There it was, in all its glory. Unease came over her in waves of awkward familiarity. She loved that damn Stargate, but coming face to face with it in reality was terrifying. Soon SG-1 would walk through it and not long after that a whole gaggle of Jaffa, and then what would she do? She'd already told Daniel, would she tell SG-1 too? Well if she had any hope of going home again she'd have to. But the Air Force couldn't find out, and the Goa'uld couldn't either, which was why she'd made sure Sha're didn't hear that part of her story.

And if she didn't tell them, what then? Did she let them give her some sort of fake documentation and just go about her new life somewhere in the country, pretending the entirety of the Stargate series wasn't happening just outside their atmosphere?

Besides, Daniel was her friend now…or at least would be until Sha're…

God what the hell was she even doing?

Bonnie looked over her shoulder at Daniel and Sha're who were laughing at something Skaara said. They were on the fast track for a horrible, torturously long sort of death and she was just gonna stand by and let it happen? They were her friends for christ's sake, what kind of friend did that?

What else could she do though? Try to save them and probably die along with them? Tell Daniel everything and know that without his drive to find Sha're and destroy the Goa'uld the galaxy might experience hundreds of years of slavery or more before someone had the opportunity to fight back? And what about Teal'c? If Jack never got captured by Apophis then Teal'c would probably just stay enslaved and end up leading an attack on Earth in the future.

Was it better to speak up and hope for a better future, damn the lives that might not get saved? Or stick with the plan and the people she knew would find a brighter future for it?

No. Daniel had agreed, stick to the plan. The devil you know. But the problem was it was the devil she knew and the paltry it's gonna get real bad before it gets better, Daniel for him. He didn't understand fully what that meant and she couldn't tell him.

Once Sha're got taken as a host he'd hate her for it. Maybe it would be best to just fade into anonymity back on Earth after all. He wouldn't want her around anymore not to mention what Jack would do when he found out she knew what was going to happen to Skaara too. She didn't even want to imagine what the rest of the team would be like.

Suddenly a hand touched her shoulder and she jumped. It was Daniel.

"Hey, you okay?"

Several steps behind him, Sha're smiled at her reassuringly. God she hated herself for what she was about to not do.

"Yeah, fine. It's just…bigger than I imagined I guess." That was a lie and he seemed to know it.

He gave her shoulder a gentle squeeze, staying silent about her fib but offering her what support he could. Support she definitely didn't deserve from either of them.

"Skaara could use some help with the fire, why don't you see what you can do?"

Oh yeah, Skaara totally needed help building a fire.

Bonnie rolled her eyes at Daniel as she made her way back down the steps towards the DHD, making it obvious enough that she was playing around and knew he was trying to get her mind off of brooding. "My specialty!"

"Okay," Bonnie said firmly as they finished setting up their camp in the Abydonian gate room. "I wanna see it."

"Yes yes yes, just one sec-" Daniel waved her off, distracted by something in his bag.

She grabbed his arm and gave it a yank. "Cartouche. You promised." The Abydonian pyramid had been about the only thing to get her mind off of her seemingly perpetual inclusion into the Stargate universe. On top of that they'd come to camp in the pyramid, which meant Children of the Gods could begin any minute and her nerves were already fraying at the ends. She needed the distraction. "Sha're, Daniel's being a grump."

Sha're laughed and brushed back his hair. "Daniel. Show her."

He sighed and pretended to be annoyed, holding up a smaller shoulder bag. "I will, I was getting my tools. She's just being impatient again." He ended with a playful jab at her excitement. "Alright, let's go."

They'd been coming back from a trip to the village, trying to out pace a sandstorm when they heard the gate shut off. There wasn't any gunfire so they knew...well everyone but Bonnie who already knew who it was, knew that it wasn't the Goa'uld. The guard they'd left on the gate would've opened fire by now.

Daniel took off at a run that they all rushed to keep up with. He slid into the middle of the room, right between everyone and the team from Earth. "Cha'hari! Cha'hari! Lower your guns. Hello Jack, uhhh.. welcome back."

