...

To his credit, Bucky was fairly lucky to find a spot to park and wait for her, the sides of the road were completely packed with the residents' cars. Just a small slot across the road to the left of the main building door was free to Bucky's bike.

He wondered whether coming up to the house to change would be a good option, but he thought about it and was fairly discouraged by the mocking looks of his housemates unequivocally waiting, Steve would have a blast!

And just as a confirmation to what he was thinking, he received a text from Steve saying, well, more like signing, or Emoji-ing! A smirking yellow face and a blushing kisser with a heart.

"The fuck is that supposed to mean, punk!?" He hissed. He was about the reply when she appeared in the fouayé.

Alright, Bucky wasn't sure if she would get his request, without saying much or spoiling the surprise, so 'warm and practical' was all he could think about.

And to his astonishment, she understood the assignment completely...or was it just luck!? either way, he couldn't take his eyes off of her.

She was looking for him over the street, checking left and right, putting her red gloves on, with her high ponytail shifting with her every move, dressed in a perfect combo of warm and practical. No purse.

Black fitting pants hugged her beautifully, a dark red woolly turtleneck under a soft padded jacket, both jacket and pants were leather and black. And of course, boots stopping at her ankles with thinker heels rather than fancy looking ones, perfect for a motorbike ride.

"Good girl!" He whispered to himself approvingly, smiling. She looked drop-dead sexy, and you really need to calm the fuck down ma man!

He noted how she eyed the bike in what he could only describe as lovingly, first, surely dismissing it for someone else's, and kept looking for Him like she couldn't help herself sneaking adoring looks back to the beauty, finally looking up at him.

Bucky was leaning over the backside of the majestic looking Harley, arms and ankles crossed, in his grey sweater shirt and brown leather jacket with matching heavy boots over his pants. Hair loose and devilishly smiling like the best and sweetest looking gorgeous version of her wildest dreams. Amusedly waiting for her if she'd recognise him or not.

The myriad of what she was thinking was clear to Bucky, after the initial astonishing shock, she looked delighted, and that warm smile broke out her sweet features, was she blushing? or is that because of the cold?

Moon wasn't expecting what met her eyes when she went down. She hasn't seen him all day and she gets anxious whenever she misses checking on him especially just when shit started to go back to normal between them. Her gorgeous dark prince proved her wrong though, his hair loose to the breezy twilight, eyes looking melancholic at first while regarding her, suddenly turning smug with a smile when he noticed the exact moment she finally acknowledged him; lost puppy -gone for a second replaced by a beguiling man, leaning on a very beautiful beast

'stop broadcasting your incriminating thoughts to the damn world!' She took her time to compose herself

The brunette wanted to engrave the full display of Bucky's surprise within her mind, so many thoughts she had and so many questions. But she just smiled whilst readily dropping her hand to her waist and just stood...posture straighter, grinning! What Bucky would swear was a very mischievous grin...Looking like a sexy menace all in black leather.

Suddenly, the menace finally walked towards him. He understood right then and there, this was the best thing he could share with her.

"Hey Doll, wanna ride?" Bucky asked playfully still leaning over the black chromatic 'Harley Davidson Road King Classic', playing with the helmet he held in his hand.

"Hello, James!" The words died in her mouth still trying to compose herself "what is ...? Is this for real?" She babbled

"Surprise!" He chortled, dazzling her with his playful smirk, visibly proud with his happy smug, focusing on not melting over her use of his damn name

'It's your fucking name dude, what would you like her to call you? Dimwit?'' Someone's in a good mood! '
'Yeah, let's hope he doesn't fuck up! the night is still young though!'

"Where did you get that?... How did you... know?!" She asked, finely looking at him in the eyes, he could read so many things suddenly...Bucky cleared his throat and started

"It was locked for a long time now, and I thought it was time … " He trailed off, lazily dusting invisible dirt over the hamlet he was holding, breaking eye contact or else she will read everything just from his eyes...

"Damn!" She started again, " she … she's beautiful!"

