4. Chapter 4-Chunin exams

Konohagakure

Naruto Kaguya

Naruto was walking down one of the many streets of Konoha thinking about his excitement for the chunin exams when he saw two groups of people that he had never seen in Konoha before. Naruto went up to see what they were up to and saw one group of what appeared to be Sand shinobi and what appeared to be a group of mist shinobi. Each member of the mist shinobi was peculiar to Naruto, one was a timid boy with blue hair, glasses, and a large weapon on his back. His other teammates were one who had sharklike features, Naruto realized he was probably from the Hoshigake clan and the third had a full black bodysuit and a pair of goggles. When Naruto approached, all eyes went on him. Naruto, a little uneasy with the glares said "hey, nice to meet you. Are you here for the chunin exams?" the mist ninja then nodded, the kid with the bodysuit then spoke, "greetings, I am Kaito, not to be blunt but due to your appearance I suspect you are of the Kaguya clan." Naruto then glared at him and said "yes, and do you have a problem with that." The Hoshigake then grinned and spoke "hey seems like we mist one, you know us Hoshigake which dealt with your clan." the Kid then pulled out a dagger and said, "seems like we missed one, I think I should correct that error." The blue-haired kid then said, "stop it Daisuke we've barely been here and you are already threatening someone." Daisuke then smiled and said, "come' on Chojuro I am just messing with him." Daisuke then moved the dagger away, Naruto then Grinned and said "yeah, you should be careful around us Kaguya you might find something you would rather not have." Naruto then demonstrated his Kekkei Genkai by pulling out a small bone. This action put a small amount of fear in them as they walked away. "You are quite intriguing." Naruto heard from behind him, as Naruto turned around he saw a boy with dark red hair and a gourd on his back. Naruto then said, "Didn't see you there, well, I didn't think I would meet another Jinchuriki so soon." The two people who accompanied the red-haired kid were shocked and a little bit scared of Naruto now. Naruto then smiled and said, "don't worry I don't bite, but I wonder who has more control over you or the tailed beast." Naruto then walked away to go to the exams.

The Academy, Chunin exams

Naruto went with his team to the waiting area, while Torune and Aina stayed together Naruto decided to talk to others there. Naruto went to talk to Sasuke and his team. Naruto said, "hey Sasuke, how are you doing." Sasuke then turned around and said "not much, you missed a weird kid trying to fight me." Then Sakura interrupted them saying "why do you guys talk like you are close, you barely spend time together these days." Naruto then said, "Well I guess it might be because me and Sasuke both are the last of our clan and in the academy and he is my rival." Naruto then got back on the subject saying "hey Sasuke, there is a kid from the sand which has the power to control sand, if you have to fight him surrender, he is a Jinchuriki." Sasuke then nodded. After this, a large man with two scars came into the room and said "I am Ibiki, I am the head of the Interrogation and Torture department, I will be your first proctor. All of the genins then entered the room. Ibiki then said "all of you will have you complete this test, if you get caught cheating you will fail. After everyone was done finishing all of the questions Ibiki said "you have one more question, if you fail this you cannot become a chunin." Naruto then thought about this and believed the reward outweighed the risk and he chose to take it. After everyone had chosen their option Ibiki said "all those who decided to take it pass, go to the entrance of the forest of death." Everyone then left go to there.

Forest of Death

Naruto Kaguya

Naruto was at the entrance of the forest of death with the rest of the genin when their proctor, Anko spoke up. "Listen you weak little genin, for this exam you have to get two scrolls, the heaven and earth scrolls, you will have one of these scrolls and will have to take one from another squad, once you have done this you have to make it to the tower in the center, and you can't look inside the scroll." after she finished saying this Naruto said "Is murder permitted in this exam. Anko then answered, "Yes it is allowed, however, we do not encourage it." Anko then thought 'so this is the Kaguya Lord Hokage was talking about.' After this Naruto and his team left for the exam, however, some distance away the sound shinobi were watching, their leader Dosu said "Follow the Kaguya, we must complete our mission for Orochimaru.

