Azure King: Hello sorry for the lack of updates, was having a bad writers block again. But hopefully things will motivate me to write if you guys review hint hint.

Also didn't know it would be well received I hope you all like more of this series. Let's start this fun now!

CHAPTER START!

Naruto sighed as he heard the school bell suddenly go off, ignoring many of the students who walked by him. It's been a full two weeks since he started his training under The Batman of Gotham City. It wasn't anywhere close to training with his grandfather as Batman is a perfectionist for both himself and those who train under him. It wasn't something that was really something he didn't appreciate but man was it a hard lifestyle.

Both he and Robin had a max 6 hours of sleep at least but their teacher was barely hitting four due to using realllllllllly weird stuff that will help him reduce sleep just to do his fight against crime longer. And thankfully he didn't make them take the same stuff he had.

It was a really strict life yet lax, while in his public life Naruto had permission to do what he wanted like his old life back at New York with Zatanna. But he had to keep his grades at B+ at the very least, anything lower and he will be forced out of his nightly training with the two heroes. Thankfully he was already a good student before coming to Gotham. The school he went to was one of the best private schools and a public school like where he was at was nothing but a walk. Originally Bruce Wayne wanted to send Naruto to where Dick was but he was able to tell him no as he spun a rather convincing lie to stay with the public to put an ear on the ground.

It didn't work obviously, but Batman did admit that he was impressed at the attempt and allowed Naruto to go there as long as he still took a test similar to Dick, and had to make sure his level of intelligence was still sharp and good as his fellow comrade. Other than that it was a pretty good lifestyle, as outside of his school he had some allowance to use the Wayne money for some fun.

But he hasn't really used it for anything, save for a few days of his own supplies for art and when forced to hang out with friends… Naruto lost his train of thought as he was reminded of a certain someone back home.

"Hey why the long face?"

Naruto lifted his head to see a dark skinned male smiling at him, "Oh hey Ethan, sorry, I was thinking about a friend back home." He said standing up and hoisting his shoulder book bag on his body,

Ethan gave a sheepish look at the reason, as Naruto all told the teens that he just moved to Gotham due to some problems at home that his family friend was able to take him in for a few months. He also learns from hanging with Naruto that he had a pretty bad break up with how he left without apologizing. The young man made his arm around Naruto's shoulder to give him a brotherly comfort, "C'mon let's go to the court and play some Basketball."

Naruto chuckled as he shook his head, "Come man, we just shot hoops yesterday… and I lost badly." He reminded the teen who chuckled as it was true. Naruto never liked showing his full potential to keep his identity as far away as his civilian self as possible. Another trait Batman actually encouraged as his separate lives were like night and day.

Ethan smirked as he crossed his arms, "Alright then the comic shop." He said smiling at Naruto's louder groaning at that. "So your ass handed to you… or there…?" He trailed off as the blonde childishly walked ahead, while pouting and grumbling like a child would be.

"Finnnnnnnne," he whined as he turned to his friend. "Comics…"

"Heh," Ethan smirked.

"Don't laugh. This was a lose-lose situation right from the get-go." Naruto grumbled with a pout, as the two left the school grounds where they saw a girl wearing a red jacket in the school entrance. "Oh it's Yin." The masked vigilante said, pointing out the teen in front of them.

The two watched as she turned to see both him and Ethan walking towards her, she smiled softly. "Hey guys, no hoops today?"

Ethan shook his head playfully punching Naruto arm, who he grumbled and rubbed the injured limb. "Nah, this guy is having a bad day. Figure we hang out at the comics to see if the next issue is out." He said, chuckling at Yin's sudden groan of anger.

"I take that personally…" Naruto growled.

Yin lifted her hands on her head's sides, "Was it today they released it? Dammmmn, I wanted that issue…if I text my uncle…" she said, taking out her cellphone and rapidly massaging her uncle. "If he lets me, mind if I tag with you guys? I barely was able to get last week's issue."

"Dude, there's only two issues…" Ethan said as he ignored Yin's glare. "Alright… yo Naruto you ok with this?"

The blonde shrugged his shoulders, "Not much issues here, if any actually."

The woman smiled brightly at the news, "Oh thanks, you're a lifesaver! Alright, gimme a minute." She said, as her thumbs continued rapidly typing. After a few moments of sending a message, she got a reply, "Yes! I can go!"

