Somewhat regular updates! Yay! I'm really getting on it after that trailer, cause I want to finish at least this fic by the time Dominion is out. Enjoy!

"So, I'm assuming the main point of you two coming is to get Blue?"

Owen nodded, "Correct. Cause she'll run from anyone else."

"She might run from us Owen." Lizzy shot him a look.

Wheatley didn't look pleased. "She better not."

Emily rolled her eyes, "She's a wild animal Wheatley. She'll do what she wants."

"Having that tracking technology will help. Make it much easier to find her." Owen zipped up his backpack.

They all looked at Franklin, who was anxiously rubbing hand sanitizer on his arms. He clearly had never been outside beyond his backyard.

Emily fanned herself with her hat, it wasn't exactly cool in the truck they were sitting in. They were heading for a small control center that had once been a part of Jurassic World's facilities. Franklin and Claire could hopefully get some of the computers working to access the tracking system.

And from there, they could find Blue. The last remaining velociraptor alive. Emily wasn't exactly sure how she felt about saving Blue, let alone taking her off the island.

They rode in silence for a few minutes, Lizzy braiding her hair on Emily's right and Sam bouncing his knee up and down on her left.

"So, the T-Rex would be dead by now, right?" Franklin was nervously clutching his backpack.

Emily shook her head, "Definitely not."

"The Rex been alive since before 1993—" Sam backed Emily up, "—she's definitely not dead now."

Franklin looked very nervous, especially as Zia added, "She had prime healthcare at Jurassic World for years. So she's definitely alive."

"Great," Franklin muttered.

"I'm not too worried about the Rex to be honest." Lizzy finished braiding her hair, "I'm more concerned with running into something other than the Rex."

Emily nodded, "Movement based vision. As long as you don't move, you'll be fine."

"Enough about the T-Rex though. I want to hear about your wedding." Lizzy was smiling widely.

Sam chuckled as Emily glanced at him. She rolled her eyes.

"Is this really the best time Lizzy?"

"Absolutely. We're probably going to be busy later, so why not now?"

Emily sighed, "Alright, what do you want to hear?"

Lizzy grinned, "Everything. Where are you getting married, what does your dress look like. Oh! Can I see your engagement ring?"

Emily held out her right hand. "We're getting married in the museum, and –" she looked at Sam, "—How would you describe my dress?"

"Simple, yet elegant."

Emily glared at him, "You're horrible."

He grinned.

Owen chuckled, but his face fell as he spotted what was outside the window.

Emily quickly turned to look out the window, and Lizzy released her hand.

Spread out before them, was the Main Street of Jurassic World. The entire truck fell silent as the drove ever closer. The glass windows of the Innovation Center sparkled in the sunlight, at least the ones that weren't halfway overgrown.

The truck slowed down as they turned onto Main Street. Emily's eyes caught on the ruined railings of the mosasaur pool. In her mind's eye, she could see the mosasaur dragging the Indominus Rex over the side of the pool. She could see the Rex slamming the Indominus into buildings. She could almost feel the heat of the flare on her hand and hear the Rex's thunderous footfalls behind her.

"Emily!"

Sam's voice jarred her out of her thoughts. She tore her gaze away from the window, and locked eyes with him. He just took her hand and squeezed it gently. God, what would she do without him?

Emily smiled softly at him as Wheatley asked, "Bad memories?"

Owen looked at Claire, "Some were good."

"A fair few." Emily's voice was soft.

Sam squeezed her hand again, right as the trucks stopped. Emily's brow furrowed, trying to figure out why. Until something shook the trucks.

"What was that?" Franklin nervously asked.

It happened again, and Emily let go of Sam's hand, turning to the window. "Impact tremor. It was an impact tremor."

Sam whispered, "From the volcano?"

"No."

Franklin glanced out the window. "Is it the T-Rex?"

Emily murmured, "Maybe," at the same time Zia gasped.

"I have to see this."

The young paleovet jumped out of her seat and hurried to the back of truck, throwing open the doors.

"Zia, wait!" Emily hurried right after her, ignoring Sam's attempts to stop her.

Zia jumped right out of the back and hurried around the side of the truck, Emily only a few steps behind.

