So, I was going to upload this on the 15th, but I decided to upload today since it's Friday. Also, after I upload this I'm going to be doing final exams so wish me luck! That's it for now, so please enjoy the story!

12/27: I looked back on this chapter and found a few mistakes that kept bugging me, so I fixed them. I look over my chapters before I upload them, but there are some mistakes I always miss. For that, I am sorry. I also added another scene in the middle of the chapter so it's not just a pointless update.

Beep!

"Hello?"

Ruby glanced at his Pokégear uninterestedly, trying to ignore the brunette obviously making faces behind him.

"Hey, Ruby!"

Ruby focused on the screen, fully ignoring Sapphire as she scurried over to his side.

"Crystal? What happened?"

Crystal, not liking the response she was given, sighed, "the fifth person to assume we were in danger. Can't I just talk to my friends? Anyways, is Sapphire with you? I was trying to tell everyone tha-"

"I'm here! Nice to see ya' senior!" Sapphire said giddily, using Ruby's shoulders as a springboard to jump up in the air.

Ruby, not ready for the extra weight, fell forward. He hoped to take Sapphire down with him, but she had already jumped too high.

"Ah! Don't do that Sapph!" Ruby yelled. He was obviously angry.

Sapphire snorted, jumping back, "What? Can a priss like ya' not even hold somethin' up?"

"Of course I can! As a matter of fact, I'll have you know that my-" Ruby's rebuttal was cut short.

"AHEM!"

The duo from Hoenn turned their attention back to the Pokégear, seeing Crystal's ever so serious face on it.

"As I was saying, we're all going to Sinnoh to investigate mysterious reports about the Old Chateau. You better behave in front of your juniors, don't pull any stunts like that one!"

"Yes, Crystal." the two pouted.

"Now, we're meeting inside of the Old Chateau at eight tomorrow. There's a ferry leaving from Lilycove at four, don't miss it."

"In the mornin'?" Sapphire asked. Crystal nodded.

"Don't you think eight is a little early?" Ruby asked

"Quit whining! Take the challenge like a man ya' priss!" Sapphire said

"The sooner we get there, the sooner we get the task done." Crystal said firmly.

They nodded

"Okay! Bye!"

"I wonder how the others are doing, we haven't seen them in a while." Sapphire said as she leaned against the railing of the boat, not caring about getting wet from the spray of the ocean; Ruby on the other hand...

"Ew! Who knows how dirty that is! Get away from it!"

"Calm down ya' priss, it's just water!" Sapphire yelled at him.

Ruby cringed as she pulled him closer to the rail.

"It's Sinnoh, aren't you excited?" Sapphire asked, trying to cheer Ruby up. It worked, kind of.

"Hopefully it will be a good experience. I hear that they had contests!" Ruby said with literal stars in his eyes.

"Oh my Arceus, you're such a sissy!"

"Says the barbaric p-" Ruby was cut off by the intercom on the boat.

"We are now docking in Canalave City. We hope you enjoy your stay and thank you for using our services."

"Finally!" Sapphire yelled before she jumped onto the railing and dove into the water, swimming to the dock before the boat could reach it. A girl ran to the spot where Sapphire had previously been, eyes wide open.

"Is she okay?"

"Probably." Ruby replied nonchalantly as he watched Sapphire swim. The two sat in silence for a moment, watching Sapphire pull herself onto the dock and shake herself dry like a dog.

"You two seem like a weird couple."

"Many of you wish but we are definitely not." The girl looked confused at his wording for a moment.

"What about you? You bring a boyfriend? Girlfriend?" Ruby continued.

"What? Noooo..." The girl trailed off, embarrassed, "unless you count that idiotic Pokémon addict over there." She pointed to the right; however, there was nobody standing in the spot.

"What? Where the hell is he?"

Ruby caught a glimpse of a figure in the corner of his eye, standing on the beach just past the dock.