"How did you know it was a she?"He asked laughing

"Oh trust me...!" She laughed too.

Now that Moon was closer, Bucky could see the details of the garments, the jacket was exquisitely simple and ageless, classical cut, only with soft dark warm looking inner padding making it perfect for this kind of weather.

The pants though, weren't all leather to Bucky's surprise, but the inner sides of the thighs were soft looking and velvety, the material design continued over the outer sides of the calves with intricate needlework, where the leather filled the rest of the pants. Giving him the unmistakable want to drag his hands over the soft warm material over beautiful legs just to feel the rich fabric…suddenly making his mouth dry.

clearing his throat with what he hoped a silent grunt, he looked back up.

"Now I understand 'the practical'!" She cut in, bringing him back from his thoughts " happy my comfortable clothes fits your ideal riding outfit. Could you imagine the trouble we'd be in if I'd decided to wear a skirt?" She joked smugly, he chuckled approvingly, their eyes locked.

" But you never wear them!" He pinpointed and she rolled her eyes dismissively "I do, not that often, true, and that's not the point!" she babbled to herself under her breath. He chuckled.

" Here-" He stood up helping Moon with a sleek looking black helmet, complementing perfectly her outfit " Put this on, and let's go have some fun little scorpion!" He winked, finishing buckling it up for her, visibly pleased smiling more broadly with every passing second.

Taking his helmet from the bike's seat and putting it on, his leg already going over the saddle whilst he fastened the buckles under his jaw.

Without waiting for his invitation, she saddled the beast, overly eager for the damn thing, with cute little excited sounds; which Bucky knew she wasn't aware of making, compelled Bucky to laugh disbelievingly.

A couple of last adjustments, then Bucky started the engine, he heard her whimper audibly when he played with the gas pedal, giggling excitedly like a kid at a candy store. The vibration of the engine roared between her legs, starting new feelings cooking over light heat. Submerging Bucky's insecurities with every little squeak, Feeling braver and braver, Bucky took her hands and locked them around his waist. finally having her close again.

"Hold me tight, little scorpion!" He coaxed looking back at her, voice dropping an octave " And try to sync your body to mine," He instructed, hands still holding hers over his stomach " When I lean right or left, you do the same ok!"

"Roger that, Sarge!" She replied excitedly with a light squeeze. Thank God for the hamlet and the damn darkness of the glorious night. 'Synchronized bodies' was a tremendously large spectrum! She thought and my dirty mind didn't leave any other choice than the obvious one. You are not helping my case, baby boy!

Bucky cleared his throat, 'ok! another name to add to the list...great!'

'He had a thing for military play now! '

'Epic! kill him already!'

With a last look to her over the side mirror for the final ascent, she was still smiling, close and happy, looking at him like he hung the damn Moon, Bucky smiled back with a final wink, flipped down the helmet glass and pressed on the gas. Ugh! Lord have mercy!

Just like that, they were off. Moon erupted with an elated whoo-ing, giggling with the increasing speed and tightening her hold over Bucky's middle, which was nurturing his optimistic unfolding of this unpredicted gamble.

He wanted to do something good for her after that dreadful afternoon but never expected to end up back to one of the old facets of his life to make it worth her while.

Her presence behind him, clinging so eagerly to him was everything he could hope for. He was so satisfied to share this passion with someone and so grateful that she was his choice.

Bucky genuinely didn't have a place in mind to go to, but he was prepared for any outcome still. It's the first time going out with her, so he really didn't wanna fuck up! That Tom guy didn't have anything over him. Honestly, he just wanted to ride...for hours…And share the feelings of the ride with someone dear…someone who shared the same pleasures and who meant something to him…

So when they found themselves riding along the coast and the endless ocean greeted them gleaming with the city lights, the dying rays of oranges of the departing sun tracing the horizon, he knew it was a good choice.

