Missy clenched the stalk of her umbrella. It pulsed as it blocked the falling shards. She watched as the glass shattered and scattered across the floor. Another roar boomed through the hall. The echo rumbled throughout the building.

Her grip tightened, whatever was out there was powerful. There was a pause in the chaos it was followed by an unsettling silence. She peeked out and looked up, most of the ceiling had crashed down. The floor was littered with glass, she was the last woman standing.

She stood up and trudged through heaps of glass. Leaped through a broken window into the garden. Her feet crushed the remains of a flowerbed.

The full moon radiated an iridescent light, highlighting the wilted flowers and sleeping trees. Am eerie bolt of blue lightning shot across the sky. It was time to move, she bolted through the small garden and onto a brick path.

A pair of stone milotic flanked the path to the lake beyond. Above it, a purple portal had formed. It burst with energy as a creature emerged.

The wingless pokemon looked more like an indigo dinosaur than a dragon. Stripes of blue outlined the pokemon's limbs. A diamond marked the center of the pokemon's chest. There wasn't a doubt about it, it was the pokemon revered as a God in lore and Legend, Dialga.

The mighty roar of another pokemon caught Dialga's attention. With it meteorites scattered across the heavens.

Another dragon had arrived at the scene. The pink orbs and stripes along its body resembled candy. The polar white pokemon was a sight to behold because it was the other God and Legend Palkia.

The dragon was mostly polar white with a few pink streaks on the exterior of its body. The pokemon roared as it spread its fin-like wings. The pink orbs that adorned its body started to glow, as its red eyes focused on Dialga. The dragon roared in rivalry, then the sky filled with streams of light. Palkia launched itself with the attack.

Dialga unleashed a golden beam of energy in response. The hyper beam struck Palkia in the chest, the dragon groaned as it was struck back. The dragon's breathing became labored as it regained its poise. The pokemon's injuries were tremendous, but the battle continued.

Palkia huffed as a white orb formed before it. Dialga charged at the dragon in retaliation, but its efforts were in vain. Palkia grabbed the ball, then threw it. The raw power of the move aura sphere burst ahead.

Dialga stalled, the dragon must have realized its mistake. At the last moment, a barrier formed ahead of it. While the dragon protected itself, a sonic boom distorted the autumn air.

Long tendrils and enormous spikes of a long sea dragon soared into the fray. Lysandre sat atop his mega gyarados. He held a silver staff crested by a large blue stone that resembled a diamond that shined like a torch.

Gyarados hissed as it released a lesser hyper beam. The beam wasn't brilliant but hit Dialga with enough force to knock it off its course.

Lysandre raised the stall, as the stone irradiated the diamond on Dialga's chest responded. The pokemon twisted and snarled as it struggled to fly away. The dragon shrieked and flailed as it struggled with unseen forces.

It didn't take long for the pokemon's resistance, it calmed in submission. When it did, the battle became stagnant, leave's carried by the wind froze in mid-air, and time stopped.

Two streams of light ripped through the atmosphere. They burst through the night and raced across the sky. Both were unnatural, they resembled ships crash landing. After a glimpse, they disappeared in the night. When they did time slowly crept back to a normal flow.

The wind howled as Palkia swept past Dialga. The dragon broke the silence with a heart-stopping howl. As it dived at gyarados the pokemon released another aura sphere.

Lysandre coward to protect himself, but gyarados had little time to act. The pokemon growled and shrieked its body bent with the blow. The pokemon stammered in the air as it struggled to remain in flight. Lysandre turned back to The Time-Space Tower in retreat, with Palkia on his tail.

When Lysandre spotted her below, he shouted, " Good luck dealing with this!"

Missy didn't know how she was going to deal with this. She regained focus when Dialga approached. The vortex manipulator buzzed all of the active digits were rampant. Unable to leave that point in time, she was left with few options.

The dragon stopped then glared before he telepathically shouted, " You're an abomination Time Lord! "

Time warped again, and the vivid colors of daytime momentarily overtook the sky and land. Azure wisp of energy arose from the earth like a fog.

Missy's hearts raced as rage got the better of her. She drew her screwdriver and aimed at the diamond on its chest. The device hummed as it informed her Dialga was at its maximum potential.

