Hey everyone I'm back for the new chapter, thanks for being patient and hopefully, if I get this done in time this chapter should be early (by my new schedule) btw I might be able to post more frequently when school gets back due to motivation boosts but as a said I can't make promises. Please enjoy the chapter.
"Wait WHAT?"
Dennis smiled sweetly and clapped his hands, his new companions were so cute.
"What do you mean? I'm your new travel companion right?" Serena and Yuri both whiplashed their heads between each other and Dennis, when had they discussed this...oh yeah, they didn't. But he was somewhat helping them so what could they do.
"Yes, we suppose you are, so what's our next plan of action boys? Or are we just going to stand here taking in the beautiful sun and cry over our lack of beauty sleep?" Dennis acted as if he was a little boy on Christmas Day while Yuri simply sighed, he wasn't social to begin with and was working on being better all-round but so far Dennis was so...obnoxious. Yuri suddenly felt a weird sense of déjà vu, didn't Serena describe him as that...
"Well we should probably start heading towards the next town, it's right on the outside of this forest and it's a quick shortcut rather than walking around, what you say guys?" Yuri asked looking at the two who quickly nodded. Yuri waited a moment and started to reassemble the vines and branches to provide a safe way down.
"Ok guys be careful-" Yuri was cut off when Dennis jumped off the platform and jumped down like a bloody acrobat, as good as Yuri and Serena were they had nothing on this guy.
"You guys coming?"
"Yeah we're on our way, god you're so pushy...ladies first" Yuri bowed slightly, gesturing for Serena to walk ahead to which Serena complied.
"Why thank you Lily what an unexpected gentleman" Dennis though he was quite a distance away could hear what they were saying, they were quite cute when they tried to flirt, he had no idea they were dating. Dennis sat at the bottom of the tree watching his companions descend the tree, thankfully he didn't have to wait long they just had to make sure they had their gear, which was taking the most time.
"Ok down, now let's head to the next town...what was it called again? Dalia? Eh, whatever" Dennis locked arms with the other and started walking only to be held back by Yuri.
"Again so pushy, hold on a sec" Yuri turned around and restored the platform they slept on to a more natural form, barely noticeable that it had been tampered with. Yuri smirked and flicked the hair out of his face.
"Remember guys we don't want to be found so we need to leave minimum traces, now let's go" know it was Yuri crabbing the two. Serena sighed, what was with boys dragging her around, usually she would punch or kick them but she wasn't in the mood.
"You guys are so lucky"
Serena muttered underneath her breath, getting both the boys attention but not stopping and not fully hearing her either.
"Pardon?" they asked in sync. Now she was concerned...what had she gotten herself into.
"Nothing kids just keep walking...but for future reference don't drag me around next time" she ended the sentence with a sinister tone, she was serious, the boys knew that all too well, especially Yuri.
"Yes, ma'am" they both let her go and started walking on their own, thankfully with no pushing, shoving or dragging. Serena smirked making sure she was in front not letting the boys see her expression, so they did know how to listen, her boys were learning. Even though Dennis was extremely new to the group and kinda suspicious she knew they could trust him...somehow and now he was a new part of their odd group. Who knows? Maybe having a male friend would be good for Yuri, she would just have to wait and find out.
Meanwhile, a few feet behind her Dennis was walking directly next to Yuri, itching to ask him a question...but he didn't know if he should. He wanted the, to like him and trust him so he wanted to keep his flamboyance to a minimum but at the same time that wouldn't be him.
To ask or not to ask that was the question, Dennis thought.

Fuck it
"Hey Yuri~" Yuri turned to his right and looked at Dennis whose smirk rivalled his own, he was impressed, but why was he smirking. Yuri raised a brow.
"Yes? Do you need something?" Dennis leaned closer and spoke in a hushed tone.
"So you and miss Serena are a thing right?" Yuri choked on air.
"What?!" Dennis crossed his arms and nodded completely ignoring Yuri's reaction.
"You have good taste, my friend...not that's she's my type but regardless you are quite lucky" Yuri was flailing around praying Dennis would stop talking before Serena heard what they were talking about but words seemed to be failing him.
"But I must admit you have guts" what?
"Why?"
"Why her brother of course, if he finds out that you're dating his beloved little sister, plus your history...no offence he might be ready to kill you" Dennis laughed and looked at Yuri to see his childhood hero's face awkwardly smiling, eye twitching and face white as a sheet.
"But don't worry Serena won't let him kill you and I'll keep you safe" Dennis spoke and slung an arm over Yuri, unfortunately, all the commotion finally got Serena's attention.
