Hi guys this is a bit of a longer A/N than normal, so I apologise in advance, but I really thought I needed to address something.
First of all, I do not in anyway mean to overshadow all the lovely, kind comments I've received about this story. I really appreciate your feedback and I really hope you're enjoying the story.
However, recently I've been receiving some unpleasant to horrible comments. 'This is disgusting' and 'What's the point of ending on a cliffhanger. I'm not spending my time reading this.' are just some of the negative reviews I've gotten. I genuinely love getting reviews, even slightly negative ones, as long as they have constructive criticism for me to build on. But what is the point of leaving comments that are meant for no reason than to make me feel bad. And if you hate my writing so much that you felt the need to leave a comment saying you won't waste your time reading it, then why waste your time commenting nasty things.
If you don't enjoy my writing, then by all means don't stop to read it. I write fanfitions because I find it fun, and I like that others can read my work. My writing style is the same way I like reading stories. My chapters do normally end on cliffhangers, but I can promise I will never leave a story like that completely, just until the next chapter is written. Completely honestly, some of you probably won't like the way I'm planning to end this story, but please, if you aren't enjoying it, the just don't read it! Or at the very least leave some constructive criticism so I can make it better for you all.
So rant over, this chapter is a bit shorter than normal because the most important bit for me was the A/N but by fanfiction rules I can't just devote a chapter to an Authors Note. Also, I probably won't completely cover her past in this story, so if you wanted more details on who Abby McSweeney is, then I would suggest Googling her as she is a past CPD character.
Once again, I'm very sorry for the long note, and that you very much to all the people leaving happy, positive reviews, I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. I've finished all my assessments now (and probably failed them all but oh well) so I'm hoping to get into a bit more of a regular updating pattern.
Enjoy!
"Abby McSweeney, McSweeney...I think I know that name," the young girl placed her head in her palms as she racked her brain to place the name.
"You do, she umm...You might heard Jay and Erin Lindsay talking about her."
"Hang on back up a few moments, Erin!?"
"Yeah, well you see Abby is Jay's ex wife," Kim was doing everything she could to avoid making eye contact, and kept every so slightly stuttering as she inspected her shoes. "She cropped up a couple of times back when Erin was still in Chicago, trying to get back in Jay's head but it really got under Erin's skin, you know, she was just someone who set things on fire for the fun if watching them burn. Hey you're quite good friends with Erin now right?" Hailey nodded with tears in her eyes whilst trying to comprehend all this information. "I'd say talk to Erin ask her what she knows about, or at least just talk to her."
"Thanks for explaining, or trying anyway and umm, thank you for checking on me last night," Hailey hugged her best friend and wiped the tears from her eyes. Kim was about to stand up to leave, when Hailey shot up and ran to the bathroom.
"Hails?" Kim looked extremely confused but ran after her towards the cubicles. One door was closed and Kim could hear her best friend retching and throwing up in the toilet. "Hailey honey," Kim spoke tentatively once the retching had stopped and she could just about she Hailey say on the floor behind the door. The blonde detective slowly opened the door, but didn't look at her friend and kept her head on her knees. Kim noticed her sobbing but not from sadness like in the locker room. Hailey was in pain. A hell of a lot of it.
"Hailey what's going on?" Kim bent down and rested her hand on her shoulder.
"Nothing, I'm f-f-fine," Hailey was shivering and was as pale as a ghost.
"No sweetheart, no your really not. I'm taking you to be the hospital,"
"I told you I'm-" but she didn't finish her sentence and fainted in Kim's arms. Just then Sergeant Platt walked in and the door swung shut behind her.
"Kim! What the hell?" She stared down at Hailey passed out in Kim's arms.
"I don't know Sarge get an ambo!" Truly ran to call an ambulance and Kim sat on the floor holding onto her best friend, feeling a different kind of scared to how she'd ever felt before.
