Evil's first touches
In a dark room, on a gloomy night of May, a demon entered. Of course, he had a humanoid appearance, but the grey color of his sunken skin, his face which betrayed no emotions of any kind, but only cruelty, his clawed and bloodied hands, his black horns, and dark-red eyes could only prove that he was no human. He stepped further, also proving that he could see perfectly well in the impenetrably dark room, holding a dead body of a child in one hand, and his poor victim's heart in the other.
The room was empty except for the large satanic star drawn on the floor, seemingly in blood, which was encircled and had many runes on it's outlines. He knelt in the middle, and placed on either sides of himself the two objects he had been carrying. As he whispered words in an unknown tongue, but seemingly complex, the corners of the star erupted in red, hellish flames. When he finished, the hole circle burst into flames, but not affecting the summoner. The demon then said in a croaky and cold voice, with his hands raised:
"I summon thee alien being,
Who has plagued the town of Derry
For tens of thousands of decades,
Pennywise, I summon thee,
To walk among the living once more,
To terrorize and devour what they hold dear."
For a few moments, nothing happened, but then the demon's hands burst aflame, and on the wall, flames started to draw a large circle, which revealed inside it what looked like a sewer filled with lava. Suddenly, clawed rotten hands came out and distant children's laughter burst out distantly. Also, a phrase was being repeated by the same voices, seemingly joyfully: "You'll float too, you'll do too if you come with us!". As the children laughed, a human shape was making it's appearance out of the portal, then forming itself into a clown, with orange short hair and dressed in a grey outfit. After he fully came out, the portal closed and the kids' laughter died away. The clown smiled horribly, showing yellowed teeth, and snatched the child's body, devouring it. After it finished, the summoner rose and gave him a cold stare. The summoned one then bowed to him, and spoke:
"I thank you for summoning me... I was getting quite hungry not going to lie", and chuckled evilly.
The demon answered in a cold and unfeeling voice:
"Yes, yes. Now I think you know that I used my powers you out of hell for a reason."
"And I'm dying to hear it."
"I shall teleport you to a place called Jasper Park, in Alberta, Canada. There you shall feed yourself on wolves, and the rangers that lie there."
"And that is the whole reason that you have brought me back?"
"No. After some time, which could even be years, a certain group will show up.."
"Children?" asked the clown excitedly.
"Don't interrupt me. They are adults. But that doesn't matter. They shall be your primary target once they decide to come. And do not underestimate them, clown. They are quite powerful, for they are quite skilled fighters and wielders of magic."
"Very well. I shall find a way around those, don't you worry", responded the clown chuckling.
"Good. Anything else you wish to say before you go and start your mission?"
"Actually, yes." He gave him a red balloon. "Pop this, and I shall be by your side at once, master." said the clown cheerfully.
"Very well. We shall see each other soon, probably."
The alien answered chuckling mysteriously:
"I can't wait..."
The demon raised his hand, recited an incantation, while making signs in mid-air, and when he finished, the clown disappeared, engulfed by fire.
Pennywise opened his eyes and looked around him, and realized he was in a forest. He morphed into a spider, and climbed a high tree. He spied a cave a bit more isolated, that had two rocks in front, which resembled teeth. He smiled and went quickly towards it. Inside it was cold and slightly damp. When he arrived, he switched his form to a mole, and started digging vigorously. After he had made an entire system of long tunnels, which led to a large underground cave which he found. "I have quite outdid myself" he thought, chuckling. He surfaced, turned into a bat, and scouted the surroundings. He eyed a pack of wolves, and saw multiple pups. After he saw a ranger walking through the forest. He laughed silently and went back to his cave.
Pennywise morphed back into his clown form and started trying to psychically manipulate the adult wolves, but found out he couldn't make them distance themselves from their pups. "This is going to be more interesting than I thought... I should probably rid myself of any humans first... But ah, I mustn't forget..." He raised his hand and cast a spell. Over the city next-door, a fog clambered down from the sky, all over the city, and suddenly, it disappeared. The clown smiled evilly and then started sneaking in the direction of the still unsuspecting ranger that was unlucky enough to be his target...
The ranger was thinking about his wife, which died in a car crash an year ago. He survived it, but still lived with the guilt that he could've prevented it somehow, by not respecting the traffic rules, by foreseeing the speed which that car would be coming with, anything. But he did nothing to try and prevent it. The towering trees made a pleasant shade upon the man as he walked with a brisk step over the emerald-green grass. Lost in thought, he didn't notice first the quiet rustling of bushes around him. But he was snapped out of his thoughts when he tripped over something and fell. As he got up and cursed, he only saw that it wasn't a branch but what it looked like a hand, which terrified him. He blinked and it disappeared.
"What the hell, am I seeing shit?" he said out loud.
