Barry, Steve and Natasha are walking in the mall in disguise. "First rule of going on the run is, walk, don't run." Natasha said.
"If I run in these shoes, they'll fall off in no time." Steve complained. "Sorry, Steve." Barry said, "These days, people care more about fashion than comfortable."
Steve and Natasha are in a computer store while Barry is on the lookout.
"The drive has a level six homing program, so as soon as we boot up SHIELD will know exactly where we are." Natasha said. "How much time do we have?" Steve asked. "About nine minutes." Natasha said, "From…now." She plugs in the drive.
Barry on the outside, he suddenly saw some SHIELD agents are in the mall, along with some familiar faces, Brook Rumlow and Jason Tyler. "Oh, come on." Barry mumbles. He rushed back to the store, whispered: "Are you guys ready or not, several agents are coming towards us."
"Shh, relax, speedy." Natasha replied. She grabs the drive, said: "Let's go." They walked to outside, Barry said: "There's about five or six agents, coming towards us, I don't know if they carried any weapons, I can draw out some of them, you two, get out here quickly."
Barry walked quickly towards the bathroom, deliberately to crate suspicious. Therefore, has drawn Tyler attentions. "I found the target, I'm tailing him." He said in the comm. "Okay, number 4, number 5, get to Tyler's position. Close in on target." Brook ordered, "Remember, you only have one shot on taking him down, so take it."
Barry walked towards the washroom, noticed three agents are following him, one of them is Tyler. He enters the washroom, the agents followed him. Barry has hidden behind the door, knocked out the first agent, took out the second agent, just then. He heard a whisper: "Don't move." He looks up, found out is Tyler.
"Hello, Allen, didn't expect to see me again, right?" Tyler said in smirk. "No, I kind of figure it out you would be here." Barry replied. He grabs Tyler wrist, take the gun from his hand, Tyler punched towards him, they exchanged several blows. At last, Barry manage to knocked Tyler to the ground, knocked him out. Barry then exited the mall.
Barry, Natasha and Steve manage to stole a car from someone, and on their journey towards the location where the file on the drive was emitted.
In the car, Natasha asked: "Where did you learn how to steal a car?" Steve answered: "Nazi Germany. And we're borrowing it, so keep your feet of the dash." Natasha give Steve an eye roll, put her feet down.
A few moments later, Natasha said: "Okay, I have a question for you, which you didn't need to answer, though if you didn't answer it kind of feel you're answering it…"
"What is the question." Steve cut her. "Is that your first kiss since 1945?" Natasha asked in smirk. "Kiss, what kiss?" Barry asked in curious. "In the mall, Cap kissed me." Natasha replied.
"We're using it to get away from SHIELD agents." Steve defended himself. "Oh, yes. I'm sure you're." Barry said in laugh. "Okay." Natasha said, "Back to the question, was it…"
"That's was not my first kiss since 1945." Steve replied, "I'm 95, not dead." Natasha asked: "Nobody special?" Steve laughed and said: "Believe it or not, it is difficult to find someone shared my life experience."
"That's alright, you make something up." Natasha. "Like you?" Steve replied. "I don't know, truth is a matter of circumstance, it's not all thing to all people all the time." Natasha said. "I agree with Natasha, Steve." Barry said, "I've made that kind of mistakes before."
"It's a tough way to live." Steve answered. "Well," Natasha said, "It's a good way not to die." Steve said: "It's hard to trust someone when you don't know someone really is."
"Yeah, what do you want me to be?" Natasha looked at him and asked. "I don't know." Steve said, "A friend?" Natasha smiled a little, said: "Sometimes I feel you're in the wrong business, Rogers."
They stopped before a barbed wire, the three of them get off the car. "The file came from these coordinates." Natasha said. "Yeah, so did I." Steve said. There's a sign on the wire that says "Camp Lehigh"
They're scouting through the campus, Steve looked at the training site. Remembering he's life before he became Captain America.
"This is a dead end." Natasha announced, "No heat signatures, no waves, not even radio. Whoever wrote the files must use a router to throw people off."
Steve suddenly walked towards an ammunition storage, Natasha and Barry followed him. "What is it?" Barry asked. "Army regulations forbids storing ammunition within five hundred yards from the barracks. This is a fake building." He walked towards the door, used the shield to slam on the lock, broke it.
They walked down the stairs, Steve opened the light. They saw a big SHIELD symbol on the wall. "This is SHIELD." Barry realized. "Maybe this is where it started." Steve said.
