Pridelands - 2019

So far Azra's life was going great. Things with Tojo were awesome. He had proposed to her six months ago and now they were engaged. They would be getting married in a few months. They had been in the Prideland Marine Corps for 2 years now. Azra was at home right now because they didn't need her for anything. She worked with the marines when needed and worked with Royal Security when at home.

Today Azra was out shopping for a wedding dress with Nala. "How about this one?" Nala asked and picked up a sparkly, sleeveless dress. "Too much bling. I'm just looking for a simple dress with maybe a little lace." Azra said and looked through some more dresses.

Azra couldn't believe how fast time had gone. Just four years ago everything was a wreck but now the country was back to normal and everything was peaceful. With of course the exception of the Outlanders but nothing had happened with them yet. Simba was a wonderful leader. He would be making Mufasa proud.

Azra's thoughts were interrupted by Nala's phone ringing. "Hello?" Nala said. Azra could hear Simba's voice on the other end. He sounded worried. "Whoa Simba! Calm down. What's going on?" Nala asked. Azra raised an eyebrow. "They're what? But how? Don't worry we're on our way. Bye." Nala said and hung up. "What's wrong?" Azra asked.

"I can't believe it. It's Shenzi." Nala said in shock. "What? I thought she was in prison. What is she doing here?" Azra cried. "I don't know but we have to go. She's with a group and they're attacking the palace." Nala said and rushed to the door. Azra followed her. They saw panicked people screaming and running away from something.

They saw a group of over fifteen people charging down the street. At the front was the deadly trio, Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed. All of the terrorists carried machine guns and had a determined look on their head faces. One thing was for sure. Shenzi was out for blood and there was no stopping her. Azra knew how deadly Shenzi was as she used to be Scar's top soldier.

Azra saw several jeeps filled with more terrorists behind them. "Oh my God…" Nala mumbled. Azra tried to think about what they could do. "Okay. We need to think this through. The both of us against all of them will end very badly. So we need to follow them to the palace but stealthily." Azra told Nala. "I agree. Let's go." Nala said as they slipped out the door.

They carefully walked to Azra's Jeep and drove to the park entrance close to the palace. Azra pulled out her phone and called Tojo. "Hey honey. Yes, I'm okay. No. Me and Nala are at the entrance to the park. Come with Eugene and meet us here. Oh and bring our rifles. Bye." Azra said and hung up. Later, Tojo showed up in his truck with Eugene and three other men.

The five of them got out of the truck and grabbed their guns. Eugene walked up to Azra. "Azra, meet my friends Mark, Sanchez, and Axel. They are old military buddies of me and your father. They can help us." Eugene introduced the men. "Oh yeah. You're Mark who lives next to my mother." Nala told Mark. "Yeah that's me." Mark said with a shrug.

"It's a pleasure to meet the daughter of the man who helped me through basic training." Sanchez said to Azra and extended his hand. Azra shook it. "Come on guys. Shenzi will kill Simba if we don't hurry. There's no telling what she's capable of." Tojo said and handed Azra her rifle. "Tojo's right. Let's go." Azra said and led the group to the palace's front doors.

"What exactly is the plan here?" Axel asked. "Get inside. Find Simba. Defeat the terrorists. Got it?" Azra said as she cocked her gun. "Good enough for me." Axel said as he reloaded his gun. "Split up and good luck everyone. Let's meet at Simba's office." Nala said and quietly opened the front door.

The groups were Azra, Nala, and Tojo and Eugene, Sanchez, Mark, and Axel. Azra carefully walked up the stairs and crept into the hallway. There were at least three of Shenzi's people on watch. "Azra, take 'em out." Tojo whispered. Azra raised her gun and waited. Then she aimed and fired three shots. Killing all three people on watch.

Azra, Nala, and Tojo rushed to the elevator and quickly punched the number in. They made it to the floor where Simba's office was and Tojo kicked down the door. Eugene and the others came as well. Simba was tied to his chair and had a piece of tape over his mouth. He was yelling but the tape muffled it. Nala ripped it off of his mouth. "Don't! It's a trap!" Simba shouted.

Suddenly the door closed and Shenzi came out of the shadows with Banzai and many others. Shenzi and Banzai visibly looked a little older with streaks of grey in their black hair and thinner bodies. "Well, well, well. If it isn't the queen and her protection. Oh and Mini Scar! It's nice to see you to." Shenzi sneered. Mini Scar was the nickname she gave Azra when Scar took over.

"What do you want, Shenzi?" Simba asked as Nala untied him. "Revenge. We were all wrongfully imprisoned for something we didn't do and this land was supposed to be ours." Shenzi said angrily. "You chose to assist Scar in his takeover of the nation and this land belongs the people not just one person or a specific group. We're a democracy, you know." Simba said wisely.

"Whatever. My people have been persecuted since the beginning of this country and it will never change." Shenzi growled. "Doing this won't change anything either. The people always find a way to rise up against evil. Know that." Simba told her. "Ugh, let's quit with the chitchat and get to fightin'!" Banzai yelled. "Agreed. Let 'em have it boys!" Shenzi shouted. The enemy opened fire with their rifles and destroyed anything in their path.

"Get down!" Nala screamed and everyone but the enemy scrambled behind Simba's desk. "What now?" Azra yelled over the noise. "I don't know! Fight back I guess!" Nala yelled back. So they all pulled out their rifles and fired back, ducking when necessary. Azra looked around and got an idea. "Tojo! Cover me!" She shouted. They both jumped out of their cover and Tojo opened fire while Azra ran out of the room.

Shenzi darted out and followed her. "What is she doing?" Eugene yelled. "I have no idea!" Tojo said back. The others stayed behind at the office shooting while Azra led Shenzi through the halls.