"That was fast." Naruto said as Ethan chuckled.

"Her olds man bro is an efficient dude." He said walking ahead as Naruto walked with the new coming… looking at her discreetly with the masterful guidance that Batman taught him. Yin was the same age as him, but with dark raven colored hair and a healthy complexion. Like her name her ethnicity was definitely Asian as anyone could tell. She always wore that red jacket for as long as he knew her, which isn't a lot, but from Ethan who was friends since elementary school.

The three walk down the streets of Gotham as they reach the closest comic store as Naruto enters with lots of people swarming him. "Crap~!" He shouted when they all started to ask questions and begged for autographs while holding two comics while doing so. "Please-"

"YO~!" Yin shouted as everyone backed off from the intimidating girl, "My uncle's a cop, get near Naruto and I'll say you're harassing him!" With that said the others mumbled a move away from the teen as he was able to breathe without someone invading in a private bubble.

"Some things never change, does it," Ethan scratched the back of his head with a wry grin.

"I really wished my mother didn't do this…" Naruto complained, at the idea of how this fandom happened.

During the two weeks (actually 16 days to be honest), Naruto had two issues of the comic series that the man and his company promised. While excelling well in school it left a lot of free time when he finished his school work ahead of time, so he just made pages for what his comic would have. The Batman Who Laughs was a cult classic in just two issues, nearly everyone who loved comics on heroes and dark elements were buying multiple copies to either keep and have him sign later.

"Man…" Ethan said looking at a kiosk stand of the Batman Who Laughs menacingly holding a chain that was cut off, "Where do you come up with this shit?" He said a bit put off by the character.

"If I told you, you'd be scarred for life…" Naruto deadpanned.

Yin chuckled at the idea, "Probably, still as much as I hate the Batman this is a comic I love. This shows exactly why we need to put him away." She said ignoring Naruto deadpan expression of her rather vocal views on Batman. "Uhh…" she blushed, handing Naruto the comic. "You don't mind?"

He gave a wary smile, but nonetheless signed it, ignoring the whines from the other people who liked his work. Yin was a good person, actually one of the few beside Ethan who helps out voluntarily at shelters and events for the less fortunate. But she hates Batman considering her uncle is a detective and blames the supervillains coming out due to him. Of course he wasn't in the same way, he fears Batman but believes in his cause.

But Ethan always told them to leave in school where they can argue where it won't escalate too much.

"So~ I guess the next issue won't be out for some time." Ethan said, seeing that the kiosk had very few copies left, sporadically spread around the stand.

"Actually no… I got the pages for the next eight issues ready. And also Dawnbreaker and Grim Knight." Naruto said, although whispering the last two.

"Wait, already?" Ethan said wide-eyed.

"Yeah… I just have to get them to Kuro so he can give them to his uncle before the end of the month." Naruto shrugged, "But its mostly surprising that it's so loved."

Yin shrugged as she spoke, "I think it's the idea that even heroes could be evil or something, that you know for a long time they are heroes it gets boring knowing they would save everyone. But The Batman Who Laughs…" She said looking at the cover of the newest issue with a smile. "Is a dark refresher of sorts."

Ethan laughed at that, "But you hate Batman…" he said ending with a soft chuckle as Yin nodded happily at that.

The three chuckled as Naruto looked into more comics, even getting a few manga they actually had in stock, but he felt his eyes getting tired. "Shit… must be that new game I started. I should really cut back on gaming for that." The blonde complained as he looked at his two friends with a sad smile. "Hey, I don't feel well. Mind if I go home?"

Ethan shook his head with a small concerned look on his face, "Sure man, get some rest. Tomorrow we can hang out, no basketball I promise!" He laughed as Yin walked towards the blonde.

"Do I need to leave my mind if I tag along?" She said as Naruto nodded, letting her leave the store with him. Looking at Naruto who shook his head allowed her to come with him as they spoke. "Soo…you really defend the Batman?"

Naruto made a 'so-so' gesture with his hand, "I don't really like him but it's still something to command. I know your uncle is in the force but even the Bat helped me…" He said with his mind wondering what he was really thinking. 'Or currently helping me get better…'

Yin gave a small shrug at the comment, "To each his own, but seriously you ok? Your eyes are looking bad." She noticed a twitch in her friend's eyes a few minutes later.

