Consequences of Cruelty

Note: I would like to thank Phoedra135 for the idea of the one who altered the orders to face the consequences from his prank from more than the removal of the academy to facing his parents. Any ideas send them over.

Third POV

Hibachi was sitting at the table with his parents who were red in the face, especially his father who was furious at his son for altering the orders which was a serious crime and his father was furious. "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW CLOSE I WAS TO BEING DEMOTED LET ALONE DISHOABLY DISCHARGED" he roared at Hibachi. "But dad no one wanted her here and no one liked her anyway" Hibachi tried to explain. "AND DOES THAT EXCUESE THE FACT YOU ALTERED THE HOKAGE'S ORDERS?!" he shouted angrily at him. "It is true some of the blame lies on me since I left that scroll out in the open but you should have left it alone" he added rather sternly. "Do you realize I could have been punished more less executed" Hibachi's father added. "Executed" Hibachi replied nervously.

Hibachi's father glared at him "you did not think about it did you? Now your mother and I have decided we are not going to appeal to Lord Hokage about allowing you to return to the academy as it is clear to the both of us and Lord Hokage you are unfit to be a shinobi, you are to never see those boys who you called friends again. You are to go to civilian school instead, you are to stay in the house with the exception of going to school until we can trust you again. If Ran Uzumaki ever returns you are to stay away from her, now go to your room" his father said.

Hibachi left to his room without a word knowing his actions costed him his chances to be a ninja and to make his father proud and now he was regretting altering the orders now.

At the Hokage's Tower

Third POV

Hiruzen Sarutobi kept hoping Ran was found alive and he knew he failed her, she was dying and it was all his fault. She had trust issues and when he saw her eyes there was nearly no life in them. When he read the journal Iruka had given him he understood. 'This is not what Minato and Kushina wanted' he lamented. 'Ran I'm sorry' he thought. He was partly to blame knowing he status as a Jinchūriki was leaked causing her to suffer the consequences. Ran did not deserve this fate; she was a victim and now because of the cruelty she might be lost forever.

That changed when he got a message from the Mountain Village 'Young Ran Uzumaki is here in the Village Hidden in the Mountain. She was malnourished, nearly froze to death and currently in medical care. She was in a coma for nearly a week due to a lack of nutrients because of your ninja failing to protect her. So far is recovering, a couple has made the decision to adopt her to give Ran a far better life. This was choice I let her make. You are welcome to come to talk but I have decreed you and your escort are not to come near her. Signed Hikari Fuyu, Third Yamanokage.

Hiruzen Sarutobi's POV

"Ran is there, at the mountain village" I said to myself in shock, knowing she managed to get that far. I wanted to talk to the Mountain Shadow at once so I made the time to go there myself and when the sign ups came Iruka and Kakashi were on the list as an escort. "So, she's alive after all" I said to myself. I know Ran is may not want to see anyone from the village again because she made her choice and it would be wrong of me to force her back.

Mountain Village

Third POV

Ran was currently examined by her uncle Tsutomu Fuyu "well so far the progress is going slowly Ran" he said as he examined her. She didn't respond, mostly the Hidden Leaf doctors would make up all sorts of excuses to not treat her even if she had a terrible infection. Akane came to escort her soon to be niece back to her room. "I know recovery is long youngling but soon you will be allowed to go home to your parents" she said to her as she helped her to her bed.

When Ran entered she noticed gifts on the desk which left her confused and unsure of what to do after all no one showed that much care towards her. Kumi soon entered "those are for you little Orchid and your father and I have already sent thank you notes to our comrades and who you will be going to classes with" Kumi said.

Ran was reluctant to approach and open them "those are for you go ahead" Kumi said reassuring her it was not another cruel prank.

Kumi's POV

Ran soon went to the mountain of gifts, 'her recovery is going to be long' I thought as she opened them to find books, scrolls, tools she will need. I took them home "they will be waiting for you when you come home with me and your father" I said to her. I left knowing she is starting to improve and so far, her teachers are looking forward to seeing her.

Akane's POV

I checked on Ran to see her sleeping 'good she needs to sleep and Lord Yamanokage has since told the Third Hokage Ran Uzumaki is in the village recovering and offered to let him come to discuss diplomatic matters but he and his escort were not to go near her. I knew Haruo would be angry about that, plus his younger brother by two years Kenpachiro was known for being protective. If they made Kenpachiro angry may the gods help them.
