouth of the Sarlacc.
The blonde haired boy started to untie Chewbacca bonds.
"Easy, Chewie."Luke instructed.
At that moment, the deck gunmen on the barge unleash a series of blasts from a big cannon on the upper deck.
Lando was tossed from the deck of the rocking skiff, but he managed to grab a rope, and dangles desperately above the Sarlacc pit.
"Whoa!"Lando shouted in terror. "Whoa! Help!"
With two swift strides, Boba Fett ignited his rocket pack, leaped into the air and flew from the barge down to the skiff.
Luke, Ferus and Zack spun their lightsabers rapidly, cutting through Jabba's guards and lackeys.
Boba landed on the skiff and started to aim his laser gun at Luke, who had freed Han and Chewbacca from their bonds.
Ferus blocked his blaster bolts with his lightsaber and circled with the bounty hunter.
"The credits that Lord Vader will reward me for your head will set me for life."Boba Fett declared.
"Don't count it, Fett."Ferus retorted. "You'll be dead before you realise."
Boba stepped back and shot his grappling cable at Ferus, wrapping it around him.
Ferus struggled to free himself and flipped his saber up to cut through the cable.
Luke and Zack jumped over to the other transport and began fighting off the oncoming lackeys.
But before Boba can fire, Ferus spins on him, lightsaber sweeping and hacks the bounty hunter's gun in half.
Immediately, the skiff takes another direct hit from the barge's deck gun as its shards deck fly.
Chewbacca and Han were thrown against the rail.
"Chewie, you okay?"Han asked. "Where is he?"
The Wookiee was wounded as he howled in pain.
"I'm okay, pal."Han assured.
As Ferus struggled to free himself from the strong cable, Boba took out his knife to kill him.
However, Ferus bends his wrist so the lightsaber points straight up to reach the wire lasso and cuts through.
Ferus held his lightsaber and moved out of the way as Boba Fett went up on his jet pack to start attacking with his flame thrower.
"Han!"Lando called out. "Chewie!"
"Lando!"Han shouted.
Han and Chewbacca were trying to rescue Lando, who was hanging by a thread over the pit.
Luke and Zack slashed down the guards that were firing their weapons at them on the second skiff.
Boba Fett flew closer and activated his flame thrower again to burn Ferus, but the Jedi Knight easily dodged him.
Thinking quickly, Ferus flipped over Boba Fett to slash squarely in the middle of his jet pack.
The slash of the jedi's blade caused the rocket pack to ignite.
Boba blasted off, flying over the second skiff like a missile, smashing against the side of the huge Sail Barge and sliding away into the pit.
Boba Fett screamed as his armoured body makes its last flight past Lando and directly into the mucous mouth of the Sarlacc, making the monstrous creature burp.
Inside the Barge Observation Deck…
Leia and Lisa watched their companions turn the tables around for them, but both knew it was time to make their escape as well.
With Artoo's help, Gwen was able to shut the lights down causing the crowd to scream in panic.
Using the distraction, Leia and Lisa leaped onto Jabba's throne and throws the chain that enslaves them over his head around his bulbous neck.
Together, Leia and Lisa dived off the other side of the throne, pulled the chain violently in their grasp.
Jabba's flaccid neck contracted beneath the tightening chain.
Then his huge eyes bulge from their sockets and his scum-coated tongue flopped out.
The Hutt's huge tail spasms through his death throes and then slammed down into final stillness.
Artoo then zapped through their chains with his plasma ray.
"Come on."Leia said. "We need to get out of here."
Gwen, Leia and Lisa followed Artoo in the dark to make their escape.
In the Desert…
Ferus, Luke and Zack continued to destroy the guards on the second skiff as Han extended his spear downward to Lando, who was still dangling precariously from a rope on the prisoner's skiff.
"Lando, grab it!"Han called out.
"Lower it!"Lando protested.
"I'm trying!"Han snapped.
A major hit from the barge deck gun knocked the skiff on its side.