Meanwhile

Naruto and his team were going through the forest when he realized Aina may be tiring so he said "perhaps we should take a break for a while." The other two agreed with this and they went down to a clearing in the area. Once they had gotten down there Naruto said "perhaps we should make a plan, I think that we should go around the center and wait for people to start getting around there, since they will be very tired from the fighting they will be easier for us to pick off." Torune then nodded saying "yes, I believe that would be the best strategy for getting there unharmed." Aina then said, "I don't know, should we really be preying on the weak." Naruto then said, "I know it may sound cruel, but we should not take any chances on this." Aina nodded. Naruto then said, "Torune can you go up ahead to see if there is a good path." Torne then nodded and left. After Torune had left Naruto began to think about what he wanted, he had wanted to find his clan but from what everyone had said the Kaguya clan had seemed to all die out, the idea of him being the last one had scared him. Naruto did not like that thought of being alone, with no family out there. Naruto had been alone for most of his life and had wanted a sort of family he could have out there. Then Naruto heard something around him. Aina said, "I feel some coming towards us." Naruto nodded and began to get ready. However before he was truly ready the person had already arrived, this was someone who Naruto had recognized from the school books, Orochimaru. Orochimaru then said "so you're the Kaguya everyone is talking about, let's see if you live up to your clan's reputation. Orochimaru then charged at Naruto, Naruto jumped back trying to make the distance between them. Naruto then shot bones from his fingers which Orochimaru easily dodged. Naruto then ordered, "Aina go get Torune, we will need his help if we are going to survive." Aina then nodded and left. Orochimaru gave a twisted smile and said "sending her away, how noble do you want to spare her from this?" Naruto then glared at him and said "you could say that, but I may need Torune to fend you off." Naruto then shot a bone out of his arm at Orochimaru who dodged it easily. Orochimaru then shot a fireball at Naruto. Naruto then created a water wall to block it. As they continued to clash Naruto thought 'he definitely lives up to the title of Sannin, however, I feel as if he is holding back. Orochimaru then smiled and said, "well Naruto, you appear to be holding up quite well." Naruto then smiled saying "high praise coming from a Sannin." Orochimaru then threw five Kunai at Naruto who threw shuriken and said "Shadow Shuriken Jutsu." then the single shuriken turned into five which deflected Orochimaru's five. Naruto then created three shadow clones and went on the attack. Orochimaru easily defeated the shadow clones and out of the smoke, Naruto came with a bone dagger to attempt to stab Orochimaru. Orochimaru however saw this coming, Orochimaru then froze Naruto there. Orochimaru then said, "you are strong Naruto, your talents are wasted in this village." Orochimaru then bit Naruto's neck giving him the curse mark. Naruto then collapsed due to the pain, Orochimaru, as he was leaving, said "you will come to me after all I have another of your clan with me." this was the last thing Naruto heard before he lost consciousness. Torune and Aina returned to Naruto collapsed, Aina asked "is he dead." Torune then checked and said, "no he isn't, however, he will probably be out for a while." After they had been for a quarter of an hour the people approached them. Torune looked up and saw their insignia, sound shinobi. Torune said, "what are you doing here sound shinobi." Dosu then said, "me and my partners are here to kill that Kaguya." Torune then said, "I am sorry but I cannot permit you to do that if you are going to attempt that you will have to defeat me." Torune then took his gloves off, showing the purple bugs on his skin. Zaku the step forward saying "I will defeat him." Zaku then ran towards Torune, Zaku then tried to attack Torune with his sound weapons, however when he tried to Torune moved out of the way and placed bugs on his neck as he held him in a chokehold. Torune then said to the three shinobi "my bugs will eat through his chakra quickly, killing him in five minutes, I can only take them off and on so if you want him to live you better accept my terms." Dosu then responded, "what would those be." Torune then responded, "I know you have to heaven scrolls, give us one and leave." Torune thought 'this better work, if they don't care about him we are screwed, they seem to be long-range fighters and me and Aina are short-range.' Dosu then said, "we agree, now give us back our teammate." Torune agreed, by this point, Zaku had signs of physical exhaustion. The three sound Shinobi then left. A little bit after they left Naruto began to awaken. Naruto then said, "what happened." Torune then said, "we found you knocked out and we had to deal with the sound ninja, on the bright side we got a heaven scroll." Naruto then nodded and said "alright guys let's get to the tower.

