Currently, Rose was tossing and turning in her sleep, sweat dripping from her. She tossed and turned then she awoke in a fright and sat up. Rose breathed panicked while frantically looking around her room. She slowly calmed down then she raked her hands through her hair before getting out of bed and walking to her door.

Devon was currently exiting the bathroom after washing his hands and finishing up his nightly routine. He saw Rose and said,"Hey Rose, thought you went to sleep?"

"Huh, oh I tried but I couldn't really. So I'm just going to the backyard and train for a bit to tire myself out.",Rose said while turning to Devon.

"You're going outside, in the middle of the night, in your underwear?"

Rose looked at her sleep attire, which consisted of a gray tank top and underwear of the same color, then she looked at Devon and said,"It's the night, no one should see me."

Devon looked at Rose then said,"You had a nightmare didn't you?"

Rose looked away from Devon but she hesitantly nodded yes to his question. Devon's expression softened, then he took Rose by her wrist and said,"Come on."

The duo went to Devon's room and sat on his bed side by side. Devon looked at Rose, who kept her eyes on her toes and the floor, then he said,"Rose, I'm fine with you sleeping in here with me."

"It still feels wrong, like I'm using you and am weak for needing to do this.",Rose said in a saddened and embarrassed tone.

"You're not weak for needing to be comforted. If anything, you're stronger than most people I know, myself included."

Rose hesitantly looked at Devon then she simply hugged him before getting up further on the bed and laying under the covers. Devon sighed then he got up further on the bed and laid under the covers as well. Devon laid on his side away from Rose and said,"Goodnight." before closing his eyes.

Rose laid with her back to Devon and she said,"Goodnight." before closing her eyes as well. She briefly opened her eyes and looked over her shoulder at Devon before closing them and trying to go back to sleep.

In Hell, Rose opened her eyes and she stood in front of Barbatos and she was startled by him. Barabtos chuckled, then he said,"Hello again, Rose."

"Barbatos, why am I here again?",Rose asked while crossing her arms.

"Just as last time, I am here to reward you for your victory against both the sins of Gluttony and Sloth."

Barbatos had an orb of pale gold energy that had bolts of electricity crackling from it. Rose hesitantly took the orb and she reeled back, calling out in slight pain before falling to her knees and breathing heavily. She stood up while asking,"What was that?"

"The raw power of lightning. With this you'll be able to use swift yet powerful strikes that can also stun certain opponents. You'll also be able to move faster and react faster.",Barbatos explained.

Rose nodded in a somewhat pained manner then she gained a contemplative look before she asked,"Why choose me as Drow? I'm sure that there are several other people in Hell that want revenge on people. Why me?"

Barbatos stayed silent for a moment then he said in a wise tone,"In time, you will come to know."

Rose awoke suddenly and she looked around before sitting up and sighing. She then looked next to her to see Devon was still asleep even as the sun crept in through his window. Rose smiled warmly then she got out of bed and walked out of the room.

After she took a shower and freshened up, Rose walked through the living room and towards the kitchen. She now wore a black tank top which stopped above her midriff and black sweatpants. Rose walked into the kitchen and she opened the cabinet and pulled out a box. She began trying to read it but found that she couldn't do so. Rose squinted then she looked up when she heard Devon say,"That's pancake mix."

Devon walked up to Rose as she said in a slightly embarrassed tone,"I knew that, says it right here."

"That it does but you were squinting when looking at it."

Rose blushed while Devon took the box from her and put it on the counter. Rose the looked at Devon as he asked,"It's okay if you can't read you know."

Rose looked down, still blushing,"I also can't write. It wasn't required 3,000 years ago."

"Well it is required nowadays so, go sit at the table so we can begin.",Devon said. Rose looked at Devon with confusion then Devon looked at her and said with a playful smirk,"You heard me, sit."

Rose did as she was told, still blushing intensely and peeking glances at Devon who was currently shirtless with pajama pants on.

Minutes later, Rose and Devon were at the table together with Devon teaching Rose how to read and write. Rose was sounding out words as she saw them in a book then she'd try and write some. She got frustrated at one point and slumped in her chair but Devon made her sit up and he explained something to her.

