For Random Dude: Yeah, I've never really thought about Sharon, I think I'll stick to Wanda in this fiction, but still thank you for your ideas.
For Guest: Yeah, I was thought about the idea of pairing Barry with Skye, but I've give up the idea, but I think maybe I'll do it in my next story.
Barry walked to the door, carried the groceries, he took out the keys, just about to open door, he heard next door, Steve's house, there's a big bang noise.
"What the hell?" He mumbles, he walked to Steve's door, knocked and asked: "Steve, are you okay?" Suddenly, Kate, the nurse who lives next door to him and Steve rushed out her house, carrying a gun in her hand.
"Kate?" Barry whispered in shock, "What are you doing?" Kate noticed Barry's shock, said: "Mr. Allen, I'm Agent 13 from SHIELD Special Service, I was sent here to protect you and Captain Rogers." Barry asked: "On whose order?" Kate answered: "Director Fury."
Kate and Barry bust through the door, they found in shock that Nick Fury lying on the ground, unconscious, Steve is kneeling next to him. "What's happened?" Barry mumbles. Kate took out an intercom, said: "Foxtrot is down, he's unconscious. I need back up."
"Help is on the way." The voice on the other side of the intercom reply, "Do you have a location on the shooter?" Steve saw there's a man in black outside, said: "Tell them I'm in pursuit, Barry, I need you to stay here." Barry nodded his head, then Steve jumped out of the window.
A few hours later, hospital
Steve and Barry stand outside the window, looking Fury on the operation table. Natasha rushed in, asked: "Is he gonna make it?" Barry said: "I don't know."
"Tell me about the shooter." Natasha said. "Well, he's strong, and fast." Steve said. Just then, Maria Hill, another high officer of SHIELD stopped by their side.
"Ballistic." Natasha simply said. "Well, three slugs, no rifling, completely untraceable." Maria answered. "Soviet made?" Natasha asked. Maria looked at her with shock: "Yeah."
Just then, there's a commotion in the operating room.
"He's dropping." A nurse said. "Nurse, help me with the gauze." The doctor said.
"BP's dropping."
"Defibrillator!"
"Charge to one hundred."
"Pulse?"
"No pulse."
"Charge to two hundred. Stand back! Three, two, one. Clear!"
"Pulse?" The doctor asked. "Negative." The nurse said. The doctor sighed, said: "What time is it." The nurse answered: "1: 03."
"Time of death, 1: 03 a. m."
Though Barry isn't the biggest fan of Nick, he still grieves for Nick; a loyal, brave man has been murdered. No one would feel good about this. He turned around, facing the wall, felt a drop of tear rolled down his cheek.
In the morgue, Natasha still stares at Fury's lifeless body, Barry and Steve are standing far away. Maria walked to their sides, said: "We need to take him." Knowing of what that means, Barry walks to Natasha's side, place an hand on her shoulder, said: "Natasha, it's time." Natasha stroke Fury's head for one last time, then walked out. Barry and Steve followed her.
Natasha suddenly stopped, she turned around, asked: "Why is Fury at your apartment, Steve?" Steve froze for a second, then shrugged his shoulder, said: "I don't know." Natasha smirked a little, said: "You know, you're a terrible liar." Then she walked away.
Just then, Rumlow walked over and said: "Cap, Allen, they want you two at SHIELD and they want you two now." Steve answered: "Okay." Then both of them followed Rumlow. Barry whispered: "Why is Fury at your apartment?" Steve didn't answer, knowing Steve must have a reason, Barry stopped asking. Steve suddenly stopped, said: "I have to do something." Then walked towards the vending machine, a few moments later, he came back, said: "Okay, let's go."
Back at SHIELD, an old man wearing glasses has been waiting for them, he saw Barry and Steve coming over, "Oh, Captain Rogers, Mr. Allen, I'm Alexander Pierce." Steve shake hand with him, said: "It's an honor to meet you, sir." Alexander answered: "Well, the honor is mine, Captain, my father serves at 101st." After shakes hand with Barry, he said: "Well, let's go talk into the office."
Steve and Barry are holding several pictures that contains younger versions of Alexander Pierce and Fury. "That photo was taken five years after Nick and I met." Pierce explained, "When I was at State Department Bogota, ELN rebels took the embassy, and security got me out, but the rebels took hostages. Nick was deputy chief for the SHIELD station there, and he comes to me with a plan. He wants to storm the building through the sewers. I said, 'No, we'll negotiate.', turned out the ELN didn't negotiate, so they put out a kill order, and what did they find? Empty, nothing. Nick had ignored my direct order and carried out an unauthorized military operation on foreign soil. He saved the lives of a dozen political officers, including my daughter."
