Chapter 15
About an hour later, Bellamy were walking around camp, looking for Octavia with a torch in his hand. "Octavia! Octavia!" He calls out. He moves the flap in Clarke's tent, she looks at him. "Your up?" Bellamy asks. Clarke walks out the tent.
"Yeah, knowing hundreds of innocent people might be dying on the Ark makes it hard to sleep." Clarke says.
"Raven's flares will work." Bellamy argues.
"Her radio would've been better." Clarke says back. Bellamy glares at her.
"Have you seen Octavia?" Bellamy asks.
"No, she's probably chasing butterflies." Clarke says.
"Clarke, I've checked all around camp, she's not here." Bellamy says.
"Ok, I'll help you you look. Lets check again," Clarke says as they start to walk. "You go to the dropship, I'll check the rest of these tents." She says. "Thank you." Bellamy says.
"Don't thank me. I'm not doing this for you, "I'm doing it for Octavia." Clarke says.
In a cave
Octavia slowly open her eyes and wakes up. She leans up and groans of pain. She looks at her busted up, badly bruised knee. She hears a noise. She tries to get up and run but falls. She screams in pain. A grounder approached with a heated knife. Octavia held her hand out.
"Please, please don't hurt me." Octavia pleaded. The grounder gets closer. Octavia continues to beg for mercy as the grounder grabs her leg and pulls her closer. Octavia screams. "DON'T, PLEASE!!!" The grounder held her down and held the knife up and puts the knife to her bruised knee.
Camp
Bellamy gathers around. Jasper, Wells, and a few others join in. "Hey everybody, gather around and grab a weapon." He says as he drops some weapon on the floor.
"My sister's been gone for 12 hours. Arm up, we're not coming back without her. A couple kids grabs the weapons, including Wells. Jasper reaches to grab a weapon but Clarke stops him. "Jasper, you don't have to do this. You haven't left camp since we brought you back." Clarke says.
"Look, Clarke, I need to do this." Jasper says.
"Jasper's right. We're gonna need all the people we can get." Wells says as he walks up to the teens. Clarke sighs. "Ok, be careful." Clarke tells Jasper.
"Thank you, Clarke." Jasper says.
"We're gonna need a tracker." Bellamy says.
Finn were in his tent with Raven cutting his hair short up to the length up his ears.
"Hey do you wanna lose an ear? Can't believe you let it get so long in lockup." Raven says.
"This couldn't wait till morning?" Finn asks.
"I was inspired, so. What did you want to talk about?" Raven asks. Finn stays quiet for a second.
"Nothing, it can wait." Finn says.
"Hey, that wasn't your 'nothing' face. That was your 'going on a spacewalk' face." Raven says.
"Alright, no more spacewalks." Finn says. Raven nods and kisses him in the lips.
"Finn get out here." Bellamy said from outside.
"Alright, I'm coming." Finn says as he walks out the tent. He walks up to Clarke.
"Hey, hey, wait." Finn says as Clarke stops and looks at him.
"Nice hair." Clarke said casually.
"Yeah, look, we should talk about this." Finn said.
"You have a girlfriend, Finn. There's really nothing left to say." Clarke said as she tries to walk away, but Finn grabs her arm.
"Hey, hold on. It's true. I care about Raven. But you and me, we started something." Finn says.
"It's nothing we can't stop." Clarke says.
"Are you sure? Because I'm not." Finn said. Clarke looks at him for a moment.
"Guys, guys, come here!" A teen called out. Clarke walks over to them, with Finn following behind her.
"Look up there." Jasper says as he points in the sky. They look up and sees multiple comets falling from the sky.
"It didn't work. They didn't see the flares." Raven says as she walks out of her tent.
"A meteor shower tells you that?" Bellamy asked.
"It's not a meteor shower," Clarke says.
"It's a funeral." Wells finishes. Clarke nods.
"Hundreds of bodies being returned from the Ark to Earth. This is what it looks like from the other side." Clarke said.
"They didn't get our message." Finn says. Raven looks at Bellamy in anger and lunges at him. Finn and Wells hold her back. "This is all because of you!" Raven snapped.
"I help you find the radio!" Bellamy snapped back.
"Yeah after you trashed it, you fucking prick!" Raven yelled.
