Luna was already asleep when Severus got home. She'd apparently been waiting for him on the sofa. Her head was propped up on one of the arms, her arm hanging over the side, she was wrapped in the grey blanket that always dressed the back of the sofa. He smiled as she muttered something in her sleep. He had long since given up trying to understand her sleep talking. She snuggled against the sofa a little as he walked over. He debated waking her, but decided in the end to try. She had been waiting for him after all.

"Luna," he whispered. "It's time for bed," he added, wondering if she would wake. Sometimes she slept soundly, other times she didn't. Luna's eyes flew open. She looked around quickly before she rested her sights on Severus.

"Oh, you're home. I tried waiting up for you, but they got a hold of my thoughts and made me fall asleep."

Severus didn't ask who 'they' were. He knew they were some sort of creature that may or may not exist, he could not keep track of every creature Luna had told him about, although he did try.

"You're welcome to continue sleeping on our sofa, but I think the bed might be a bit more comfortable, also I can not sleep on the sofa with you," he said, offering her a hand. She took it, shrugging off the blanket and allowing Severus to help her to her feet. She yawned sleepily.

"Did you get much done?" she asked as they walked.

"Not really. Miss Granger was there and she'd gotten it into her head that the to goblins need rights and while I don't disagree with her, they do not need the 'right' to steal back everything they've ever made."

"They do have their own concept of ownership, the goblins," Luna commented. Severus knew she understood the goblin concept of ownership, and if he wished, she would explain it to him so he'd understand as well. Right now though, he wanted to put the day out of his mind and get some sleep.

"That they do," he agreed, sitting on the edge of their bed and sliding his shoes off. He pulled his socks off, marveling at how amazing that always felt. Luna had crawled into bed beside him, her feet were already bare. She'd already been wearing her pyjamas when he'd arrived home. He had a feeling she'd left her shoes and stockings under the sofa again.

"You'll get it sorted, I have a feeling you and Hermione are really on the same side of the issue, and if you're not, you're both brilliant in your own rights. You'll figure it out," she stated, pulling the blanket over her and burrowing into the bed. Severus watched her close her eyes. He laid down next to her, having shed his outer layer of clothing so he was wearing nothing more than a pair of pants and an undershirt.

"Good night, my Luna. I love you," he whispered in her ear. She smiled, nuzzling against him, feeling the warmth of his body. He wrapped an arm around her, holding her close to him. He always slept better when Luna was with him. Something about her kept the nightmares at bay, at least temporarily.

"I love you too, Severus," she murmured, her voice full of happiness as she fell back asleep, muttering softly in her sleep about the goblins and something about some war between them and the wizards. Severus smiled Luna had been one of the few students he'd known to pay complete attention in History of Magic, of course, she'd had some very different accounts of how some events had palyed out. Severus closed his eyes hoping sleep would come quickly tonight. His wish was granted as Luna's voice soothed him into a peaceful dreamless sleep.
