Izuku's POV
A strike to the man's shoulder sent him flying into the concrete wall. Izuku ignored the pain in side as he jumped towards the wolf quicked villain. Fangs and claws had immediately come to the fight the moment he stepped in.
This was supposed to be an easy knockout and secure. However it seemed that the knowledge of his existence was getting out. The entire situation had been fabricated to bring him into a trap. They knew that he as Lykos was searching for their human trafficking operation.
This warehouse was supposed to have a bunch of kids they had kidnapped. All had mental quirks. Instead of breaking in and taking out the traffickers and rescuing the kids he was ambushed. His right side was ripped open by a man with a hardened fingernail quirk. If he hadn't moved when he did that quirk would have destroyed his entire side. Thus it would have caused him to bleed out on the warehouse.
Izuku breathed hard his head fuzzy from the blood loss. There was no way he could keep this up. Not if he wanted to be able to make it back to his warehouse. Normally Sien would have reacted to such injuries. But it was the night of the new moon and that meant he was silent.
If Izuku had a choice he wouldn't have even come tonight. He had known the dangers of coming without backup. Sien was his backup. A dangerous God that no one knew about. After all he was one of the Five Guardian Gods. They were protective of their chosen children. Even more so since he and Sien shared a body.
Should he use his emergency beacon to call for help? There was no guarantee that he would be able to get away. If he was caught the world would only look down upon him. All they would see was that he was quirkless.
Nezu had promised him a safe place to heal but that would only work if he was able to get away. The rat would not be able to help him if he was caught by the police or heroes. He hid himself behind a pillar. Trying desperately to catch his breath and staunch the bleeding the best he could.
A deep male voice called out, "Lykos you have been a pain in my ass since your debut. You should have just stayed small time instead of interfering in my business. Then you would have lived longer."
Izuku laughed darkly, "As if you would allow someone like me to live. Do not mistake me for an idiot. I may have fallen into your trap but I know you would have killed me anyways. If only to stop me from giving heroes any information."
The male voice chuckled as well, "Well that is true as well. After all one of your little informants took two of our targets. The brainwashing and empathic quirked boys. My plan was to kill you and that boy to send a message to the others of this city. Mess with me and you will end up dead."
Yeah this was beyond him. Whether he could get away or not he needed help. So he activated his emergency signal. Then it was a waiting game using his anima to keep them back. Ducking dodging trying to melt back into the shadows. Sadly it was an impossible task.
He took another strike using anima from a fox god's chosen. Under his skin he felt several break painfully as it flung him back. Izuku was barely able to get back up to his feet. Around him the traffickers surrounded him. Breathing was now more difficult than ever. His green eyes had dulled in pain.
There was no telling how much time had passed since he sent the signal. At this point if they didn't get here soon he might die. If that happened Shinsou and Kavar would be on their own.
That pushed him to keep fighting. Those two had enough people leaving them behind. He couldn't be another one to leave them behind. They placed their trust in him even a small amount when they came to stay with him.
The door exploded. Police rushed in drawing the attention of the traffickers. Izuku flung out a marble using his anima knocking back a trafficker who tried to shoot the police. The officer he protected nodded in acknowledgement.
Within a few moments the traffickers were down. A few hand bullet wounds from the officers. Others were just unconscious.
Izuku pressed one hand into his shredded side. The world grayed around the edges for a moment. When Tsukauchi approached he snapped his head over. Trying to eye up the detective and decide if he was going to be a threat.
The case wasn't over unfortunately. With it being a trap that meant they moved the children. If they were still alive that was. He could only hope that they hadn't been killed because he was getting to close. Izuku wasn't sure if he could handle such a thing.
Tsukauchi said with a frown, "Lykos you're injured."
"No shit, Captain Obvious," snapped back, "This was a trap for me. If I hadn't made an emergency signal it would have been bad. I probably wouldn't have made it."
There was a twitch of annoyance from the detective. He had to bite back a grin in response. It wouldn't help them but it did feel good to annoy the man. Even annoying him slightly.
Still he stood tall even as he kept one hand pressed into his wound. Around them the officers were loading up the traffickers. They trusted Tsukauchi to handle him but he could sense their wariness.
Tsukauchi frowned, "You need to go see the paramedics. They will get you patched up."
Izuku snorted ignoring the scream of his voice changer. Yeah they would patch him up and drug him to the gills so that he can be put in handcuffs. Izuku was more likely to trust Nezu than the paramedics with his health.
Tsukauchi's eyes narrowed as the vigilante shifted his weight. They squares off ready to fight if one or the other decided to attack.
Carefully Izuku said, "I'm not going with your paramedics. Instead I'll take Nezu up on his offer of a safe heaven and medical care."
Disbelief crossed the detective's face, "Nezu has offered you a safe heaven? Prove it. Show me the badge."
Izuku pulled said badge out one of his many pockets. While it was bloodstained there was no doubting its authenticity. For a moment he thought he saw a flicker of emotion in Tsukauchi's eyes. Then it was gone as if it had never been there at all.
"Get out of here," ordered the man.
"Excuse me?"
Tsukauchi turned away and headed towards the exit, "You heard me. If Nezu has vetted you for the moment I'll take his word for it. This is your one freebie. Make sure the rat calls me and I'll set up something with Tsuragamae. He will know what that means. Unless you trust me to drive you to see him."
That... was probably the oddest thing he had seen as a vigilante. Did Nezu have an agreement with the officers? If he did then that would make things very interesting. For now he just needed to make his way to UA.
