The moment she ends the call with Skye, Maria isn't sure what to think or do next. Looking at her computer screen, she tries to put everything together.

One, Skye needed to get away from her mission, used the system they have all agreed on to use and she had completely missed it. Resulting in her sending Phil's new team to arrest Skye.

Two, Skye now knows she has been laying to her for months. Now finding out that Phil is alive, and she is stuck with him on a plane.

Three, Phil doesn't realise the hacker they have picked up is the same girl he used to call his daughter, whenever Skye wasn't around to hear it because he worried it would scare her.

Four, Melinda is going to kill her once she figures all of this out and if Melinda won't, then Natasha will, with Clint on the side-line to make sure the job will be done.

With these four points, the conclusion and outcome, Maria knows she's in deep water and with death close behind her. Closing her eyes and taking in a deep breath, she tries to calm herself down. Now isn't the time to lose her head. She did make Skye a promise after all, to tell her everything that happened to Phil, and she is going to keep that promise.

Opening her eyes once more, she reaches out to start working. Only to stop, her fingers hovering over her keyboard. Director Fury had made it clear, no S.H.I.E.L.D agent under level 7 is allowed to know that agent Phil Coulson is alive. And the Avengers definitely isn't allowed this information.

However, Skye isn't a S.H.I.E.L.D agent, she may have had some training to become one but that was all to keep her safe after all. And she needed that training to do the undercover work for her and Victoria after all. So, the orders don't affect her. And then there is the small detail that Skye is already face to face with Phil.

"Are you going to type or just look at your keyboard?"

Hearing the question and whose voice it is, Maria rolls her eyes. Pulling her hands away from the keyboard, she takes a deep breath before turning around in her chair. By doing this, she ends up face to face with a masked Gwen Stacy, hanging from the sealing.

"Ghost, what can I do for you?"

She asks, knowing it would be a bad idea to say her real name when the mask is on. Just as Gwen knows it's a bad idea for her to enter a S.H.I.E.L.D base. Most agents are on the same side of the police force, thinking she is a public enemy number one. All because the knowledge that S.H.I.E.L.D is protecting her is classified for her family and the Avengers.

It doesn't matter that Gwen is wearing the mask, with the years that Maria has known the young girl, she knows when she is worried or scared.

"What's wrong?"

She asks, growing worried once more. Seeing how Gwen turns her head to the side, only makes Maria more worried.

"I think something has happened to Skye. I went to visit her, but her van is missing, and I can't get hold of her. I've tried everything and…"

Hearing what is making the Spider hero worried, Maria calms down and let's out a sigh of relief. This would be easy to explain at least.

"Get out of her, change into your normal clothes and meet me at the usual dinner. I'll explain everything I know."

Maria tells her, and she can once again see past the mask and see the surprise on her face. Seeing that Gwen nods her head and heads into the vent she came from, Maria shakes her head and smiles. She needs to have a long conversation with Clint one of these days about teaching people the vent systems.

Turning her attention back to her computer, she decides she can collect everything Skye will need to know later. For now, she needs to make sure Gwen is alright after all. Pushing her chair back, Maria makes sure she everything she needs before heading out of her office and out of the base.

The trip to the dinner takes her ten minutes and as she steps through the doors, her eyes lands on Gwen, sitting at the table in the back. A table the owner of the dinner made sure is always booked for them. Nodding her head in a greeting to the staff working that day, Maria heads for Gwen. Placing a hand on the young woman's shoulder, giving it a squish before taking one of the seats.

"Took you long enough."

"First of, I can't just swing over all the traffic to get to my location. Second of, if this is how you are going to treat this I will leave, and you won't learn what I know."

Seeing how Gwen rolls her eyes, Maria smiles, her attention turning towards one of the waiters walking over to the table.

"I'll take the usual."

Maria tells the young woman before she has a chance to ask what they want. The young woman nods her head before looking at Gwen.

"Same here."

Gwen answers and the young woman nods her head once more before heading off. Once sure the young woman is out of sight, Maria leans forwards.

"So, you are worried about Skye?"

"Of course, I'm worried about Skye! We both know the mission you and Victoria sent her on can become very dangerous for her and we have seen that a couple of times already."

Gwen tells her, leaning forwards, her tone taking on a serious note. It was common knowledge that Gwen wasn't happy about the undercover mission Skye took on. Just as Skye wasn't happy when Stark made the comment, they would have needed Gwen during the battle of New York. The length the two girls will go for one another to keep the other one safe still amaze Maria to this day.

"Skye is completely fine. Before you showed up, I was talking to her."

Maria explains, at this information, Gwen looks at her with large eyes.

"What? You couldn't have started with that?"

"Gwen, things are a bit more complected. Just hear me out."