Missy didn't heed the warning and shouted, "Release me from this world!"

Dialga glanced at the screwdriver, the light went out with its power. The dragon was enraged, the look in its eyes was deadly. Zaffre light filled the sky and land. The blue light was warm but overpowering. The attack that accompanied it must have been immense.

She awoke to a blue sky and the worried looks from Ninetails, vespiquen and absol. She gazed back at the pokemon while she regained her bearings.

Missy took in her new surroundings. Cactus stood like an abandoned post scattered through the desert sands. She watched the dust as it danced in the breeze. In the distance, the plateaus towered like a distant city.

Missy slowly looked over to ninetails." What the hell happened?"

Ninetails gingerly answered, Dialga sent us back in time, Mistress.

Missy growled as she reached for her screwdriver. It wasn't in her jacket. Disgruntled she shifted through the sand.

" Temporal pokemon," she growled.

The instant she found it she took her anger out on a nearby cactus. Smoke poured up from its dried leaves before the plant erupted into flames.

Absol and vespiquen cried out while they watched. It didn't matter to her. She was going to take her anger out on something, she needed the pokemon.

She could have left, but Dialga would not allow it. All she needed was a few minutes just enough for one trip. Instead, he sent her to this desolate waste. The concept enraged her, another cactus burst into flames.

Her pokemon closely followed her. Missy shot every cactus in range as she wandered the waste. After a long walk, she spotted a tiny town in the distance.

A glance at the vortex manipulator informed her of the date was July, 16, 990 AD. It was time to change her attire. So she snatched her cloak from her bag and placed it on.

Missy turned to her pokemon, she returned absol and vespiquen to their balls. Both pokemon were more than happy to be returned to them. With them out of her way, she and ninetails stepped into town.

It wasn't much of a place. The buildings were constructed from wood and mud. A parched fountain marked the town's center. She couldn't help but notice that shadows stirred behind boarded windows.

Her guard and self-preservation brought her back to her senses. Dust picked up with the wind. Slow footsteps hobbled with it.

Fearlessly she spun and faced the source of the sound. An old man steadily approached her, his staff clonked as it hit the dirt. His brown robes swayed as he walked.

His weary tawny eyes told a story of their own, wearily he asked, " Did Arceus send you?"

He looked at her as though she was a saint. If Arceus, the creation pokemon did send her, she would be. So Missy decided to play along.

Triumphantly she shot at the heavens, her confidence was followed with a proclamation, " Yes, I am the Mistress. I have come to answer your prayers priest."

He was amazed, maybe even terrified. When he fell to the ground and bowed none of that mattered anymore. More villagers came from their dwellings, then joined him in praise.

Ninetails cocked her head, in a fit of disbelief said, I can't believe you just lied to them like that Mistress.

Missy sighed, disgruntled by the interruption. It's not like we have anything better to do.

Missy sneered, the fox's interruption had brought about the question, why did these people pray for a savior?

She set her pride aside and asked, " What have I been summoned here for?"

The priest looked at her with hope. " A pokemon has been attacking our village stopping our caravans, we haven't had trade or supplies in weeks."

Missy scowled with his answer. " That's it!" She placed her free hand on her hip, exasperated, she asked, " You summoned me to stop a pokemon?"

The priest nodded yes, then continued, " Yes Mistress, if the need was not so dire we would have taken care of it ourselves," he began as he looked over at ninetails. " We don't have Arceus's gift of pokemon by our side."

The wind picked up, the sky darkened, then the villagers became uneasy. A snarl came from above, her followers started to frenzy. They scattered as a three-headed dragon flew overhead.

Her lips curled, the pokemon hydreigon was within her grasp. The dark and dragon type would be an excellent addition to her team. She spied the dragon in preperatuon.

She aimed for the dragon's torso, to spite its duel type her screwdriver was useless. At least she had gotten the pokemon's attention. All she needed to do now was battle it.

" Ninetails get in there!" Missy ordered. Fearlessly the fox lept into battle, so she took charge of the fight, " Nasty plot!"

Ninetails body was engulfed by a purple aura, the move would raise her special attack by one stage. Her opponent immediately charged at the fox in retaliation. A purple orb formed between its fangs.

