Hi, guys back for chapter 3. I really hope you're enjoying the story so far and I'm going to be including so more descriptions of what the characters look like outfit wise. You'll see what I mean later in the chapter, enjoy.

Serena grabbed his hand and shook it but increased her grip on his hand.

"Good, but don't call me princess ever again". Yuri just laughed at her comment as he managed to shake his hand out of her iron grip.

"No thanks the nickname suites you or would you rather damsel in distress... until I have a new name that's what I'm using" her response to this comment was a swift kick to the shin making him buckle to his knees in unexpected pain, all the while still laughing at her reaction. She sighed and crouched down to heal the bruise on his leg. This action surprised him, she was helping him.

"You're a dick you know that"

He just looked at her but ignored her comment.

"So that's your healing power, but I can't tell much from a simple bruise on the leg"

Serena helped him up while nodding her head.

"That may be true but my healing ability is stronger than you think, but we have more important things to worry about no we've agreed to work to get to the capital and the king how are we going to do that. No to mention even with our skills combined we start no chance against his forces".

She was right but Yuri had an idea.

"True but I know something that might know something that might balance our chances ever heard of Zarc the dragon knight?"

The story rang a bell but that's all it was, a story...right?

"According to the story, Zarc was a trusted knight of one of this kingdom's kings who had four dragon familiars and was exceptionally skilled with magic. For years he was loyal to the kingdom until he finally realised his true potential and rebelled almost destroying the entire country. He used his magic to merge with his dragons and fuse their power into one god-like being" Serena cut in.

"That was until he was defeated by a powerful enchantress names Ray correct" Yuri nodded.

"According to legend their power still exists, hidden from the rest of the world" Serena raised a brow but before she could say anything Yuri cut her off.

"I know what I'm saying sounds far fetched but I know it's real. Ever since I was... young I've been getting dreams involving Zarc and the dragon familiars and in every dream, they've been saying go to West Wind Forrest and save my treasure, it must be referring to the remains of his power"

Serena didn't doubt Yuri's dreams for a second and even if she did that was all they had. There was just one thing.

"Ok I believe you but Zarc's power was dark and tainted if we try and use it there's no telling what it could do"

"That's where you can come in we could use your healing and nullification magic to try purify it" Serena did a double-take.

"I don't know how to do that, I mean I can't use my magic all the time due to it being practically forbidden with the king's exceptions and even if I did know, we have no idea if it would work" Yuri just crossed his arms.

"Well it's all we got and we can train both of our abilities, hell if needed we can try a learn it so what do you say you in or out"

"Fine.."

"Good but before we leave we need to make a few stops"

"SHOPPING are you kidding me" Serena practically yelled at her purple-haired partner. They had more important things to do than go shopping. Also, what was he doing walking around in public not wearing his hood? wasn't he a criminal? Yuri continued dragging Serena along the busy markets.

"Oh quiet we need to buy supplies for the trip don't we" he had a point, now she felt stupid and she did not enjoy that feeling but she ignored this feeling and reached up to whisper in his ear.

"Ok, but why aren't you wearing your cloak? Aren't you a criminal what if someone recognises you" to her surprise the boy next to her started laughing as if she had just asked the dumbest question in the world? He reached to whisper his response.

"That is true being the midnight venom and all but no one has ever seen my face so to everyone here I am just a random teenager walking in the streets" she nodded.

"Also if I walking into town wearing a long cloak would that not make me more suspicious?"

"Yes, I probably would, now what do we need to buy we came here for a reason so let's get started".

The two started walking towards the central markets and started there. They had to buy enough supplies to get them to the West Wind Forrest or at least to the next town, whichever came first. Thankfully Yuri had plenty of money to use having stolen a lot from previous victims and other escapades. They bought camping supplies, knowing full well they would have to sleep outside during the journey, water canteens, food and other equipment and gear the two thought they would need. There was just one more thing they needed to get...Yuri was looking forward to this.

"Now for the fun part princess, how would you like a new outfit," Yuri said as he scanned her current clothes. This was not received well by his female companion who in turn tried to punch him in the face. Keyword being tried because Yuri managed to catch her hand before it made contact with his face.

"What do you mean by that you CREEP!"

"Calm down sweetheart I'm not trying to be a "creep" what I meant is that we need clothing that's better suited to wear we're going and disguises to blend in also if I do recall the soldiers you didn't want dead have seen what we wear so they will use those descriptions to find us" Yuri whispered sounding somewhat offended. He may be a murderer and somewhat sadistic but he wasn't a pervert.

Even he had his boundaries

This seemed to calm down Serena as she retracted her hand and looked down at her feet, he was right and she had jumped to conclusions.

"Your right I'm sorry, I shouldn't have thought of you like that" Serena smiled up at him while apologising. This made Yuri blush slightly and turn away. Why though? He didn't find her cute at all... it's just he wasn't used to people talking to him like this that all. Yes he was just socially awkward.

"Well your right you don't know me at all but anyway let's go"

About an hour later both Yuri and Serena had new clothes and made sure to buy spares just in case. Serena had bought a midnight blue corset-like leather vest, black puffed long sleeve shirt, black leather skirt along with black leggings and knee-high brown combat boots. She also had a blue cloak to keep her identity hidden during their journey (much like the one in the anime she first appears in) . Overall her outfit and colour choices were quite tame Yuri on the other hand was another story. He bought a royal purple long coat tied with a gold cord near his neck, a loose back shirt, white tights and brown boots, he had also bought a new black cloak resembling the one he had before.

Serena wasn't sure if she was surprised or not. Of course, the terrifying midnight venom dress as flashy as possible.

"Really, I thought I was flashy what is with your get up" Serena teased still being somewhat serious. He snickered.

"Flashy, this is the least flashy set of clothing I've worn in ages and if that's your idea of flashy I feel sorry for you" he twirled around showing off his clothes even more.

"It's not my fault we don't have much money to begin with and I can't really afford to stand out remember, thankfully I know the guards rarely patrol today so it's safer to be in public". Yuri just looked at her with a weird look and felt somethings hadn't felt in years until he met her. Was it pity? Sympathy? No... it was empathy. He laughed it off, she was just a dumb girl he was using to reach the king that's all but he couldn't bare to look at her expression.

"Fine wait here" Yuri walked off to a nearby stall but far enough so Serena could see what he was buying. Yuri returned about five minutes later and walked behind her. She then felt something in her hair.

"There since your not exactly on the run anymore you can afford to have some flare in your style" he said walking her over to a mirror. He had got her a pale yellow ribbon that complemented all the blue she was wearing. She blushed at his gesture, sure she had received presents on her birthday and Christmas from Shun but this was different.

"Thanks, Yuri"

"Your welcome I think it suits you now let's go we have everything best be in our way"

"Wait... I have one more thing to do" Yuri turned to Serena curious to what she meant but nodded anyway he could ask later.

Serena had to make one more stop. She could just leave her brother but she knew if she told him about the situation she would stop her. So she did the best thing she could think of. She left a note.

"I'm sorry brother" she turned back to Yuri and started walking. She would return and apologise to him but she had to save her sisters and put an end to the king's rule once and for all.

"Let's go"

OMG, this chapter took so long to write due to school but finally, I did it. Sorry it's so short. I really hope you enjoyed this chapter and hopefully from now on the chapters will be a bit more interesting. This chapter was a bit more filler before the plot so yeah..sorry, Also if you can think of any cute pet names for Yuri to call Serena or vice versa please tell me. A special thanks to my first reviewer and I have tried to fix up my grammar and updated the fixed chapters.