"Not really, I think it's from my recent coming to this city." He admitted as it was partly true, his nightmares were coming back in larger frequencies than before. Was it because Batman was near him, or that he was still having doubts about this…but he also believed it might be with Zatana. "Maybe a huge nap would help."

Yin pat his back softly, "You got me and Ethan if you really need help. I know we haven't know each other for long, but I always look out for my friends." The asian girl said.

"Yeah, I know. I appreciate that, really." Naruto smiled sadly at her.

Yin then saw a car waiting for her at the corner. "Dang my uncle is here, catch you later." She started to move towards the car but spun around. "I meant it, call me if you need help!" With that she fully dashed where she left in the car.

The young man sighed before noticing he was near a rundown building, "Fate decrees me to be at the Wayne Mansion." Naruto whispered, moving to the only door that was still able to be used correctly. When he suddenly entered the main room of the Wayne mansion, "Goddamn I love that spell." He chuckled as he saw Robin/Dick from above him on the second floor, "Yo."

"Dude, you gotta teach me that!" The acrobat said, flipping with the grace of a master as he looked behind Naruto to see nothing unusual but the normal front yard of a large manor.

"Sorry, that's sort of a need-to-know kind of spell thing." Naruto waved off as the two shared a laugh, "Hey does Bruce still have that paralyzing agent for when he ever gets controlled?"

The young boy who was still laughing nearly coughed out his laugh when that question came out, "Gak! *Cough* Seriously? Again?"

Naruto looked around as he spoke, "I don't see Batman here." He said as both teens flinched when the butler 'ahem' entered their area. "Sheesh Al let us know."

The butler merely smirks at the two frightened members of Alfred's employer, "Forgive me, Master Naruto. But I do hope you let me help, I am a trained and licensed caretaker."

"Thanks Alfred." Dick sincerely thanked the uncle figure in his life for the help, however he turned to Naruto. "Are you seriously going back there to look for answers?"

The blonde took a moment to think about it and he agreed to it, "Yeah I need answers and weirdly enough it helps my reaction timing." He started as the two males helped him get ready… ready to storm the Batcastle.

WITH BATMAN, AT THE WATCHTOWER

Batman was always one to keep a watchful eye on his surroundings, always keeping vigilant. Wherever criminals may show up, he will be there to stop them. Joker. Penguin, Riddler, Cat Woman. It didn't matter. They were criminals all the same.

"Batman?" Superman, a dark haired alien asked his long time friend and often confidant.

Batman turns to see the red and blue dressed man at the table with other Justice League members.

"Yes I am in agreement on future members joining." The Batman declared as the others agreed to the majority vote.

The Justice League, the spiritual successor of the Justice Society of America, who gather the most heroic and greatest heroes on Earth, super or non-super. The likes of Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and many others.

"You okay, Bruce? You seem like you're spacing out." Flash, a man wearing a red bodysuit with yellow and lightning bolt pattern, stated.

"As I said that if the vote is necessary I shall be the tie breaker, there was no need for me to come here." The dark knight reminded them, while he was a member of the League and one of the original founders, he still rather kept a distance from them. Both from his own worries they one day might turn against humanity either willing or unwilling, and with Naruto who told him some of the Nightmare versions of himself it was good that he has someone to also know what he feels.

"C'mon Bats, it's not like Gotham needs you at this moment. It's daylight, what you're going to help little old ladies to the other side of the street." Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, chuckled as the stoic hero gave the Green Lantern member a powerful glare. "Uhh, still I think this is good for a break, yeah?... Please say yes so he can stop."

Chuckling at the sight of the usual antics, Wonder Woman, a tall and almost goddess-like beautiful woman nodded. "We shall resume the meeting after a thirty minute break." She said as the members all talked lightheartedly and Batman watched as someone also stayed in the room with him.

The Dark Knight looks at the recent member that joined the league a while back, "Something you wish to discuss with me, Zatara?" He said as he looked at the magician of the league.

Giovanni Zatara, a member that recently joined the league on recommendation from Kent Nelson, saying that the League members needed as many diverse members and one with magic (despite how many of them were skeptical at the time) would be a welcome addition.

"Yes." He nodded, with a frown that usually wasn't towards his allies. "I'd like to know where Naruto is."

