Mick yelled as he walked onto the bridge, "Who installed the alarms?"

"That'd be me," Nate answered.

"We should kill him."

"We got another one," Jax asked as he and Stein walked onto the bridge.

"Yeah, and judging by these readings, it's a major one," Nate said looking over some data on one of the screens.

Stein stammered, "Is there really cause for all this alarm? Perhaps the aberration isn't as large as we think," he said worriedly. What's up there I wondered as I scented Stein's nerves.

The temporal tremors originate from Union Station in Chicago, Illinois, October 17th in the year 1927.

"That's fantastic." Stein said relieved, we all looked at him before Jax whacked him. "I-I mean, I've always wanted to visit the roaring '20s right in the middle of Prohibition."

I laughed as Mick grunted, "That means no drinking. That's not good."

"Well, actually under Capone, Chicago was a hotbed of vice. There was illegal drinking, gambling, prostitution." Nate said pointing to Mick as he finished.

"Well, then, let's fire up the tub and get there."

"Grab your fedoras, we're going to the 1920s."

"Well, keep those eyes focused on whatever's causing those temporal tremors," Sara called over comms in response to Amaya's reminiscing.

Ray called back, "Copy that."

Nate lurched forwards to look closer at some guy passing us, "That's Eliot Ness," he said as he leaned back against the wall.

Ray scoffed as he looked over at the guy, "He doesn't look like Kevin Costner."

I chuckled, "it's cute that he thinks the real person would look exactly like the actor who played him," I said as I nudged Nate.

"What if somebody tipped off Capone that Ness is a future threat," Nate asked.

"Then his life's in danger. Don't worry, I'm on it." Nate looked dismayed as Ray rushed after Ness before we could stop him.

Nate and I rushed down the steps of the station to where Ray was standing. "What just happened," Nate asked Ray as we came down the stairs to stand by him.

"Well, it's the strangest thing. Uh, two cops just escorted Eliot Ness to the bureau."

"They're not escorting him to the bureau. They're gonna throw him in the river."

"What?"

"Ray, 1920s Chicago PD was the most corrupt police force in history."

"Second most corrupt beat out by 21st century Gotham City PD," I interrupted.

"Almost all of them are on Capone's payroll." Nate groaned as he explained, "Did you or did you not see 'The Untouchables'?"

"What the hell happened back there? How come you didn't stop him," Sara asked Stein.

"I'm sorry, I got distracted."

"By what?"

"Tell her, Grey," Jax insisted.

"It's not the professor's fault. Ray let Ness walk right into Capone's hands." Nate said, blaming Ray for the loss.

"They were police officers, and who's to say they didn't take him to the FBI like they said they would?"

"Gideon, pull up the Chicago Chronicle, October 24th, 1931."

Ah, yes, the day Al Capone originally went down for tax evasion, only in this version of history, he becomes something far worse than a criminal, he becomes a politician. Al Capone becomes mayor?

"Okay, I take it back. Ness probably is screwed," Ray said after seeing the news headline.

"Well, let's find out where they took him, so we can unscrew him before this happens."

"All this for some booze? I like it." Mick chuckled as we stood looking towards Capone and his men where they had just pushed Ness into the harbor.

"Nice getups. Seems our new friends have got some friends of their own. Get 'em, boys." Capone's goons started shooting at us as Capone walked away. We moved to fight them as Amaya dove into the harbor to save Ness.

"I'm going after Capone," Ray said seeing Capone getting away.

"Let 'em go, we got Ness."

"Is he dead?"

"Unconscious. He took on a lot of water."

"That's a stupid idea."

"It's pre-Internet. Nobody knows what Ness looks like." Nate said, explaining his plan to get Capone's ledger in Ness's place.

"Nate's right, I got this," Ray spoke excitedly volunteering to play Ness.

"Actually, I was thinking I got this."

"Well, yeah, I mean, if the mission was impersonating Brad Pitt, you'd be the man, but I think we can all agree if anyone here looks like a G-man here, it's me."

"Well, we're in this situation, because you learned history from a movie."

"All right, enough." Sara spoke, interrupting Nate and Ray's argument, "Ray, I'm sorry, but Nate knows more about this area than any of us. What's the plan?"

"Okay. So if Capone's ledger is anywhere, it's probably at his primary speakeasy, the Chelsea Club, so Ray and I will go to the Bureau, assemble Ness's team, lead him to bust the place up, grab the ledger."

"Great, take Rory with you."

Mick started coughing before he spoke, "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Does this face look like a cop to you?"

Amaya spoke up, "If this were a JSA mission, we'd probably also send someone undercover at the club."

"Well, I'm not doing that either. I'm done playing dress-up."

Sara sighed, "Fine. I'll go to the club with Jax and Stein, and you can stay here, drink your beers, and watch over Ness."

"What about me," Amaya asked, walking up to Sara.

"You and Chloe can watch over him," Sara said as she patted Amaya on the arm.

"What?"

"Sorry."

"Beer."

I lifted my head off Mick's shoulder as Amaya walked into the med bay and propped herself in the doorway. "You feeling alright," she asked Mick.

"Fine," Mick grunted. I'll admit I was curious about how she would interact with Mick now that she had been with us for a couple months and wasn't trying to kill him/.

"I guess I'm just surprised you'd rather stay here on the ship than be out there. 1920 Chicago seemed like your kinda town," she said as she moved closer and leaned against a shelf. Mick stayed silent as she kept talking, "You know, when I was younger, I always wanted to be a police officer. I didn't care that I was a girl. I just really wanted to wear a badge."