"MY NAME IS BLACK AND I AM THE CHAMPION OF THE UNOVA REGION!"

Ruby sighed, realizing there was another idiot in his vicinity. He turned to the girl and said,

"He totally seems like your type though."

"What? You think so?" She clasped her hands together in happiness.

Ruby was a little shocked at the girl's response.

"Um...yeah, totally." Ruby humored her.

In the distance, the two figures turned to each other before sending out their Pokémon.

"SAPPHIRE!"

"BLACK!"

This won't be pretty, but Sapphire will definitely win.

"Oh hey White!" Black yelled.

"There ya' are ya' slowpoke!" Sapphire called out.

"Hahaha! I beat ya'! Are all Unovan trainers this weak?" Sapphire taunted Black.

Black recalled his reshiram.

"How were you able to beat my legendary Pokémon like that?"

"Easy, if your opponent's weak."

"Oh, now you're askin' for it!" Black yelled as he prepared to lunge at Sapphire.

Black never got the chance, as White tugged on the back of his shirt.

"Don't yell at people; girls no less." White turned to Ruby.

"I apologize for him, he has no manners."

"It's no problem, besides, Sapphire's most likely the one at fault here. She was taunting him after all."

Sapphire was angered by this.

"It's his fault ya' dumb priss!" She yelled as she pushed him into the water. He let out a girly squeal as he plunged into the waves.

"Ya' deserve it!"

White stared at Ruby in the water.

"Will he be okay?" She asked Black.

"Who knows? He's so girly, though, a little water never hurt anyone. He needs to man up!" Black said with a fired-up expression on his face. White punched him.

"Be polite you moron." She turned to the Hoenn duo.

"Nice seeing ya'. We got to go, but good luck!" White said as she dragged Black into town.

"They sure were something." Ruby said before Sapphire kicked him.

"Ow, what was that for!"

"Ya' let him get away you priss. Let me fight people when I wanna!" Ruby got out of the water, but not before splashing Sapphire.

"Never get my clothes wet!" Ruby laughed as he ran into town.

"GET BACK HERE YA' PRISS! YOU CAN'T RUN FROM ME!" Sapphire screamed at the top of her lungs. She chased after him at twice the speed. Ruby turned the corner and stopped before crouching down. As he expected, Sapphire turned the corner and darted down the street.

"But you can't outwit me!" He whispered.

"I HEARD THAT!"

"It's you, from before." Black said as he saw Ruby walk in, in front of a very angry Sapphire.

"I didn't know you were visiting the Old Chateau." Ruby said.

Crystal walked up to Ruby.

"They're your juniors from Unova."

Sapphire sighed.

"That's how I felt when I met you guys."

Sapphire spun around towards Silver.

"What did ya' say!" She yelled.

"Guys! Can't we just get along?" Y asked. Sapphire glared at her.

"These are your juniors from Kalos," Crystal pointed to X and Y, "and over there are Sun and Moon, from Alola."

Ruby ran up to Sun.

"You're from Alola! I've heard so much about their fashion style!" Ruby was excited as Sun just sweatdropped. Sun had nothing against fashion, but he would have preferred for him to ask Moon.

"What, you got something wrong with that or anything?" Y said while facing Sun

"Huh?" Sun asked, confused. The clever Y just laughed. She had seen his reaction to Ruby and figured he might have been thinking something along the lines of 'why ask the boy'.

"Your other juniors from Unova, Lack-Two and Whi-Two could not make it." Crystal announced. They mostly ignored her.

"Anyways," Crystal glared at her juniors' playful behavior, "there have been many reports of people going missing in this building, and we were given the job to check it out since we are all more than capable, considering our pasts."

"I feel like there are more capable people." X mentioned. Crystal gave him a glare before she continued.

"Beware, Pokégears or whatever devices you may have will not be able to make calls in here so if you need to make a call, step outside for a bit and we will wait."