Later, the tower at the center

All of the genins who had passed appeared to be gathering in one room so Naruto and his team joined them. Naruto saw the Sunagakure genin, the Genin from teams seven, eight, and ten. Naruto also saw the Kirigakure genin there and the Genin from Might Guy's team and the sound genin. The Hokage began saying "congratulations to all those who have passed this far in the exams, however, the amount of you was unforeseen so you all will be partaking in the preliminary round, all of you will be led to an area to watch your matches, now I will leave the rest to your proctor." after Hiruzen left a man with a sword on his back came forward, "my name is Hayate Gekko, I will be your proctor for the preliminary matches now follow me to where you will be taking them." When everyone got to the area Hayate said "the scoreboard will show who will be going" Then the scoreboard showed the match the scoreboard showed Torune and Kaito being the first match.

Torune vs Kaito

Torune circled around the area trying to think of what to do. 'This was the worst matchup I could have gotten, this kid has an airtight suit if I want to get through that I will need to destroy it.' After that Torune charged at Kaito, Kaito evaded the kunai strikes. After this Torune threw shuriken and said "Shadow clone shuriken jutsu." then the shuriken multiplied into fifteen shurikens. there were too many for Kaito to dodge and he got hit in three places two on his arms and one on his leg." Torune then thought 'now I can attack.' Torune then took off his glove which was covered with his purple bugs. Kait then said, "so that is why you wear this suit, you're his son." Torune then stopped moving and asked, "you know about my father." Kaito then said, "Oh I KNOW about him, during the third war your father MURDERED MY PARENTS." Torune then said, "so they fought against him in the third war." Kaito then laughed and said, "now I get to defeat you." Kaito then pulled the katana he had on his back and charged at Torune. Torune was evading the flurry of strikes coming his way. Torune thought 'If this keeps up I won't be able to evade for long.' Torune then after a large swinger went down and kicked Kaito, after Kaito fell before he could recover Torune covered his hands with his bugs. Torune then said, "so you are from the Oda clan, I heard of you apparently in the mist you were great swordsmen many of you joined the seven swordsmen, after the war though you are few in number if you are any assessment you are in a sad state." Kaito tried to get up, his anger swelling but Torune kicked him. Kaito could not get up so the match was over. Hayate announced, "match one Torune Aburame." Daisuke then said, "pitiful, whenever Kaito loses his temper he loses the fight." Chojuro then interjected "yeah but when he keeps his temper under control he can win easily." Torune then went up to the stands and Naruto said "good job Torune, but you could have been a little less cruel." Torune then said "in the life of a shinobi there is no room for remorse." before they could continue the board showed the next name.

Fuu Yamanaka vs Ino Yamanaka

The two Yamanaka's then went down. Before they started Naruto asked Torune, "hey Torune don't you know that kid." Torune then said, "yes I do, I used to train with him when I was younger." Ino then charged at Fu. they began a taijutsu battle that would go on for some time. Naruto then asked, "why are they just doing Taijutsu." Torune then said, "they are both Yamanak who specialize in their clan Jutsu so they can't use ninjutsu so they are using taijutsu." Torune then paused and said "however that won't last forever being that Fu is much more skilled than Ino so it is only a matter of time before he wins. This did continue, then Ino threw a kunai at Fu who dodged easily and then charged at Ino and swiped at her legs causing her to fall. Fu then held a kunai to her neck ending the match. Hayate Then said, "this match goes to Fu Yamanaka." Naruto then said "that was pretty shot but that was to be expected. Everyone then looked at the board which showed what the next match would be.