Bruce didn't speak as Zatara matched his infamous glare as he spoke, "He's fine, the young man is doing well. Do not worry-"

The magic hero didn't allow the caped crusader to finish, as he spoke over the man, "That's not what I'm asking. I'm asking where he is."

"I assume you talk to Kent and Kushina?" He said remembering the information he dug on Naruto and the Zatara family, both he and Kushina were a pair of allies when she was still active as 'Longius'. After her incident that cost her legs, Giovanni was still close to her as he even introduced her daughter to Naruto.

The two families always support each other as when Giovanni was about to leave the league, when his wife was diagnosed with cancer. Both Kushina and her husband not only helped pay her medical bills but also took in Zatanna from time to time, when he was away on missions for the league and his wife had to stay at the hospital.

The Italian man would go as far to say that Naruto was the son he never had and would protect him with his life like his daughter. So it was no real surprise to Bruce that he wanted to talk to him, even if he was on the same side given his record with his own ward fighting with him.

The bat crusader relented, "He's living with me. And training under me as well."

Zatara's eyes widened in both rage and alarmed, "The hell is wrong with you?! I understand that the young ward is willing to do that, but not Naruto. He is too young." The magician shouted with his legs standing up from outrage.

"You're training Zatanna to be a mage," he started as the father of the girl shook his head.

"She has the spark to use magic, I am teaching her to use it with respect and caution. I am not going to let her become a hero, perhaps if her mother was alive…but no, you will take me to get Naruto."

"He won't come back." Batman replied as the well dressed magic user sighs at that knowledge.

"I will bring him back home kicking and screaming if need be." Zatara gave the man a sad look clutching his hands into fists, "He is just a boy…barely just got into Highschool. And you want him to see the horrors of your city. Drug runners, gangs, human traffickers, and other stuff like that."

"…" Somewhere in Bruce he knew what Zatara said was right, but unlike Robin he needed to keep Naruto in his sights. The fact he knows not only information on Bruce Wayne but these potential darker versions of himself might somehow help him in the future. Not only that it was also for Kent and Kushina who allowed this to go well with their permission. "He needs to learn if he's to control his rage."

"Learn? Learn what exactly?!"

"Do you remember how Kushina was crippled?" Batman started as Zatara looked down in shame. The memory was still vivid as ever… cold rain, warm blood on his hands when he tried to help Kent heal her.

The immigrant nodded, taking a seat to recollect his emotions, "...I know that all too well." He whispers softly and remembers the horrible day, Kushina despite her constant vicious mindset and once villainous career. Is and will always be like family to him, nearly losing her almost felt like losing a dear sister in his eyes.

"He's trying to find that man who did that to her… you've been also looking for him but Naruto learned his location was in Gotham by using spells that Kent was going to teach him. He pushed past any limit and with vengeance was going to find that man."

"Even so, you can't possibly-" Zatara tried to interject, but Bruce cut him off.

"There was no other alternative." Batman interrupted, remembering the fact that if he doesn't train Naruto correctly he might be an enemy for them to deal with. But he cannot say that to the man, no doubt it will fuel his urge to bring Naruto back more. "If it were up to me, I would've refused the offer. And believe me, I tried. But he needs a strict code, not your mage one as he keeps the oath he made with Kent strong. But he needs honor and the mental will to not kill his enemies. Robin was filled by vengeance to kill the man who murder his family, I wish to give Naruto that same benefit that Robin was able to do."

Zatara glared before slamming his fist on the table, "I swear… I swear to you Bruce." He started lifting his gaze to the man which Bruce would honestly find terrifying if he was a lesser man. "If I hear Naruto was crippled or died by your watch… you'll need to use every trick up your sleeve to keep me away from you."

"I wouldn't do that, if anything I let you in the front door." Batman declared as the mage sat back down, drained from his emotional moments. "You know he has nightmares…" Bruce realized to which the man across from him nodded.

"My daughter told me… the first of them when they were kids." He started as Bruce secretly played a recorder for this information, "Zatanna screamed for me and her mother. Holding a crying Naruto who had a knife… but it was more for protecting Zatanna than for anyone else."

"And what happened after?" Bruce inquired.