Eventually, Rose and Devon were on the couch and Rose was reading a passage from a book out loud slowly. Once she finished, she looked at Devon who smiled happily at her. Rose smiled then she hugged Devon and he hugged her back with both falling to the floor. Rose and Devon laughed happily then they looked into each other's eyes and stayed silent for many moments. Devon smirked while Rose smiled nervously then Devon moved some hair from Rose's face.

The two heard a knock at the door and they looked at it before getting up. Devon went to the door and Rose bit her lip happily while putting a hand on her elbow. Devon unlocked the door and it flung open to show Holly there, with Holly pushing past Devon to enter the house.

"Hi to you too sis.",Devon said while closing the door.

"Yeah hi bro. Rose, what are you doing?",Holly said while walking up to Rose.

"I am learning to read and write, Devon was teaching me,"Rose answered.

"Okay, that can wait. Right now we have work to do."Holly interrupted while taking out a brannock device. (Author's note: For those who don't know, a Brannock device is the thing used to measure shoe size.)

"What work?",Devon and Rose questioned.

"The work of giving Rose here a makeover. Look at her, she is in need of some beauty tips especially in her hair.",Holly responded somewhat dismissively. Rose looked slightly offended by what Holly said, even putting her hands in her hair and frowning slightly.

"Holly, Rose doesn't need a makeover. She looks great like she is.",Devon chimed in, even gesturing to Rose. Rose heard this and her enamored smile came back while she tried to hide it. Holly stood up and turned to her brother,"Don't get jealous big bro, I'm going to give you a makeover too."

"Wait what?"

"Yes, you both will be my masterpiece!",Holly said with much enthusiasm, causing Rose and Devon to lean back slightly while widening their eyes. Holly then placed her brannock device down and grabbed Rose by the wrist, taking her to the restroom and saying,"Brother, I need a chair!"

Rose looked at Devon and mouthed,"Help me." with an apprehensive look. Devon grabbed one of his chairs from the kitchen and carried it to the bathroom.

At his apartment, Jacoby sat in his living room staring at the crystal he was given. He grazed his hands over it and it briefly glowed. Jacoby smirked then he heard Samael say,"I see that you've gained the power of Gluttony and Sloth."

"Huh, yeah I did. Honestly, I didn't think Voria would fall for the bait but I was wrong."

"Heh heh, that's good."

"What is?"

"The growing hunger for power that I sense in you. You will need it in order to get the rest of the sins along with some practice of your new arsenal."

Jacoby nodded, then he stood up and said,"So is this as simple as Rose made it look."

"It is. All you must do is put the crystal to your waist and say henshin.",Samael said with a wicked joy. Jacoby smirked then he lifted the crystal in his hand before putting it to his waist.

Back at Devon's home, Holly stood in the living room by herself then she said,"First Devon, come out."

Devon came out of his room with his hair done in an unkempt style. He currently wore a red v-neck shirt under a black jacket, black slim fit jeans and black and red high top sneakers.

Holly admired her work as Devon walked up to her saying,"You know I could've picked this out myself."

"I doubt that. Now Rose, come on out.",Holly said with more enthusiasm. Rose came out of her room and her hair was now wavy yet was still wild somewhat in appearance. She also now wore a red crop top hoodie over a white sports bra, black jeans that had flared cuffs and black shoes.

Devon blinked while staring at Rose while Holly smiled widely and clapped excitedly. Rose walked up to the siblings and she tried not to look at Devon while sheepishly saying,"Why are you both staring at me?"

"'Cause you look great.",Holly and Devon said. Rose blushed and tried to hide her smile from Devon by putting her hood over her head. Holly began fanning her eyes while saying,"I've done such good work here. I may cry."

Devon looked at his sister and gained an amused smirk while saying,"You're weird, ya know that."

"Yes, but I'm still your sister. Anyway, you two get going to the movie theater.",Holly said while beginning to push Rose and Devon out the door.

"Movie theater? Holly, what are you?",Devon said while he and Rose were pushed out of his house. Holly tossed Devon the keys to her car then said,"Don't worry, I'll watch your house for you. Now both of you get!"

Holly then slammed the door in Devon and Rose's faces. Devon and Rose had confused expressions then Devon sighed before saying,"Well, since she gave us the opportunity. Might as well use it."

Rose raised an eyebrow then asked,"What's a movie theater?"

"I'll explain on the way, first we have to make a stop by the store.",Devon said as he and Rose walked to and entered Holly's car. Rose sat in the passenger seat and she asked,"What do we need from the store?"