When Bucky suddenly felt her legs tightening behind him, he looked back at her over the mirror when unexpectedly feeling the emptiness that she left his hold, She opened her arms wild and just started laughing so freely…

Going from the side mirror to the road and back to her to see the helmet visor retracting and eyes closed feeling the wind on her face, laughing out loud, which was contagious, they ended up whoo-ing like mad dogs!

She looked so happy and so free and bold and so much more. Pure ecstasy, a much-needed release for both of them...How he missed her, even though she was always within reach. That stupid outburst created a humungous reef between them just when they started to get closer and closer...

Bucky kept going back to her face in his mirror, and trying so hard not to forgo the damn road if it was up to him and just look at her endlessly, when she opened her eyes though, they locked for a dear minute, no need to say anything, her splitting smile said everything.

Like a silent conversation, he felt her arms back around him, hugging him tighter this time. always accompanied by a very pleasant exhale…Thank you for this Bucky, the silent voice echoed from her hug, that mystical language coming to life since they started living together. they were back just like that, he could feel it...

After a while; he felt her head resting on his back, checking back on her. She looked lost in thoughts, eyes regarding a different realm even though they were looking at the horizon. Holding him tightly and enjoying the steady, warm back she's pressed against, letting the roar of the motor block her thoughts, distracting her from her mind...she had time for that later.

Bucky couldn't fight the need to touch her, like a silent reply, he put his gloved hand over her tightly locked ones over his chest...and rode in perfect silence for a while, only the soothing sound of the bike as a company. Their most comfortable moments best shared in silence, only being close and present, was enough.

He located a clearing coming up so he changed course and headed there. it was clean and thankfully dry, small benches here and there, not very comfortable looking. When they stopped she was still rambling with excitement, he felt her legs vibrating still even after he shut down the engine and switched the light of the bike back on to illuminate the place.

Taking her time calming down before stepping down the leather seat. The adrenaline was having a blast in her bloodstream. which made him smile proudly.

" Oh, God! That was..that was..!" She stammered, taking the helmet off and bolting right up close to the bike. He was still over the saddle taking his helmet slowly, after killing the engine.

"Glad you liked it!" He confessed opening his jacket a bit, he was burning.

"'I liked it?!'" She snickered, "I COULD BE ON IT FOR HOURS BUCK!" she divulged with her hands all over the place, still trying to manage the adrenaline, he noticed her blown-out irises, the last time Bucky noticed them like that was when he was about to kiss the dancing out of her...

"I have no doubt Doll! huh! Just breathe for now" Bucky laughed, finely getting his leg over the bike and just sitting there, facing his adrenaline junky monster who was blushing now.

He was still leaning over the classic beauty, and she was pacing back and forth from the high still stammering and trying to put her thoughts into words, making her reckless and braver with every passing second. So many words to express how this simple experience made her feel like the perfect adjectives weren't created and the ones existing weren't enough.

So without any previous notion whats so ever. She found herself closer to him, invading his personal space, still not registering the bolled action. Panting, suddenly very very warm, the freezing breeze was welcomed for a change. Heart beating like she ran a marathon and suddenly that hunger she felt days ago after a special elating moment in her room was back.

All she could think about was those smiling lips, like a tunnel vision setting itself in her mind and those proud and pleased stormy eyes looking at her like she was the most interesting thing in existence, and so much more! Hair freed from that stuffy helmet with soft strong fingers. She wanted to do that, she wanted to touch him, to feel him, to be closer, her hands were itchy to just touch him! Still, she just wanted ...more.

Without any control left, suddenly there was no space between them, Bucky resting on the bike facing her, distracted by her, looking at her. The atmosphere changed, suddenly feeling so warm, Bucky had to clear his throat from the intensity of her black orbs. That -once upon a time in her room -shift of the molecules between them was happening again.

Taking her gloves off when she was gradually getting closer to him in her rapid babbling, promptly ending between his spread legs.

All he could hear was the soft whimper of his name before gloveless hands grabbed him on either side of his cheeks; whimpering when nails scratched that soft stubble under her touch, without any warning she was kissing him…

Ravenous lips, working over the ravaging of those soft oh so soft! luscious lips of his, finally allowing herself what she was resisting for so long now, keeping under control for months.

