Devon entered his home and put his bag down while saying,"Rose, I'm home."

He then jumped when Rose ran up to him excitedly saying,"Devon something amazing just happened!"

"Well you seem chipper, which worries me.",Devon said with a surprised expression.

"Oh who cares about that. I just did something that was so awesome in the backyard!",Rose said with a smile. Devon nodded, then he raised an eyebrow before saying,"What did you do in the backyard?"

Moments later, Devon and Rose were in his backyard with Devon yelling in both surprise and anger at the sight of the destroyed patio railing. Devon looked at Rose, who looked away from him while moving back and forth on the balls of her feet, then at the railing.

"Why? How? The? Wood chips in… HOW THE HELL DID YOU DESTROY THE RAILING OF MY PATIO?!"

"I may have kicked it when I got angry.",Rose continued looking away from Devon. Devon motioned to the destroyed railing and the debris in the yard while shouting,"You kicked it so hard it shattered?!"

"Would it help if I said I apologize?",Rose said while giving an apprehensive smile.

"WHAT DO YOU THINK?!",Devon shouted. Rose rubbed her ears as Devon breathed heavily and angrily, looking at the destruction in his backyard. Devon then looked at Rose with anger,"You're cleaning this up."

"What? I don't clean.",Rose replied.

"Now you do! Unless you want no help with finding your former friends and you want me to forget that I'm supposed to be a friend to you."

Rose twiddled her fingers then she sheepishly asked,"Can I just say I'm sorry and we go get that cold snack that has many flavors?"

"No, you don't get ice cream until you clean up your mess. Oh goodness I sound like my parents."

"Your parents sound very mean."

"Clean, now!",Devon pointed at the mess. Rose frowned then began cleaning up the wood chips from the backyard. Devon then heard a knock at his door and he sighed before going back into the house towards the door. He opened the door and saw a Caucasian teenage girl with platinum blonde hair wearing a camouflage hoodie with matching camouflage sweatpants and white and black running shoes.

"Holly?",Devon asked with confusion.

"Hi to you too Dev.",the teenage girl, now known as Holly, said while entering Devon's home. Devon closed the door to his home then he walked in front of Holly saying,"Holly, why are you here? How are you here? I thought you had school right now?"

"Today's a staff development day bro and I'm here because Mom and Dad wanted me to check on you.",Holly said casually while looking at Devon.

"They did.",Devon had an unenthusiastic expression on his face.

"Yep."

"So they basically wanted you to see if I needed anything because they're worried and miss me being in the house?"

"Eyup.",Holly nodded.

Devon sighed then said,"Tell them that I'm doing fine and they have nothing to worry about."

"I will but I also want to know something about you.",Holly said.

"What is it?"

"Do you have a girlfriend?"

Devon raised an eyebrow,"Why do you want to know that?"

"Because not too long ago, you asked me for advice on what clothes to get a girl. I assume it's because either you have a girlfriend or you've become a crossdresser.",Holly admitted.

"Why would you think I'm a crossdresser?!"

"Because guys don't usually ask for women's clothing, plus part of me always thought you'd look really silly in a dress.",Holly smiled while playfully poking at Devon. Devon glared at Holly then said,"Holly, I'm not a crossdresser and I don't have a girlfriend."

"I don't believe the girlfriend thing."

"Why not?!"

"Because you've hidden girlfriends from our parents before and I want you to be happy after she who shall not be named."

Devon's expression saddened briefly but then it perked up slightly before he said,"Okay I get what you mean, but I don't have a girlfriend."

It was then that Rose entered the house, hopping on one leg while saying,"Devon, I'm done cleaning. I also may have stepped on a piece of wood and need you to get a splinter out of my foot."

Rose noticed Holly then looked at Devon,"Who's the girl?"

"My sister, Holly. Sit on the couch while I get tweezers.",Devon said to Rose before leaving the room. Rose sat down then she looked at Holly as Holly said,"Hi, who are you?"

"I'm Rose.",Rose said with a quick wave.

Devon came back and knelt down in front of Rose before beginning to remove several splinters from the bottom of her foot. Rose winced every time Devon took out one of the splinters and unbeknownst to Devon, Rose had a small smile on her face towards the end.

"You know, I wouldn't have to do stuff like this if you wore shoes.",Devon said.

"For the last time, I hate shoes and will never wear them unless I'm transformed.",Rose replied before yelping as Devon took out the last splinter. Devon chuckled but was kicked in the head by Rose, who smirked.

Devon rubbed his head and scoffed while having a small smirk on his face. He then stood up,"Didn't you wear shoes 3,000 years ago?"

"Uh… no. I walked around barefoot and unlike in this time period, no one cared."

Holly looked at the two then she cleared her throat, causing Rose and Devon to look at her and say,"What?"

"I thought you said you didn't have a girlfriend?",Holly questioned while crossing her arms.