"Miss!" Wheatley followed, Claire with him. "This area is not secured!"

Emily stopped dead in her tracks

A Brachiosaur stepped onto the street, bellowing softly. Sam stopped next to her, fiddling with his camera. Emily smiled, murmuring, "Sam."

"Yeah," he whispered back, raising his camera, "I know."

His camera clicked several times as Lizzy murmured, "Never gets old, does it?"

Emily nodded, eyes still trained on the Brachiosaur as it leaned down and took a bite out of a tree. The sauropod payed no mind to any of them, and continued along its route, rambling off toward the old petting zoo.

Briana broke the silence, "Back in the truck, nobody needs to get eaten."

Franklin got them into the control room in under five minutes. While Wheatley's men and Briana set up a perimeter, the rest of them went inside.

Sam carefully replaced the lens on his camera and tucked it safely back into its casing before setting it in his backpack. Emily was standing next to where he was crouched on the grimy floor, her arms crossed, and stance set.

"Are we sure these biometric chips are still transmitting?" Zia asked from behind Sam. "Battery would be dead by now."

"The dinosaur is the battery," Sam called. "They're powered by body heat and movement." He took Emily's satchel from her outstretched hand and put it in his backpack.

Sam stood, shouldering his backpack as Franklin snapped his fingers and said, "Hand."

Claire walked over to a panel and placed her hand on it, "How long before—"

All the screens on the wall in front of Franklin lit up, and the lights above their heads turned on.

Lizzy smirked, "Like a second."

The largest screen displayed a map of Isla Nublar, with hundreds and hundreds of little moving dots, each belonging to a dinosaur.

"There's a large concentration on near the East Dock." Franklin sounded confused.

Wheatley pointed at the cluster. "That's our boat. We've already captured a bunch of them."

Claire's brow furrowed, "Without the tracking system?"

"The large herbivores—" Sam spoke, at the same time as Emily did. She rolled her eyes, smiling at him. He continued, "The large herbivores were easy to find."

Lizzy nodded, "Makes sense. Can you, crap, what's the word…? Single Blue out?"

"Isolate," Owen muttered.

"Right, thanks. Can you isolate Blue, Franklin?"

"I'll need a species code."

"I think it's D-9."

Franklin typed something, and sure enough, one of the dots turned yellow, and the screen zoomed in.

"There she is," Owen murmured.

Lizzy clapped him on the shoulder, "Let's get going then. You ready Sam?"

"All I need is a tranquilizer gun, then I'm all set."

"We've got plenty of those," Briana said, stepping through the door. "Emily, Claire, you guys should be good here. We've swept the area, and you'll get an alert if anything gets close. Both of you have walkie talkies, just in case."

Zia shouldered her backpack "I'll come with you. Dr. Ruiz might need help if Blue is in bad condition."

"It might get hairy out there." Wheatley looked and sounded skeptical.

Zia turned on her heel and yanked a sedative out of Wheatley's band of them. "These—" she held it up in his face, "—are powerful sedatives. One too many and she could have respiratory failure. Also, I'm not as soft and witless as your comment implies."

The young paleoveterinarian whipped around a headed for the exit, "Let's go beefcake!"

Lizzy laughed, "Oh I like her!"

Briana just muttered, "Finally, a civilian who knows what they're doing…" and walked out the door.

Claire turned to Owen, "Be careful out there."

"Just know," Owen answered, voice soft, "If I don't come back, you're the one who brought me here."

Emily muttered, "Real smooth Grady."

"I'll be alright!"

Sam swallowed, and pulled Emily aside, murmuring, "You're sure you want to stay here?"

"I promised Dad I'd be careful." She looked at him, "And I'm not going to purposely put myself in a situation with raptors anymore. That was Dad's other condition. You're sure you don't want to stay?"

"They'll need a vet. Blue's probably not in great condition. And as much spirit as Zia has—" they both looked at her, "—She's got no experience. So, I'm going."

"Alright." Emily kissed his cheek, slipping her hand into his, "Promise me you'll be careful."

"I will."

He ran his thumb over her engagement ring, squeezed her hand, and let go.

