"They're already there. They're waiting for you."

"Of course they are."

"If you don't want to go, that's fine you know."

"And let Angel piss me off the entire time?"

*.*.*.*.*

Arana, Angel, and Dan were dead. A building collapsed and apparently, I was the only one who manage to survive.

Doctor's doubted whether I was going to wake up. They thought I was as good as dead, with the injury on her head, they thought I'd be kept on life support. Not to mention the deep lacerations on my legs.

Apparently the rescue team found me with my bottom half buried in debris, and I wasn't even breathing anymore.

And apparently, I was the one who called the police. How did I do that? How was a building collapsing around me and I called the cops?

From a place where there was no signal?

Capricorn said the police found remains and that the DNA matched Angel and Arana. They're still looking for Dan, but apparently, his blood was all over the place too.

Why were we even there?

Why were we at a fucking abandoned asylum in the middle of the fucking night, creeping ourselves out?

Rather, creeping myself out. Angel and Arana lived for the thrill of it.

Police came in two days later, asking me for details of what happened, which I cannot remember for the for the life of me. They couldn't question it. According to my records, I was a patient with a brain injury, and according to my psychiatrist, I was now suffering from PTSD that was preventing me from remembering.

Remembering how my best friend died.

The funeral had been short, closed casket, for all three of them. Seeing as Angel and Arana weren't probably in the best shape, to even look at, and Dan's body still couldn't be located.

And I'm a mess. I can't keep myself together, I broke down in the dinner table in front of the servants, I screamed at night for God knows what reason because I can't fucking remember what I'm dreaming about, and I humiliated father in front of his business partner.

His business partner who so happens to be the father and patriarch of the Jurener family, had been proposing a marriage between his eldest son and me.

Screaming in the hallways and crying like a lunatic while he was in the study sure as hell withdrew it right away. It had taken a while for my father to explain my condition to him, and assuring him I would be alright, and that this was a process of getting better.

Father had berated me, nearly threw everything in my room, for almost destroying a really big business deal.

Because no one wanted a demented woman as a wife as per Jude Heartfilia puts it.

And he couldn't have me being like this while he was closing off the biggest and richest deal of Heartfilia Railways. No sir, he could not have his crazy useless daughter running around while that happens.

That's why his crazy useless daughter is on a train to Magnolia, hundreds of miles away from home, to be treated at a mental facility.

"Brat."

I looked up. Aquarius. My mom's god daughter, and the one who'll be making sure I get to where I was being sent. I only stared at her, waiting for her to say something.

"This isn't like you. Stop pouting, you're not pretty at all." She sighed, sitting down on one of the sofas in front of me. "This is exactly why you don't have a man."

"I have-" I almost rebutted but cut my self off. "I had one."

Aquarius looked at me, eyes boring into my very soul if that was even possible. I looked at her back. Aquarius lacked the normal, almost bitchy, attitude. Her smart mouth wasn't spouting off threatening words to me, like she normally would. Today, she was reserved, graceful as a lady like my mother had been, and she was quiet.

Aquarius was in her late twenties, beautiful, flawless, and was an Olympic swimmer. She could take what she wants and dispose of it, and whatever she took would bow at her feet for even paying attention to them. She was everything a woman was. And every time I got to see her, she'd often rub it into my face that she had a boyfriend, and every time I talked back at her, she'd give me hell for it.

But today, she took time off her busy schedule, time off from her boyfriend, to pick me up from the mansion, put me on this train, and take me to Magnolia's best mental hospital.

"I'm fine." I said. "You don't have to act like you're not yourself just because my dad thinks I can't keep it together."

Aquarius didn't answer.

"I'm not mad, Aquarius. I'm not insane, I don't deserve to be sent to an asylum just because I'm grieving."

"I know."

"Then why did you just agree that I should?" I asked her, my voice nearly hissing. "You didn't even question him. You didn't even fight it!"

"I don't agree that you should be confined in God knows where. But I think you should see a psychiatrist to help you, Lucy."

She called me Lucy. I am never called just Lucy. I was either brat or little girl.

"All the way in Magnolia?"

Aquarius sighed. "That way it's easier to keep an eye on you. Just trust me on this, Lucy."

*.*.*.*.*.*

Aquarius did not take me into a mental health facility, I was taken to a dormitory. I dropped the baggage at the floor. "What is this place?"

"It's the university dormitory."

"Why am I at a university?"

"You'll be studying here until you're better."

"I thought, I thought father wanted me to-"

"He told me," Aquarius started. "That you needed to be in a place where you could get better. He never said, or I never heard it, that you were being sent to a mental facility."

I looked at her, confused.

"You can't be committed without your consent Lucy, you're twenty one. It's against the law. So far, as Capricorn told me, you had panic attacks, you were having nightmares, and you were having a few episodes. That doesn't require you to be in a mental. It only qualifies you. So long as you don't hurt anyone, or yourself in here, you don't have to be."

"Aquarius…"

"Don't get it wrong brat, you are strictly required to attend therapy once a week. You skip one, I will be notified immediately, and I will personally come here to. Beat. Your. Damn. Ass." She threatened.