Han and almost everything else on board slides overboard.
The rope breaks and Lando falls to the side of the Sarlacc pit.
Luckily, Han's foot catches on the skiff railing and he dangled above Lando and the pit.
The wounded Wookiee holds onto the skiff for dear life as another hit from the deck gun rocks the skiff violently.
"Whoa! Whoa!"Han yelled. "Grab me, Chewie! I'm slipping!"
Chewie grabbed hold of Han's feet, holding him upside down as Han extended the spear toward Lando, who was clutching to the side of the pit.
"Grab it! L-Lando!"Han demanded. "Grab!"
Ferus, Luke and Zack finished off the last guards on the second skiff.
The three Jedi see the deck gun blasting away at his helpless companions.
Ferus, Luke and Zack leaped from the skiff, across a chasm of air, to the sheer metallic side of the Sail Barge.
Three guards peeled out of the windows to use their blasters, but Ferus and his young relatives yanked them out and into the deadly pit.
The injured Chewbacca was reaching over the rail for the dangling Han, who is in turn blindly reaching down toward the desperate Lando.
Every time Lando tried to reach for Han, the loose sand moves him closer to his final reward.
"Grab it!"Han ordered. "Almost...You almost got it!"
Another blast hits the front of the tilted skiff causing Lando to let go of the spear.
"Hold it!"Lando called out. "Whoa!"
Again Han extended the spear toward Lando.
"Gently now. All...all right."Han instructed. "Now easy, easy. Hold me, Chewie."
Lando began screaming when one of the Sarlacc's tentacles wrapped tightly around his ankle, dragging him down the side of the pit.
"Chewie! Chewie, give me the gun!"Han ordered. "Don't move, Lando!"
"I thought you were blind!"Lando shouted.
"It's all right! Trust me!"Han assured. "Don't move!"
"All right! A little higher!"Lando protested. "Just a little higher!"
Han adjusted his aim as Lando lowered his head, and the fuzzy-eyed pirate fired at the tentacle.
The tentacle released Lando after getting hit and Chewbacca started to pull them on board the skiff.
"Chewie, Pull us up!"Han ordered. "Come on! Okay...up, Chewie, up!"
The deck gunners have Chewbacca and the desperate dangling human chain in their gun sights when Ferus, Luke and Zack up on deck earned their attention.
Ferus, Luke and Zack activated their lightsabers to attack their opponents.
The deck gunners barely reached for their pistols before the Jedi had demolished them.
Immediately, Ferus and Luke, Zack turn to see two more gunners (who have been uncovering a giant gun at the end of the barge) racing for them, firing their laser pistols.
Artoo, Gwen, Leia and Lisa race for the exit, passing Threepio, who was kicking and screaming as Salacious picked out one of the golden droid's eyes.
"Not my eyes! Artoo, help!"Threepio panicked. "Quickly, Artoo! Oh! Ohhh! You beast!"
Artoo zipped over and zapped Salacious, sending him skyward with a scream, crashing into the rafters as the three young women and the two droids (with his eye dangling from a wire) hurry off.
Ferus, Luke and Zack warding off laser blasts with his lightsaber, surrounded by guards and fighting.
Leia, Lisa and Gwen emerged onto the deck as the three Jedi turned to face another guard.
"Get the gun!"Luke ordered. "Point it at the deck!"
Leia turned toward the barge cannon, climbed on the platform and swivels the gun around.
"Point it at the deck!"Luke ordered.
Gwen activates her lightsaber to slash down the guard that was going to hit Luke.
Lisa used the Force to pick up a dead guard's blaster to shoot an upcoming guard.
Near the rail of the upper deck, Artoo beeped wildly as he and Threepio steady themselves.
"Artoo, where are we going?"Threepio asked. "I couldn't possibly jump."
Artoo butts the golden droid over the edge and steps off himself, tumbling toward the sand.
Luke runs along the empty deck toward Leia and the barge gun, which she had brought around to point down at the deck.