"I won't let who kill you?" Dennis was about to speak up until Yuri slammed his hand over his mouth almost choking his new companion in the process.
"Nothing princess" he nervously laughed, "I think when you kicked him earlier he got a little brain damage" Serena tilted her head in a confused like manner but ignored them, they seemed to be getting along well...maybe. The moment she turned her head Dennis punched Yuri in the side freeing himself from his grip.
"Hey! What did I do?" Yuri glared and scream whispered at Dennis.
"We aren't dating! Or anything like that she and I are strictly friends dumbass" he wasn't convinced.
"Really? You seem quite close?"
"Yes..she's my only friend and we've been working together for a while, that's probably why" Dennis sighed, maybe he over analysed it, but the way Yuri looked at her seemed so... he didn't know, adoring?
"Ok well, how do you feel about her?" He quit the whole teasing and genuinely asked, he meant it when he said he want to be friends with them especially after finding out who Yuri was. Yuri looked away and pouted then looked at Serena, he didn't know, so he sighed and looked back at Dennis.
"Now is not the time, hang Serena wait for us" Yuri hurried his pace to catch up with the girl who had managed to get a good few meters in front of them and was quickly followed by Dennis. Yuri was right, it wasn't the time, but when the time came would Yuri be able to say something? So he simply smiled and rushed over to them, he would find out soon enough.
"Yeah, Serena wait up!"
"Well welcome to Dalia"
The trio had finally made it to town and were currently deciding what to do, while they were in a rush this was the last town they would encounter before they got to the capital so they had to make the most of it. Dennis wanted to stop and get food and Yuri wanted to buy new clothes... and unlike the two boys, Serena wanted to do something more productive, not watch two 'children' squabble.
"ENOUGH" the two boys froze realising they would now have to feel her wrath, oh crap.
"Guys as we said we don't have enough time so we best not waste it" Serena pointed at Yuri "ok first we don't need any more clothes so we aren't buying any" then she pointed at Dennis "second, while your idea is definitely better we have to do more important tasks first, can you please take us to that friend of yours" Dennis nodded, completely ignoring the deflated look of his purple-haired friend.
Dennis had mentioned that almost every town in the country had resistance supervision, just in case the situation in any of those towns worsened to the state where they had to step in and Dalia was no different. Since Dalia had very few soldier patrols, regardless of being close to the capital the resistance had more influence. Dennis had mentioned that the resistance was slowly recruiting more members and spreading the word of a final big coup of the royal family, excluding Reiji of course.
So Dennis decided it would be best to recruit Yuri and Serena into the resistance so that they could have backup when they needed it. The two had explained their plan and goals to him on the way and it was evident that they would be great allies, but they couldn't do it alone. They also had a solid plan that might finally be the tipping point of the war, maybe the power they were looking for would be enough to defeat the kings 'devil nights' or whatever he called them.
The three had been walking for after minutes until they finally came across a small tavern which was a place close to the central plaza, it didn't seem too busy though.
"Dennis I said no food yet" Yuri nodded backing her up...even though he was quite hungry.
"I know but we have to go here first trust me" the two nodded with a sigh and followed Dennis into the building. The tavern was bigger than it looked and had a very basic decor with basic browns and greens making up the colour scheme. There were also very few people here for a tavern, maybe twenty or so people but that wasn't what surprised them the most.
"Umm Dennis very unrelated but for a tavern...why doesn't it smell like alcohol?" Dennis sweatdropped.
"Well...you see this place doesn't sell alcohol" that's why it wasn't popular.
"Why? Isn't that the point of a tavern?"
"Technically yes, but not this one" he whispered and walked up to the bar attendant with Yuri and Serena in tow.
"Hello kind sir, I would like the best seat in the house for my sister and her fiancé," Dennis asked gesturing to the two behind him who were currently blushing up a storm, as well as placing a small gold brooch on the table. It was a knight riding a horse with a small blue gem making up the horses eye, the attendant hummed and placed town the cup he was cleaning.
"Certainly sir and congratulations to the happy couple please walk upstairs and I will have you served shortly" all three bowed as thank you and make their way upstairs. Yuri and Serena wasted no time grabbing Dennis and asking for answers.
"What was that about us being engaged!? We aren't courting not to mention we are only teenagers why would anyone believe that?" Serena asked. Dennis laughed, oh he would enjoy teasing them.
"Don't worry we had to make it seem like a special occasion to get special seats, there might not be many people here but we don't want to risk it and age isn't an issue plenty of sixteen-year-olds no days are getting married" Serena huffed and continued walking dragging Yuri with her.
