Thank you for the reviews guys! I've had the idea for it for a while now and put a lot of thought into it so I hope you like it.

Thank you Chloe for not so much help but the constructive criticism (I guess?)

Enjoy!

Hailey had driven about 20 minutes and gotten about 15 miles away before she pulled over and took a second to think. The car was hot and stuffy so she got out hoping that the fresh air would help her to think, or at the very least stop her feeling so nauseous. Stepping away from the car she realised she'd parked right next to Lake Michigan. It was possible to make out some traffic across the bank. As she stared out across the moonlit water, the sudden realisation of the situation she was in hit her? She had no where to go. Going back to her apartment would mean facing Jay, going home to her parents would mean explaining what had happened, and more so facing her father. She couldn't even going back to the district without walking past Platt and having to explain what had happened, why she was there at this hour, and why she had mascara running down her cheeks. All she could think was that she couldn't be with her family right now, whether blood or police, she just needed to be away from all of that.

She decided to call Sylvie Brett, knowing that she wouldn't patronise her or make her talk about her feelings, and that show wouldn't tell Jay or Kim or anyone else what she told her.

Climbing back into the car to grab her phone, she noticed it was being blown up by calls and texts and voicemails off of Jay and Kim, and even a couple off Stella and Herrmann. Just as she went to unlock it, the 15th call from Jay popped up. She looked at the picture of them on the screen. It was from Hailey's birthday night a couple of months ago at her apartment. He had his arm around her shoulders and they were both grinning like nothing else in the world mattered. Finger hovering over the accept button, she stopped for a moment and looked at her reflection in the rear view mirror. She couldn't do this, not now anyway, and she moving to press decline. Opening her contacts, she clicked on the name Sylvie Brett and put her on speaker. The paramedic answered almost immediately and Hailey responded: "Hey, I need your help." And slammed the car door.

"I can't tell you how grateful I am for this," Hailey looked down as she said this to Sylvie, not wanting to make eye contact.

"Hey it's fine, you know you can say with me as long as you need to," She pulled her into a hug in the hallway.

"You can sta...woah Hailey what did you do to your hand?" Hailey looked down and sure enough her knuckles were bruised and coved in blood. She must have punched a wall or something, she couldn't remember.

"I..I don't know...umm,"

"Come on, I'll bandage you up,"

Sylvie took her to the bathroom and cleaned and bandaged her knuckles, then gave her a couple of paracetamol for the pain. After showing her the the spare room, Sylvie gave her another hug and told her if she needed anything to just ask. Closing the door slowly and pulling her shoes off, Hailey collapsed on the bed. Exhaustion was fast overwhelming her body, mentally just as much as physically, and she had just enough strength left in her to sit up and pull on the sweatpants and T-shirt Sylvie had lent her, then she passed out on the bed.