"Come on!"Ferus yelled out.
Ferus wrapped Lisa around the waist to swing them to the skiff, where Han, Lando and Chewbacca were.
Leia held onto Zack as the two of them swung on a rope and landed on the skiff as well.
"Ready, Gwen?"Luke asked.
Gwen gives Luke a kiss on the cheek.
"I was born ready."Gwen answered with a smirk.
Luke held on one of the rigging ropes from the mast before gathering Gwen in his other arm and kicked the trigger of the deck gun.
The gun exploded into the deck as Luke and Gwen swing out toward the skiff to join their companions.
Han leaned panting against the rail as Chewbacca, Zack and Ferus help Lando onto the deck while Luke and Gwen land on the skiff with flair.
"Nadia, where are you?"Ferus demanded while holding his comlink. "We're done here."
"Hang on."Nadia instructed. "I'm on my way."
Lisa turned around, just in time to see the Sail Barge explode in the distance.
Threepio's legs stick straight up from the dune where he landed.
Next to the gold droid, Artoo's periscope was the only thing above the sand.
The skiff floated above them and two large electromagnets dangle down on a wire.
With a loud clang, both droids were pulled from the sand.
The little skiff skipped around the burning Sail Barge, which continued its chain of explosions.
As the skiff sails off across the desert, the barge settles to the sand and disappeared in one final conflagration.
Nadia rode the Millennium Falcon into a ferocious sandstorm and landed it down to pick up her relatives and companions.
The group emerge slowly from the veil of sand, pressing on against the wind.
First come Artoo and Threepio, followed by Leia guiding Han, then Ferus, Gwen, Lisa, Luke, and Lando come into view, each supporting one side of the towering Chewbacca, who hobbled from his wound.
"Han, can you see anything?"Zack asked.
"I don't know!"Han responded. "All I can see is a lot of blowing sand!"
"That's all any of us can see."Leia commented.
As soon as the group huddled under the bulk of the Falcon, the ramp of the ship lowered revealing Nadia inside.
The group headed inside as Nadia handed robes for Gwen, Leia and Lisa to cover the inappropriate clothes they were wearing.
"Go and get changed."Nadia instructed. "There are your clothes waiting for you."
Gwen, Leia and Lisa went to change as Han looked at Luke.
"I've got to hand it to you, kid, you were pretty good out there."Han remarked.
"I had a lot of help."Luke said, gesturing to Ferus and Zack. "Think nothing of it."
"What did it feel like being frozen in carbonite, Han?"Zack asked.
"No, I'm thinking a lot about it."Han chuckled. "That carbon freeze was the closest thing to dead there is. And it wasn't just sleeping. It was a big wide awake nothing!"
Luke nodded as Chewbacca growled affectionately at him, mussing his hair.
Nadia warmly hugged Ferus, Luke and Zack, feeling happy that all of them were safe.
"I never doubted any of you for a minute."Nadia stated proudly. "You are all fine Jedi Knights."
Zack smiled. "Thanks, mum."
"Me and Lisa will see you all back in the fleet."Luke stated. "We have a promise we have to keep first...to an old friend."
Ferus nodded, knowing Luke was talking about Master Yoda.
As soon as Lisa was dressed in her normal clothing, she along with Luke and Artoo take off in their spacecrafts to head to Dagobah.
"We'll meet you back at the fleet."Lisa declared.
"Hurry."Leia instructed. "The Alliance should be assembled by now."
"We will will."Luke answered.
"Hey, Luke. Thanks."Han thanked. "Thanks for coming after me. I owe you one."
Artoo beeped a respond.
"That's right, R2."Luke agreed. "We're going to the Dagobah system."
Artoo beeped another respond.
"Like Luke said."Lisa said with a firm tone. "We'll promise to keep. An old friend."
Next chapter is Luke and Lisa will head to Dagobah to talk to Master Yoda one last time before heading to Endor with the Rebel Alliance. See you all in the next chapter:)
