Anon asked: Looking at your backround (on Tumblr), seeing how the animators even drew Azula's collar bone showing through her robe is probably the "PG-est" way to emphasize that she's completely nude under there.
Azula has a TON of scenes that just scream "The animators/writers were horny that day", especially in book 3. She did always look pretty, but that was the season where you could totally tell the people making the show had seen the porn parodies.
Zuko could have confronted Azula about lying to Ozai at literally any time of the way, and she could be wearing anything. They chose to make Zuko come to her bedroom, at night, for a "confrontation" that Azula getting way too close and way too touchy, while having no make up on and wearing nothing but a robe. Add in Grey purring her lines and it feels like Azula is two seconds away from just dragging Zuko to her bed.
The Beach was basically "Fanservice - the episode." In Nightmares and Daydreams we have yet another "peculiar" choice made by the show where, instead of have Zuko confront Azula about the meeting while she's having a meal, or reading a book, or talking to Ty Lee, or ordering servants around, or practicing her lightningbending, or doing literally anything else, they decided to have Zuko walking in on her SPA day, when she's once again wearing nothing but a robe, no make up, and is being pampered by nameless girls while Zuko is just… watching it happen. Again, that was a choice. Seriously, in The Southern Raiders they made her look so hot while falling off a cliff that it killed any possibility of me growing up to be straight.
In the four-part-finale, Azula spent an entire episodewearing just that goddamn robe. The animators made sure to remind us yet again that she has a bunch of girls cleaning her up and the foot-fetish crowd was thrown a bone. We saw her with hair down and a giant wall of blue fire burning behind her and making her look awesome and hot. Even when she's talking to her hallucination of Ursa there's still a moment when she shows just a tiny little bit of clevage because the show felt it was super important for us to remember that, yes, if not for that piece of red fabric, she'd be fully naked.
If we had gotten a season four, we'd have probably seen her wearing some very, ahem, "fitting" prison/hospital clothes, and maybe even a "parallel between her and Iroh" by having Zuko walking in on her bathing on a hot-spring, either in a bikini or with the fog hiding her boobs (though I wouldn't be surprised if that was what the Nightmares And Daydreams scene was originally meant to be, and Nickelodeon told them to tone it the fuck down)
