Hello everyone, I'm back with a longer chapter for you! I am introducing an OC that I created so please let me know what you think! See you soon. Again, I don't own any rights to Fairy Tail, or its characters!
Chapter 5: A New Terror
"So, you're telling Juvia that she knows how to bake Gray-buns?!" She was in awe as Mira was telling her stories about her time with Fairy Tail. She had no idea she knew how to do so many things.
"Juvia!" She looked over to see Natsu and Happy walking toward her.
"Hello, Natsu-san!" She smiled
"I had a great idea on how to get some memories floating in yah!" He beamed.
"Oh?" Juvia asked as curiosity overtook her.
"Well how about a duel?! One of your greatest attributes is your ability to kick some major butt, I've seen it firsthand. As we duel, I can tell you some stories I know about your missions, maybe doing the same actions will jog something?!" Juvia didn't know if this would work, but Natsu-san looked so excited about coming up with the idea, she couldn't say no.
"Okay, Natsu-san! Just let me tell Gray-Sama before we leave, Juvia was waiting for him." he flustered, but Mira came to the rescue.
"It's alright sweetie! Master Markov wanted to talk over some things with him, so if Gray comes out before you get back, I'll tell him where to meet you. No use in sitting here all day!" Natsu gave a sigh of relief.
"Juvia agrees, that should be okay, let's go Natsu-san!" He grabbed her hand so quickly that she flew off the stool. "Alright, I'm ALL FIRED UP!" and just like that, they were out the door.
*On the train*
"So, you think an Ice wizard is the one who healed Juvia and took her memories?" Gray asked.
"It's the only real clue we have as to who cast the spell," Levy said with her book in hand.
"I don't understand, why would someone take Juvia's memories from her, but then leave her for five months. If this person is holding them, then what's the purpose of not using them?" Cana asked. Everyone just seemed so confused.
"Hopefully when we reach our destination we can find out." *THUD!*
"Uggghhh!" Gajeel and Wendy were groaning on the floor of the train, trying their best to stop themselves from getting sick. Everyone else sighed.
"How did last night go Gray?" Erza asked.
"Uhh fine I guess." Gray could feel himself turning red again, damn it.
"Well, what did she say?!" Gajeel groaned.
"She didn't remember anything, so I told her everything I could. She got really upset with herself that she couldn't remember, and was also upset that she couldn't remember her feelings towards me either." Gray's eyes got dark, a fist forming. Erza placed her hand on his.
"We will fix this Gray, together, no matter what it takes." She gave him an encouraging smile and he relaxed a little.
"Typical Juvia to be hurting herself and yet be more upset about how she makes us feel," Carla said, rubbing Wendy's back.
"I know, even without her memories Juvia is the same as ever." They smiled in agreement. The train slowed, shortly after it halted the dragon slayers ran off as fast as they could.
"God that never gets easi-bleach!" Wendy threw up in the nearest trash can, blushing from embarrassment.
"Alright everyone, Juvia gave Levy the address yesterday, but unfortunately, we can only get there on foot. Let's get going so we can be back before nightfall," Erza explained. They made their way onward at a steady pace, determined and hopeful to find anything that could help them with their mission. Gray only prayed Natsu wasn't doing anything stupid with Juvia.
(Meanwhile)
"IRON FIST!" A raging ball of fire flew towards Juvia.
"WATER JIGSAW!" Juvia transformed her body into a rapidly spinning cone, which was surrounded by a swirling mass of blades that diffused Natsu's attack.
"WATER SLICER!" Juvia again throws a quick attack creating a single wave of multiple blades. However, to Natsu, it seemed as though she missed but she only smiled and waited. Suddenly the giant oak trees surrounding him broke, snapping in halves, and heading down towards him.
"Crimson Lotus! Exploding flame BLADE!" Natsu ignited his arms generating long torrents of flames from them and hitting the trees in a spiraling formation. Each connecting strike exploded the trees away before they crushed him. However, the flames meeting with the wood caused a few of the pieces to catch on fire and it was spreading. "SHIT! Juvia put them out."
"YES! WATER LOCK!" Juvia created a large mass of water from her body engulfing the flames into a massive water ball that contained no oxygen, suffocating the fire and destroying the trees.
"ALRIGHT! NICE WORK!" He ran up to Juvia giving her a spin, they both laughed with one another until Natsu tripped and fell over. They stayed laying on their backs like that in the grass for a while, just watching the sky.
"So Juvia did well?" She quietly asked.
"Juvia you were amazing! I wish I could fight like you." she looked over at Natsu in surprise.
"Eh?! What does Natsu-san mean? You are an amazing Dragon Slayer, Juvia just saw it herself!" he laughed at her.
"Thanks, but I didn't mean it like that, I meant ur technique; Focused, Concentrated, Controlled. Juvia you can move your magic anyway you want down to the tiniest detail, and with little damage. I'm a great fighter, I know that, but as you just saw my powers can get out of hand and cause a lot of carnage very quickly. It's alright, I just gotta keep practicing." He gave her a thumbs up.
"But isn't that what makes Natsu-san special?" Natsu met her gaze and she continued.