"He said 'A bad man dressed like a devil was asking me to follow him. I said No, but he laughed and grabbed my arm, I screamed and woke up thinking he was above Z,' I thought it was because of a scary movie me and my wife saw and he snuck a peek." The man gave a sad smile at the innocent idea of a nightmare, "Until Kent called me to ask if I could look at something. Ecudorper…" with a magic word his hand gently waved to show… the Batman Who Laughs, in crayon but as childish as it was… it still struck fear into Batman.

"I… assume he saw your exploits and was scared into being a good boy. But it was almost nonstop, he only slept if I allowed Zatanna to sleep over, and when they got too old where it wasn't morally okay, he was forced to take pills. Eventually he was able to get used to them." Zatara said as Bruce felt… a bit saddened for the child he took under his wing.

Nearly all his life his sleep was plagued by that monster, "There's also that key that needs to be watched."

Batman eyes narrow at that, "What key?"

"It's a long story and possibly not true," he waved off as the detective didn't go after it, it was for another time. "Is it okay for my daughter to visit him?"

"I'm sorry, but no." Bruce stated, "For the time being he needs to adapt to my style of fighting and how to live as a hero in the darkness. It will be a week or two at most before he can adjust well enough, but I agree he needs to see her. Whatever was said between them is making Naruto unfocused in training."

"Very well…" Zatara said, before turning around to leave. He paused in his steps as he looked over his shoulder. "I really hope you know what you're doing, Bruce."

"…Likewise…" he should get back but he needed to attend the meeting.

It's not like Naruto and Robin were able to cause too much trouble.

NARUTO, LOCATION UNKNOWN

"Fuck, fuck, fuck…" Naruto whispered as he hid behind a staircase hearing footsteps following him. "…" he covered his mouth to make as little sound as possible when he felt the person walk away.

He dared not to breathe, for if even a tiny bit of air escaped his lips, they would immediately find him. Nothing happened as he heard footsteps slowly fading, "…" Taking the moment to get out before the being returned.

"Where's that place?" He muttered walking slowly with softer footsteps to avoid getting almost caught again. He looked around as he was in the main entrance with a giant stairway in the middle of the room, "Where's some Kingdom Hearts background music at a time like this?" Naruto managed to joke before cupping his chin. "Last time I was here… right I gotta take the stairs."

WIth that he quickly rushed up to head to the second floor and proceeded to go to the left side of the room. "Gotta hurry, I got another hour before they really noticed I'm here." Moving to an endless hallway the young man glances outside to see an infinite number of stained glass windows passing by him to show a red stain sky with lightning striking down.

"Two…" He whispered smirking as he lunged his shoulder to the door when the second lightning came-

CRACK~!

There was a flash illuminating the place briefly.

"Ugh… never easier…" The blonde picked himself up to see the large hole he made was now slowly fixing itself, and turned to see a library before him, almost bigger than anything he had seen. "It has to be here somewhere. The key, something that does not exist, and at the least the name of this location."

As he pondered this, he swiftly moved through the library, making a note of the plethora of shelves that he passed through to make sure he didn't pass through them twice. He then spotted what he was looking for and took the book out of its shelf. Of course, the book was written in a different language, but it wasn't something he can't fix.

"Etalsnart," Naruto said as the words on the book shifted into English, "Nothing," Again he looked for each book to hope he would get a hint to this madness he was born with…eventually…

"Gah…" Naruto cringed as his left arm fell dead in a sudden moment. "Geez Alfred…"

WITH ALFRED AND ROBIN

"I think you added too much that time." Dick said watching Naruto in a deep sleep suddenly went limp when Alfred injected more paralyzing venom into Naruto's arm when they saw it violently move.

"Oh nonsense, Master Dick. It's the proper amount." The butler declared as he also looked at a pocket watch to show how much longer Naruto has, "Thirty minutes left, by his estimate. His mind should think it's another hour at least, if the math is correct."

Dick sighed as this was never easy…

Naruto convinced him and Alfred to help him enter his nightmares, unable to stay longer than usual as it would lead to his body by instinct to defend itself despite being in deep sleep. Robin nearly had to get Alfred to wire his jaw shut when Naruto foot landed a particularly heavy kick to his face.

Using the paralyzing agent for more powerful supervillains, they were able to keep Naruto's body at least still when they needed it to be. Sadly this was still risky as Naruto was still in his nightmares with those horrible variations of evil Batman. Last time Naruto was given a night off when the first encounter was too intense for him.