"I don't.",Devon replied. He then glanced at Rose and in a panicked manner said,"Oh you think, Rose and I are. No. Rose is just my friend and roommate. There's nothing going on between us."

Rose raised an eyebrow at this but kept silent.

"Yeah sure. It's okay if you don't want to tell me about your relationship brother, I understand completely. Just know that I'll be back to check on you two and to warn you if Mom and Dad decide to pop in.",Holly said in a sly and mischievous tone as she went to the door and exited.

"Holly, I'm serious nothing's going on between Rose and I.",Devon said in an insistent tone as Holly closed the door behind her. Devon put his hands over his face and flopped onto the couch beside Rose and groaned frustratedly,"Little sisters can be so annoying."

Rose looked at the door, hearing Holly drive away, then at Devon before asking,"So why was your sister here?"

"She was checking up on me for my kinda overbearing and overprotective parents."

Rose nodded then said,"Oh, okay. Well let's get going." as she stood up, wincing slightly. Devon raised an eyebrow,"Going where?"

"To look for Jacoby."Rose said while putting on sandals. Devon sighed then he stood up to leave with Rose.

Out in the city, Voria and Rufus were walking around a rather crowded street fair with Voria eating popcorn and Rufus sitting in a motorized scooter. Voria ate her popcorn then Rufus asked,"why did we come here, Voria?"

"I'm supposed to be making a demon, but this popcorn is so good.",Voria said with a mouth full of popcorn. Rufus nodded then he said,"Well can you make one fast, being out this much is draining."

"Everything's draining to you."

At the entrance of the fair, Devon and Rose entered and Rose said,"Wow, I didn't know your time period had fairs."

"Not surprised by that, but yeah we do.",Devon commented. "Mind telling me why we're at this fair?"

"I am sensing a demon or two nearby. The same feeling I got when near Jacoby."

Devon thought about it then shrugged in agreement. He then looked at Rose and asked,"So Rose, mind telling why you're doing this?"

"Doing what?",Rose replied.

"Fighting demons."

"I already told you, I'm fighting demons to get to my old team."

"I know that, but what I mean is that. Why do you want to get to your old team?"

Rose stopped walking with Devon stopping behind her then she turned to Devon and crossed her arms while saying,"Why're you asking me this now?"

"I'm asking because the angel that's possessing me brought up the point that while you may be fighting demons and the sins, it's not necessarily for the right reason.",Devon replied.

"What? I am fighting for the right reason."

"Are you though? I mean, I completely understand that you're pissed at your old friends for banishing you to Hell but I can't help but think that revenge isn't a good enough reason for doing this."

"Why not? It motivates me to keep going and not think about how I'm stuck in a time period I know little to nothing about."

"Maybe but what about afterwards? What will motivate you after you've gotten your revenge and to that end, even if you never were banished, would you still fight the sins?"

Rose looked at Devon with anger and some contemplation. Devon sighed then he looked up and saw Voria and Rufus, with Rose turning around to look at them as well.

"There's Voria and Rufus.",Rose said while moving towards the two. Devon followed Rose and once the two were close to Voria and Rufus, Rose angrily said,"Voria! Rufus!"

Voria and Rufus looked at Rose and Devon, becoming frightened. Voria stood up and nervously said,"Rose, long time no see."

"Yeah, last time we saw each other, you all sacrificed me!",Rose said while summoning her scythe. Voria's eyes widened while Rufus said,"That was not our fault. You made yourself too easy for us to sacrifice."

Rose gritted her teeth and raised her scythe. Devon stopped Rose then he looked at Voria while saying,"Rose, wait. We can ask them questions on what they may be planning."

"Questions? But it's so much work to answer those.",Rufus complained.

"Not much work for you two cut in two you fat piece of shit!",Rose angrily exclaimed while still trying to kill Voria and Rufus. Voria jumped back and she readied herself. Rufus moved his scooter away from Rose to be next to Voria. Rose smirked while readying her scythe.

Jacoby, who was hiding behind a churro stand, watched Devon and Rose interact with Voria and Rufus. He sighed then said,"Hey, Samael. I followed Voria and Rufus and now I don't know what to do."

"Patience, Jacoby, you are only to observe what your fellow sins do in times of crisis.",Samael said in Jacoby's mind. Jacoby nodded and continued what he was doing, grabbing a churro as he did so.

Rose readied her scythe while saying,"Go ahead and show me your demon forms. Wouldn't be fun to fight you without seeing them."

"Well we would but then we'd be found out so instead,",Voria said before grabbing a random employee and shoving a pink candy into their mouth. The employee swallowed the candy and gagged before their eyes glowed pink and they charged at Rose. Rose blocked an incoming punch from the employee that sent her backwards into a lamp post. Devon ran over to Rose and helped her up before both looked at the employee to see them having a glowing pink aura come off of them while their eyes glowed the same color. Devon and Rose gained surprised expressions then in unison said,"Ah crap."