Kin vs Sakura

When the match started Sakura charged at Kin. She tried to punch her but was blacked. Then kin threw senbon with bells at Sakura. Sakura evaded both of them. Sakura then mocked her for missing saying "ha can you even aim." Kin then said "I wasn't trying to hit you." kin then threw four more senbon at Sakura, Sakura was hit by two of these ones in the leg and one in the stomach. Sakura was in immense pain because of this, the one in the stomach barely missed a vital organ. Kin then mocked Sakura for her failings "oh what didn't your Sensei teach you how to avoid senbon, you're a pretty pathetic kunoichi. Sakura yelled back "SHUT UP you don't know what you're talking about and besides you haven't won yet." Kin then smiled and said, "it seems like you haven't taken a listen to those bells." Sakura then began to feel pain in her ears, this caused her to scream. Kin then said, "those bells emit a sound which causes immense pain in your ears and hallucinations." After Kin said this Sakura began to hallucinate four or five versions of Kin standing in front of her, Sakura tried to keep on fighting. Sakura tried to charge at her but was unable to hit her. After a while Kin prepared to get bored with this and started to beat on Sakura until she had fallen. Hayate then announced "winner Kin."

Kin then joined the stands, Naruto commented "that kind of technique would be pretty hard to avoid, if you wanted to you would probably need specific training." After Naruto said this the next match was announced

Shikamaru vs Zaku

Shikamaru and Zaku walked onto the field. Shikamaru thought "this is going to be a lot of work for one exam." Zaku then yelled, "Are we going to stand here or fight." Zaku then put his arms up and said "Decapitating Airwaves." then pressurized air came at Shikamaru who moved out of the way. Zaku then growled under his breath and proceeded to do the same move a few times. After that Shikamaru then said "Shadow possession jutsu" and a shadow stretched from Shikamaru going towards Zaku. Zaku then jumped out of the way. Zaku then grinned and took out a kunai and threw it at Shikamaru who easily dodged it. Zaku then used decapitating airwaves again. In the audience Ino then yelled "SHIKAMARU BEAT THIS GUY ALREADY." this comment annoyed Shikamaru, he thought 'does she think I want to be doing this for this long.' Zaku then began using shuriken to try the same move he had done earlier again which once again failed. Zaku was getting impatient, he realized 'if I keep doing this I will run out of chakra, that Aburame in the forest did a number on me, I hoped to keep this move hidden until the real matches but it looks like I will have no choice." Zaku then boasted to Shikamaru "you know you should quit, if I use this next move I will annihilate you." Shikamaru then formed a small smile and said "I have far more chakra then you I can outlast you, yeah Torune told me what he did to you in the forest, and besides if I surrendered now my Mom would kill me." Zaku scowled and said as he raised his arms "don't say I didn't warn you, EXTREME DECAPITATING AIRWAVES." After he said that what seemed to be a large wave of air washed over the area. Zaku smiled as the dust settled, however to his surprise Shikamaru was still standing. Zaku then yelled, "HOW, how did you do that." Shikamaru then explained, "I used Shadow protection to create a dome around me so those airwaves didn't touch me." 'gotta thank mom for drilling that one in my head.' Zaku knew he was beaten but refused to go down so he began to run at Shikamaru with a kunai but was stopped halfway by Shikamaru using Shadow possession. Hayate then said "Shikamaru Nara is the victor. Shikamaru then went up to the stand and was congratulated by Choji and Ino, they looked up as the board detailed the next match.

