Kara Kara Bazaar was unusual packed. He had been here before but like he also said he never went into Gerudo Town. His first time he had almost fought the gatekeepers. Gerudo were tall, and muscular as all hell for women. Unbelievable power behind them and they're army can fight a war down to the bone.

He's been around areas of the desert, but this was his first time actually going into the town. Next thing he knew they were at the gate, new gatekeepers in which he breathed a sigh of relief that they didn't recognize him. Walking into the town was probably the hardest part. The Queen took her time waving and greeting the Gerudo people who shot him dirty looks for a split second before they're eyes turned into sparkles at the Queen.

They made it to the top steps of the throne room, sitting in the chair was a beautiful red hair that was out in the back of her tied hair. Her blue lipstick made her lips sparkle in the daylight. Her beautiful features could make a normal man buckle at his knees. Her unbelievably perfect soft legs that stood in some expensive heels. She had on leg crossed over the other as she sit comfortably on the throne waiting for us to be in range of her. A gigantic muscular Gerudo twice the size of Xeri threw a glare towards his way, him meeting it. They finally made it over to the throne whilst the Gerudo stood up flashing her pearly whites in a smile.

"My dearest friend." She said softly embracing her into a long and lovely hug. Xeri stood there arms crossed waiting for this to be over. They finally separated before Urbosa's eyes darted for her belly where the unborn child. "She's coming soon. Do you have any names?"

"I'm thinking Zelda. But Rhoam doesn't like it." He crinkled his eyebrow. Zelda? That was a soft name. He kinda liked it but it wasn't his business. The Gerudo landed her eyes on Xeri in which a flirtatious look took its place on her face.

"Well. Who are you?" She said walking towards him. She took her time admiring his figure. He stood still feeling his heart pump. A lanky fingers skimmed around his biceps. "The Queen didn't mention you."

"Urbosa please, let's keep this professional." The pregnant Queen made her way toward her. "This is my newly appointed knight, Xeri."

"Xeri? Pretty name." His name rolled off of Urbosa's tongue perfectly sending a chill down his spine.

"Urbosa. We have business to discuss." The Queen said now more sternly. Urbosa snapped out of the trance. Her face looked in the direction of the Queen. Her smile quickly faded into a look of terror. Xeri caught notice of this and looked himself. A Gerudo guard snicking your on her with a...sickle? Yiga!

Xeri unsheathed his sword and maneuvered past the Queen to clash with the sickle. The guard quickly revealed himself. That dammed eye mask. The Yiga laughed before disappearing into thin air. Xeri closed his eyes, anticipating where he would be. He heard a noise above him and swiped his sword there.

He caught the sickle with the sword and managed to knock it out of the Yiga's hand. The Yiga quickly regained it before swiping at Xeri's head. He slipped back, pulling his head back before swinging the sword diagonal, the sword crashed onto the Yiga's back. He crumbled, wobbling to his knees.

He reached for the sickle before Xeri stomped a boot onto the hand of the Yiga before bringing his sword across his neck. The Yiga quickly fell slump and laid lifeless across the carpet. He looked up at the shocked and frozen guards who pointing they're spears at the dead Yiga. "Dispose of the body. Burn it." He said darkly.

He regained himself, before sheathing the sword into its sheath on his back. He turned around before he glared at Urbosa. Apparently they're had been two Yiga assassins, Urbosa made quick work of the assassin slashing all over him until eventually he fell limp and lifeless as well. The muscular female guards dragged the dead Yiga out of the room.

Urbosa quaked lightly before turning towards a Sergeant. "You want to explain to me how two Yiga assassins managed to infiltrate the town!?"

"They've must've snuck in-"

"You do not speak. I remember perfectly saying that you need to up the security around the village. Get it done. Now, or you'll be cleaning the toilets." She scolded. The guard nodded her head before leaving the throne room. Urbosa sighed before sheathing her sword and shield. Looking in the direction of a shaken Queen she walked over and grabbed her hand. "Your Majesty, I deeply apologize for...whatever that was. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me and the Gerudo."

"No harm done, Lady Urbosa. As long as everyone's ok, there's nothing to fret about." The Queen assured. She looked into the direction of Xeri. "Are you okay, Xeri."

"Of course. Nothing I can't handle."

"I'm assuming you've encountered Yiga before?" Urbosa asked grinning.

"Numerous times."

The two women looked at him before they turned towards each other. The Queen nodded her head and they began to get down to whatever business she had here.