"C'mon man, don't make us wait too long…" Robin said as he heard a cough from behind them and sighed. "Hey… Bruce…"

NARUTO'S NIGHTMARE

XXXXXXXXXX

"Nothing! NOTHING! NOTHING!" Naruto roared, tossing book after book on empty knowledge did not need.

"Dammit! Why isn't it here?!" He asked no one in particular. "It has to be here!"

This wasn't right, he was here when the first nightmare started… looking at the middle of the room where it stood before trying to convince Naruto to follow him. He looked at the symbol of where that being stood… a bat wings spreading out like The Batman's own symbol.

Naruto walked up to it to fall on his knees feeling failure on his failed attempts to understand why he was given this curse. "…I can't do this… I can't go back to shoveling meds down my throat to sleep. It's too hard…" he whispered as he slammed his hand to the floor. "I don't want to be in this hellhole, those monsters, those backgrounds. I don't… I don't want to die…!"

The mage shouted until he saw a glow somewhere near the back of the room . "What?" He got out, slowly getting up. "Is that…"

He saw a book glowing as he move close to it about to reach out for it-

"Kuhaha… kahahaha…"

Naruto felt his blood drain from his body from hearing a dark laugh that sounded familiar, more familiar than to the voice that he hears now living in Gotham. The one who made him fear that person. Turning his body around he saw nothing, only for the voice to speak again.

"Ahh… so you have arrived at long last…"

"Batman…" he said, hoping that he would reveal himself. "Where are you?" He said, his hand slowly making odd gestures behind his back where he had his back against the wall. No one would see his actions.

"Gahaha… You think I would care if you call me that? Kahahahahaha..." Naruto turn his back as he felt something from behind only to barely catch a glimpse of a black shadows. "You know my name… you know the truth that he will become me."

Naruto slowly inched into the book as he tried to reach the book, "He isn't like you, he has Robin and others to help. You killed everyone because you lost your damn mind."

"Kuahaha, but that's how it starts… I pretend I was going to ask for help before gunning them down like Robin King did to Alfred… speaking of which he wants to meet you. Since you helped see him now…" Again Naruto turned to see a shadow escaping his view, "Zatanna was so fun to kill… rip her jaw open and she can't talk… watching the blood-"

"SHUT UP! DON'T YOU DARE SPEAK HER NAME!" Naruto finished his hand signs as he held a orb of red flames, "BURN!" He shouted as a flame was flung behind him to see row after row of shelves filled with books engulf in flames and flung back. He glared as he saw something erratically moving in the hell flames he conjured. "I won't let you-"

"Crow…crow…" Naruto's eyes widened in horror as he saw the body that was moving in pain suddenly stood…with two more standing up… then four… soon he heard the word repeat again and again as he saw children with white wide eyes and pale bleach skin.

"Children…" Naruto whispered as the kids started to gather around him, "Crow…crow…crow…" as if they were watching a wounded prey ready to be eaten.

"No, no, no, no, no…" Naruto whimpered as he slowly tried to back away, but couldn't. "No! Stay away from me!"

"Bar." Naruto watched as he saw a pale man wearing a jet black skin tight suit, with a bright red smile on his face that was scary rather than comforting. "Good, you're learning to kill before being killed. You have potential to join us, the newest Darkest Knight…"

Naruto crawled away until a knife flew to his leg, "Gah!" He shouted as he held the bleeding limb. "I'd r-rather die!"

The Batman Who Laughs chuckled darkly, "Die? No no…you see you're my ticket in…my little Charon. Now…join or…"

"I…I will just…" Naruto started as he grabbed the shelf behind him, "Take this…" he said, grabbing the book as his body started to shine.

"Get him! Crowbar!" The Batman Who Laughs orders the Robins started to dash towards Naruto.

Naruto jumped over them using some as a foothold to get on top of the top of the bookshelves, "Etalsnart!" His eyes scan as the child reads the title, "Aw hell…" Naruto was watching the words slowly arrange themselves. "Let me get this straight you knowingly paralzed Naruto to helped him get into his dreams to find something that might help him?" Bruce said pitching the bridge of his nose at the idea of this happening when he wasn't here.