Temari vs Chojuro

Temari laughed "I have to go up against this weakling, whatever." Chujuro then sighed, and Daisuke smiled and told Chujor "don't worry about him, just show her the strength of the mist, Ao-sensei will be proud if at least two of us can pass." Chojuro then smiled and said "yeah, proud." Chojuro then picked up his blade and went down. Chojuro then told Temari "do you know what this blade can do." He said this referring to his blade, Temari then shrugged. Chojuro then said, "this is Hiramekarei this is one of the legendary swords of the mist." Temari then said, "well that blade won't save you." Temari then used her gigantic fan to harness her wind chakra, Chojuro then blocked with his blade, and when he blocked his blade absorbed the chakra. Chojuro then took out a scroll that released water and Chojuro made hand signs and the water turned into a large wave that came crashing towards Temari. Temari then used her fan to channel her wind chakra again, barely stopping the wave this time. Temari then realized this wasn't going to be easy, 'this guy keeps absorbing the chakra with his blade, perhaps if I use a strong enough attack he will be overpowered or I can overload the blade.' Temari prepared for her fan and Chojuro got in a defensive position and said "you think doing the same trick will stop me." She then let out a tornado of wind going towards Chojuro who then put his sword to block. As it began to dissipate Chojuro looked at this blade and said "well it seems to have charged up enough." Temari then said, "Dammit I thought that would be enough." Chojuro then said "if you ever learned about the seven swords you would know users of this blade overcharge it with chakra and then release it. He then opened up his two-handled blades releasing a large ball of Chakra which knocked out Temari. Hayate then announced, "Chojuro is the winner." Chojuro then left the stage and went back to the bleachers. Daisuke then told Chojuro "Good job Chojuro, I hope I can match your performance." Chojuro then smiled and said "thanks Daisuke, I hope you do good in your match too." things weren't as happy with the sand siblings, Kankuro said, "she should have been more careful in her match, but it isn't much you can do if your opponent can absorb all your attacks." Gaara had less kind words saying "she was weak, and deserved this loss if she wasn't able to beat that weak swordsman."

Shino vs Tenten

Shino went down to meet Tenten. Shino said to Tenten "I hope to have a good match with you." Tenten then said, "yeah, just because you are a year younger than me doesn't mean I will go easy on you." Tenten then took out Shuriken and threw them at Shino, Shino then had his beetles block them. Shino then sent the bugs towards Tenten. Before they could reach Tenten she took out a scroll that contained weapons enhanced with chakra. Shino then said "impressive you put your chakra into weapons and kept them in your scrolls." Tenten then smiled and said, "well I always like to be prepared." Tenten then began to close the distance, she was almost able to hit Shino when he used his beetles to fly in the air. Tenten then thought "dammit, I have to beat him fast or he will win this." Tenten then looked at Might Guy and asked him "may I use it Guy-Sensei." Might Guy then nodded. Tenten then began to have a green glow surrounded her. In the stands, Naruto asked Kabuto "Sensei what is that." Kabuto then answered, "It appears that Guy has taught his students some of the Eight Gates, the eight gates are meant to prevent you from overexerting yourself, however you can train to be able to temporarily open these for a temporary boost, however when that boost ends you will feel extreme exhaustion." Tenten then smiled and jumped up to where Shino was and before he could react she punched him into the ground, she then hit him too fast for him to react. Once this beating was over Shino said "I give up, I can't think of any way for me to win." Hayate then stepped in and said, "the victor is Tenten." Rock Lee in the crowd then yelled "GREAT JOB TENTEN, YOU SHOWED THEM." Tenten then thought 'this would feel better if Lee wasn't screaming.' Tenten then went back to the stands. Naruto then went down to help Shino up and said "here let me help you." Shino then said "thank you Naruto." the two of them then went back to the bleachers. They then looked to see who was next.

Neji vs Daisuke

Neji entered the arena and glared at Daisuke. Naruto then asked Aina "hey Aina do you know this guy isn't a Hyuga." Aina then answered, "I don't know him personally but he is a genius of the clan and talks about fate." Naruto then thought 'I should observe him further. Neji told Daisuke "hey, you Hoshigake, you should quit." Daisuke then said, "I will never quit." Neji then said, "it is your fate to lose." Neji then activated his byakugan. Neji then began to attack with the gentle fist. Daisuke then evaded the strikes and then jumped back to make the distance. Daisuke then used a water bullet to attack Neji who easily avoided it. Daisuke then took out a scroll that summoned water. Daisuke then made hand signs and said "Water Dragon technique." after saying this a great dragon made out of water that charged at Neji. Neji then moved out of the way and before it could move to attack Neji again Neji struck it with a hit of the gentle fist. Neji then charged at Daisuke, however before he could hit Daisuke he put his hands on the ground and set up a water wall to protect him. As Neji hit the wall it dissipated and Daisuke then made a swipe at him with his sword, Neji however blocked it and hit Daisuke in the chest. Daisuke then stepped back in pain but before he could recover Neji hit him five more times and kept hitting him until he hit the floor. Daisuke was severely injured and then was taken away. Hayate then announced "victor is Neji Hyuga"