"Yeah, he knows. And know he has to live with it." Wells says as he glares at him. Bellamy glares back.
"Look, all I know is that my sister is out there and I'm gonna find her. You coming or what?" Bellamy asked. Wells and Finn nods. "Then what are we waiting for? Move out." Bellamy says as he walks away with his group.
"We have to talk to them. 300 won't be enough. The oxygen level will just be dropping. If we don't tell them that they can survive down here, they'll kill more people than they have to." Clarke says.
"Guys, they're leaving we gotta go." Jasper says. Finn nods as he walks away but Raven grabs his arm. "Hey," Raven says as she kisses him. Clarke and Wells watches from behind. Raven pulls back. "I love you." She says.
"I love you too." Finn says as he looks at Clarke and walks away. Wells gets in front of Raven and Clarke.
"Look, Clarke, I gotta do this," Wells tells her. Clarke nods. Wells looks at Raven. "And you should stay and fix the radio." He tells her.
"Fix it? The transmitter's trashed. Unless there's a parts depot down here, we're not talking to the Ark." Raven says.
"Art supply store." Clarke says. She looks at Raven. "I know place you might be able to get a transmitter." Clarke says.
"Great, looks like you're coming with me." Raven says.
"Wells, we're not gonna do this without you, man." Jasper says. Wells nods as he looks at Clarke. "Be careful." he says. "Yeah, you too." Clarke says as she hugs Wells. Wells nods as he walks away, Jasper follows.
"Come on, it's this way." Clarke tells Raven as she cocks her head behind them and walks away, Raven follows.
In the cave
Octavia opens her eyes and quickly leans up. She breathes hard and looks around.
"Hello, is anybody there." Octavia asked. She looks at her knee. "He fixed it?" She asked. She slowly gets up and stumbles a bit. She stumbles around the cave and looks around. She looks up and sees the moon shining. She reaches and grabs a deer horn for defense and walk her way through the cave and stops and looks at a wall and sees loose rocks. She moves the dirt and pulls the loose rocks and sees a hole to outside, she climbs in. "I'm not afraid, I'm not afraid." Octavia tell herself as she continues to climb.
Bellamy's group
Bellamy's group walks through the woods. "Look over here!" Mbege yells. Everybody comes over. "Right there, you see it? Is that Octavia's" Mbege asks as he points at a piece of cloth on a bush.
"Rope," Bellamy says. They hand him the rope.
"What are you doing?" Wells asks.
"We're gonna need the rope to get back up," Bellamy says. "Flashlight," Bellamy says. Mbege hands him a flashlight, and Bellamy goes down the hill. Bellamy grabs the cloth. "It's hers," Bellamy says. I"m going all the way down," Bellamy says. Jasper goes to the rope. He hands Wells the torch, he grabs it.
Jasper goes to the bottom and sees Bellamy touching blood. He looks at Jasper. Wells and Finn come next. "Someone else was here," Bellamy says. Finn looks at the footprints. "The prints go deeper going that way." Finn says. "He was carrying her." Bellamy says. The rest if the group comes down.
"If they took her. She's alive," Jasper says. "Like when they took me," Jasper says. Bellamy nods as they head forward. They walk through the woods until they come across skeletons tied up on trees.
"I don't speak grounder, but I'm pretty sure that means keep out," Finn says.
"Let's get out of here," One of the hundred says. A few more agree.
"Go back if you want. My sister my responsibility," Bellamy says as he goes through the skeletons.
"I'd walk into hell to find her." Jasper says as he follows. Wells, Finn, and four others follow.
"I think we just did." Wells says as they follow.
The cave
It was starting to become daytime. Octavia climbs her way outside. She tumbles to the floor. She exhales and gets up and moves forward.
With Clarke and Raven
Clarke and Raven were walking through the woods. Raven stops and looks at some orange flowers. Clarke stops and looks at her. Raven crouches down and touch the flowers. "They're beautiful." She says.
"Raven, I know you just got here yesterday, but we don't have time for this, come on." Clarke says. Raven picks up the flower and follows.
"Hurry up and save the world. You're just like your mom." She says.
"I'm nothing like my mom." Clarke says.
"Relax, that's complement. Abby's a badass." Raven says. Clarke shakes he head.