Seeing my God sister be normal for the first time since she saw her made me feel relief.

"I… I thought I wasn't allowed to be alone?" I asked hesitantly.

"You're not." Aquarius answered me, and just as she did, the door burst open, and another blue haired girl entered.

"Ah!" She stopped suddenly as she spotted us in the middle of the room. "Aquarius! Your early, Juvia wasn't expecting you until later. I haven't made dinner yet."

"We left a lot earlier than we estimated."

The blue haired girl, seemingly the same age as me, looked at me thoroughly. "Is this her?" She asked, smiling.

"Yes, this is Lucy." She then turned to me. "Lucy, this is Juvia, my niece. She'll be your roommate."

The girl named Juvia bounced up to me. "Hello!" She extended her hand. Instinctively, I backed away. Slowly, her hand lowered, and her eyebrows scrunched in confusion. She then smiled. "My name is Juvia Lockser, I'm a third year at the university. I look forward to living with you." She said calmly.

I only nodded.

"Does Lucy-san like buffalo wings?"

I nodded again.

"Alright then! Juvia will make three different sauces for Lucy-san to taste!" She smiled even brighter and walked into the kitchen.

"I won't be long Juvia!" Aquarius called out.

"But Juvia bought a lot!"

"Pack some for me then." Aquarius then looked at me. "She'll look after you while I'm not around."

She then patted the top of my head. "I have to get going." Aquarius says. "I only dropped you off."

I nodded.

"You will call me when something is wrong. Do you understand?" She demanded.

"I will."

Then came the unexpected. Aquarius hugged me. And the older woman never hugged me in the twenty years we've known each other.

Aquarius cared. She was worried.

Worried that I'll break down.

I was worried too.

*.*.*.*.*

Juvia was a peculiar woman. She spoke in the third person, she had a tattoo on her thigh that I definitely noticed, and she was sweet. So sickeningly sweet.

No. Don't think bad of others Lucy.

Aquarius brought me here so I could still have a normal life, away from my father who was bad, bad, and bad. To the memories that I could not, would not, and can never remember, to the town who I knew looked at me differently.

Arana's parents were worried about me, but I know they wanted answers.

What had happened to their only daughter?

Why were they in the asylum that night?

Why did they die?

Why was it Lucky Lucy who survived that night?

"Lucy-san."

I jumped in surprise. Juvia had not knocked. Or, I wasn't paying attention enough to hear.

"Dinner's ready."

"T-Thank you."

"Juvia has also set up the table."

"Thanks."

"Would Lucy-san like some grape juice or orange juice?"

"…Any is fine."

"Alright then." Juvia smiled at me before leaving the room. She was weird. I found her weird. I looked back on the pile of clothes on my suitcase before shoving the one in my hand in my closet. I can do this later.

When I reached the table, Juvia did already set up the table. All I had to do was eat.

"Juvia figured lemonade was a good choice since the sauces are really sweet." The blue haired woman set down a large pitcher of lemonade in front of me. "I hope you like it."

It looked like a feast.

"Lucy-san?"

I snapped out and my eyes landed on Juvia. She had a worried look on her face.

"Does Lucy-san not find it appetizing?"

"It… looks nice. Delicious even, I haven't even tried it yet." I laughed awkwardly and reached for a spoon.

"I was really shocked when Aquarius said someone was going to come live with me. Juvia doesn't mind, she's been here for years and it would do some good to have someone to talk to in here."

"You lived here alone?"

"Yes." She grabbed the rice, placing it on her plate, then reaching it over to me to pour some on my plate.

"You said you were a third year. You never had a room mate?"

"I've been in this apartment since I was in high school actually. This is Fairy Tail's dormitory."

"Fairy Tail?"

"Yes, its an organization, or a guild that provides us with housing and scholarships. It also offers us jobs."

"That's…very generous."

"Yes, it is. Aquarius signed you up and asked Master Makarov to look out for you while you study here."

"I'm getting really confused." I admitted as I took a bite out of a wing.

"I can take you there tomorrow, would Lucy-san be alright with that?"

"S-Sure."

"They're very nice." Juvia commented. "If you're afraid of people, they'll understand and wont pressure you much."

"W-What?" I sputtered. "I'm not.. afraid of people. I'm just new here." I smiled at her. "I'm sorry, did I come off the wrong way?"

"No." Juvia shooked her head. "Juvia is majoring in psychology, Juvia knows how to read people's behavior. She can see that you are…uncomfortable with the move."

"N-No, I'm fine. Just nervous. I've never been on my own before."

Juvia's face lit up like a Christmas tree. "Juvia will help you get settled!" She nearly bounced on her chair. "Does Lucy-san want to decorate her room? Juvia has plenty of materials she didn't get to use. I got pink, but Juvia changed her mind to blue."

I breathed, which felt like the first time I've done it properly since I arrived here. "I love pink. That sounds wonderful."

"After dinner then!"

Making a new friend. It didn't feel right. I felt like I was cheating on a non existent boyfriend. Or a best friend.

Someone like Arana.