Emily tapped her hat on her leg, over and over and over. Blue's tracking dot moved around the screen. Claire and Franklin were seated on two rickety chairs they'd found, the former holding a walkie talkie. That, and the one Emily had clipped to her belt were the only contact they had with the team in the trucks.

And it was making Emily anxious.

Owen's voice crackled through the walkie talkies, "Claire, Lizzy and I are going to track her alone. I'll need you to be our eyes if she runs. Copy?"

"Copy that."

It fell silent. Franklin typing and Emily tapping her hat were the only sounds in the control room. A distant thundering noise from the volcano echoed through the open doors.

"Wheatley," Lizzy's voice was the next to come through, "we're on fresh sign. Wait for Owen's signal."

Claire set down her walkie talkie, and they waited in silence. It was a solid five minutes before Sam contacted them.

"We'll let you know when we're headed your way."

Emily answered this time. "They have Blue yet?"

"No, not yet. But they'll get her."

And it fell silent again.

After a while, there was a very loud thundering noise, and the building shook, some of the walls cracking. Franklin and Claire screamed as some of the screens fell off the wall. Emily just steadied herself on the back of Claire's chair.

Nearly the moment the small, well earthquake probably, passed, Wheatley was shouting outside.

"Cut the cord and let's go! Let's get out of here!"

Emily muttered, "What the hell…," whipping around as soon as she could stand without falling over. Claire stood, walking toward the door, which beeped, and began to shut.

Claire ran toward it, shouting, "No, no, no! No, no, wait!" Emily and Franklin were right on her heels.

But they were too late. The door shut with a final clang.

Claire raced to the keypad, typing in the code.

"Wait, are they protecting us? What's going on?" Franklin looked panicked already.

When the code didn't work, Emily murmured, "No, they're not."

The entire building shook again, more cracks forming. The volcano was beginning to erupt, Emily was almost sure of it.

Emily gripped the wall to keep from falling over. Why had she come? Why on Earth had she thought this was remotely a good idea?

The ground steadied after a few minutes of shaking, and Franklin raced to the computers. Emily unclipped her walkie talkie, "Sam, Sam, can you hear me?"

Silence.

"Sam, we're trapped in the control room, where are you?"

Still silence.

"Sam!?"

Absolutely nothing.

Emily's hands began to shake as Claire tried her walkie talkie.

"Hello, can anyone hear me? Hello? Hello, is anybody there?! Can anybody copy?" Claire tossed the walkie talkie down on the table in frustration and stood.

"I'm trying everything." Franklin sounded frustrated. "It's jammed. Just take the job son, build your people skills. Yeah, thanks Dad…"

Emily began to pace. They had to get out. Who knew what had happened to the others, what Wheatley had done to them…?

Something beeped, and Franklin exclaimed, "That's it!" A door began to open.

Right as something else began to beep in warning. Claire murmured, "Proximity alert. Something's coming."

Emily leaned over Franklin's shoulder. One of the tracking dots was moving through the now open door, and down a tunnel.

Franklin turned, "Where does that tunnel lead?"

"Well, it connects to the rest of the…" Claire trailed off as the dinosaur in the tunnel growled lowly. "Park."

Emily took a deep breath as all three of them slowly moved in front of the tunnel.

"It's the T. rex, it's the T. rex." Franklin began to panic. "Claire, it's the T. rex!"

"Will you stop!" Claire snapped, "It's not the T. rex!"

"T. rex couldn't fit in the tunnel," Emily murmured.

Something hissed behind them, and when Emily whipped around, lava was leaking through the ceiling. She grabbed Claire by the shoulder and yanked her back as stream of lava fell right where she'd been standing.

The dinosaur in the tunnel roared, the sound echoing toward them.

Emily maintained her grip on Claire's shoulder as they began to back away from the tunnel, ducking past the lava that was now steadily streaming in.

A Baryonyx stomped out with a bone chilling roar. Franklin screamed louder than Emily had ever heard anyone scream.

"See!" Claire tried to calm him down, "Not a T. rex!"

"How is this better!"

Emily laughed, swallowing hard. "It's so much worse."