"The pod was her idea. It broke her heart not being able to come down with me, but she never stopped believing you were alive." Raven says.
"Yeah, mother of the Year." Clarke says casually.
"Well, my mom was awol most of my life. When she did showed up, it was empty handed. Pretty sure she had me just to trade in my rations for moonshine." Raven says as they stop. Clarke moves the leaves to the hatch to the bunker. "How'd you survive?" Clarke asked Raven.
"Boy next door, Finn." Raven says. Clarke stops. "He shared his rations. Remembered my birthday. Saved my life. He's my family." Raven says with a smile. Clarke opens the hatch. They get in.
Bellamy's group
Bellamy, Finn, Wells, Jasper, and four delinquents were walking through the woods. "I got nothing," Finn says with a sigh. "We lost the trail," Finn says.
"Keep looking," Bellamy says as they walk forwards. Mbege is grabbed by a grounder and taken up a tree branch over them.
"Wandering around aimlessly isn't the way to find your sister. We should backtrack," Finn says.
"I'm not going back," Bellamy says. Roma looks around and notices John Mbege is missing.
"Hey, where's John?" Roma asks.
"I just saw him a second ago," Jasper says.
"Spread out he couldn't have gotten far," Wells says. They start to move when Mbege's body falls to the ground. His throat slit. Wells, Bellamy, and Finn Walk over to the body. Wells looks up.
"They use the trees," Wells says.
"We shouldn't have crossed the boundary." Monroe says.
"Now, can we go back?" Roma asks.
"There." Jasper says as he points at a grounder.
"Another one," Finn says. They look around.
"We should run," Wells says. Bellamy nods as they start to run.
The bunker
"Let's try this one." Clarke says as she sets a box down and looks inside. Raven looks around. "How do you find this place?" Raven asks.
"I didn't, Finn found it." Clarke said as she grabs an r.c. car. "Hey, will this work?" Clarke asks Raven. Raven walks over and grabs the toy car. "Sweet. R.F. Radio frequency." Raven says as she sets the car down and looks around. "If we could just find the controller. We'll be golden." Raven says.
"Alright." Clarke says as they look for the controller. Raven stops and looks at the two-headed deer replica Finn made. She crouches down and grabs it. "Finn made this." She says with a smile.
"Huh?" Clarke asked. Raven showed her the replica. "Oh, uh, yeah." Clarke says as she turns around. Not trying to show Raven the suspicious look on her face. "Uh, we saw this two-headed deer on our first day on the ground. Welcome to paradise, right?" Clarke asked. Raven's smile slowly fades as she takes a look at her Raven necklace then back at the Two-headed deer.
"Got it." Clarke says. Raven walks over two her. Clarke turns around, she takes the Two-headed deer and puts it on the table and hands Raven the controller.
"Finn always dies that. Finds the beauty in the unexpected." Raven says as she screws the controller.
"Good to go?" Clarke asked.
"Hurry up and save the world, right? Yeah, we're good." Raven says.
"Okay." Clarke says as she walks to the ladder. Raven turns and grabs the two headed deer off the table and blows the candle out and follows Clarke.
With Bellamy's group
Bellamy and his group were running through the woods with the grounders chasing behind them. They're faces filled with sweat. They run, jumping over logs and wood, running past trees. Bellamy was in front. Wells were next to him. Finn were behind them. Monroe and a man named Diggs were in the middle. Jasper was in the back.
"What are we gonna do? They keep heading us off." Diggs says.
"Just keep running," Finn says.
"I can't run much longer," Jasper says.
"I'm not stopping for him," Diggs says. Bellamy stops.
"I'm sick of running anyway," Bellamy says. Wells turns around and grabs his arm.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Wells asks.
"They know where she is," Bellamy says. Roma notices Diggs were missing.
"Diggs, where are you?" Roma asks as she starts to run for him.
"Roma," Diggs says from a distance. Bellamy, Wells, Finn, Monroe, and Jasper start to run after her.
Diggs were running in the woods as he trips a trip wire. He turns around and looks back and sees a log swings toward him with a pole sticking out and stabbed him through his heart. Roma runs and sees Diggs body. She screams of fear and runs around him.
"Wait Roma!" Wells Shouts.
"There could be more," Finn says asthey stop at Diggs' body. Finn, Wells, and Bellamy looks at the body.