Robin had the decency to look slightly embarrassed at the sight of him being caught, "Look he said he can do it," he said pointing to Naruto's unmoving body. "The first time was off because we didn't think it was potent stuff."

Alfred also took a step forward, "Sir, if you need to find someone at fault it shall be me. I knew it wasn't a sound idea but Master Naruto pleaded with me." The butler explained as Bruce shook his head.

"We'll discuss who's at fault later, right now we need to wake up Naruto." He said moving towards Naruto reaching for the adrenaline syringe, not potent as many hospitals have but enough to stay wide awake for an hour.

"Wait." Dick said from behind, "Its not the right time, Naruto still-" he looked at his mentor who gave him a serious look. "It could be something important, he might be able to get what he got."

Bruce shook his head softly, "Therefore it could mean that he could be in a dangerous situation. I'm waking him up-" he said, grabbing the limb of his new ward…only for him to be stunned as Naruto sat straight up,his head cracking as he looked at Bruce… before screaming in a horrifying voice.

"Ymg' ahor ah ya nyth'drn ot n'gha, ng fahf gof'n Iiahe ya sll'ha'drn llll mgehye l' ymg' shuggog!"

Bruce tried as hard as he could to break free of Naruto's grasp only for a small glow from Naruto chest to catch his eye, soon his free hand grabbed where the light was shining as Bruce and Naruto fell silently as if life was ripped from their bodies.

"Bruce/Master Bruce!" The two family members of the Bat family shouted as they move to Bruce who was breathing but couldn't wake up.

Only for the shine from his hand to glow dimly as if to indicate he was alive.,

Naruto was locked inside a room as he barely survived escaping the library before The One Who Laughs allies started to join up and take Naruto to…wherever they plan to do to him. He scrambled the page as he felt his body unable to stay focused as his mind felt like it was going to fade. The clear sign he was waking up from a nightmare. But nothing was clear, some words were still translating while the few words that were didn't sound coherent for him to get any advice.

"C'mon," he said looking at any page with a full translated sentence, near the beginning he saw something. He scrambled to read it as the last words were forming a full sentence, "T-Those wh…o are connected by the dark worlds…a-are able to escape the viewing by-"

Crash!

"Shit!" Naruto said as the BWL arm came out from the door, he quickly looked down to finish what he saw. "By… By… goddamn it is the equivalent of slow WIFI for magic?!" He shouted as the last word seemed to be conflicted on which letters would go!"

"Naruto, come out and play~ayyy!" Batman Who Laughs said as the door was open walking in slowly while taking out a mess of chains to possibly bind up the dreamer. "There you are…"

The young ripped the page of the book as he threw it at The Darkest Batman as he tried to leap over him, until a chain grabbed his ankle and violently pulled him to the ground hard! Before anything else happened, a bright light filled the room as both the teen and nightmare vanished.

The Robins stood still patiently waiting for their master to return, "Crow…crow…" They whispered as soon the shadows on the floor pooled together slowly like ooze creep up as once again the Batman Who Laughs rises.

"Kuhahaha… soon the child will awaken to his true powers… and I got to talk to him…" leaning downward to see the book Naruto had thrown was still missing a page. "Grow strong little gatekeeper…" he said, showing a small scrap of paper in his hands before letting fall.

"Ahh!" Naruto shouted at the sight of Robin in front of him, "Dude! Not cool!" He said as the fellow teen hero moved away as Naruto slowly and grudgingly sat up. "Ugh I feel heavy." He looked at the sight of Batman who was in a chair, "Oh crap…"

Robin shook his head, "We're okay, actually he-"

However he wasn't able to finish his words as Bruce spoke over him, "Had a rough time with the League, nothing bad." He lied, ignoring Dick's confused look, "We're… going to talk about this later. Next time we're going to do this together. If you're going to do this, maybe we can make it work to your favor."

"Awesome…ugh…" Naruto's arm felt a steering pain as he used the other hand to rub his hurting limb to hear a crackling noise… and was shocked to see it was the page. "No way…" as the three males walk towards him to see the page. "This is from my dream…"

The first student of Batman looked shocked at the sight of what his friend said, "How is that… magic right…" he chuckled with a weak smile though despite saying it the worried look on his friends face only made him believe that it wasn't something that happens often…or at all.

Naruto looked at the words and sighed, only one sentence still but he looked at it, "Fuck me…" he said as the page was ripped leaving him with again nothing.

