The whole time Tamu impatiently waits for the others to return from the mission, pacing in front of the time machine back and forth almost like crazy, minutes may have passed, but to her it feels more like hours. So many things could go wrong during all of this that one single mistake can overturn everything the team is desperately working so hard to achieve for not just their planet but for all others. She continues to keep glancing towards the mechanisms powering the system, checking over and over every couple of seconds for any signs of life. The moment they do will be the signal that everyone is returning, whether or successful or not she just has to wait and see.
Finally the wait is over.
Suddenly the machine powers to life and Tamu leaps backward in order to leave plenty of room should something occur where it blows up in her face.
Fortunately none of that is the case.
A brief flash of light appears and then Tamu is no longer alone.
The platform is filled once more by other occupants standing in a circle while facing each other and some of their hands held promising results of retrieving what they set out to acquire.
Gasping as she rushed up the steps to greet and check on their wellbeing, Tamu said "Oh thank Bast!"
As the machine powers down all of the suits the entire team wore for safety reasons when traveling through the quantum realm retract, returning inside the time travel devices latched onto everyone's wrists.
"Did we get them all," said Bruce, anxiously scanning his eyes over all personnel in order to correctly make sure each team has managed to retrieve what they were supposed to in their collective assignments.
Grinning in a mixture of disbelief and amazement, holding the contained Power Stone in his armored hand, Rhodey said "You're telling me this actually worked?"
As the others are conversing with each other Tamu almost immediately notices something isn't quite right as soon as she begins to do a headcount.
Someone is missing and judging by the devastated and absolute despair filled and grief stricken expression literally overpowering Clint's face Tamu learns exactly who it is.
Face paling, swallowing a heavy lump that has grown in her throat, raising her voice slightly to get everyone's attention, Tamu said "Guys…not everyone is here."
That immediately gets everyone to shut up upon realizing not everyone has come out unscathed from this mission. Not all is a success.
Clint can't take it. He collapses onto his knees, tears now freely streaming down his usual composed and stone hard face since the Snap.
"Clint, where's Nat," said Bruce.
But there's actually no true need to ask. A sinking feeling hits all of them as the answer slams them all head-on in the gut. All at once the high everyone was feeling upon acquiring all the Stones where the entire process once appeared impossible now vanishes entirely.
A heartbroken Bruce punches his fist through the floor as Tamu places a hand over her lips to hold back a sob.
Natasha is gone.
She's not coming back.
There's much argument on what to do about her fate as reality sets in. Clint informs them all of what occurred. For possession of the Soul Stone a sacrifice needed to be made. Natasha made sure it was her instead of Clint when he went to make the jump. Something he's blaming himself heavily for now. But it can't be undone, making everyone else reluctantly accept the fact.
But there is something that can be done to make sure her noble sacrifice isn't forgotten. As Bruce says to them they have to make it worth it.
They can still bring everyone back.
Bruce, Rocket, and Tony set right to work on creating an armored glove resembling one Thanos used in the past that is powerful enough to withstand the Infinity Stones combined energy blast once they do a reverse Snap.
As this is happening and everyone else is distracted Tamu can't help but notice something is off with Nebula. At the same time everyone is mobilizing in the lab in full combative gear in case something should go wrong Nebula is deliberately heading in the opposite direction towards where the still active time machine still stands.
Narrowing her eyes in suspicion in this abrupt change in behavior Tamu discreetly trails Nebula from behind all the while powering up her vibranium weapons.