She couldn't start thinking about what her actions would bring… Thoughts for another time

Lips demanding and taking everything, delighting in every taste and every feel of skin on skin. Fingers finely claiming their rights within his locks, nails scratching lightly on his burning skin...Relishing what was always dangling in front of her like forbidden fruit, not asking for permission but surely begging for forgiveness later. No friends to interrupt them now!

Bucky kept still eyes wild and arms not sure where to be, seriously lost for words or action for a split second, he wasn't expecting this and dear god! He welcomed it with open fucking everything, not just arms!.

He needed...They needed and... and kept themselves from having for so long.

Feeling her hunger for him through her lips and teeth! Oh dear God!

The only thing he had to do was succumb to her and just feel.

But just when he finally could stop his mind and think about reciprocating she bolted back, suddenly noticing what she had done! like a fish out of the water, Bucky's face was freezing from the loss of her warmth. Eyes opening comically slow; like her sudden shift was torn from him.

"wh ... that!?..." He whispered utterly breathless, both of them seeking air "….what was that.?" He gasped again…. softly, fearing that if he spoke any louder he would shatter the spell and ruin what they have, looking at her visibly distressed.

" I .. di…." she was equally breathless and looked more lost! "I was…..I didn't m- I…" Trying to form a decent reply but nothing was working, all systems were down, rebooting was required.

"Hey!" he breathed, "Hey...it's ok!" He started clearing his throat suddenly feeling a myriad of emotions all at once; hands up, like she was a fucking cheetah, lips red and puffy from the kiss, glistening in front of him, those dark thoughts surprisingly silent

Fearing she would start regretting and closing herself to him, he continued whispering his reassurance. This beauty just did what he was fighting himself to do and cursed his luck of timing, and he certainly wouldn't make her feel like shit because she had more balls than him.

"I shouldn't...James, I'm so.." He prevented her from finishing her sentence by grabbing her back and hugging her still!

"Please don't apologize!" He begged in a whisper because honestly, he wasn't ready to hear what would come out of her mouth, he would die if it was another rejection or regret, so he cut her off, to prevent the ending of this moment. so he just held her till she calmed down, and her breathing subsided.

"Hungry? " He shredded the silence that started to wrap them both in, changing the subject, still keeping her close to him.

"Very!" She replied after a couple of seconds to ground herself, clearing her throat and looking at him for the first time since the searing look before she closed their lips together. He didn't miss the input behind her words though...God this girl will kill him one day!

He detached himself from her, looking like a lost cat for a second. Her sudden change of personality was always a blast to witness. He smiled fondly, and opened the small back section of the bike, taking out a container, a large thermos and what looked like a tightly folded, thick blanket.

Under Moon's eyes, he went for the illuminated space next to them setting the surprisingly large blanket, folding it so that they would have something warm over them when they sat down on the rest.

"Come here," He started warmly, and an inviting hand stretched out to her." It's not much but…" He trailed off as she took his hand enthusiastically, How could she refuse such a sight? Silently sitting down after accepting his hand, grateful for the distraction over her head.

He opened the container and she discovered a myriad of small sandwiches, wrapped with the logo of the delicious fast food truck that used to come by their neighbourhood, and the long thermos was filled with warm coffee.

"I didn't know what you liked, so I took a bunch of different ones to share!" He added tentatively with a nervous smile.

"Thank you, It's … perfect" Taking one over her crossed legs.

She acquiesced and started eating, grateful for the benign distraction. Gradually letting that comfortable silence settle in.

The conversation found its place back between them after a couple of minutes, she asked about his day and how she missed him for their morning routine, he felt warmer and warmer with her every word.

He told her about his storage unit and his stuff that he couldn't keep in the house yet he wasn't able to discard. without waiting for her shivering Bucky brought the rest of the blanket over their shoulders while finishing the sandwiches, here they were, warmly cocooned, eating under the wintery clear sky, the ocean waves lulling them.