A chuckle answered him, which sent shivers down his spine.
"No! This isn't real. THIS ISN'T REAL!" he shouted.
Then he heard a woman's brittle voice behind him.
"Am I not real enough for you, John?"
He turned around, his eyes wide as saucers.
"Betty...? How can it be...? You died..."
"I did, and it was all your fault. You could have saved me, YOU COULD HAVE PREVENTED IT!" she screamed with tears in her eyes.
"I know, I know! I wish I could've done more, I wish I could've saved you!" John yelled back, tears also sparkling in his eyes.
"But you didn't. You let the accident happen, you let me die."
John didn't answer. He was looking down while tears were running down his face.
"But you have one chance at redemption."
The ranger looked up and saw that she extended her hand.
"Take my hand and we shall float together."
"Fl...Float?"
"Yes. Or do you not wish to be with me anymore?" she asked, her voice becoming cold.
"Y-Yes, I d-do!" he answered, and took her hand.
She embraced him. He felt like he was forgiven, he finally could live in peace. That was until he felt something pierce his back. He screamed in pain and spied his wife's face. It wasn't Betty anymore. It was a horrid face of a clown leering at him.
"Then let us float, Johnny..." he said, then started to laugh maniacally, his claws piercing John further. John's yells suddenly stopped. The two have disappeared with a popping sound, leaving no trace that they were there, except a few drops of blood on the earth. Although, the ranger's yells echoed throughout the valley...
Two wolves who were patrolling their territory perked up their ears, listening to the echo. Kate spoke first:
"What was that about?"
"I am not sure. Sounded like no critter I know though." responded Garth, Kate's brother-in-law.
"I'm pretty sure it was human." said Kate.
"I think we should go and check it out." asked Garth.
"I don't think so. If that human was dumb enough to venture out alone, it's his fault, not ours."
"Come on Kate, we're anyways heading into that direction."
"Ugh, fine, let's go then."
They arrived after a short walk, and they saw the small pool of blood.
"What do you think killed him?" asked Kate.
"I... don't know. I don't smell any other scents except his... do you?" said Garth. quite confused.
"I actually don't... looks like he was hoisted into the air by something... but no creature does that."
"It looks like they disappeared into thin air, the human came through here, stayed a bit, and ... vanished...?" added Garth, just making the two more confused.
"That's what it looks like... anyways, we should head back... We should tell the Pack Leaders about this. Come on, let's go." finished Kate, and they started running back. By the time they arrived, it was the warm midday which was announcing the coming of summer bled into a cool evening.
The Leaders, which were Kate's parents, Winston and Eve, and Garth's father, Tony. They were intrigued by what their children had found.
"That seems very strange..." added Eve as Kate and Garth finished the report.
"It indeed is, dear." said Winston. "We should stay on guard. If anything similar occurs, we shall take action."
"I agree. I will double the patrols though, I want to be sure nothing escapes our eye." added Tony, walking out of the den.
Then Kate's sister, Lily, spoke with concern in her voice.
"Kate, are you sure you shouldn't have looked for the human?"
"Lily, he's a human. Not a friend of the Pack. And what could we have followed? There was no trail, no nothing." answered Kate, rolling her eyes.
"Yeah... you're right..."
"Are you actually concerned about him, sis?" asked Kate frowning at her.
"Well, nobody deserves to die, and nobody to look for him... not even a human..." answered Lily shyly.
"You have a point I guess." said Kate shrugging.
"You know what intrigues me even more?" said Humphrey, Kate's mate.
"What?"
"That nobody came looking for him. You said the blood was a few days old. I thought humans cared more about each other."
"You are actually right Humphrey", spoke Winston. "It is very strange that nobody seems to look for him. But we shall delve into this matter more deeply tomorrow." finished Winston with a yawn.
"Yes, sir."
With that, Garth went off with Lilly to their home, in the tall grasses, and Humphrey and Kate at their den.
"The pups grow so quickly, don't they?" said Kate with a small smile.
"They do indeed, darling. They are all teenagers already. Stinky and Claudette should be back home from Alpha School pretty soon, Runt is going to do very well as the Omega leader, I think."
"I think so too." a cheerful voice has spoken. The parents turned around to see Runt walking into the den, and hugged them.
"Great to see that you're optimistic, son." laughed Humphrey. "Let's go to sleep."
They curled up next to each other and fell asleep soon, while the moon was rising high into the inky-blue sky filled with small pure-white stars, which looked much alike diamonds.
Though in a den, two certain orphan twin pups couldn't shut an eye out of fear. They had been seeing red floating things around all day long, and a human corpse waved at them from behind a blackberry bush. What was happening?! What was hiding in the now dark and gloomy forest, maybe stalking them at this very moment?