"Natsu-san is strong, he can mass-produce his magic so fast, much faster than anyone else. That is what he brings to the guild, you don't need to focus on control, that is what teamwork is for. You say Juvia can control her powers, then that's what makes her special, that's how she can work with Natsu-san. See?" She pointed to the area where they just dueled "No damage because Juvia and Natsu-san balance each other out."
"You're right Juvia! I never thought about it that way?" They each shared a smile, but soon her face became sad. "What's wrong Juvia?" Natsu asked.
"Juvia wishes she could remember Natsu-sans battles or even her own. She's sorry your plan did not work." he kept smiling at her "Juvia if you want to know about my battles, I can tell you, then technically you'll remember them in a new way, right? I know it's not the same but-" She looked up at him. "Juvia would like that very much." Natsu laughed and started to think which battle made him look the best!
(Back Again)
"This is it." Erza pointed to a quiet little house off the main road that led onto the beach, they finally reached the Taki residence. Lucy walked to knock on the door and after a few knocks, the door was opened by a little old woman. "Yes, dears? May I help you?"
"Hello, a friend of ours was recently staying here. You helped heal her many months ago, her name was Juvia?" The old woman smiled.
"Of course, she was such a sweet and kind girl. Is she alright?"
"Yes, we reunited shortly after she left here, but as you might know her memories seem to be gone, and we were wondering if we could speak with you about her time here?" Levy gave her kindest smile.
"Yes, please come in I just made some tea, my husband is outback, but he will be in soon." Everyone piled into the little house, even Gajeel despite his head reaching the top of the ceiling. After pouring everyone some tea, Mrs. Taki made her way to the sitting room. "So, what would you like to know?"
Gray spoke this time. "We know she was partially healed when you found her, but I guess we were wondering if you can remember anything unusual that day, or maybe something Juvia said?"
"Well let me think, it was like any other morning really. My husband went to go and check his fish traps and I was making breakfast when I heard him shout for me to come outside. When I came out the poor girl was lying face down in the wet sand. Her breathing was so shallow we weren't even sure if she was alive. That's when my husband turned her over, it was a horrific sight I'm sorry to say. She had a huge wound to her left abdomen, it looked as though she lost a lot of blood from it, but despite coming from the ocean the blood in the wound seemed dry and almost tender. Covered with cuts and bruises of all colors, my husband said she looked like she went through hell and back, but as he got closer, he could hear her breathing become more steady. He picked her up to take her inside, I know a little healing magic, so he thought I could help. She never said a word for the first month or two, then, once she healed a little bit she started to talk. When I asked if she could remember anything, all she said was being really cold." Everyone looked at Levy, this confirmed her theory about an ice wizard using magic on Juvia. With her power of origin being water, she was never cold, no matter the temperature, she adapted like the water itself.
"Mam, is there anything else you remember? Erza asked.
The woman was silent for a long time, then hesitated "y-yes, but I promised I wouldn't say anything to the girl about it, he said it would affect her health if I did." Everyone shot up.
"He?" Gajeel asked
"While we were examining her on the beach, a man appeared before us. Told us how injured she was, and that he had done what he could. He was trusting us to take care of the rest. We agreed, but he said we were never to speak a word of this to her or anyone else otherwise she wouldn't heal. I didn't want to lie to the girl, but we wanted to help her." The old woman was tearing up and Cana approached her with a warm hand. "Thank you for telling us."
"Did he tell you his name?" Lucy questioned.
"He said his name... was Kurayami." Just then her husband walked in and greeted everyone, to which Lucy rose up and bowed.
"Mr. & Mrs. Taki, do you mind if we go outside to the area where you found her? She asked, "Be our guest, in fact, I was just going to ask my wife to go on a walk to town, please let us know if you need anything else." They both smiled warmly and left.
Everyone stood at the edge of the sea, all lost in thought. "Gray? Any knowledge about this Kurayami character?" Cana asked, Gray, furrowed his brows.
"Never heard of the guy, Jesus this doesn't make any sense!" he yelled in frustration.
"This person has to know Juvia right? I mean he specifically heals her, casts a dark spell on her, and yet doesn't want anyone knowing who he is?" Carla asked, hovering next to Wendy.
"There has to be something we're missing?" Erza questioned.
"How right you are" a voice boomed from the atmosphere around them. A tall figure materialized in the sky; A man with long dark blue almost blackish hair and a built figure levitated, looking down on them with menacing red eyes.
"Who the hell are you!?" Lucy yelled.
"You're Kurayami aren't you!" Gray barked, his teeth grinding together.
"I am indeed, Gray Fullbuster." He smiled.
"Gray I thought you said you didn't know him?" Levy asked, moving into a fighting stance.
"I don't!" he shouted clearly pissed off that this man knew his name
"He's right of course, he doesn't know, as I suspect none of you do. However, Gray and I do share a mutual acquaintance." He shot down to the beach faster than lightning, causing all the wizards to leap back.
"Oh yeah and who might that be?" Gray changed into his demon slayer form, his arm turning midnight black.
"My father, Invel Yura."