Aina vs Hinata

Aina went down to the arena, she glared at Hinata and said "sorry about this lady Hinata, but I must fight you to the best of my abilities." Hinata then answered "d-don't worry Aina, j-just do your best.'' The both of them then turned on their Byakugans and began using the gentle fist to attempt to hit each other. They kept attempting to strike each other, however they were both equal in strength so they were unable to hit each other successfully. The match kept going on, Naruto then asked Kabuto "Kabuto-sensei what are they doing, it just looks like they are using taijutsu with their Byakugan activated." Kabuto then explained to Naruto "they are using the gentle fist, with their byakugan they are able to see each other's chakra points so they use that in conjunction to shutdown chakra points." Naruto then thought about it and asked Kabuto "is it possible for a non-Hyuga to use the gentle fist and the Byakugan." Kabuto then told Naruto sadly that is impossible, even if you killed a Hyuga you can't use a Byakugan from them unless it is the main house and even then you can't use the gentle fist." After being told this Naruto sighed a sigh of disappointment. As they had spoken the match continued Aina thought 'If I am to win this I must start using ninjutsu.' Lightning then began to form around her and she hit Hinata too fast for Hinata to hit her. Since she was now unable to block and Aina began her attack with four trigram thirty-two palms, she then began hitting Hinata. She began her barrage of attacks, "four, eight, sixteen and thirty-two palms." After she finished the attack Hinata fell over. Aina then said in a sincere tone "sorry lady Hinata, I hope my injuries aren't too severe." Hinata then smiled and said, "it is okay, you were just doing what you were told, but what you did with lightning style and gentle fist that you must teach me." Aina smiled and told, "Hinata once you have recovered we will do that." Hinata was then carried away to be treated. Hayate Announced "winner Aina Hyuga." Kurenai then spoke to Kabuto "what was that, that was more than just the gentle fist, that was lightning style." Kabuto then smiled and said, "I was teaching Aina and I thought it a waste not to experiment with the gentle fist, after all with her being affinitive with the lightning release I thought it a waste not to experiment." Kabuto then continued "the gentle fist goes generations without any change, I think it a waste not to change it at all." Kurenai then told Kabuto "the Hyuga elder will be displeased." Kabuto adjusted his glasses and said, "truly I don't care what they say, I only care if my students improve." They all then looked at the board to see who was next.

Kiba vs Gaara

Kiba then felt a cold shiver go down his spine, he thought 'this can't be right, this is the kid who massacred all those genins before, this is the kid who Naruto said has a demon in him, and the kid Naruto said if you see him run.' Kiba was frozen, unable to move. "Kiba, you're up," Sasuke said. Kiba then slowly went down. Kiba saw a twisted smile on the face of Gaara, a face full of bloodlust. Kiba then took a long breath and said "I surrender." Hayate then looked down at him and said "are you sure." Kiba then nodded saying "I surrender." Hayate then announced, "the winner is Gaara of the sand." Gaara's face then began to morph into unbridled anger, he screamed "NO, I MUST FIGHT SOMEONE, MOTHER DEMANDS BLOOD!" Gaara then launched sand at Hayate and Kib, but before it could hit him Hayate dissolved the attack with a swing of his sword, and by the time the sword had been swung four of the Jounin were around Gaara and prepared. Anko was covering his body with snakes, Might Guy had a kunai to his neck, Kakashi had a Chidori prepared and Kurenai was ready to perform a Genjutsu on him. Gaara had anger on him, everyone could sense it, however Gaara's attention was suddenly changed to focus on his Jounin-Sensei calling to him. "GAARA enough you won the match, we don't need to create an international incident here," Baki ordered Gaara, Gaara then began to calm down and the Jounin began to move away. Kiba was still on the ground in terror, however he was brought back to reality by his Sensei calling to him." "KIBA," Kakashi said as he put his hand out to help Kiba up. Kiba then took it and stood up. Kakashi then told him "it's better you surrender now than die, never let the objective get you killed, in my opinion, you made the right call." Kiba then smiled and said "yes sensei." As they went to the bleachers waiting to see who is next.

