The following morning Raven floated to the kitchen to make her normal tea and was relieved when she saw no one there. She knew she could not avoid Beast Boy, but she could sure try. She shook her head, she knew she had to confront him eventually, she just wished to sort her emotions and thoughts before she had to do that. That all flew out the window as soon as she approached the kitchen counter. There she saw a small note hidden under her navy-blue coffee mug that read:

Hope you are feeling better, hope I did not mess up your tea. We have to eventually talk you know.

She looked around to see if anyone noticed the cup or the note there. She looked at the stove and noticed a tea kettle that had a lot of steam still escaping the spout.

He must have turned it off recently, but that is odd. The earliest I have ever seen Beast Boy get up that was not mission related was for the release of a new video game.

She noticed that he also had premeasured one of her favorite black teas in the silver tea filter that she always used. While pouring her hot water to let her tea steep she thought I didn't even know he even knew how to make tea even with a normal tea bag, he even got the measurements right… then her thought was interrupted with Robin coming in the common room likely going to get started with his morning coffee.

She quickly folded the note and tucked it within her leotard sleeve and met Robin's gaze.

"Morning Raven, glad to see you today. Are you feeling better?".

It took her awhile to remember what she was supposed to be feeling better from, but then she quickly remembered and replied stoically with, "Yeah I am, thank you for asking".

Her tea was now ready and when she was about to discard the used tea leaves in the garbage disposal Robin asked casually, "So did you see Beast Boy?". Raven almost knocked over her fresh brewed tea and she must have turned the faucet on when that happened because the sink turned on, even though she did not remember bumping into it.

She collected her composure, but made sure to avoid Robin's likely confused face, and said, "Why would I? Knowing him he probably just went to bed 1-2 hours ago". She did not need to look at Robin to know he gave a smirk, but she definitely would have never predicted his response.

"Any other day you're probably right, but actually, Beast Boy started volunteering at the Children's Hospital", Raven now turned to Robin to make sure he wasn't joking even though he would never joke about something like this.

"Yeah, you missed it because you weren't feeling well yesterday, but he told us he wanted to start volunteering somewhere, and we helped him come up with volunteering at the downtown children's hospital. You know how much kids love him", Robin could not help but lightly chuckle, "probably because he basically is one himself".

Raven was staring at Robin with disbelief. Beast Boy, getting up before the morning cartoons would even begin and was going out of his way to go do charity work? She knew, along with everyone else, that he had a heart of gold and his greatest joy in life was trying to make others smile, no matter the cost, and oh did she know that since he had the scars to prove it from her end.

When Raven did not verbally give a reply, Robin ended the conversation with, "I really am proud of him. Cyborg and I were betting that he was making it up on the spot but when I noticed he wasn't here this morning when I oversaw the morning's security tapes, I knew he was talking about the real deal. Maybe he is not a kid anymore, maybe Beast Boy is not so boy anymore".

Raven nodded her head in confirmation, "This is a good thing he is doing; I can only hope he keeps it up. I am sure that he can give those kids a day to remember". Raven started sipping her tea and noticed that it was just right, she excused herself from Robin and went to her room.

As she walked down the hallway to her room she could not help but think about the complete 180 Garfield just did for his character development. She was surprised that he knew what tea she would drink in the morning. She reserved her black or sometimes green teas in the morning because they had caffeine while she reserved her non-caffeinated herbal teas throughout the day.

That was probably just a coincidence, he probably just assumed my go to would be the darkest tea he could find. Did he know it was the right call to not pre-make the tea or else it could have burned it?

Raven always made sure to not let her tea steep for too long or else the tea would be too for sure she was certain was a coincidence, how would Beast Boy even know about that? She was also surprised he got the measurement right. Beast Boy was never the most detail-oriented person, she thought if he were to ever be instructed with making tea and somehow figured out how her filter worked, which was another mystery in itself, he would've filled it to the brim. Nope, she saw her tea measuring spoon that she always use for her teas on the drying rack still wet.

He washed a utensil right after using it too?

She didn't think anyone, let along Garfield would pick up on any of those small details about her.

Why would he? Or I mean anyone.

To top it all off he was now giving up a day to sleep in to go see sick children.

How much more of a saint can he try to be now? She was not sure if it had anything to do with her, more specifically that not kiss. She shook her head, that small insignificant sliver of time could not have caused this complete shift in Beast Boys composure.

As soon as she entered her room and felt the door closed, she could not help but think Maybe Robin is right, maybe he is growing up. Maybe he doesn't fit his old superhero name anymore. "Maybe he is not a boy anymore", and she may have said that last thought out loud.