Bonnie's eyes flicked from Daniel to Jack to Sam and then again in reverse. She'd gotten herself used to being around Daniel but now the team was starting to come together. That was Jack fucking two L's I forgot to tape the Simpsons O'Neill and Sam I won't admit how much I love blue jello Carter for christ's sake! Aaand Jack pushed purposefully past Daniel and her and went straight up to salute Skaara. Typical. No, not typical. Scripted.

"Skaara." He grinned.

"O'Neill." They laughed and hugged each other. "I did not think to be seeing you again!"

Then with a bit of a grumpy edge Daniel shifted back into Jack's view with his arms crossed.

"Daniel, how you doing?"

"Uh, good. You?"

"Much better, now that I see that everybody's okay."

Kawalsky came up with another man who threw his hand up in a Vulcan salute. "Greetings from Earth, Dr. Jackson."

"Hello, Ferretti."

Kawalsy fiddled with his vest pocket and pulled out a packet of tissues. "Brought you a little something, Daniel."

"Kawalsky." Daniel said with partial affection and the sigh of a man who was still being picked on by a brother.

Bonnie eyes the pack of tissues, the sandstorms on Abydos were a nightmare and Daniel had used up most of the box they'd been sent. She sidled up beside him and snatched it from his hand, using one to clean her glasses before blowing her nose. "Thanks."

He rolled his eyes at her stealing them but nodded, having seemed to forget she was there.

Jack looked between her and Daniel several times. "Okay, Daniel, care to explain?"

Tucking the pack into her bag, Bonnie reached out and shook his hand, grinning ear to ear. "Bonnie Grayson. Nice to meet you Colonel."

"You weren't part of my team Grayson, what are you doing here?"

"We uh...we think it was some kind of spatial anomaly that brought her here from another reality." Daniel explained awkwardly.

At this, Sam stepped forward. "An alternate reality? Why do you think that? How exactly did you arrive? Oh! Sorry! Captain Samantha Carter."

More hand shaking ensued and Bonnie was arguably the more excited of the two.

"I'm from Utah, circa 2017 and according to Daniel I showed up in a flash of light in the middle of the desert. There's a few other reasons but we can go over them later."

Jack eyed her, his stare more than a little uncomfortable and she shrunk back close to Daniel before she realized what she was doing.

"Yes! There'll be plenty of time for that." Daniel said, trying to shut down the rest of the talk about Bonnie's arrival before it became too sensitive. "Sha're," He beckoned her over from where she was peeking out behind a curtain. "Don't be shy." She slipped under his arm and shook O'Neill's hand timidly. "So, I... figured it would be a matter of time before you had to tell the truth about us still being here."

"Yeah." He looked around with an edge of concern. "Why the militia? Something else come through?"

"No, we're just taking precautions. Why?"

Jack was about to answer but that was when Sam found the DHD. "Amazing. This is what was missing from the dig at Giza. This is how they controlled it. It took us 15 years and 3 supercomputers to MacGyver a system for the gate on Earth."

"Captain."

"Look how small it is!"

"Captain!" She abandoned the DHD and came back over, clearly trying to pay attention and not look back at the Gate.

"What's going on, Jack?" Daniel asked worriedly.

"Six hostile aliens came through the Stargate on Earth. Four people are dead, one's missing."

"One of them looked like Ra, Daniel." Kawalsky added.

Daniel's eyes flickered over to Bonnie and she tried to look just as confused as everyone else was. The worry part at least, she wasn't having a problem portraying.

"Well, they didn't come from here. I mean, the boys take shifts guarding it 36 hours a day. Every day. We'd know if they came through here."

"Well, they came from somewhere, Daniel. I'm going to have to look around."

"I - I think we can help you find out who it was, but, uh, it's going to have to wait til this sandstorm is over. Uh, we were about to have our evening meal. Why don't you join us?"