Missy swiftly gave an order, " Dodge it!"

Ninetails wasted no time she leaped to the left and dodged the attack. The hydreigon's wings grazed the fox as it sped by. The pokemon made a hairpin turn as it prepared another attack.

When the dragon came near she used it to her advantage, " Flamethrower."

Ninetails unleashed glorious flames that shrouded the dragon. The pokemon snorted when it flew out of them. It huffed, its chared scales and slowed flight gave away its weakened state. Still, the dragon fought on, it fell into a nosedive. As it fell a purple stream of energy came from the dust.

Ninetails lept out of the way, then Missy struck again. " Flamethrower!"

Radiant flames burst ahead of ninetails. The dragon wailed in agony when they struck it out of the sky. When hydreigon crashed into the barren ground it moaned once more.

The battle was over there wasn't a single soul around to witness it. As the dust swirled around the battlefield she found herself at an advantage. With the toss of a ball and some minor resistance, the pokemon was hers. She scurried to the ball and placed it in her bag. The pokemon's fate was a secret, one that she needed to keep

She had done so without a moment to spare, as the dust settled the villagers flocked out. They cheered in the absence of the pokemon. As they reveled, its absence became a memory.

The priest raised his arms in triumph. " Praise Arceus and his Champion, The Mistress."

Missy rolled her eyes, which was going to get on her nerves fast. " Is that it then?"

He nodded yes, then said, " We couldn't have prayed for anything more." He raised his staff to the heavens. " Tonight we celebrate our blessings, we will hold a tribute in honor of The Mistress and feast!"

" A tribute?" Missy inquired.

" A gift for you and Arceus," he explained.

Missy frowned then demanded, " Bring this tribute to me. I can't stick around here forever."

When he walked off, she peeked at the vortex manipulator. The oscillation on the dials was continuous and smooth. Thankfully the device was still operational.

She did her best to ignore the countless remarks of praise while she waited. When the priest returned with two children, she was disappointed.

Ninetails leered ahead of them. That poor charmander Mistress.

Missy perked up as the group approached. She scouted out the leashed orange lizard. Its blue eyes gazed at the ground. The flame on its tail weakened with every forced step forward.

" Will this be an acceptable tribute?" the priest humbly asked.

" Oh yes, this will do just fine," Missy answered. " I think I'll take this one with me."

The priest looked back at her with great confusion, then asked, " Take it with you?"

Missy glared back at him. " Of course I'll be taking it with me. It's a tribute to me."

When she snatched the leash both children gazed on in amazement. Charmander's eyes widened he looked at the kids then at her before it merrily cried out. The hushed chatter came with the pokemon's reaction.

Missy didn't bother to remark, she waved to the crowd. " So long!"

Her pace quickened with her departure. The last thing she wanted was a feast, let alone the countless questions that came with it. Silently they traveled back into the waste.

Not long after their departure, ninetails broke the silence, Mistress, why did you save those people?

Ninetails had a lot to learn, the sooner she started the sooner these questions would stop. Knowledge was always a good investment, so she needed to start teaching. She had much to learn herself.

It wasn't about the people, it was about power. Not only did I take the dragon but I acquired another pokemon. That made it worth the effort, Missy explained.

This sudden interruption inspired a question, so she asked, How can you talk to me?

Ninetails seemed taken aback, her pace slightly slowed. I'm not sure, it started when I met you, Mistress.

Missy thought about it for a moment, perhaps they shared a psychic link. That didn't seem to be a thing in this world. If it was she hadn't read about it.

Missy pried deeper into the matter, It just started when you met me?

Ninetails nodded in turn. Yes Mistress, It was strange for me too. I thought it and you heard it.

Missy pondered this over while they made their way deeper into the waste. She didn't know why either, it was good to have a pokemon around to help her. She was confident she would get an answer but for now, this was a good partnership.

The sun had started to set when they reached the foot of the plateaus. Missy could barely make out the outpost. Charmander merrily called out to her once more. With a dismissive nod and the toss of a ball, the pokemon was hers. She reached into her bag and took out a pokeball, she gently tossed it.

She placed the ball into her bag the got ready to travel ten years into the future. She wanted to know what kind of an impact she had left on these people. With a press of a button, they were on their way.

