Chapter 13
The Ark
Kane were in Jaha's room. "At 1930 hours, all hatches and vents leading to section 17 will be sealed. It will appear to ba a malfunction the fire containment system." Kane tells Jaha.
"So, it'll look like and accident." Jaha says.
"It's essential to maintaining public order after the culling takes place. All residents of section 17 will be in their sleep period. The council has already issued a writ of consent giving the Chancellor permission to carry out the population reduction. A sleep-inducing gas will be introduced into the air. On your command, the oxygen to section 17 will be cut off. It should be painless. Document needs your approval." Kane says as he hands Jaha a tablet. Jaha grabs it.
"You have it. With one alteration a. You'll give the order to cut off the oxygen." Jaha says as he stands up and hands Kane back the tablet.
"I don't have the authority." Kane says.
"In your capacity as Chancellor. Tonight, I will be in section 17 inspecting the repairs from the hull, and when those doors are closed on those people, their fate will be my fate." Jaha says.
"Your fate? Jaha, don't do this." Kane says.
"My mind is made up. Im leaving you in terrible times, Marcus, but you...you have a strength that is not weakend by sentiment. And that's exactly what it's going to take for us to survive." Jaha says. Kane stares in shock.
The ground
Octavia was heading back to camp the woods before she hears a rustle in the bushes, she stops. She looks around as the rustling continues, she starts to runs. She runs through the woods, moving through branches jumping over wood as she stops by a hill. She starts to walk down the hill as she trips on a rock and starts to fall down the hill. She starts to tumble down the hill as she collapsed to the ground, badly injured and unconscious.
Bellamy was walking through the woods as Clarke races up to him.
"Hey!" She shouts. He stops and looks and her. "Where is it?" Clarke asks.
"Hey princess," Bellamy said casually. " You taking a walk in the woods?"
"Are you joking? They're getting ready to kill 300 people up there to save oxygen. And I can sure as hell guarantee you it won't be council members. It'll be working people. Your people." Clarke says.
"Bellamy." Wells says as he runs up and shoved Bellamy away from Clarke.
"Where's the radio?" Wells asks.
"I have no idea what you're talking about." Bellamy responded angrily shoving Wells in return.
"Hey asshole." Raven says as she approached in front of Bellamy, with Finn following behind her.
"Bellamy Blake? They're looking every where for you." Raven says.
"Shut up." Bellamy says.
"What is she talking about?" Clarke ask Bellamy. His fists clench at his sides. "Bellamy, if you don't tell us where the radio is, they're going to sacrifice 300 people to save oxygen. Their lives are in your hands!" Clarke exclaimed.
Bellamy glances down at her. "It's too late," he mutters as he walks away. Raven dashes in front of him.
"Hey shooter, where's the radio?"
"Get out of my way." Bellamy says with anger rising in his voice.
"Where is it?" Raven asked combatively.
"I should've killed you when I had the chance." Bellamy says.
"Really," Raven said quietly. "Well I'm right here."
Bellamy lunges toward her, his large hand grabbing her around the throat and shoving her against a tree. Raven brandishes her switchblade just under Bellamy's nose.
"You'd rather let 300 innocent people die than to face the consequences, huh?" Raven sneers. Bellamy's grip on her throat tightens.
"Bellamy, what did you do?" Clarke asks.
Raven doesn't look away from Bellamy as she answers. "He shot the Chancellor."
"He what?" Wells roars, grabbing Bellamy by the collar of his jacket and swinging him off Raven. He rounds on him, but before Wells can lay a hand on him Raven continues.
"And he's a lousy shot."
Bellamy drops his arms. "What?"
Raven rubs her throat, stepping forward. "You didn't kill him. One: you're a shitty shot. Two: Abby patched him up, good as new." Her voice is gentler when she addresses Wells. "Your dad is fine."
Wells visibly relaxes, stepping away from Bellamy with a deep sigh. Clarke rushes forward, giving Bellamy a strong poke in the chest.
"You see? You're not a murder." His eyes bore into hers. "You did what you had to do to protect your sister. That's who you are, Bellamy. And you can do it again, by protecting 300 of your people." Clarke says.
"Where's the radio?" Finn finishes.
Bellamy shakes his head. "It's too late." He said.