He finally asked her about her date with what's his face as he relaxed more, stretching his legs in front of them, leaning closer to her warmth, the blanket still over their shoulder,

"It's wasn't a date Buck!" She laughed rolling her eyes finely back to herself.

"Really, did he know that?" he teased, pleased to have brought back that giggle.

"Yes, he knows, " she insisted, " Tom and I have known each other for years, and you can have fun with friends without getting into their pants!" yeah sure, how do you explain you assaulting the men just moments before?

she blushed and Bucky noticed!

"uh hu!" He sassed in a very familiar -don't take me for an idiot-manner, still chewing his bite, she laughed earnestly this time

" That first time wasn't a date either…" He started and then trailed off, Moon took a minute to see what he meant, and then it hit her, his first night in their home, she went out with Chris and came back to what is still her lock screen saver

"You mean that time with Chris?" she asked surprised over how he was still remembering that, he looked at her with a shy smile waiting for her to elaborate without being an intrusive asshat

" Chris is...well, he was .. he's an ex," She started, blushing, and honestly didn't know how to describe her relationship with Chris to anyone

" We used to go out till college, childhood sweetheart actually" she giggled to his surprise" we grew up together and we were our firsts in everything…" she trailed off obviously lost in her memories.

"I see, what happened?" he asked genuinely wondering

"Well Buck," she started "When you grow up and you live constantly with one person, you grow up missing certain facets of who you are or what makes you who you are, really, because of that person's presence or protection." She trailed off, he knew about that first hand, he had Stevie. "Independence and self-sufficiency were necessary for a healthy and mature relationship, after growing up, understanding how to care for someone was essential to avoid and get over any codependency issues, …"

She resumed her eating… looking beyond Bucky now. "He was constantly in my life, in every major stage in it, I knew him since I was a kid... I didn't even know who I was without him, I didn't even know if it was the need of him or the need for him... I don't know if it makes any sense to you what I'm trying to say…." she finally looked up at Bucky laughing nervously at her babbling, when he didn't comment, she continued.

" After all, staying in a relationship just because of the familiarity and safety rather than the desire for the relationship or the person was never a good mentality to have...we grew up, we changed, we wanted different things at the end, we were no longer kids, we had to fix the routine and break that bubble if we wanted to really know where we stood, and what would the next step be... we hit the stage in a relationship where marriage was the natural next step but it didn't feel right at that time...and for me to know who the real Moon…." she looked at him, silvery eyes taking her every word "Being with someone for that long and so early in the development of your character can hinge your personal development. So I needed to know myself first."

" But in the end, two different paths were open to us, and for me, independence was still a priority, which meant loneliness...Being unconstrained and finally being yourself meant facing life alone...which wasn't what I expected, as you can imagine " She laughed, " Sadly; that was a big surprise to discover!" she trailed off, then Bucky's understanding voice soothed her.

"Sometimes, when you have real feelings for someone and it doesn't work out," he started, " you shut down and all you can do is deal with the remaining aftershocks of those feelings…" He trailed off, grabbing her hands between his warm fingers. " you didn't know that your last case would be your actual last case! even though you said you'd be up for every outcome... Are you sure you got a proper closure with him?" he asked tentatively, looking at her earnestly…

"Oh yeah, that's not the issue, it was hard in the beginning and painful because of the familiarity, but it ended up on very good terms, I'll always love him in my way as he will always love me..." she started back, giggling," it's what came after that was the real messed up shit!" she looked back at him wiggling her eyebrows playfully.

"I see!" he laughed too" Let me guess, the tryouts!?"

"Exactly" she laughed, he smiled again, she felt so warm on this cold night, thank god it wasn't raining by some miracle…it was a beautiful night, a clear sky and gleaming ocean waves, cars going by behind them weren't even noticed, on the contrary, dropping to comforting background noise.

