Shortly after it started, Itachi pulled away, slowly. Naruto's eyes followed him until Itachi opened his own eyes. The blonde quickly averted his eyes, looking down at the floor.
Itachi let out a sigh as the silence grew longer. Just as he opened his mouth to say something, Naruto stopped him.
"We should get back home." He muttered, still looking at the floor.
Itachi frowned before nodding, almost forgetting Naruto wasn't looking at him. "Yeah, that sounds good. And Naruto?"
The blonde looked up.
"I'm sorry."
Naruto shook his head and glanced off to the side. "There's no need to."
The two walked through the arcade, the sounds of people laughing and beeping from the machines covering any awkward silence that would've been there. As soon as the two were outside and got in the car, it was a different story. The silence between was loud, Itachi didn't know what to say, unsure of what Naruto's feelings even were.
Naruto kept his gaze on the passenger window, lost in his own thoughts. It wasn't until the car was in park in the Uchiha's driveway that he came back to the present. He quickly reached his arm out, stopping Itachi from opening the car door.
The raven raised an eyebrow in question but stopped moving, giving his full attention to the blonde.
Slowly, Naruto looked towards Itachi. "Let's," he paused as a confused expression crossed his face. "Let's not tell Sasuke about what happened."
Itachi carefully looked Naruto over, the blonde's face turned serious. He let out a breath and gave Naruto a small, relieved smile. "Yeah, agreed."
Naruto nodded once and let go of Itachi's arm. He sighed before opening his own door and beginning to walk towards the house, Itachi trailing slowly behind him.
As soon as Naruto opened the door, Sasuke ran up to him, giving him a suspicious look.
Naruto glanced back at Itachi before giving Sasuke a triumphant smirk. "I told you. Nothing happened. Just had a fun, casual time at the arcade."
Sasuke's eyes widened briefly before he narrowed them at his brother who shrugged nonchalantly as a slow smirk appeared on his face.
He turned to Naruto, an apologetic look on his face. "I'm sorry Naruto, for causing all that drama." He then took in a deep breath and turned to Itachi. "And Itachi, I'm sorry for not believing in you. I let my insecurities get the best of me."
Naruto's eyes widened at Sasuke's sincere and sweet apology. He looked away, the overwhelming feeling of guilt nearly making him want to confess the truth. He turned his head to look at Itachi who seemed unfazed by the apology, looking almost bored. He turned back to Sasuke, a small smile on his face. He guessed if the Itachi didn't react, it was okay.
"Thanks for the apology, little brother. Now, after all that excitement I'll be heading to my room." Itachi dismissed himself with a wave and headed up the stairs to his room.
It was Monday afternoon and Naruto hurriedly made his way to the cafeteria. He needed to talk to Gaara.
That morning, he stayed behind as the two Uchiha's got on the bus headed for school. His morning sickness was strong and he slept in, opting to take the public bus later on.
He entered the cafeteria and scanned the large room, looking out for his red-headed friend. He spotted him at their regular table and quickly weaved his way through the students to reach him.
"Gaara!" He shouted as he slammed his hands on the table and sat down. "You were totally right!"
Gaara looked up from his food, giving the blonde a bored. He chewed slowly before resting his cheek on his fist. "You're going to have to be more specific, I'm right about a lot of things."
Temporarily distracted, Naruto raised an eyebrow and scrunched up his nose in disbelief. "You're not right about everything!"
Gaara rolled his eyes. He sighed before taking a bite of his food. "I might as well be."
Naruto waved him off, shaking his head. "Anyways, back to what I was saying. I'm stuck in a love rivalry between Sasuke and Itachi!" He practically groaned, tugging at his golden locks.
Gaara let out a snort. "I told you so." He smirked as Naruto just groaned louder. "What happened that made you finally realize this?"
Naruto looked up at him, after gently hitting his head against the table. He rested his chin on top of his folded arms. "Over the weekend, me and Sasuke were fighting and Sasuke claimed that Itachi was after me, which I fully denied."
Gaara let out a scoff, earning a glare from cerulean eyes. He gave the blonde a smirk and gestured for him to continue.
Naruto let out an annoyed sigh. "So to try and prove Sasuke wrong, I asked Itachi if he wanted to hangout at the arcade with me. Things went pretty well until," he paused, feeling slightly nervous. "Until he tried to kiss me."
Gaara's eyes widened in shock. He hummed in thought. "That's pretty bold of Itachi to make a move like that. So, what did you do about it?"
Naruto looked away, letting out a disappointed sigh. "To be honest, I didn't stop him and we both agreed on not telling Sasuke about it."
Gaara's eyes once again widened, surprise more evident on his face. "Why not?"
Naruto gave him an unsure shrug. "I don't really know, but I feel like Itachi and Sasuke shouldn't have a bad relationship."
Gaara narrowed his eyes before going back to his food. "Yeah, but over Sasuke's own feelings?"
Naruto is stunned by Gaara's words, going speechless as the red-head continued to eat his food. He nearly jumped in fright as Sasuke sudden;y appeared out of nowhere, sitting beside the blonde. Gaara's own green eyes widened, for the third time. "Sa-sasuke?" The blonde asked tentatively.
Sasuke smiled sweetly at the blonde before wrapping his arm around his shoulder, bringing him in for a quick kiss. He didn't quite let go of the blonde, instead lowering his arm to his waist so he could keep him by his side. The blonde blushed at Sasuke's show of affection, not use to it in public. "Feeling better?"
Naruto nodded, still surprised that Sasuke was actually sitting with him.
"That's good to hear." Sasuke responded, placing a soft kiss on Naruto's temple. He pulled away slowly before looking down at his food. "At least the food is something decent today, huh?"
Naruto looked at Gaara as the raven was focused on his food. The red-head shot him a thumbs up and a smirk. His way of approving of Sasuke's new behavior. Naruto gave him a half-smile.
"What are you doing?" The three boys looked up to see Sakura and Ino standing at the end of the table, both of their hands on their hips.
Sasuke scowled as he angrily slammed his elbow on the table, resting his cheek against it. He took a stab at his food with his fork and took a bite. "Didn't I tell you that I don't want to hang out with you anymore?"
Sakura let out a scoff, flipping her pink hair over her shoulder. "I didn't think you were serious. Besides, wasn't spring break enough time for you to get over it?"
Sasuke gave a roll of his eyes. "There's not enough time in the world to escape you."
Ino let out a huff, giving the raven a glare before turning to Sakura, her blue eyes dulled in boredom. "Come on, Sakura, let's go. Sasuke's beginning to smell like loser." The two turned their nose up and began walking away, heading to their own table.
"Sasuke," Naruto said softly, placing his hand on his arm. "I'm sorry for not believing you from the get-go."
Sasuke looked over Naruto carefully before he placed his own hand atop the tan one. He leaned forward, pressing his lips to the soft blonde hair. "All is forgiven, Naruto." He gave him a kiss before pulling away. "Did you want any ice cream or dessert?" He began to slowly stand up, already anticipating Naruto's answer.
"Sure!" Naruto smiled brightly up at him. Sasuke nodded once before heading back to the cafeteria line.
"I gotta admit, I'm impressed by Sasuke's improved behavior." Gaara smirked at Naruto.
Naruto gave Gaara a bright smile. "Me too!"
