Konoha
Naruto left his house, excited for his first time outside the village. When he got to the gates Kabuto was waiting with the other two Genin. Torune then said, "your late Naruto, a shinobi should never be late." Naruto then shrugged and said, "sorry my alarm clock went off at the wrong time." Aina then said, "it is okay Naruto, let's all just get going." Kabuto then led the three out of the village. After they had been walking for a long time Naruto asked Kabuto "so where are we headed." Kabuto then told him "we are headed towards Kusagakure, the village hidden in the grass. They have close connections with Konoha and they probably are trying to make them even closer." Torune then said, "Kusagakure is a very small village and relies on its alliance with Konoha for most of its defensive needs, we should stay alert though we could be attacked by bandits, Aina how far can your Byakugan see." Aina then said, "Right, it can see around a few meters, it can't see as far as many others in the clan." Naruto then said, "it is okay Aina, I know you are just trying your best." Aina then said, "Thank you Naruto." Kabuto then asked Naruto "Naruto how has your practice with your Kekkei Genkai been going." Naruto then responded, "it has been going well, I have been able to shoot bones out of my fingers, and thanks for teaching me the medical ninjutsu, it has helped me when I have trouble getting the bones out without hurting myself." Naruto then smiled at Kabuto then said "I am glad that is helping you naruto." Kabuto then thought 'this is going well, the kid is getting more attached to me, I just have to keep this Hyuga out of this.' Kabuto then asked the three "so why did you three decide to become Shinobi." Torune answered first, "I want to become a Shinobi because I must defend our village." Aina answered secondly "I wanted to become one to honor the clan." Naruto answered, "I wanted to become a shinobi so I can become Hokage, if I am Hokage then people will stop fearing me, also I want to protect anyone like me and I want to find out if anyone else in my clan has survived." Kabuto then smiled thinking 'well Naruto you might get what you are wishing for.
Later, Kusogakure
Team Nine entered Kusagakure after about a day's worth of travel. As they entered the village Naruto realized that this village was very different than his home, unlike Konoha there were no tall trees surrounding the village, there wasn't really anything the city had tall grass around it, but the city was very industrialized with very few parks or trees full of cement and iron buildings. As they went to the center of the village, a tall and large man with a grass forehead protector, they approached him and he told them "So you must be the Konoha shinobi, I hope you are enjoying our village." Kabuto then responded saying "yes we are, now where would you like us to meet those Genin we were informed about." The kusa man then told them to follow him and led them to one of the training areas. Naruto saw the team of Genin, one of them was tall with his protector around his arm, he had black hair and was tall he also wore an open coat and had a sword on his back. The second genin had brown hair, he was quite short and wore a black shirt. Naruto Eyes was caught by the third member of the team, she wore a brown shirt and shorts and had red eyes and red hair, Naruto decided to go over and talk to her. Naruto smiled at her saying "Hi I am Naruto Kaguy, what is your name." She then looked at him answering "Hello Naruto I am Karin, Karin Uzumaki." Naruto then said, "well Karin, I like your hair, red is a really nice color, unlike me, I am stuck with this white hair." Karin then smiled saying "thanks, so why are you guys in kusagakure." Naruto then told her "well, Kabuto-sensei said that we are here to do training with you guys." Naruto then looked at her arm and saw bite marks on them. Naruto then in response asked her "hey why are there bite marks on your arms." Karin then in a saddened tone said "well my teammates did, you see when someone bites me they can get fully healed and their chakra restored." Naruto was appalled that someone would bite their own teammate, he then thought of an idea, he then put his hand on her arm and began healing her "Kabuto-sensei has taught me a little bit of medical ninjutsu, I hope this can alleviate a little bit of the pain." Karin then saw as the marks disappeared and she began to feel better. She then told Naruto "thanks, I feel a little bit better, hey you know what I don't think I have ever seen someone who looks quite like you." Naruto then said, "well I am a Kaguya, that's why I have these red dots on my forehead and this white hair, plus I can also do this." Naruto then showed her his Kekkei Genkai having a small bone come out of his body, Karin was amazed by this. She then asked Naruto "whoa, that's a Kekkei Genkai right, and does it hurt when you do that." Naruto then responded "yeah it is, I can turn my bones into weapons or I can turn them into things like shields, well I think we are supposed to be training right now I guess I can take the hits no matter too bad because of that too." the two of them then proceeded to train. Meanwhile, Kabuto watched them from afar thinking 'well that girl appears to be an Uzumaki, she could be quite useful, Orochimaru would be quite interested in her, in addition, Naruto appears to be friends with her, that friendship could be quite useful when the time comes.
Later that day
Kabuto
Kabuto had made sure to be quiet and not to be followed when he left to meet with Orochimaru, he went faster than normal as the land of grass was farther away from the Land of Sound than Konohagakure. When he eventually reached there many people were gathered in the hideout. Kabuto thought 'they must be here since the Chunin exams are so close occurring, he was trying to get to Orochimaru quickly when Guren stopped him, she said "what business do you have with Lord Orochimaru." Kabuto then smiled and said, "I have to report back my progress with young Naruto Kaguya." Guren then glared at him, "Your little pet project, you really think this kid is that important." Kabuto responded, "Lord Orochimaru definitely does, now can you oh so kindly let me pass." Guren then nodded, letting him through. Orochimaru was sitting on his throne, next to him was the sound four and Kimimaro. Kabuto kneeled before Orochimaru saying "Lord Orochimaru, I am glad to report that Naruto is coming along quite nicely, I also have to report that on a mission to Kusagakure we found a member of the Uzumaki clan Naruto also has appeared to sparked a friendship with Naruto." Orochimaru then gave a twisted smile and said "good work Kabuto, we are getting very close to the time of the invasion, the time to take Naruto is also coming soon." Kimimaro then spoke up "May I be the one to take Naruto from Konoha, I may not be able to fight but I believe I am strong enough to take a small child." Orochimaru nodded saying "yes Kimimaro you may and Kabuto you should be returning now."
The next day kusagakure gates
Naruto waved goodbye to Karin as he left Kusagakure Naruto said "Bye Karin hope to see you soon." Karin then smiled and said "yeah Naruto I hope to see you again." they both waved as they left. Kabuto smiled and asked Naruto "so it looks like you made a new friend?" Naruto smiled, saying "Yeah, she is really nice." Torune then smiled saying "ohh is that all, nothing else." Naruto then growled saying "y-yeah nothing else." they then stopped talking. They eventually made it back to Konoha. Naruto told the rest of his squad "hey guys I am going to see if Sasuke is around, I want to see if I can have a rematch with him." Torune then asked Naruto "wait rematch, how often do you fight him." Naruto then said, "umm about every week." Torune then asked him "how often do you win." Naruto then smiled and said, "our score is 51 wins and 50 losses, now I better get going." Naruto then left to join Sasuke. Sasuke was training with Kiba when he saw Naruto. Naruto said "hey Sasuke what are you guys doing. Sasuke said, "we are training, don't you see." Naruto then asked Sasuke "have you guys gone on a C rank yet." Sasuke then answered, "yes I have, we went to the land of waves and fought this guy with a kekkei Genkai and one of the swordsmen of the mist after the swordsman died the guy with the ice kekkei Genkai left." Naruto then asked Sasuke "so are you guys ready for the Chunin exams." Sasuke then nodded, Kiba then interrupted saying "yeah, I hope your team is ready because team seven is going to wipe the floor with you." Naruto then replied saying "Yeah, I want to test that." The two then began to spar, excited for the upcoming exams.
