CHAPTER ONE

Harry was just thrown out of Snape's office after viewing Snape's Pensive memories.

All he could think was that Snape had been right, all along. For years Snape told him that his father and Sirius were conceited, and arrogant bullies. Now Harry had seen the proof with his own eyes.

He is not sure how he could have ever thought that he wanted to be like them. That he had felt pride whenever he was compared to either of them. All he can feel now is disgust. They were worse than Dudley and his bullying pals. Harry should know, because he was often the target of Dudley's group.

Harry went through most of the next day in silence as his mind continued to flash from himself as the target of Dudley's gang to Snape as James and Sirius' target.

A few times Hermione tried to get him to talk, finally he had turned to her and shouted.

"WHY CAN'T YOU JUST SHUT UP!? IF A PERSON DOESN'T WANT TO TALK, THEN THEY DON'T HAVE TO! YOU DO NOT NEED TO KNOW EVERY DETAIL OF EVERY SECOND OF MY LIFE! DO I CONTINOUSLY ASK FOR DETAILS OF YOUR LIFE? NO, I DON'T! SO BACK THE HELL OFF!"

Then he walked away. She hadn't bothered him since. Ron wasn't talking to him either. That was fine with Harry, because he needed time to think. He grabbed some books and his homework assignments.

He made his way to the Room of Requirement. He paused for a moment, then he asked the Room for a space that no one else could find, and for the room to provide any and all information on Occlumency.

Harry woke up and he looked around and tried to figure out where he was. Then he remembered the day before and why he was in the ROR. He had read for hours, before he fell asleep.

Why hadn't Snape recommended some of these books. They made all of the things that Snape rambled about make sense. The one hour that he had spent meditating after reading a few chapters about it, had done more than any one session with Snape.

Harry goes to the dorm and throws open his trunk. He starts to trash everything that reminds him of the Marauders. He even started to tear photos out of his Album and lights them on fire.

Then he comes across the still wrapped package that Sirius gave him, just before he boarded the Wizarding Knight Bus to return to Hogwarts after Yule Break.

He opens it.

A dirty old mirror? Why would Sirius give him a mirror? He turns it over in his hand. There on the other side was a handwritten note.

This is a two-way mirror - I have the matching receiver. If you need to talk to me, just say my name; I will appear in yours and we will be able to talk. James and I used to use them.

He was about to try it, then he realized that someone could come in at any moment. He had to make sure they wouldn't be interrupted first. Harry put the Mirror in his pocket, he picked everything else up and crammed it all back in his trunk. He then put on his Invisibility Cloak and raced back to the Room of Requirement.

Once he was sure he was secure, he took out the mirror and called into it.

"Sirius Black!" he waited a moment then called again, "Sirius Black!"

"Harry? Are you all right? Do you need help?"

"No, I'm fine. I just want to talk about James."

Harry explained what he saw in the Pensive.

"Don't judge your father based on that. He was just fifteen years old."

"I'm fifteen!"

"Harry you need to understand that James and Snape hated each other. Snape was jealous of your dad, because Snape was little oddball, that everyone hated and James was loved by everyone."

"Not everyone hated Snape. My mom did not hate him. No she defended him. My mom loathed James. She called him arrogant, bullying toe-rag and I agree with her one hundred percent. He attacked Snape that day, just because you were bored. He had done nothing. He was just sitting on the grass, and you two decided you wanted some entertainment."

"Sometimes we got a bit carried away…"

"I have been in Snape's shoes. I have been the target of bullies, who were bored and just wanted to have fun. I have actual scars, from their fun. But, you wouldn't know what that was like, because you were an arrogant bullying toe-rag too. Lupin is just as much to blame, because he was a Prefect and he just sat on his ass and watched. He did nothing to stop you. He was a coward."

"Harry, we … we were just teenagers, doing what all teenagers do."

"Really!? What about at my parent's wedding? My aunt told me all about it. You were an Auror and the way you treated, Petunia and Vernon. An Auror, having a spot of fun with Muggle baiting! Did it make you feel like a big man, to cause everyone to laugh at my mother's sister? But that doesn't count, right. Because they were just worthless Muggles, right? Like mother, like son!"

"I am nothing like my mother! Harry, you have to let me explain."

"You are the reason they hate magic and you are reason they hated me. You and James are the reason Snape hated me before he even met me, and I hate you both for it."

"It wasn't like that …"

"Have you ever looked up Marauder in a dictionary. It means… to rove around carrying out violent attacks or to raid a place in search of plunder. - That means that the four of you willingly called yourselves, attackers and thieves."

Harry raises his wand.

"I, Harry James Potter, do hereby solemnly swear on my Magic, that I want nothing to do with any Marauder ever again. I will not speak to, listen to, or willingly have anything to do with any Marauder, ever again. So Mote It Be!"

He then throws the mirror to the ground and watches it shatter. He then stomps on the pieces, repeatedly, grinding them to dust. He stops and takes a few breathes, he looks around and realizes that he was in the room he had used the night before.

Harry's eyes fall on the books about meditation. That is exactly what he needs. He sinks down on to the floor, crosses his legs and proceeds to meditate.

Hours later, he lets himself out of the room and goes down to Snape's office. He knocks on the door.

Snape opens the door and once he sees who it is, he snarls, "What do you want, Potter?"

"May I please step inside, Potion Master Snape?" asked Harry.

Because of the form of address that had been used, Snape is now curious, so he steps aside and allows Harry to enter the room. Snape closes the door and Harry turns to face him.

"I found some books about meditation. I wish that I had been able to read them years ago. They made a lot of things make sense. Clear your mind, just didn't work for me. I understand now. Would you like to test me?"

"Very well, Potter," sneered Snape.

Snape proceeds to test Harry's Occlumency Shields, but he gets nowhere.

"How did you manage that In just a few days time?"

"I removed a lot excess baggage. After you justly showed me out of your office, I confronted Black."

Snape eyebrow went up at hearing Harry refer to his godfather, by his last name.

"What did that accomplish?" he asked, with full curiosity.

"I told Black that you were right along. That he was an arrogant bully. He tried to play it off as just being a teenager. But then I pointed out that he had played at a spot of Muggle baiting at my mother's wedding. He used magic on Petunia and her husband, simply because they were Muggles, surrounded by witches and wizards. Then I swore a Magically Binding Oath to never have anything to do with any Marauder, ever again."

Snape was stunned and wasn't sure what to say.

"I am here to humbly apologize for intruding in your privacy. But I will never be sorry that I saw the truth of who they were and are. You should look at his time in Azkaban, as time served for attempted manslaughter. After all, ten to fifteen years is often the sentence that Muggles receive when they are charged with attempted manslaughter. Then you should give meditation a try. It really does wonders for ones emotions."

"Meditation?" said Snape still some what stunned.

"Yes Sir. Well, that is really all I came here for. I will leave you to return to what you were doing. Sorry if I interrupted."

Harry then let himself out and returned to the Gryffindor dorms.
