"That's a lot of demons.",Devon said, beginning to back away from the squad of demons in front of him that were led by Envy. Rose gulped then she said,"Yeah, but I've killed em all before. Killing them again won't be too hard." as her belt appeared around her waist. Devon's eyes widened then they changed to being light blue and he said,"Henshin." while pressing down on the top jewel of his brace.
"Henshin.",Rose said as she enveloped in blood red flames. Drow and Crusiad stand together before charging at Envy and his demons. Crusiad kicked the lizard demon in the chest then he blocked a punch from the hyena demon before tossing it into the sloth demon. He then back flipped to avoid being slashed by the lizard demons claws then he spin kicked it in the face. Crusiad was then tackled by the hyena demon and taken backwards, with the sloth and lizard demons following.
Drow summoned her scythe and swung it at Envy, who dodged it. Envy thrust his halberd at Drow several times, all of them being dodged or blocked by Drow. Drow swung her scythe and Envy blocked it with his halberd before using his tail to whip Drow in the chest. Drow stumbled back then she narrowly blocked a downward slash from Envy. She pushed the deadly sin back then brandished her scythe while saying,"Thanks for coming to me Jacoby. Thought I'd have to chase you in order to finally kill you."
"I'm not gonna die today Rose. You will.",Envy sneered as he readied his halberd.
"Like hell I will.",Drow charged at Envy. She swung her scythe at Envy and he blocked it, stumbling back from the impact of the hit. Envy blocked three more slashes from Drow then he jumped over one and kicked Drow in the face. Drow stumbled back then she was hit in the chest by a ball of lime green energy and fire. She grunted in pain then she jumped to the side to avoid being stabbed by Envy's halberd before she roundhouse kicked the deadly sin in the chin. Envy stumbled to the side then readied his halberd before charging at Drow.
Inside the conference room from the first two chapters, Cleo and the others were looking at a projection of Drow and Crusiad fighting against Envy and his demons. Adonis, Voria, and Rufus watched the fight not showing much emotion besides intrigue. Cleo showed hints of anger, her eyes focused more on Envy than on Drow. Hezekiah and Balrog had impressed smirks, Balrog's showing a devious intent as she focused solely on Drow.
"Who's the lad fighting those three demons?",Adonis questioned as he noticed crusade effortlessly fighting all three of Envy's demons.
"His name is Crusiad. He's an angel that possessed Rose's friend.",Balrog explained, her eyes never going away from Drow's fight with Envy. Adonis nodded in response before looking towards Voria as she ate a pizza and said,"Weird looking angel."
"Eh, not too weird. Remember, they take on certain appearances for humans."
"All of you quiet down.",Cleo commanded, briefly looking back at Adonis and Voria. Adonis put his hands up while Voria just focused on eating. She then looked at Rufus to see that he had fallen asleep. The five remaining adults watched the battle.
Back in the fight, Crusiad kicked the lizard demon in the chin then he punched the sloth demon five times before he snapped its neck, killing it. He then summoned his knife and used it to first block a kick from the hyena demon then stab the creature in the knee, causing it to roar in pain. Crusiad then swiftly decapitated then hyena demon and kicked its head towards the lizard demon, causing the lizard demon to stumble. He then had blue and white flames engulf his right boot before he said,"Divine crusade: Sabbath kick."
Crusiad then jumped up and flying roundhouse kicked the lizard demon in the face, causing it to explode. Crusiad landed then he began breathing heavily before he said,"It seems this young man still hasn't adjusted to my usage of it for more than a few minutes. I'll need to figure out a way to make him stronger."
Crusiad then reverted into Devon, who stumbled a bit while dizzily saying,"What happened?"
He shook his head then squinted until his vision focused and he saw Envy and Drow fighting one another. Devon continued to breath heavily then he said,"Beat him down Rose. I'm gonna take a sec to rest." before passing out on his back.
Meanwhile, Drow and Envy were still fighting with Envy having a slight advantage over Drow. Envy slashed at Drow five times, with all of them being blocked, then he managed to slash Drow across her side then slash her three more times. He then sent Drow back with a blast of lime green energy. She tumbled backwards and grunted as she picked herself up off the ground, along with her scythe. Envy chuckled with confidence then said,"Is that you've got Rose?"
"You know I don't go down easily, Jacoby. Even if I've been sacrificed to Hell.",Drow retorted before charging at Envy while shouting in anger. She slashed at Envy but he blocked it but Drow pushed him back as she pushed against her scythe. Envy came to a stop and gained a worried expression before he managed to push against Drow. The two continued to struggle against one another then Drow said,"Why Jacoby? Why did you betray me?! Why did all you betray me?!"