" Being with someone for that long made the 'quirks' you had, -which I wasn't even aware existed by the way- become an issue with new people ...the familiarity was gone, and not everyone would treat you like your close friends and family …" she huffed " strangers aren't obligated to love every aspect of you apparently…"

"What do you mean?" He asked

He should be aware of it, he was until recently a stranger, a new addition to her close circle. how could he be this oblivious?

" I'm talking about my ADHD! Bucky, I'm sure you picked up on things…you've seen how I get sometimes..."

"Like what?" he genuinely asked, she was perfect, the hell was she talking about?

" Are you telling me that my airheadedness never bothered you? I'm messy and irresponsible, I get overwhelmed over stupid shit, at least you know how impulsive I get sometimes!" She asked, clearly thinking about what happened before…

" And how is that an issue to be with someone?" Bucky asked

"Are you for real?" she whispered, disbelievingly lost!

"So you're telling me it never worked out with anyone after your...first time because of who you are and how your brain works differently than theirs?" she blushed, not the best kind though. That took her by surprise!

" Not just that, some blackmail and gaslighting were always a thin for me apparently! I guess I'm a magnet for the perverted narcissistic dickheads!" laughed, hiding behind her coffee. Bucky looking disbelievingly at her! So she continued "My last one said I was inconsiderate and rude because of my tendency of interrupting him and having no filter over what I say..and...the one before him said I was a 'selfish cold hag who never took care of him so.." she trailed off, the painful memory still fresh in her eyes from what Bucky could see.

"What an absolute ass!" he proclaimed with a very pissed off voice that surprised her really, "what the fuck is wrong with people!?" he sounded angry suddenly

"Spontaneity was a no-no in a relationship Buck! weren't you aware? and needing time to work your shit was an out of the question situation!" she laughed earnestly this time but the hurt was readable behind her glassy eyes avoiding eye contact. He honest to god growled!

Moon looked at him after, trying to see where that sudden mood change came from, certainly not because of what she just told him…

Looking at her now, Bucky understood a couple of things… why she looked insecure sometimes, and for a minute there, hiding behind the coffee drinking, and it was clear that she hated herself for it. like she was two people in one body, the bold beautiful tease and the shy insecure ball of fur, getting hurt by uptight dickheads and being blamed for it.

'OVER HIS DEAD BODY!'

"Look at me Moon '' He started, sitting up and taking her face between a warm and semi-warm metallic one. Trying to make her see what he saw in her.

" You are the most selfless and most caring person I've ever known…" Big brown eyes looking back at him, asking for approval or was it proof? with the most ancient language in existence...or was it just theirs?!... Bucky wondered at that for a second. "Don't you ever degrade or doubt yourself for any asshole's approbation you hear me! Especially to people, who don't deserve your heart..." People who don't deserve you...or your kindness, your warmth people who can hurt you… people who'd hurt you unintentionally just because they are messed up beyond measure! ..people Like….'like me'

Moon was drowning in his beautiful grey eyes now blown with the black pool at the centre, looking unreal with the light from the bike making one side dramatically darkened, so big and so honest, telling her what her mood swings and self-esteem made her overlook and forget.

Taking everything in, she leaned in and kissed him on his forehead, a silent overflowing of so many emotions when she closed her eyes. Bucky was suddenly back to the previously lost feelings still fresh in his mind in a grasp of a lip caress...how she was unpredictable to him was a mystery...he could never see her coming.

"Now you see how you are not the only one struggling with what they can't control.." she whispered, resting her forehead over his, her familiar cold hand gently to his side for a split second. He revelled in how he didn't mind the temperature of her touch in the slightest!... Her hands are always freezing, but her heart was a damn furnace.

" Yeah, it's hard to have a real romance when you can't even have a decent relationship with yourself!" he whispered back in a rocky voice. taking that cold hand to warm up between his huge flesh one.

"Depends on how you see Romance as, Buck!…" She started dead in the eyes, allowing the gesture with familiar ease. Suddenly her face turned comically dreamy, like a lovesick teenager fluttering her eyelashes lovingly.. this idiot! Bucky thought!