Dosu vs Choji

Both of them moved onto the field, Dosu said "this fight will be over in two minutes." Choji then yelled, "YOU WANT TO TEST THAT." Choji then said "partial expansion Jutsu and his arm extended and tried to hit those who easily dodged the attack. Choji then expanded his body and pulled his arm and his legs in and began to roll like a ball. Dosu avoided his movements until Dosu was able to move Choji into a wall where he got stuck. While Choji was stuck Dosu put his arm next to his back and used his sound device to emitted a sound to knock out Choji. Dosu then said, "I told you you would be out in two seconds." Hayate then announced the results of the match "Dosu of the sound wins."

Kankuro vs Sasuke

Sasuke jumped down to face Kankuro, as soon as it started Sasuke ran at Kankuro, Sasuke was even able to get a few blows in on Kankuro. As the fighting continued Sasuke activated his Sharingan and blew a large fireball at Kankuro which he was barely able to dodge. After this attack, Kankuro brought out his puppet Kankuro then said "you know you're pretty strong to make me take out my puppet this early." Sasuke then said "or perhaps you're just weak and I am just proving it." This statement annoyed Kankuro, after this point Kankuro became more aggressive. He began pulling his puppet out more, spreading his chakra strings very far. Sasuke began to tire of fighting this way. Sasuke then said, "this is becoming tiresome, I am going to use a Jutsu I copied on my last mission." Sasuke then made one hand sign and said "hidden mist Jutsu." the arena then became covered in mist. Kankuro thought 'he must have come across a hidden mist ninja after activating his Sharingan, I will have to be much more careful now.' Kankuro began to watch every little movement, he tried to listen for any steps to signify that someone was there until a kunai came at Kankuro, he easily avoided it. However after that attack Sasuke snuck up behind him and threw a shuriken, Kankuro thought he had dodged it, however, it had begun to start coming back and it sliced the chakra strings from Kankuro's control. Before Kankuro could regain his puppet Sasuke kicked it away and then destroyed it with a fireball Jutsu. When the mist had been dispelled Sasuke had a kunai around Kankuro's neck. Kankuro then said, "I surrender." Hayate then announced, "Sasuke Uchiha is the victor." Sasuke then went back to the stands, Naruto then congratulated him on his win saying "good job Sasuke, nice trick you have there with the mist, you gotta teach me that." Sasuke then smiled and said, "only when you beat me." Naruto then grinned and said "well time for my match.