Crystal paused for a minute to see if anyone made a move to step out. Nobody moved and she decided to continue.

"We will explore for a few hours to try and find any evidence. We should be out in time for dinner. If you find any evidence bring it up with Green or me." Crystal gestured to Green who shook his head as soon as Crystal turned away.

Crystal suddenly snapped her head around to look at Diamond.

"Didn't I tell you over the phone? Don't bring any food!"

"Jeez, she has the nose of a bloodhound." Pearl said. Crystal glared at him.

"But I'm hungry~" Diamond argued.

"The food will disrupt the wild Pokémon." Crystal took the bag of chips and threw it out the window.

"Remind me to pick that back up once we leave." Crystal said as she glared at Diamond.

"She sure does glare a lot." X mumbled to himself before being glared at by Crystal.

"Let's just get on with it Crys!" Gold yelled impatiently. Silver chopped him on the head.

"Shut up."

"I sure thought it would've been scarier." Gold mumbled while walking down a hall.

"What'd you expect it to be?" Pearl asked.

"At least, more ghostly looking. Definitely enough to make it seem haunted."

Diamond and Pearl looked at each other before sighing.

"Well senior, they say a young girl and her butler haunt this place. None of the rumors say why or how they died but-"

"Ha! What a load of bullshit! I-"

Crystal kicked Gold, making him fall over.

"Ouch." Gold said from the ground.

"Do not speak to our juniors that way! Set a good example!"

"Hey, they're not five. They can handle a few grownup words."

"As much as I love hearing you two argue, we need to hurry if we want to find something before dark." Platinum said.

"Platinum's right, it's getting dark." Crystal agreed before silence fell upon the group.

Y walked down the halls next to X, Sun, and Moon. She cheerfully hummed as she looked around the corners. Y didn't particularly enjoy scary things like Moon does, but she does find them more interesting than most things, and they don't really frighten her.

What did frighten her, however, was how scared X and Sun were. X was clinging to her arm like a lost child who just found his mom. He was shaking so much that he could probably charge a Pokégear. Obviously, he cannot handle scary things. Sun, on the other hand, pretended like it didn't bother him, yet every time he thinks a shadow moves, he jumps so high he could probably win an Olympic gold medal.

Oblivious Moon didn't make things better. As she loves scary stuff, her excitement was written all over her face. To make things worse, she didn't notice X's and Sun's condition and was babbling on about all the horrors of the Old Chateau.

Y resumed humming, but this time, it was more annoyed than cheerful.

Silver glanced at Blue's happy face. She was talking about secret bases or something. Now, he needed to grab-

'Huh?'

"Ursaring's Pokéball is gone!" Silver looked around for the Pokéball he had reached for.

"Silver! We were supposed to leave our Pokémon at the lab. Professor R-"

"Screw that! I took mine anyways, and they're gone now. I'm going back to look for it, you go on ahead." Silver said as he started to walk away.

"Be careful!" Blue waved before walking on ahead.

He entered a room to the left of the living room. The shelves were lined with forks, spoons, and knives.

"So this must be the kitchen?" Silver scanned the floor for the Pokéball. At this point, he was worried about his Pokémon, rather than the fact that they were missing.

'I hope Gold doesn't tease me about this later.' Silver thought. Lost in thought, he swept his hand across the table and felt something sharp cut his hand. He gripped his hand and saw blood seeping through his glove.

"Shit!"

He bumped into the wall, and there was a loud clattering noise.

'Smooth move.' Silver sighed at himself before searching for a first aid kit. He opened a cabinet before feeling something sharp stab his back.

"The hell?" Silver muttered as he collapsed. He barely saw a dark figure before his vision went dark.

Oooh~ what's going to happen with Silver? I hope you enjoyed this chapter, as it's going to be the last one I publish for the year. The next chapter will be up some time early next month, so look forward to that (or not, I can't force you to). Whether or not you had a good 2020, I hope that next year will be better for all of us :)!
