Well this is heartbreaking to listen to isn't it?

Remus turns to Tonks with a broken look on his face. "Do you have somewhere I can take him? A spare room?"

"Lupin." Moody growls menacingly from his corner, where he's remained unmoved for the entire painful scene.

"I won't remove the ropes." Remus says placatingly, and then. "I don't think he should be here for the transformation; he already admitted he was planning on killing Peter."

Moody's eye spins around; the only sign on indecision on his otherwise implacable face.

"I'll go with him if you like." Charlie says, moving away from where he's been whispering to his little brother. "Stand guard."

"That sounds good." Tonks says, forcibly cheerful. "He's in your old room."

Remus pushes Charlie away possessively when he comes to help him carry Sirius out, but it becomes clear that his help was unneeded regardless; Sirius is barely heavier than a child would be.

Remus lies his friend in bed tenderly, and loosens the ropes as much as he feels able; honestly he isn't sure Sirius is even aware of them.

"You should take Prongs a blanket." Sirius whispers. "He was so cold."

Remus shivers. "Just rest Padfoot. It'll all be better when you wake up."
