Court Sorcerer Merlin faces mild rejection on all sides and decides it's time for a vacation adventure. He's in for a wild time off on his own. And Camelot is in for a wild time left on its own as well.

After Arthur's death, Merlin has no intention of returning to Camelot. Gwen disagrees with this.

A strange saver appeared in Morgana's life just shortly after she'd been captured by Sarrum. Yet the saver has her own agenda and Morgana find herself in the kingdom of ice, waiting to be married to someone that may break her wings forever. Merlin got caught into a story he'd never expected to be part of. He's forced to make decisions that would shape his own destiny.

For a moment, for a frightful spell, Merlin believed Arthur would put out his cigarette against the tree, step out from under the oak, and leave. Just decide that he'd had enough, and that Merlin- that they weren't worth it anymore. Or: Merlin and Arthur have some relationship troubles and finally sit down to work it all out.

On the way home from Camlann and the shores of Avalon, Arthur is admonished to give attention to one remaining danger. Arthur then embarks upon the quest to right wrongs and repair the soul behind the smile.

Following the events from the first season with few changes, Merlin acts more sensible, and smarter instead of running head-first into trouble. He finds another mentor and learns more about the Old Religion in the journey of finding himself.

The sequel to The Ties That Bind, Where I Belong continues with Merlin’s journey to rid the bad magic from the Kingdoms and aims to restore the good. However, as Merlin sets out on his journey, is it all that it seems to be? What is the real reason behind Merlin’s calling and will it turn out the way it is supposed to happen? Will magic be restored and will Albion be saved?