Maria tells her, seeing how Gwen hesitates for a few seconds before she nods her head. With a deep breath, Maria collects herself.

"Skye tried to contact me using the system we set up. I missed it and sent another S.H.I.E.L.D team to arrest what we thought was another member of the Rising Tied. But Skye managed to call me, saying she was the member that the mobile unit picked up."

Maria starts to explain, seeing that Gwen wants to say something, she holds up her hand to stop her.

"The S.H.I.E.L.D unit is being led by none other than agent Phil Coulson, the man we told you and Skye was killed by Loki before the battle of New York."

She adds, seeing how Gwen's eyes grows larger than she has ever seen. Leaning back, she keeps her eyes on Gwen, seeing how the younger woman is going through everything Maria has just told her and everything she knows about Phil and Skye.

"He's alive?"

She finally asks, Maria isn't sure however it's a question she was mean to speak out loud. Maria nods her head however as a respond.

"Yes, but it seems like he doesn't know that Skye is the same girl he used to take care of."

She adds, seeing sadness taking over Gwen's eyes this time around.

"Oh, that must be killing Skye."

Maria nods her head at this statement, even if Skye tried to hide the sadness in her voice when she told Maria about that part, she can tell her little sister was in pain.

"It is, I have promised her I will send everything that has happened to Phil. That's what I was doing when you decided to hang from the roof."

Maria continues to explain, only to grow silent when the waitress returns with their food. Once the young woman is gone once more, Maria looks down at her food.

"Well, when you do talk to her again. Tell her she better call me."

Gwen tells her and Maria smiles, slightly surprised that the young woman in front of her isn't trying to figure out where Skye is in this moment and head there herself.

-X-X-X-X-

"They did what?"

Victoria is the one telling her the news that the plane Phil was given six days ago has been destroyed, a giant hole in the side, created when they were still in the air. If it's not for the fact that Maria is completely sure that Clint isn't on the plane, she is quite sure this would be his doing.

"They are on their way down to one of the garages to check the damage."

Victoria tells her and Maria rolls her eyes, she should have known it was just a matter of time before something big was going to happen. With a deep breath, Maria realises it will be for the best to head over to the garage to make sure Skye is alright with her own eyes. And it's probably for the best to give Skye the information she needs in paper form, that way no one can see that she sends out secret information.

"Thank you, Victoria, I'll talk to you later."

Maria ends the call only to make sure to send a message to Skye, making sure she is still with the team. The moment she gets the reply that she is still in, Maria takes the file she has put together and heads out. Reaching the location, she makes sure to find a spot where no one can see her before sending another text to Skye. Five minutes later, Skye is coming running towards her, throwing herself towards Maria in a tight hug.

"Ria!"

Skye whispers, her voice trembling with emotion. Pulling Skye closer, Maria takes in a deep breath, not realising how worried she has been. Staying in the hug for longer than should be necessary, Maria starts to release Skye to take her in properly.

"How are you holding up, are you hurt or anything?"

"I guess I'm as good as I can be in a situation like this. Finding out that Phil is alive, having him and Melinda not remembering who I am. Being stuck on a plane with T-1000 and other men, having to use a plan that was full on Clint…"

Skye tells her, trailing of as she talks about the fact that they blow a hole in the plane.

"Wait, Melinda doesn't realise who you are either?"

Maria blinks a few times, out of the two, she was hopping that Melinda would realise the older girl standing in front of her is in fact the small girl she took with her home from the hospital. Seeing that Skye shakes her head, Maria starts to wounder what is going on with her old friends.

"She did look at me weirdly when I told them about my plan."

Skye tells her and Maria feels slightly better at that, it doesn't help the fact that she still wants to take Skye away from this place. Looking at her sister, she realises that Skye needs this, and it will give her a better insight on what is going on with both Phil and Melinda. She will be able to get information neither of them will tell her.

"I promised I would send you everything that happened to Phil, but I thought it's probably for the best that you get it like this. Less chance for anyone to trace the files being sent."

Maria explains, holding out the file she took with her to Skye. Seeing how Skye looks at the files, she can see conflict in her eyes.

"You don't have to read it right now if you want. But if you are staying on the BUS, I at least want you to know the truth, all of it."

Maria tells her, happy she has gotten to this part when she realises there is more movements on the people working there now.

"I need to head out of here, before anyone realises, I'm here."

Maria starts to tell Skye, pulling her sister back into a quick hug.

"Oh, and Gwen wants you to call her back. I can't have her drop into my base to make sure you are alright."

She adds in a whisper, which makes Skye laugh a bit. Hearing the laugher, Maria realises she has missed it. But for now, she knows where her sister is and at least things are somewhat alright.