"For snacks, only things I pay for at movie theaters are tickets, popcorn and a drink."Devon replied while starting up the car. The two then began driving away from Devon's home, with Rose quickly taking off her shoes and socks and throwing them into the backseat. She let out a sigh of relief and stretched her legs while saying,"Much better."

Devon chuckled at this but kept his eyes on the road,"I'll also get you some sandals."

"Can they be the ones that I believe you've called flip flops?",Rose asked. Devon nodded and Rose celebrated silently.

After a trip to the store and seeing a movie, Rose and Devon walked out of the movie theater with Rose smiling widely and saying,"I never knew that movies were so amazing and funny."

"Yeah, movies can be any genre like comedy, drama, action et cetera.",Devon said with a smile. Rose lit up, then she threw her arms into the air and shouted with excitement,"This time period is so awesome!"

Devon chuckled then he and Rose began walking back to Holly's car while talking and sticking by one another. The two walked up to Holly's car then a masked man came up to Rose and pointed a gun at her while saying,"Give me your money." in a shaky tone. Devon immediately put his guard up while saying,"Whoa, whoa man. Calm down."

"You too. Give me all your money and your phones!",The masked man exclaimed fearfully. Rose just looked at the man before she grabbed and broke his wrist, causing him to drop his gun. The masked man called out in pain then he was punched across the face by Devon, knocking him out cold. The masked man fell to the ground and Devon gained a disappointed expression while Rose looked down at the gun curiously.

"What is this thing? Is it a weapon?",Rose asked.

"Yes it is. It fires something called bullets and if those hit you in a vital organ, you'd die or be seriously injured.",Devon explained. Rose nodded, then she looked at Devon,"Nice punch by the way and thanks for saving me."

"I think you saved me first.",Devon said.

"No, you saved me. I may have broken his wrist but you knocked him out which saved me from his eventual counter attack."

Devon thought about it then nodded while saying,"It's strange how smart you are when it comes to fighting."

"Well I was trained to be a warrior from when I was a child.",Rose replied. Devon nodded then he and Rose got into Holly's car and drove away from the theater.

The two pulled into the driveway of Devon's home and Devon and Rose got out of the car while saying,"And we're back home. Let's hope Holly hasn't destroyed the place while we were gone."

"Yeah but before we go inside, can we talk?",Rose asked nervously. Devon nodded in response while leaning on the hood of Holly's carRose gulped nervously then she said,"Well firstly, I have had a great time with you today. Not just the movie theater part but also you teaching me to read and write."

"Which we're not done with by the way.",Devon chimed in.

"Okay. Secondly, there's been something I've wanted to tell you for some time now. It's about how you tend to make me feel like everything is going to be okay and happy and cared for. Plus I worry about you, like more than I did when we first met, and I sometimes have dreams where you're hurt and they hurt me to dream so,"Rose rambled. Devon leaned in and kissed Rose softly, with Rose being surprised for a moment but quickly kissed Devon back. The two kissed for several moments then they pulled away from one another.

Rose bit her lip while Devon grinned before saying,"I feel the same way Rose."

Rose smiled, then she asked,"Did you know?"

"Not until the other night when we were cooking together."

"Why not tell me?"

"Because I didn't want to scare you plus I was scared of you not liking me back."

Rose chuckled then she said,"That's the same reason why I didn't tell you."

Devon and Rose began laughing then they stopped and looked into each other's eyes. The two then kissed lovingly with Rose putting her hands in Devon's hair and Devon putting a hand on her waist. The two kissed for a minute until they heard Holly whistle, causing them to look at her. Holly was standing in the frame of Devon's door with a smirk and she walked up to the two, taking her keys and saying,"You're welcome."

"Was this your plan all along?",Devon asked.

"Of course it was. I saw right through you both and had to make it happen. Bye now love birds.",Holly said while entering and starting her car.

"Holly!"

"Hey, don't worry about her. She meant well.",Rose said.

"Yeah, but I don't necessarily like having my little sister intervene in my love life.",Devon said. Rose nodded in understanding then she took hold of Devon's hand while saying,"Come on."

"Where are you taking me?",Devon asked.

"Inside, so we can spend more time together.",Rose said in a caring tone. Devon smiled then he and Rose went into his home, closing the door behind themselves.