They had all made their way to a table in the corner near the window and sat down patiently. They didn't have to wait long until a man with orange spiky hair wearing a bandana walked up to them.
"Hey Dennis it's been a while" he looked at the other two at the table and raised a brow.
"Who are they?" Dennis raised his hands and pointed between them.
"Hey, crow nice to see ya and those two are my new companions, this is Yuri and Serena aka Kurosaki's younger sister" Crow's eyes widened as he looked at Serena, he had heard that she went missing and heard the story of the king's obsession with finding the girls...he had news of a new update that they probably needed to know.
"Hi it's nice to meet you but I think I have news that you would find valuable" he looked at Serena "do you know why the king wants you and your sisters so bad?" Serena flinched but was as fiery as ever.
"No can't say I do, but I'm guessing you do" Crow nodded once.
"Yes and no, all I know is that the king needs all four of you to complete some form of spell but we can't say what type yet, sorry I can't tell ya more" Serena shook her head.
"No it's fine, at least I know what he needs us for...but I don't see why he needs us specifically" Crow shrugs and turns back to Dennis "Also Dennis we have a problem" Dennis paled, he knew it had to be bad if Crow was worried.
"The speed that the king is going to cast, the one that involves all of the girls, he going to be casting it by the next lunar eclipse due to making the highest magic boost" the orange-haired boy tilted his head.
"What do you mean? Magic boost?"
"It's just what he said" They all turned to Yuri who had just spoken up, waiting for an explanation, Yuri noticed this and sighed.
"For reasons unknown once a year on the day of the lunar eclipse our magic gets a significant boost in power, making spells and enchantments that would be almost impossible to perform a mere nuisance but there's one issue with the king's plan" It was Crow's turn to be confused.
"What do you mean? If the king's trying to perform a spell without meeting the full requirements shouldn't the eclipse be the best time to do it?" Gesturing over to Serena but Yuri shook his head.
"Not quite, while it does increase our magic ability the lunar eclipse only applies to people naturally born with magic, mythics" they all sat in silence trying to take in the information, surely the king knew that.
"Maybe it's his enchanter performing the spell?" Dennis pondered, but Serena didn't care and she was fuming.
"I don't give a shit who's performing the god damn spell, either way the king is a hypocritical bastard and I'm not letting him use my sisters for some sort of spell" Serena snapped her gaze over to Crow startlingly him slightly but he remained composed "Crow when is the Lunar eclipse, how long do we have"
"Including today we have twenty-six days" Serena nodded, got off and grabbed Yuri's sleeve "thank you for the information Crow, let's go, Yuri, Dennis if you want you can still join us just don't slow us down".
"What are you doing? Where are you going?" Crow asked surprised by her haste to leave.
"We have a plan, an artefact that might give us an edge against the king buts it's located in the West Wind Forest so we need to get there as soon as possible"
"What artefact? We've never heard of it?" Serena sighed, it would be too complicated to explain, it was hard enough with Dennis...hell they didn't even know if they were right.
"It's hard to explain you'll just need to trust us" Serena started walking off until Yuri held her back "what?".
"We can't do this on our own" Yuri face Crow and bowed slightly "please we can handle getting the artefact but we can't reach the king on our own, can you please get the resistance members to help us invade on the day of the eclipse" Crow looked down guilty.
"I can't promise anything, how can we get everyone ready in a month, hell! We don't even have that"
"Crow think logically this is the best bet we have and what even the king has planned can't be good and what makes it worse is that we don't know what it is or what'll do"
"But the risk is so great, what will happen if we send our members into a war zone unprepared even if we don't know what's happening, I know it's hard but we can't afford to risk that for just three girls" Serena was about to counter until Yuri cut her off.
"I DON'T CARE! I understand there's risk believe me I know but the risk is greater if we don't go, and we don't have to completely invade the capital all we need is a small number of members who are willing to help us save them, please just try" Yuri placed a hand on his chest and took a breath in.
"If anything happens you can hold me accountable and I will accept any punishment you see fit...all I'm asking is that you see what you can do " Serena looked up at Yuri astounded at what he just said, he was willing to do that? She didn't know what to say... Just for her and her sisters.
"Yuri I-"
"Ok" Crow finally spoke up" I'll try and see what I can do but I can promise my own support and here" he handed them two small gold pins, the very same pins that they saw from earlier.
"With those you are officially resistance members, welcome and good luck," They all said their goodbyes and the three teenagers made their way to the exit but were stopped in their tracks when they all heard screaming from outside. After a second of being stunned all three ran towards the window to see find out the source of the distress.