Rock Lee vs Naruto Kaguya

Naruto went down to the arena and told Rock Lee "you better not hold back, I've been waiting this long you better be good." Rock Lee then looked at his Sensei and asked him "Guy-Sensei may I take them off." Might Guy then nodded and Lee smiled and then took off the weights on his legs which when he took them physically shook the ground. Naruto was shocked 'I can't take chances with this guy.' Naruto then looked at Kabuto who said "Naruto you can use it." Naruto then smiled and said let's get started. Rock Lee then quickly tried to kick Naruto in the chest, however, he was prevented from doing this because Naruto's ribs came out of his body as a makeshift shield. Rock Lee then jumped back shocked and said "what did you do there, was that some sort of Ninjutsu technique." Naruto then laughed and said, "this is no mere technique, this is the rare kekkei Genkai of the Kaguya clan, we can turn our bones into weapons and defenses." Naruto then charged at Rock Lee and shot bones out of his arms, Lee was easily able to avoid this attack and was able to counterattack, Naruto in turn used his bones as a defense from an incoming punch from Lee. Naruto then created five shadow clones that tried to attack Rock Lee who dodged and counterattacked their attacks, however out of the smoke Naruto came and swung a bone knife which Rock Lee dodged and then jumped back to gain some distance. Rock Lee then used a leaf hurricane that landed a blow on Naruto who then shot a bone from his arm which injured Lee. Each of them showed very few signs of being anywhere close to losing. In the bleachers, Kabuto said, "Rock Lee is certainly interesting, he seems to have become quite the powerhouse." Might Guy then interjected saying "Yes my Lee is quite powerful, I have trained him well." Kabuto then though 'still, I wonder who will outlast who.' The two of them continued to trade blows, sometimes one of them was able to land a blow on the other, however, it was nothing decisive. Naruto thought 'if something doesn't change soon this fight will never end.' Naruto then said to Rock Lee "do you have any more moves, can you use those gates as that girl did." Rock Lee then said "yes, but Guy-Sensei said never to use them unless someone important is being threatened." Naruto then said, "in this match, you are supposed to use everything you have." Rock Lee then thought it over and then opened the first gate. Naruto felt threatening blows unlike before where the blows had been able to be countered now Naruto wasn't able to counter these attacks, however, after a while of this Lee began to tire, seeing this Lee opened the second gate Kabuto the Asked Might Guy "how many of the Gates have you taught him" Might Guy then said, "I have taught him the first three gates." Naruto hearing this felt desperate, thinking about how hard of a time he was already having, how hard it would be once that happened, felt a dark power overtake him, he felt more powerful, the power of the curse mark began to overtake him. In the stand Orochimaru was watching, thinking 'yes Naruto use this power.' Naruto then began to go on the offensive even beating back Lee, with this power Naruto was able to hit Lee and then hit him through his legs with bone spikes. Naruto then held one to Lee's throat and said "this is over, I have won." Hayate then announced "Winner Naruto Kaguya." After this the curse mark rescinded and Naruto returned to the stands leaving everyone speechless.

Later

After the matches were all over everyone who wasn't severely injured or out of the exams were taken to a new open area, with a box. Hayate said "everyone takes a number from the box. Everyone took a number, Neji said "I got one." Aina said, "I got two." Chojuro said, "I got three." Tenten said, "I got four." Fu said, "I got five." Sasuke said, "I got six." Dosu said, "I got Seven." Naruto said "I got eight." and Gaara said, "mine is nine." Shikamaru said, "I got ten." Kin said "obviously I got eleven obviously." Hayate then showed a board that showed a tournament bracket. Hayate then said, "this bracket will show you who you will be fighting this order, even if you lose your matches but do a great show doesn't mean you can't be a chunin, it depends on how good of a showing you do, the same way if you win every match but have a bad showing you can still not become a chunin." After this everyone began to leave to train. Naruto asked Aina " do you think you are going to be ok, that Neji seems to be very strong, perhaps you should train with me and Kabuto Sensei." Aina then said, "thanks Naruto I will think about it." Sasuke thought ' so I will be going against the kid from the sound village.' I will have to train harder than ever before.

Sound Village, Orochimaru

Orochimaru returned to his hideout pleased with himself, he had achieved all his goals, he was able to give Naruto a curse mark and he was able to test his skills and he was able to activate it in the preliminary matches. As Orochimaru made it to his throne Kimimaro came to Orochimaru, the sickness had been advancing, however they were able to stave it off with his pills. Kimimaro asked Orochimaru "Lord Orochimaru, what has become of my cousin in Konoha." Orochimaru gave a twisted smile and said "He is doing quite well, he has become quite strong, he was able to control Shikotsumayaku, he also survived me giving him the heaven curse mark, he will make a great addition to our village." Kimimaro then asked Orochimaru "when may I bring him here Lord Orochimaru." Orochimaru then told Kimimaro "you may be able to do it quite soon, be patient Kimimaro, he will come sooner than you think."