"Cute. The bad guys have all the fun, you know."

Amaya just smiled at Mick's response, "It doesn't look like you're having much fun right now."

I chuckled as she walked out, "she is right you picked the most boring job for this mission," I said as I finished off my beer. I got up to walk out, "I'm gonna go check in with the team while you figure out what you wanna do."

"This whole Capone aberration was a distraction. Darhk and his speedster pal knew it'd attract our attention."

Jax set a case down on the center console before he turned to ask, "But why kidnap Sara and Stein? I mean, what could he want with them?"

"Still trying to work that one out," Ray said.

I moved to perch on one of the consoles and released calming pheromones seeing how tense Jax was. "Whatever he wants he'll keep them alive until he can get what it is from them," I said hoping to reassure him.

"You all right, Jax," Amaya asked as she moved to stand at the console by Jax.

"I'm pissed."

Mick barely looked up to grunt, "Let it go, kid. There's nothing you can do about the speedsters."

"We'll see about that. Long story short, Rip had a secret armory. Me and Grey found it alongside future Barry's message about the oncoming war."

"This speedster killed Rex and kidnapped our friends. We need him in the brig before dawn," Amaya spoke furiously.

"Yeah, if this weapon does what I think it does, we'll stop him dead in his tracks," Jax said as he picked up the gun in the case inspecting it.

"Yeah, well, at's all well and good, but we still need to get Capone's ledger back, otherwise history's screwed."

"Since your last plan was a total bust, I suggest somebody else do the strategic thinking."

"Let me guess, that's you? All right, so let's hear your brilliant idea."

"Well, I don't have one, but it's gonna be better than yours."

"Enough. If you wanna nail Capone and Rex's killer, you can't do it by playing a boy scout or an historian or a policeman. We do this my way, like a criminal."

Jax and I rushed to meet Martin where Sara and Amaya were guiding him onto the bridge, "Hey, Grey, Grey, you're safe now, it's okay. Grey."

"What?"

"Grey," Jax said perplexed.

"Oh, uh, I'm sorry, I-I-I didn't hear you. I'm... I'm... I'm little... A little discombobulated," Martin said as he sat on the steps. I moved closer to him sniffing lightly, I could smell something off in his scent, but I wasn't sure what it was.

"Whoo! Well, that was close, but a win's a win, and we got the team back together." Nate exclaimed as he and Ray walked onto the bridge seeing the look on Amaya's face he corrected himself, "Well, technically you and Rory got the team back together."

"And we got the ledger. Bro hug," Ray added excitedly.

"Do it."

I looked away from Martin as Sara interrupted Ray and Nate's celebration, "Okay, I think this is all a little premature."

"We still don't have an ID on the speedster," Amaya said tensely.

"Who's now added Malcolm Merlyn to his team of time travelling psychos. And he wanted the amulet that I took off of Darhk in 1987."

"What would someone with the speedster's power want with ancient artifacts," Nate asked.

Martin stood as he spoke up, "Perhaps... Perhaps I should take a look at the amulet. I may be able to unlock some of its mysteries."

"All right."

I leaned back sipping from a bottle of whiskey pondering what caused the shift in Martin's scent while Ray and Nate worked on the Atom suit. "Righty-tighty, lefty-loosey," Ray told Nate.

"I speak six languages, why wouldn't I…"

"Stein's about to kill Sara in the library," Jax interrupted Nate as he rushed into the cargo bay.

"With the rope or the candlestick," Nate joked.

I sat up as Jax continued seriously, "Guys, I'm serious. Somehow, the speedster's disguised himself as Stein, and he's turning over the whole ship."

"I'll suit up."

We all started moving, "I'll grab Mick and Amaya."

"I know how to get Sara away from fake Stein. What about that speedster gun?"

"Yeah, I'm already on it."

I ran through the halls headed for Mick's room getting to the door just as he was stepping out. "Mick we have to find Amaya," I grabbed his arm dragging him behind me. I simply stated, "the speedster is loose on the ship." We paused as Gideon voiced, Cloaking shield disengaged. Cargo bay door now opening. "There goes another problem."

We moved to a defensible position as we heard someone running towards. Mick sprung out and grabbed Amaya pulling her into our corner. "What are you doing? Capone's men are taking over the ship," she protested.

Mick shushed her as the blur of the speedster flashed past us. "We got bigger fish to fry, honey."

"Rex's killer," Amaya said as she yanked herself out of Mick's hold and lunged for the speedster gun on the ground.

Mick stopped her from running off half cocked, "He's tossing the ship. He's looking for the amulet. It's only gonna be a matter of time before he finds it."

"Then how do we stop him? What would a criminal do?"

"Run."

Mick explained his plan as we moved back towards his room, we quickly ducked back behind a corner as two thugs started firing at us. "Go back the other way I'll deal with these idiots," I told Mick and Amaya, they nodded and left to get around the minor obstacle.

I poked my head just far enough around the corner to make sure the thugs got a good view of me, ducking back as they started firing again. I waited around for them to either stop or run out of ammo. They started moving forward when they stopped firing. I waited until they were right around the corner before I moved. Launching myself at the guy closest to me, I wrapped my arm around his neck using my momentum I swung my legs into the other guy's chest forcing him to the ground. Quashing the urge to snap their necks I smashed the head of the guy I was holding into the wall then I turned to kick the second guy in the head before he could get up. I sighed, levitating the two guys I modified their memories before tossing them out of the cargo bay doors.

Things calmed down pretty quickly after Sara traded the amulet for Martin's life.