"They were leading us here, It's the only direction we could run in," Jasper says.
"Hey, where'd they go?" Finn asks.
"After Roma," Bellamy says as they start to run again.
With Octavia
Octavia were walking in the woods. She hears a scream. She stops and looks. A grounder grabs her and takes her away. Octavia struggles to get free off the grounders arms. The grounder puts his hand around Octavia's mouth as they look and sees Roma running across the woods. Roma runs until a spear goes through Her chest into a tree. Blood flies out her mouth. The grip on the grounder's hand tightens. He lets go and grabs Octavia and runs. The grounder had Octavia in his arms as he walks back to the cave. Octavia looks at him. The grounder had long, thick, black paint across his eyes.
"You saved my life. Thank you." Octavia says. The grounder stays quiet and doesn't look at her.
"That girl out there, I knew her. So, of she's out there, then so is my brother. Please, you have to help him too. They'll kill him." Octavia says. The grounder stays quiet. Octavia sighs. "You don't understand me, do you? Great." Octavia says. The grounder takes Octavia into the cave. He sets her down. "Why are you taking care of me? You found me at the bottom of that ravine. Fixed my knee." Octavia says as the grounder grabs a chain and wraps it around Octavia's wrist. "Hey, what are you doing?" She asks.
"Please, don't do this." She pleaded as the grounder dragged her away by the chains."Ow! Please don't no please don't, please!!" She cries out as the grounder grabs the other side of the chain to a pole and walks away. Octavia cries in her hands.
With Bellamy's group
They run until they see Roma by a tree.
"There she is. Roma!" Monroe says. Bellamy goes over sees the spear in her chest. The rest stays behind.
"They're playing with us," Wells says. Bellamy closes Roma's eyes. "She only came because of me," He said quietly.
"They can kill us whenever they want," Finn says.
"Then they should get it over with! Come on!" Jasper yells. Wells and Finn go over to him. "Jasper, stop! Come on!" Finn yelled "We know you're out there! You want to kill us!" Jasper continues to yell as Finn and Wells tried to stop him. Monroe sees grounders.
"Bellamy!" Monroe yells. They were surrounded by grounders. "We're surrounded." Finn says. They hear a horn blow. The grounders evacuate.
"They're leaving," Bellamy says as the horn goes off again.
"That horn. What does it mean?" Jasper asks.
"Acid fog," Wells says. Finn pulls out a parachute.
"We have to run," Monroe says.
"No time," Finn says as he covers them. They were under the cover waiting.
"How long are we supposed to wait?" Jasper asks.
"Will this even work?" Wells asks.
"We'll find out," Finn says.
"No, we won't," Bellamy says as he lifts the parachute. "There's no fog," Bellamy says as they get up.
"Maybe it was a false alarm," Finn says. They see a grounder. "They're coming back," Bellamy says. "I think he's alone," Jasper says. "Now, can we run?" Monroe asks.
"He doesn't see us. I'm going after him," Bellamy says. "And what? Kill him?" Wells asks.
"No. Catch him. Make him tell me where Octavia is, then kill him," Bellamy says as he follows the grounder.
"How do we know he's not leading us into another trap?" Jasper asks.
"We don't," Finn says as He follows.
With Raven and Clarke
They were back at camp. Raven were in the dropship working on tbe radio. Clarke walks in.
"Any luck?" Clarke asks. Raven doesn't answer.
"Hey are you okay you hardly said a word on the way back." Clarke said. Raven stands up and looks at Clarke and shows her the two-headed deer, biting the inside of her tongue.
"Raven." Clarke says. "Tell me it isn't true. Tell me Finn didn't made this for you. Tell me you weren't fucking my boyfriend as I was risking my ass to come down here!" Raven shouts angrily. Clarke shakes her head.
"I can't tell you that." Clarke says. Both Raven's and Clarke's eyes were red, watery.
"Yeah? Well he made one for me too." Raven says as she shows Clarke her necklace."Just in case you thought you were special." Raven hisses as she turns away from her.
"Did you think I wanted this? I didn't even know you existed." Clarke says as Ra ven turns back and looks at her.
"Look, as far as he knew, you were dead, Raven. Or you would've been soon enough. My mom too, and everyone we ever knew on the Ark, and there was nothing we could've done to stop it." Clarke says, voice shaky. Raven shakes her head.
