Huh, It Really is 'Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey?'

Chapter 2

Disclaimer: I do not own Dr. Who.

So, this is my first entry of what is supposed to be many. I've been told I have to keep a record of my travels along the Doctor's Timeline in order to keep from revealing spoilers before they happen. Kinda like how River did with Eleven. I wonder if I'll get to meet her?

In any case, I can safely say that my first outing with the Doctor was definitely…exciting…

When Alex walked into the Console Room of the TARDIS, he immediately could piece together which of the Doctor's adventures he had been dropped off in. Upon entering the room, he realized that he had walked in on the tail end of an argument between Twelve and Clara that he immediately recognized as the one they had had in the beginning of the episode 'The Caretaker,'. Which meant that the Doctor would soon be meeting Danny Pink for the first time.

"I'll see you when I see you," the Doctor said firmly as Alex entered the room, snapping his fingers to open the TARDIS doors behind him.

"When's that?" Clara asked, obviously wanting more answers than the mysterious allusions that the Doctor was providing. "Oh dear," Alex thought "if you think you have it tough, imagine how frustrated the Ponds felt dealing with his previous incarnation. He was always months, sometimes even YEARS late,"

"When I see you," Twelve responded crisply as he snapped and opened the doors again.

"Hmm," mused Clara before noticing that Alex was watching them with an obviously amused look, "see! Look! Alex is here! The Consultant never has him pop by unless something interesting is going to happen!"

"Is that so?" asked Alex, "I was just popping in to grab my Sonic. This is a bit early on for me, so I'm still getting a handle on things."

"Clara," said the Doctor, obviously still trying to convince her, "I just have some things that I need to take care of. Don't worry about it. We'll be off on adventures before you know it. Heck, we might even pop in to see a play and meet Shakespeare."

"Didn't you do that already?" asked Alex, "And if I recall, it didn't go that well."

"Ah, right," agreed the Doctor, "but not to worry, everything is under control."

"Hmm," mused Clara before coming to a decision, "I guess I'll be seeing you then."

Alex watched as she walked out, closing the doors behind her and the Doctor visibly relaxed, only to tense up again as she suddenly opened the doors, miming that she'd be keeping her eyes on him before exiting once more.

"So," said Alex casually, glancing sideways at the Doctor, "deep cover huh?"

"I assume, based on our past interactions, that you already have an idea of what lies ahead," said the Doctor as he glanced at one of the TARDIS monitors where a red indicator was blinking ominously on a map.

"Spoilers," replied Alex, but with that one word, the Doctor understood.

"Ah, I see," said the Doctor, "just tell me this. Does my plan work?"

"Yes," said Alex with a nod, "it does. The town and the planet are saved."

"Good," said 12 before pulling a lever on the console, causing the TARDIS to dematerialize from Clara's residence.

As he gripped the console as the TARDIS lurched around, Alex thought about how much fun this would be. Seeing the Doctor in action, watching as he saved the day, sending the Blitzer packing. This would be so much better than seeing it on TV.

Suddenly, a thought hit him. The Consultant said he could change things here and there for the better, right? Then maybe he could start now? Alex remembered that one-off officer that was unfortunate enough to run into the Blitzer, and he thought, 'What if I could save him as well? That way, everybody lives.'

"Doctor," said Alex, "if you could drop me off outside the school? I'd like to explore the neighborhood while you set things up."

"If you want," said the Doctor with a shrug as he pulled a lever on the console, causing the TARDIS to start up briefly before shuddering to a stop, "just remember the basic rules. Be careful and don't make waves. Also, try not to make any paradoxes that result in the world being run by an army of chinchillas."

"Whose rules are those?" asked Alex with a raised eyebrow.

Giving him an amused look, the Doctor snapped his fingers, causing the doors of the TARDIS to swing open, "The Consultant's."

"Right," nodded Alex skeptically as he headed out the doors. As he exited, he turned around to watch the TARDIS fade away; wheezing and grinding from the Doctor piloting the machine without removing the breaks.

"That's never gonna get old," said Alex with a hint of wonder in his voice. It was one thing seeing it on tv, but to actually be standing there as the TARDIS went on its way?

Priceless.

"Right," he said to himself, "gotta find the Blitzer before he fries that officer."

Goal in mind, Alex began to make his way through the streets of Shoreditch. He had never been to London before, even though he'd always planned to. Carefully took in his surroundings. Both marveling at the city and looking for landmarks that would point him to the abandoned building where the Blitzer would soon kill the Police Officer. He navigated to the more run-down area of the district until he came across the familiar street that he had seen in the show. Alex was just in time the unsuspecting officer (Matthew if he was remembering correctly) was just about to enter the abandoned building and sign his own death warrant.

"Oi!" called out Alex, just barely remembering to adopt a British accent to avoid suspicion. Foreign accents had always been something he was unusually good at mimicking. "I need some help mate! There's a bunch of lads from Coal Hill having a brawl just over there! I need your help to break it up!"

"Blimey," groaned the Officer as he headed off in a hurry, "kids these days."

Alex breathed a sigh of relief, but just as he was beginning to relax and try to make his way to Coal Hill himself, there was a crashing sound from behind him. He heard mechanical voice that turned his blood to ice.

"Target detected.

Stop.

Identified: Artron Artron commence retargeting.

Target acquired.

Solution: Destroy!"

Alex was able to turn to face the robot just as it began rushing at him. Before he could run or even react, green blasts of energy flashed from the barrel of its cannon and slammed into him. In that instant, all he was aware of a burning pain. And then, something else. The tingling sensation that he had felt when he had been pulled from his world.

J.K. Rowling's Albus Dumbledore called death 'the next great adventure,' but considering what I've seen and what I've just gone through, I think I'd call it more of a roadblock or a temporary setback…