Night had fallen and they were already back at the stable. Lady Urbosa was nothing short of the hospitality they had in Gerudo. With the Queen fast asleep in the stable, Xeri had lit a cigar outside next to the fire. The sparkly stars made it relaxing when he puffed out a cloud of smoke. The knights had fallen asleep in sleeping bags with a pillow sleeping and lightly snoring. He heard footsteps behind him but paid no mind to it. The footsteps came to a holt when she sat abruptly. The Queen had a blanket wrapped around her in the cool breeze. "You aren't suppose to be awake." Xeri said puffing out a cloud of smoke.

"Well, I couldn't sleep," The Queen came to her defense. "I could have this baby at any moment. Any moment."

"Figure what they're name is?" Xeri said now looking in her direction. The Queen looked at the sky making it seem like she completely ignored his question until she opened her mouth.

"Zelda. I think I'm going to name her Zelda, Rhoam didn't really like it at first. But now he's going to have to deal with it." She said firmly. Xeri chuckled before smoking the cigar. Blowing a clump of smoke out of his mouth. "Everyday I pray to goddesses that nothing terrible is happening in Hyrule right now. Someone's getting killed, raped, tortured or even worse." She trailed off.

"Yeah really. I feel bad for anyone who encounters a monster with no fighting history or ability." Xeri said. The Queen nodded in agreement with a hum.

"Ever have to save someone from a monster?"

"Mhm. It's not fun. Especially when it's a goddamn Lynel."

"You've encountered those beasts!?" The Queen said in shock. Her green eyes widened.

"Yeah. Fighting Lynels was apart of surviving. I was almost gutted by a Gold one. That's where I encountered my first Lynel. Took every fiber of my being to beat that thing. I was minding my business and it just popped up on me. Out of no where swinging for my head. Beating him was hell, but the Lynel sword I was rewarded with helped a lot. Until it broke."

"There's gold Lynels?" She asked. He looked at her, Hylia were they that not aware of the monster's out there?

"There's five different variations of a Lynel. Red, Blue, Silver, White and Gold. Red being the weakest versions and Gold being the strongest. It's said Gold ones can teleport."

"Do they?"

"Well, I've only fought two gold ones. I usually come across White Lynels mostly. They're rare to come across, but considering I was a traveller and homeless so I went places regular people wouldn't go. I came across them more than an average person. But if you do, it's best not to try and fight them regardless of how good of a warrior you are."

"So how come you've slayed so many?" The Queen asked. Another gust of wind flowed through the canyon.

"Like I said, survival. Sometimes I couldn't avoid them, so I had to stand toe-toe-toe with them. It was either I leave alive or I die. Luckily I bested all of them, nearly died in my last one. Deathly cut to my torso, I think I still got the scar. Almost bled out on my old horse who died a couple months ago of old age at a stable. But yeah, those things are no joke."

"What about other gold monsters?"

"Same thing goes for Lizalfos, Moblins and Bokoblins. Although I haven't seen a gold Hinox before. I don't think there are even gold Hinoxs. He said blowing smoke out. Looking at the small cigar he plucked before putting his arms on his knees.

"Well, I feel tired now. Thank you for the talk, Sir Xeri." She got up and nodded at him before spinning around and walking toward the stable. Now he was alone with the sleeping guards. Lying on his back, he watched the stars dance in the night. Feeling his eyelids heavy, he took a deep sigh before letting himself sleep.

...

The snow hit him like a horse. The small ice pellets stung his face and pointed ears. Navigating through the tough storm, he yelled in power pushing his damndest to get to the village of Rito.

The cold bit on his pointed ears, making them numb. He'd touch them and he wouldn't even feel it. He's lucky he doesn't freeze to death. Then he heard something. A cry, a women cry. He looked around, but he couldn't see anything. The wind and gust had blocked his vision. Unsheathing a sword with his gloved hand, he let it hang in his hand just in case. He heard the scream again, and again. And again.

He pressed towards it, following the cry's of help and pleas. He finally made it to a cave, where it somewhat blocked out the cold. The screams were louder, much clearer. He inched his way closer towards the entrance before walking in it. Snorting could be heard in the distance. The cries and whimpers became closer.

He ended up in a cold room where a table was, a Bokoblin eases himself inside of the female Rito. Her black feathers coated with dirt and dust. The Bokoblin turned around and oinked. He turned to grab a weapon but not before Xeri brought the sword down through its neck. Two more bokoblins popped up around the corner before they jumped in surprise. A fist collided with it's snout knocking it back before Xeri dodged a fist, it seemed as if it were in slow motion when he released a flurry of attacks ripping the Bokoblin apart. The other Bokoblin brought it's large fist down, he missed slightly hitting Xeri's shoulder. He smashed a fist in it's eye. Grabbing its eye, he let the sword enter it's head. It dropped dead.

