Hey guys! Here is chapter 2. I'm excited because I get to introduce a new character. He's not in the movies but if you're a big fan of the Lion King you will know who he is. Please review and have a nice day! :)
Months later - 2015
Azra walked down the streets of the capital city, ignoring the women shooting her dirty looks. They knew she was the daughter of their previous leader or as some people liked to call him, the spawn of Satan. Azra did not care what they thought. She tossed her long brown hair aside and kept walking.
Several more women whispered to each other about Azra. But Azra couldn't hear them because she had her earbuds in. She was listening to her favorite genre of music, classic rock n' roll. Scar had taught her all the greats in music and how to play guitar. Azra had kept it up and practiced since she was 10.
Azra's thoughts were interrupted by a black Honda Convertible that had pulled up beside her. Inside were Sarabi and Sarafina, who looked like they had just come back from shopping. "Azra, what are you doing out here by yourself?" Sarabi asked. She knew that Azra was a skilled fighter and a smooth talker so she could get out of most situations but sometimes Sarabi worried about her niece's safety. With her parents gone, Sarabi and Sarafina were Azra's legal guardians until she turned 18. Azra was like a daughter to them.
"I have my pistol with me, Sarabi." Azra said and pulled her gun off her belt. "Your pistol? That thing belongs in a museum or something." Sarabi told her. "No way. This thing shoots to good. Besides, I would have inherited it anyway." Azra pointed out. That pistol was the very weapon Scar had used to kill Mufasa.
Sarafina sighed. "Sarabi let the girl have her fun. She will be an adult in two years." she said, looking at how much Azra had grown. "Alright but be back before six o'clock. We're having dinner at the palace." Sarabi informed Azra. "Okay." Azra said as they drove off. She continued walking.
Suddenly a man bumped into her. She looked up and saw Tojo. The 18 year old who Azra knew had a crush on her. She secretly had a crush on him in return. Tojo was the son of Eugene Smith, who used to be a friend of Scar's and was a soldier in the Prideland marines. Azra and Tojo wanted to be soldiers in the marines too just like their fathers.
Tojo brushed his shaggy brown hair out of his eyes nervously and looked at Azra. "Um, hi Azra. I was wondering if you wanted to, you know, hang out later tomorrow." Tojo said with a nervous smile. "Sounds great. Meet me by the gym at three tomorrow." Azra told him. "Okay." Tojo said happily as Azra walked away.
Azra continued to walk down the sidewalk for a few minutes but she stopped when a group of men in an alleyway caught her eye. She frowned in disgust at who they were. "Hello princess." one man said with a grin. "What are you doing here? I thought you guys got arrested." Azra growled. "No. All we had to tell them was that your father forced us to join his army." the man snickered.
"That's a lie." Azra muttered. "They don't know that. By the way, how is the family?" the man asked. "We're split up. Some of us are here and some are in the Outlands. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go." Azra said quickly and turned to leave. The man jumped up and grabbed her wrist. Azra gasped. "You're going nowhere. Get her boys!" the man yelled out.
Azra kicked him in the groin and broke free of his grip. The man groaned and fell back. Another man tried to grab Azra. Azra punched him across the face and he fell backwards as well. Another one lunged at her but Azra ducked and knocked him out. She didn't stop fighting until there was only two men left. "Anybody else?" Azra asked the other men. The other men shook their heads in fear. "Good." Azra said and ran away from the alley.
When she was a good distance away, she decided to go back home. She lived her parents' old house about a mile from the palace. Azra turned a corner and walked all the way back to her house. She opened the front door and went to her back room. It was painted a dark turquoise and was well organized. Her dark green Fender guitar sat by the big windowsill. Her desk had papers and books stacked on top of it and a jar full of pens and pencils.
Azra grabbed a small leather backpack and put her phone, keys, pistol, and a bottle of sparkling water inside. She went outside and climbed into her Jeep Wrangler. She drove to the palace, passed security, and went to the dining room. Simba, Nala, Sarabi, Sarafina, Timon, Pumbaa, and Zazu were inside sitting down at the large table.