Once they reached the window they saw what could only be described as a nightmare...or for some people a bad memory. The houses were on fire and the townspeople were running down the streets, running from the fires and soldiers that set them...but it situation was even worse.
"Oh crap! What are they doing here?"Crow gasped, clenching his jaw and fists. They never leave the capital so why...
"Serena! You and Yuri have to leave now!" Crow urged trying to push them back up the stairs.
"Why? We need to help and who's out there? All I see are normal soldiers and three guys wearing cloaks" Crow shook his head and continued ushering them up the stairs.
"Idiots! They aren't just guys, they're the king's right-hand soldiers, his devils and let me tell you they aren't called that for nothing, they are ruthless and never usually leave the capital"
"So there's only one reason they'd be this far out, they're looking for you guys specifically you Serena we won't have a time limit if he gets all the requirements so we need to get you out of here, hurry and climb out the back window and they probably won't notice you" Dennis answered and turned his head towards the door, they don't have long.
"Quick we'll draw them away and I'll come join you when I can" Serena tried to speak up and refuse but was held back by Yuri.
"He's right and you know it, we'll only cause more harm if we stay let's go" Serena looked back but reluctantly nodded climbing out the window following Yuri.
"We're sorry, please be careful" both the other boys nodded and ran back downstairs, they had to distract them if only for a little.
Ok, so what's the plan?" Dennis smirked at Crow and pointed towards the window his friends just climbed out of.
"Let's take a page out of their book shall we" the teen surrounded himself in a light blue light and turned into a familiar blue-haired girl and started clearing his...er her throat.
"Well, this shook distract them shouldn't it" Crow laughed at the voice impersonation and ran across to grab a brown cloak, this way the soldiers would mistake them for their targets, what a good idea.
"What to go, Dennis, ready to put on a show?" Dennis as Serena bowed and smiled at his new partner "why of course, let's do it!" They kicked the door open and ran out hearts a blazing. This would be their chance to make sure Serena and Yuri got away undetected, they couldn't risk the king getting his hands on Serena and fulfilling his unknown plan, they also needed more time. At the corner of their eye, they both noticed and flickering of Serena and Yuri'r cloak on the rooftops, they would get away...while Dennis and Crow got to have some fun.
"Hey, over here bitches!" Dennis yelled at the top of his lungs using a familiar female voice, it took a lot of effort but Dennis didn't just take the form of someone, he could mimic them too. His power was so continent sometimes, this way they wouldn't question a thing. They would just think Dennis was Serena and from what they could assume they didn't care about Yuri so Crow's cover was safe...as long as he kept his hood on.
The yelling had quite obviously gotten the attention of guards as well as the hooded figures and they were pissed, to say the least. It seemed that they didn't enjoy being insulted...who would have guessed. Once they had gotten over the shock of the insult they took the time to take in Dennis's appearance.
"There! It's the girl! Make sure we get her but make sure she's unharmed!" The soldiers started rushing and surrounding the pair, weapons drawn. This wasn't going to be an easy fight but Dennis and Crow were confident...plus who said they needed to fight?

"RUN FOR IT!" Dennis screamed, bolting towards the outskirts of town in the opposite direction of the real Serena and Yuri with Crow in tow. They knew it wasn't the most heroic move but it was the safest option, they would divert attention from the town as well the others so they didn't really care how cowardly they appeared.
Their plan was working too, they had made it to the outskirts of the town and the squadron's attention was off the townspeople completely, all they had to do was sneak off and escape...but something was wrong, they were missing.
"Oh crap"
While Dennis and Crow had drawn most of the soldier's attention away from the duo, they didn't exactly account for the possibility of stray soldiers. As the two ran across the rooftops they were spotted but a small group of about five soldiers, all of which took notice of them as well.
"Over there! Loo-" the soldiers were cut off by Yuri who threw a small through knife at each of them, but made sure not to go for a kill shot. Yuri noticed Serena's expression and explained himself, he could understand her doubt.
"Don't worry it won't kill them I used a neurotoxin to knock them out and disorient them later, I highly doubt they'll remember that they saw us later" Serena smiled, he was keeping his promise.
"Well done Lily, let's go" with that the two made their way to the outskirts of the forest presumably undetected...they were wrong.
I'm done with this chapter and I'm actually really proud of it and I got this done early. I'm sorry I got rid of Dennis so early but if you want I can bring him back soon enough, let me know. I hope you enjoy this chapter and pls remember to review and comment. Thx everyone! Also random question guys but what p's your opinion of How to train your dragon? Pls let me know that as well