"A real romance for me is just being deeply stupid together." she sighed, looking far beyond the joke now "I dream of one-day meeting someone I can be deeply stupid with, and not feel embarrassed" she beamed at him.

"That sounds fantastic, little scorpion!" He burst up laughing, the cosy Mood stretched warmly, this was a beautiful evening. that comfortable silence gain...

she sighed looking back at the shyly moonlit sky, bringing the blanket firmly over her left shoulder, letting some space between their face for a bit, or else that spirit within her would do something equally dangerous…

"I like the night, it's more than a period of time for me," she whispered, stating her genuine belief like a sacred statement " it's another place, it's different from what we are -from who we are during the day." She corrected herself. "Little more hidden, more- less seen-, where life is more like a dream…No more masks to wear...No smiling when you don't want to, just..." She looked back at him, He seemed lost within her face somehow…She wondered what it was he found so interesting about her features? " I'm always happier at dusk!" She breathed voice all serious now, a sad smile over her lips.

"So...little vampire scorpion it is!" He started playfully, a stupid attempt to bring her back from those dark, so familiar thoughts, he recognised her tone, she laughed out loud this time to his delight...Stealing little looks of her from his peripheral vision to not make it uncomfortable, getting his attention back to where she kept getting lost beyond the horizon.

The engulfing emptiness of the vast sea...Bucky understood right then and there, that this creature next to him felt things more acutely than he will ever be able to like a different dimension was her hidden realm and only a few selected people had the privilege to step in…yet, her words hit home like no other, masterfully describing what he felt very often safely.

He found himself drawn to that place like a magnet seeking closeness, the need to be with her, to see, re-discover his blackest world through hers...It gave him a sense of excitement and a precious feeling of keeping the fight going, surviving, breaking that surface of the ocean and claiming that first breath of air and unintentionally, he drew a deep breath and closed his eyes... revelling in the moment.

who knew that an unplanned getaway with last-minute preparations would end up becoming one of the best moments in his existence. solely because of her presence.

"I apologize if I offended you earlier…" she whispered after a while, "I can say it's because I'm inconsiderate, but that would be lying…I just.."

"It's ok.." He cut her off with a surprisingly rough voice like it wasn't used in a while

What could he say? I kind of wanted to do that since like the first week that I knew you so…He omitted apprehensively, he can never say it out loud… he cleared his throat " I find your impulsiveness very endearing little vampire scorpion!" A warm finger over her flush cheek.

"You do! Don't you!" She snickered back but blushing nonetheless, he wiggled his eyebrows and took another bite, going back to that easiness, and of course, Bucky had to break it!

" Listen, Moon," He trailed off his voice so low and heavy with unsaid emotions "I apologize for last time, I shouldn't have screamed at you, you were only trying to help and I fucked it! Am sorry" All playfulness and mirth -gone!, she kept apologizing for the beautiful thing she gave him yet he didn't beg forgiveness for making her cry… what a dick!

she was silent for a minute, took a moment to understand what he meant, and the thing is, she knew he didn't have to, yet, he needed to, or it would keep eating at him. so she smiled warmly an understanding look over her face, and chose to reply in their silent language. it seemed like it was the only reply he needed, he didn't want any words of comfort or anything, he just needed her to know and her loving smile was the forgiveness he craved.

it felt so comfortable and so natural to just have him touch her like this, soft and warm fingers fluttering over warm cheeks under her dark gaze. like those awful days never happened.

she sighed and leaned against his shoulder drinking the warmth and steadiness of his body so close making her heart flutter. It was so nice to just talk, and open up to someone even a little.

"Let's go home" She whispered her usual warm smile with unusually warm fingers gliding over his temples, chasing a brown lock soothingly, still within their bubble till they reached their destination safe and sound.

The thing is, the heart is like a string being pulled from both directions, It's rigid and hard and they're times it's difficult to untangle and it can't be helped. But, if you put a new string or let someone fix it for you can lift a bit of that pressure off.
