Hey guys! I don't know how I managed to procrastinate for a whole month and then the chapter got deleted right as I was about to finish. I'm so sorry. Please bare with me. But I'm back now and hopefully I can finish this story soon. It has been since October when I started. I really need to finish this. This is not the last chapter but I think there's going to be one more after this. Have a fabulous day!
Azra shook her head as she watched her mother storm away. "Should we go after her?" Kiara asked with a worried expression. "Nah. She'll get over herself eventually." Kovu said and put an arm around her. Simba turned to Kovu. "Kovu, I was wrong. You do belong here. Let's go home. All of us." Simba decided.
Everyone made their way back to the palace and when they arrived, the royal family, Kovu, Vitani, Azra, Tojo, and Samara went upstairs to the room where the balcony was. Simba was going to discuss his plans for moving forward but a loud noise interrupted him. The door was kicked down and Zira burst into the room with her pistol in her hand and a crazed look in her eyes.
Everyone gasped. How the hell did she get in here? Azra thought. "You thought I'd give up that easy?" Zira shouted. "Mom please, calm down! Let's try and work this out!" Kovu tried to reason with her. Zira ignored him and cornered Simba in front of the balcony. She raised her gun and leveled it at Simba's head. "This is for you Scar." She snarled. Before she could pull the trigger, Kiara jumped on her. They landed in front of the balcony and Simba got knocked out of the way.
Zira now directed her anger towards Kiara. Kiara tried to get Zira off of her but Zira was too strong. Kiara mustered enough strength to kick Zira and send her flying over the edge of the balcony. Zira grabbed the railing as she fell and held on. Azra saw Kiara offer her hand to Zira numerous times but she pushed her away every time.
Zira lost her grip and plummeted to the ground, screaming as she fell to her death. Kiara stood up and walked back into the room with a horrified expression. Kovu put his arm around Kiara and breathed a sigh of relief. "Kovu, I'm really sorry. There was nothing I could do." Kiara apologized. "It's okay. It wasn't your fault. Zira did it to herself." Kovu reassured her.
Simba sighed. "We should probably go outside. There are some people from the Outlands still out there and I don't know how they're going to feel about seeing Zira falling from the balcony." He suggested. Everyone agreed and followed him downstairs. Outside there was a crowd of soldiers, palace staff members, and former Outlanders gathered. They looked so confused and the Outlanders looked horrified.
Simba stepped forward. "I know what this looks like but I assure you that this was not done intentionally. I planned to address the nation this evening with plans for moving forward and then I planned to go find Zira and reason with her but she snuck inside the palace and tried to kill me again. She ended up killing herself in the process. It's very sad but I think we are all better off." Simba told the crowd. They all nodded in agreement.
Kovu spoke up. "I would like to say something on behalf of myself, Vitani, and our people. We promise that there will be no more violence or disputes caused by us. We only ask that the Pridelands accepts us and that things will be peaceful from now on." Simba nodded. "It will be. Peace is the only thing that can bring us together." He said firmly.
The next day
"And that's how Scar got his scar." Azra told her siblings. They were having dinner at her house that evening. "Wow. That's messed up." Kovu said as he took a bite of pasta. "Mom told us he got it in battle. She was such a liar." Vitani said with a sigh. "Well she lied to you about me." Azra pointed out. "Yeah. How did you know about Azra but I didn't?" Vitani asked Kovu.
"During some last minute training before the big plan unfolded, Mom told me about Azra and said not to tell anyone else. I guess she didn't want us knowing so we didn't ask questions or get any ideas." Kovu explained. Azra shook her head.
"Scar wasn't like this was he?" Vitani asked. "No not at all. He wasn't around sometimes. The majority of the time I saw him was when he was completely hammered. If he got mad at me or Nuka, he just yelled. He never hit us. Zira was worse." Azra recalled. "I'm just glad this is all over. The fighting has stopped. I'm going to marry the most beautiful girl in the world and I'm going to be king one day. I never ever imagined that this would happen." Kovu said gleefully.
Vitani chuckled. "Don't get too far ahead of yourself yet. Enjoy being a teen while you still can." She advised. Kovu nodded. The three of them continued to converse and enjoy the evening with each other. The siblings were united once again.