He huffed before hurrying to the Rito. Her eyes were closed, tears steamed down her face. He grabbed her arm, in an attempt to wake her or let her know it's okay.

Her eyes did open. Eyes of a Bokoblin.

He opened his eyes and in an instant he was puking his guts up. He quivered before another gasp and his open mouth spilled more insides. He wiped his mouth before leaning against the wall.

Was violence and pain all he was ever going to feel?

...

It took a day and a half for them to return to the Castle and as expected Rhoam waited for them in the Sanctum. He was getting accustomed to being royal. Getting greeted and being known by the term "Sir Xeri." The Queen somewhere off doing Queen stuff, he sat at the bridge looking out in the courtyard with the usual cigar in between his fingers. He heard heavy footsteps before arms placed themselves on the railing. Rhoam raised a hand and grabbed his farthest shoulder pulling him close in a half hug. "I know you would protect her. Just like you would've saved that girl."

"Thanks."

"I know your good man Xeri. No doubt about that, I'm officially appointing you as my wife's appointed knight. Knowing the public knows of your criminal history, I won't be holding a ceremony if you understand. But the Queen, she's not feeling well as of lately. Must be the baby, so you have time to get the feeling down before she goes off on another one of her travels."

His heart sped up. Does he have a career? Can he finally return to Lurelin and make his grandmother proud? "Thank you Rhoam. You know I won't let you down."

"I've ordered a room to be prepared for you. So you have somewhere to stay. It's the least I can do, for protecting my family." He said the last part very sternly. His size for a king wasn't something you see everyday. The man was taller than Xeri himself.

"I don't know how to repay-"

"Don't finish that sentence. I'm not doing this in for something in return. Yeah, you were a criminal. A convict who didn't have much, so I offered you a job. The other knights I hired were three of the most trained knights in the kingdom in case you did try anything but I know you didn't need them. When I first heard of you, I thought you were nothing more of another no good criminal. But then I heard what you did, what you did for the girls family. Fruits and flowers? That's a magnificent way of a tradition for losing loved ones. I would've never thought of that."

"It's something that's always been around. Even longer than Grandma, it's just something I was born into." He said puffing another cloud of smoke out of his mouth. The day was beautiful, Death Mountain could be seen clearly in the distant. It's lava running down the volcano made the sight a lot more calmer.

"Zelda.." Rhoam loudly muttered. "I think she's right. That's her name. That's what she's going to be named." It was enough to make a man smile. Xeri smiled before inhaling more of the cigars smoke. He heard the doors to the bridge of the courtyard open but he was too zoned out to look. "Ah, you've arrived." He asked the half of cigar before putting it back in his pocket. Smoothing his tunic of wrinkles and unwanted creases, he turned to where Rhoam was greeting a solider. "General Jonah, I'm glad you could make. My apologies for pulling you to the castle, but I think it was an urgent matter."

Xeri walked towards them now standing on the side of Rhoam. A man, most likely in his early thirties stood across from the king. He had brown shaggy hair, a stubble mustache. His pale white skin stood out in the sun with his blue eyes. Next to him a little boy who toyed around with his fingers and nails stood next to him. This boy looked a lot like the man next to him. Father and son he assumed?

"General, I wanted you to meet the Queen's newly appointed knight. Xeri of Lurelin." Xeri held his hand out, General Jonah grabbed it with a firm handshake and shook it with a nod between the two they let go and let they're hands drop.

"A pleasure to meet you sir. Apologies for me bringing my son. But, I think it's time he learns, early training to make sure he's the best knight to ever grace the land. My son, Link. He recently turned three."

He looked back at the boy before crouching down, Xeri smiled before putting his hand out. The little boy looked at him with a goofy smile before grabbing Xeri's hand.

Link. With this man as his father, he was sure. He was gonna see this kid again. Xeri looked up at Rhoam before standing to his full height. "Well, is there any reason you got us here?"

"No, just wanted you to meet the General of the army. If your the Queen's appointed knight, that means you must know everyone in the castle." The king explained. "General. You may depart."

The General nodded before snapping his fingers towards the little boy. In an instant the boy got up and sprang to his father's feet. A knight opened the door for the General and they departed. He returned to the bridge putting his back towards Death Mountain, leaning on it. Rhoam walked next to him only him facing the mountain.

The bridge doors flew open and out came a nurse who was out of breath. She put her hands on her knees before taking huffs of breath. Rhoam quickly walked over towards her. "What's the matter with you?"

"Your wife your highness..." She managed to breath out. Rhoam looked back at Xeri with a worried look before looking back. "She's in labor. The baby is coming."