The shrills of countless pokemon and colorful bursts of energy marked their arrival. Corpses of pokemon dotted the desert waste. Others flew above and shrieked at one another.

A unfezant dodged a blade of air. The shriek of a starvia followed as it dove after the bird. A fearow glided overhead in pursuit.

Thunderbolts scattered above as a zapdos soared over the battle. Lesser birds fell to the sand in its wake.

As the thunder rained over her, she blocked with her umbrella. She watched the lightning bounce off the tip, break apart, then strike the pokemon around her.

A blastoise growled as jets of water smashed into a secptile. An excadrill launched dirt as zebstrika blindly charged at it. The excadrill horn began to spin while it slammed the zebra into the ground. The pokemon reared up and stomped vigorously.

Its cries deafened when the might pokemon gigalith and conkeldurr smashed into each other. The conkeldurr was knocked back, it quickly got up it fist charged with raw power.

This war was atrocious, Missy prepared to leave but the sound of men shouting caught her attention. Soldiers dressed in leather armor were a stone's throw away. The men raised their swords in battle with their fiery foe, an arcanine.

The pokemon wasn't having it. It howled as it unleashed a jet of flames. The soldiers shouted and toiled desperately as they dodged. Others weren't as lucky, they fell or were flung back by the attack.

Surrounded by chaos and insanity, her curiosity persisted. She and ninetails found themselves dashing over to them. She grimaced when her skirt ripped, but she tore it and carried on.

When the arcanine prepared to attack she shot it in the neck. The canine stammered in shock before crashing into the dust. Dumbfounded by their luck, the soldiers took a look around.

When she was spotted one shouted, " The Mistress Champion of Arceus!"

The men cheered at the sound of her name, and another asked, " Please help us end this battle!"

Missy snickered at this request as more pokemon charged at her. Her trusty umbrella blocked a flamethrower and then an ice beam with ease. When the attacks stopped, she shot her assailants, a pignite and simipour.

The sound of a thud and disturbed the sand caught her attention. An Emolga had fallen to the earth. The flying mouse seemed to be in a great deal of pain. It was an easy catch.

As she snatched the ball she couldn't help but notice her audience. There was a simple solution to that problem, she raised her screwdriver and created an unholy sound. Startled the people and pokemon around her fled.

She waved them farewell and called out to them, " Sometimes running is the best choice!"

Missy had gotten her answer, it was a good time to get out of Dodge. She was uncertain when or where to go. She pondered her predicament, the answer came from recent discoveries. She punched a few buttons, they would arrive outskirts of a town she had read about. With the press of a button, they left the chaos.

They arrived on a dirt path centered around a lush green forest. A small bird took flight. She twirled and used it for target practice. The pidgey fell to the ground at the base of the tall grass. A simple toss of a ball, and it was hers.

A caterpie wiggled its way along on a tree limb above. It was an easy shot and an even easier catch. The two pokeballs disappeared and were transported to the tardis. It was a shame that she could only have six at a time.

Ninetails curiously looked up at her. Mistress, may I ask what are we doing?

" That Lysandre guy really pissed me off. Just who does he think he is?" Missy muttered, she scowled at the thought. " Just wait until I get my tardis off the ground."

She placed the tardis on the ground, it transformed it into a wicker billboard adorned with trees. The sign bore the image of two young pokemon trainers venturing into the forest. It read: Welcome to Viridian Forest.

Missy walked to the back of the sign, up a short series of wooden steps, then opened the door.

" Dialga-" she stopped herself and recollected. That pokemon had a power she had never seen any creature possess. " He warped time. No creature should have that kind of power."

She walked to her control panel. She accessed her data bank and peered into her screen. The tardis had placed her newly caught pokemon inside a special box, it was highlighted in a diagram.

She got to work getting her pokemon ready for battle. The screwdriver made things simple for her. After a few switches in her party, she felt ready to face the world.

Missy twirled in victory. " Not bad for a few hours of work."

Now she wished to test her skills. She had no desire to waste her time with petty battles. That started a planet-wide search for a worthy opponent.

She would need to be at her best to take on Dialga. The search came back a moment later. The computer informed her that a powerful trainer was very close by. She was thrilled by the information presented to her.