"So you gave him a promotion." Barry said. "I've never had any cause to regret it." Pierce answered. "Captain, why was Nick in your apartment last night?" Pierce asked. Steve stopped for a second, then said: "I don't know."
"You know your house and Mr. Allen's house was bugged." Pierce asked. "I did, because he told me." Steve said. "Did he tell you he was the one who bugged it?" Pierce asked. Steve froze.
"I need to show you two something." Pierce said, then he picked up an remote, click it, there a window opened on the screen. The window shows Batroc is tied to a chair, while several SHIELD officers are integrating him.
"Is this live?" Barry asked. "Yeah, they picked him up last night, in a not-so-safe house in Algiers." Pierce answered. "Are you saying he's a suspect?" Steve asked, "Assassination isn't Batroc's line."
"No, it's more complicated than that." Pierce answered, "Batroc was hired anonymously to attack the Lemurian Star, and he was contacted by E-mail and paid by wire transfer. Then the money was run through seventeen fictitious accounts, the last one going to a holding company that was registered to a Jacob Veech." Pierce handed Barry and Steve the file.
"Am I suppose to know who that is?" Steve asked, going through the file. "Not likely. Veech died six years ago." Pierce answered, "He's last address was 14-35 Elmhurst Drive. The first time I met Nick, his mother lived at 14-37."
Barry stared at Pierce, said: "Sir, are you implying that Fury hired the pirates? Why would he do that?" Pierce answered: "Well, the prevailing theory was that the hijacking was a cover for the acquisition and sale of classified intelligence. The sale went sour and that led to Nick's death."
"If you really know Nick Fury, you know that can't be true." Barry said. "Then why do you think we're talking?" Pierce replied. He stands up, walked towards the window, said: "You see, Mr. Allen, I took a seat in the council not because I wanted to but because Nick asked me to, because we were both realists. We knew that despite all the diplomacy and the handshaking and the rhetoric, that to build a really better world, sometimes means having to tear the old one down, and that, makes enemies."
Pierce turns around, said: "Those people who called you dirty because you're willing to stuck your hands in the mud and trying to build something good, and the thought of those people could be happy today, makes me really, really angry." He looks at Barry and Steve, who both didn't reply.
"Captain." Pierce said, "You're the last one that Nick met before he dies, I don't think that's a coincidence, so I'm gonna ask you again, why was he there?"
"He told me not to trust anyone." Steve answered. "I wondered if that includes him." Pierce said. "I'm sorry, that was he's last word, now if you excuse us." Steve answered. Then he and Barry walk towards the door. "Captain." Pierce suddenly said, "Someone has murdered my friend, and I'm gonna find out why. Anyone gets in my way, they're gonna regret it.
Anyone." Steve nodded his head, said: "Understood."
"And Mr. Allen." Pierce suddenly said, "Fury has hide something from you, but I thought you need to know, I can't tell you what is it. You have to see it for yourself, this floor, File Room 203, second cabinet to the left, I wish you see it." Barry nodded his head, said: "Thank you, sir." Then he and Steve left the office.
While they're walking to the elevator, Barry asked: "Is it me or is Pierce just threatened you?" Steve said: "His friend just die, it's okay to be a little aggressive." Barry answered: "Sure, maybe." He suddenly stopped, said: "Okay, I got to see those file that Pierce told me, I need to check it out. I'll catch you up in a bit, okay?" Steve nodded his head, then walked into the elevator, while Barry turned back to the File Room.
While Barry is searching through the files, someone got in. Barry turned around, found out it Jason Tyler, another fellow SHIELD agent, he and several other agents got in. "Hey, why are you guys here?" Barry asked. "Oh." Jason answered, "Mr. Pierce sent us to get some files."
"Oh. Okay." Barry said continues searching for the files. But he didn't know that Jason and the other have draw their pistols and aimed them at his back.
Author's Note: First of all, super sorry for the late update, I've been busy like crazy for a few days. So my time on this fiction is very little, but I've manage to update it. And since some people are asking about the time scatter, so I'll explain the reason. During the first, I was think putting Barry into the Age of Ultron, but since that idea have been at least used in a half of dozens of stories, I've give up the idea. Then I thought I could put the Trinity of Arrowverse into the Battle of New York, but someone has beat me to it, so now, I've have the idea, putting them in the same universe, but in different time periods.