"He could've waited more that 5 days." Raven says, voice trembling. She sniffs and wipes her eyes and sits back down. Clarke walks away. "Do you love him?" Raven asked. Clarke turns around. "I hardly know him." Clarke says as she walks out. Raven pits her head down and throws her necklace on the desk and sobs.
In the cave
The grounder walks over to Octavia. She looks at him and hits him in the head with a rock. He falls to the ground. Octavia sees a key and grabs it and tries to unlock the chains off her hands. She hears footsteps behind her and sees Bellamy, Finn, Wells, Monroe, And Jasper walk in.
"Bellamy?" Octavia asks.
"Octavia," Bellamy says as he goes to his sister. Finn walks up to the grounder. "Get the key." Octavia tells Bellamy. He nods as he tries to unlock the chains "Monroe watch the entrance," Bellamy says. He unlocks the chain. Octavia geta up and him tightly. She pulls back and looks at Jasper. "How'd you find me?" Octavia asks as she goes up and hugs him. Jasper smiles. "Followed Finn." He says. Octavia pulls back. "We need to go. Now, before he wakes up." Octavia warns them. "He's not going to." Bellamy says as he grabs a spear. Finn crouches down beside the grounder and looks at a horn. "Bellamy, don't. He didn't hurt me let's go." Octavia tells the older Blake. "They started this." Bellamy says. Finn doesn't listen to them talk as he looks at the horn. "Finn, move," Bellamy says.
"Foghorn," Finn says. The grounder quickly gets up and stabs Finn in the chest. He falls back as he sweeps Bellamy off his feet. Bellamy gets up and swings the spear at the grounder. He dodges it and grabs the spear and trips Bellamy once again. He gets on top of him and tries to stab him with the spear. Bellamy grabs it. He struggles, his face turning red. "STOP!! THAT'S MY BROTHER!!!" Octavia cries out. Wells hits the grounder i over the head, knocking him out again. They walk over to Finn. They take him and leave. They walk into camp.
"Clarke, where's Clarke?" Jasper yells as he comes in. Clarke comes over with Raven. Bellamy carries Finn in. "Finn, Finn?" Clarke asks as she runs over to him and checks his pulse.
"Oh my God." Raven says from behind.
"He's alive," Clarke says.
"Bellamy wouldn't let me take the knife out," Jasper says.
"No, that's a good call. Get him in the dropship." Clarke says. The teens takes him to the dropship.Raven walks over to Clarke.
"Clarke! Can you save him?" Raven asks.
"No, not me. I need my mother." Clarke says. Raven puts her hand over her head.
"There's still no radio." Raven says.
"Raven, fix it, go!" Clarke shouts. Raven runs into the dropship. Clarke follows. Bellamy walks over to Octavia.
"Hey, hey, why were you defending him?" Bellamy asks.
"Because, he saved my life. That spear that hit Roma actually meant-" Octavia says.
"No you're wrong. I saved your life." Bellamy cuts her off.
"For all we know, he was keeping you alive as bait for one of their traps. Like they did Jasper!" Bellamy shouts.
"No, I don't think so." Octavia says.
"You don't think O! That's the problem. They killed 3 of our people today. Almost killed me. And If you would've let me kill him when I had the chance, Finn wouldn't be in there dying right know!" Bellamy yells.
"STOP BLAMING ME FOR YOUR MISTAKES!! What happened to Finn is not my fault. I wanted to live. So if Finn dies in there, that's on you! Everything that's gone wrong is because of you. You got me locked up on the Ark. YOU WANTED ME TO GO TO THAT STUPID DANCE!! YOU GOT MOM KILLED!!!" Octavia rages. Bellamy laughs mirthlessly.
"Me?" Bellamy says sniffling. Our mother was floated for having you. She's dead because you're alive. That was her choice. I didn't have a choice. My life ended the DAY yours started." Bellamy says. Octavia and Bellamy looks at each other with tears filling their eyes. Octavia walks away, sobbing. Bellamy watches her walk away. He looks at a teen outside the tent.
"Get inside." Bellamy tells him. The teen walks in. Bellamy looks up in the sky and sees the clouds turning grey. "A storms coming." Bellamy says as he closes the gate.