"But it's not bad." Alfred said looking at the paper, "We have more answers with this little hint." He said as Naruto perked up to it.

However Bruce was ignoring them as he remembered what happened after losing consciousness…

A FEW MINS AGO, BRUCE MIND

The dark Knight saw he was in that alleyway again, his old pain and anger rising as he hoped Naruto wasn't doing this consciously. Before trying to think why he was here… he heard the sound of metal scrap against the pavement of the road. Turning around, for the first time in his life, he felt fear when it walked towards him. "Who are you?" He asked as the shadowy being walked under the streetlamp to show a joker-like grin… on a pale skin face.

He knew who it was… from all the comics that were circulating around his city, and from the artist who lived with him. "…What are you?"

The being chuckled darkly… it was more unhinged than his worst enemy The Joker, it had a perfect amount of crazy intentions but with hints of sanity to make one's iron will shake from the sound of madness. "Ha, always the detective…eh, Bruce?" He said walking towards him only to grab a batarang with his bare hand smirking as he clutched the weapon into his hand to draw blood. "Good instincts… always asking the right questions."

Bruce glared harder as he was ready to throw another, "Answer me." Was his only warning before the man suddenly vanished grabbing Batman mask and removing it before backing away and pulling off his metal headgear. Showing Bruce his own face, distorted with a manic grin, painted red lips like Jokers, pale bleach skin, and red eyes that are demonically red.

"Who I am is easy, you see it everyday you look in the mirror." He said, chuckling lightly at the horrid look on his 'good' counterpart's face. "Now what I am is more complicated, but you also know the answer, after all you have seen me in your dreams… where you finally kill the clown, hearing the laugh finally stop…just for a new one to take its place… yours! Kuahahahahah!" He laughed as the light started to fill the alley. "

"Remember Bruce… I'm just as real as you!"

Bruce stood up as he looked at his wards with stern eyes, "Rest up we're patrolling tonight, no excuses." He said leaving the room as both teens seem to walk away with just a slightly upset Bruce unaware of what he saw and faced in his dreams.

Naruto lay back down, "More questions than answers…" he looked at the scrap of paper he had left, ancient languages like this weren't useful to him or any mages he knew currently even Kent wasn't well versed in all of them. And this was definitely none of the ones he taught Naruto, he needed to find someone who can help him.

Who can read ancient languages… he soon was helped up to his feet by his friends as they needed him to get treated for the venom he took. He needs to get ready for another training and learning session from his teacher.

"A week!?" Zatanna said with an angry look, "That's not fair I just want to talk to him!" She shouted in her room when her father came back from his meeting with the Justice League. Telling her good news Naruto was ok and she can talk to him in a week at least to see him. "Daddy, that's not fair!" She said with her father nodding at the condition Bruce gave him.

Even now he still struggles on the idea of forcing Naruto home, but couldn't let the benefit of the doubt for the dark Knight to train Naruto. "My sweet girl…" he started sitting next to her and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, "Naruto…" he started trying to find the right words. "He's… still having a tough time settling into Gotham and his work with Bruce Wayne isn't exactly easy."

He breathes out evenly to calm his own anxiety on the subject they're speaking about, "This might for the best, he needs sometimes to adapt. We'll visit him when Bruce is ok with it, alright Zanny?" He said ignoring her childish whining over his pet name for her.

"Yes daddy…" she said as the man left, not before mentioning he will be gone for a few days, five at most to help the league in a steak out but to remind her about school, her magic exercises, and not eating junk food like before.

After promising him she will… she looked down when he left her room to see her fingers crossed as she lied to her father… the first time in her life. She looked at the desk she had for schoolwork and pulled out small notes that had Naruto handwriting, ever since they were kids they nearly shared everything in magic spells. Right before he left he gave her a small hint on the spell he uses to jump to any where in the world.

She had a day to get it done as soon as possible, she wasn't going to wait around. She was going to see her friend, her best friend and fix what happened between them. Even if her dad grounds her for life, which is really a month when she breaks out the puppy eyes to make him lift the punishment. "Naru…" she murmured at the missing warm feeling she felt when he was around her.

Taking a seat she began to speak both normally and backwards to figure out the spell… she wanted to see him again. And hopefully it will be worth it!