They go into another room, there's three pictures on the wall, Steve recognize them as General Philips, Howard Stark, and Peggy Carter. "Who's the girl?" Natasha asked. Steve didn't reply, simply walk away.
Steve, Barry and Natasha walked through a corridor, Steve suddenly stops, said: "If you're working in a secret facility already, then why do you need to hide the elevator?" He moves a shelf that shows a path to an elevator.
They go into the elevator, entered the password. The elevator begins to go down, a few moments later, it stopped. The door opens, they walked out, find out in surprise that they're surrounded by computers and mainframes that has been at least 40 years old.
Natasha found an USB connector, she walks forward, and plugs in the drive. Then they heard noises comes from the mainframes surrounded them. Then the computer screen before them shows "Initiating System, Yes/No."
Natasha entered yes. A few moments later, a green figure appeared on the screen, a robotic voice said: "Steven Rogers, born in 1918, Natalia Alianovna Romanoff, born in 1988. Bartholomew Henry Allen, born in 1990."
"This is some kind of recording, right?" Natasha said in uncertain. "I am not a recording, Fraulein." The voice replied, "I may not be the man I was when the Captain took me prisoner in 1945, but I am…" A picture appeared on the screen.
"You know this thing?" Barry asked. "Arnim Zola was a German scientist who worked for the Red Skull." Steve answered, "He's dead for years."
"First correction, I am Swiss." Zola replied, "And secondly, look around you, Captain, I had never been more alive."
"In 1972, I've received a terminal diagnosis." Zola continued, "Science could not save my body, but my mind however, that with worth saving, on two hundred thousand feet of data bank. You are standing in my brain."
"Why are you here?" Steve asked. "Invited." Zola answered. "Operation Paperclip after World War II." Natasha said, "SHIELD recruited German scientist with strategic values." Barry frowned when he heard that, this reminds him of Task Force-X made by Amanda Waller that Oliver had told him about.
"They thought I could help them achieve their cause, I've also achieve my own." Zola said. "HYDRA dies with Red Skull." Steve said. "Cut off one head, two more will grow into its place." Zola answered. "Prove it." Steve said.
"Accessing archive."
"HYDRA was founded on the belief that human cannot be trusted with its own freedom." Zola said, "What we did not realize is, if you try to take that away from them, they will fight. The war has taught us much; humanity need to surrender its own freedom willingly."
"After the war, SSR was modified into SHIELD, and I was recruited." Zola continued, "The new HYDRA grew, a beautiful parasite inside of SHIELD. For seventy years, HYDRA has been secretly feeding crisis, causing war. And when history does not cooperate, history was changed."
"That's impossible." Natasha said, "SHIELD would have stopped you." Zola answered: "Accidents will have happened."
"HYDRA has created a world that is so chaotic that humanity is finally willing to sacrifice its freedom to gain its security. One the Purification Process is complete; HYDRA's new world order will rise. We won, Captain. Your death amounts the same as your life, meaningless."
Steve slam his fist to the screen in anger, and broke the screen. But it didn't stop Zola, "As I was saying." Zola continues. "What's on this drive?" Steve simply asked. "Project Insight requires insight, so I wrote an algorithm."
"What kind of algorithm, what does it do." Barry asked. "The answer to your question is fascinating, Mr. Allen." Zola said, "Unfortunately, you shall be too dead to hear it."
The door begins to close, Steve throw the shield towards it, trying to stop it, but failed. Natasha looked at her phone in panic, said: "Steve, we got a missile coming, short ballistics. 30 seconds tops."
"Who fired it?" Barry asked. "SHIELD." Natasha replied. "I'm afraid I've been stalling, Captain." Zola said, "Admit it, it's better this way. Both of us are out of time."
Natasha grabs the drive, Steve find a small hiding place on the ground, Barry and Natasha jumped in. Then Steve, then he blocked the hole using his shield to avoid the blast.
Several seconds later, a giant blast happen on top of them. Natasha has faint, Steve holds her, climbs up. Then Barry. "Are you okay?" Steve asked. "Yeah." Barry replied. They saw three Quin-jets is coming towards them. Barry said: "Let's go." Sped away, along with Steve and Natasha.
Author's Note: Well, this is it. I get it, it's short. But I have so little time on this, so this is the best I can do for now. And hey, guys, I'm gonna publish a new story called Girl of Steel and God of Thunder, it's another story to the "Two Worlds" series, it tells Kara's journey in Asgrad during Thor 2. It will not be a long story, because it's near Age of Ultron, and I want Kara to join, so the meaning of the story is layout the back ground before that happens, okay? Anyway, hope you guys like it, don't forget to R&R, bye.