"It was nothing personal, Rose. We just needed a sacrifice and you were the most convenient.",Envy said as he strained against Drow. Drow became enraged by this and she let out a rage filled yell as she put her crystal into the slot on her scythe, causing it to say,"PENANCE BREAK!"
Surging blood red energy and flames engulfed Drow's scythe blade and she pushed Envy back before slashing him down the middle then across the chest. Envy tried to block the first slash with his halberd but Drow cut it in half with her attack. Envy stumbled back then fell to his back as he exploded into a lime green ball of flames.
At the office building, all six of the group gasped at the sight and gained looks of complete shock from what they saw.
Back with Drow, Drow had her scythe change back into a scarf and she put it on before reverting into Rose. Rose scowled angrily at Jacoby, who was currently lying down in a small crater with his clothes tattered and a beaten appearance. She gritted her teeth then she said,"You still breathing?"
Jacoby slowly sat up on his elbows then said with pain prevalent in his voice,"Please Rose, I'm sorry. I was just jealous of how you were a rookie yet were so much better than me."
Rose swiftly kicked Jacoby across the face then got on top of him and she punched him in the face before strangling Jacoby with her bare hands. Devon awoke, saw Rose beating Jacoby and he went over to her and said,"Rose! Rose, he's down."
"But he's not dead!",Rose shouted, not letting up on her punches. Once Devon was close to Rose, he tried to pry her off of Jacoby but was shoved off by the rage filled girl. Jacoby gargled as he tried to pry Rose's hands off of his neck to no avail. Rose gritted her teeth and tightened her grip on Jacoby's neck, reveling in how he slowly began to stop fighting against her.
Suddenly, Rose was flung back towards Devon, who caught her but fell down. Rose quickly sat up to find Jacoby had disappeared from where he laid, leaving behind his broken halberd. Rose stood up and frantically looked around before she stopped and let out a rage filled scream into the air. Devon stood up and walked up to Rose, who turned to him and said,"Why?! Why'd you try to stop me?!"
"I don't know. I just saw that you defeated Jacoby and thought killing him was unnecessary.",Devon explained.
"Killing him is necessary. Killing everyone of them is necessary! They deserve it!",Rose shouted in anger, tears beginning to well up in her eyes. Devon saw this and he got close to Rose and put his hand on her shoulder. Rose put her head on Devon's torso and began crying into it as Devon hugged her and reassuringly rubbed her back.
In Jacoby's apartment, Jacoby appeared on his couch and he looked around before saying,"How'd I get here?"
"That would be my doing.",a gruff yet somewhat booming voice said inside Jacoby's mind. Jacoby nodded then he stood up while asking,"Mind telling me who you are?"
"You'll come to learn that in due time. For now, just know that I am your savior.",the voice said.
"Actually about that, why did you save me? I mean, I'm not that special besides being the sin of Envy and compared to the others; I'm the weakest.",Jacoby questioned.
"Oh Jacoby, I saved you because I see a great warrior in you. One, who can become far more than he is now. All that is needed is some training and power. You want power, don't you?",the voice said. Jacoby nodded, gaining an enticed expression, while saying,"Yeah. Yeah, I want power. I want a lot of things."
"And you shall get them in time but for now, you must survive. Do you understand boy?",The voice said.
"Yeah I understand. I have to survive and I will survive.",Jacoby said in a determined tone.
"Good, I will tell you the first step to getting what you desire soon. Farewell.",The voice said. Jacoby nodded then he said,"Wait, do you have a name I can call you?"
"Yes. You may call me Samael.",the voice known as Samael said. Jacoby nodded with a smile then he went to change clothes and take a shower.
Back with Rose and Devon, the duo were now sitting on the bus together in the back. Devon looked over at Rose, seeing how saddened she was, then asked,"So, did Jacoby reveal anything to you about why you were sacrificed?"
"Yeah, they did it because I was convenient. Jacoby himself was jealous of me, which is why he went along with it.",Rose said in a downtrodden day tone. Devon nodded then he said,"You going to be okay?"
Rose simply shrugged, not even looking at Devon. Devon sighed while sitting back in his seat. He glanced at Rose then said,"You know, even though I don't agree with you just getting revenge on these guys; I still have your back."
"Oh really? Why's that?",Rose questioned in a rude manner.
"Because I started you on this journey, accidentally, so I will see it to the end. Plus, I always help my friends when they need me.",Devon said with a reassuring smile. Rose smirked then nodded before she and Devon sat in a comfortable silence for the rest of the trip.
