Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Stone-Cold Hearts. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own My Hero Academia. Shonen Jump, Kohei Horikoshi and a few others do.

He didn't try to tell them everything right away. They'd find that as nothing more than pathetic begging to save his skin. It was why he waited for them to go through the majority of their usual speeches and such.

Obsidian could still feel his limbs, so it was still something that they hadn't killed him to begin with. He still could not feel said limbs, meaning they knew enough about his quirk to take precautions to begin with it.

"Hmm…" Obsidian stated as he stated to think about what came next.

He could not see the figures in the viewing room ahead, but he could tell they were heroes well enough. If they were villains? They would have made a move, and Obsidian knew enough to understand that if they WANTED or had the ability to break out their leader from this place?

They would have done so already. Obsidian had abandoned their cause, he did not desire the destruction of society regardless, but he had his reasons for joining.

Finally, one of those silhouettes slowly approached him to begin with intent. He needed to think, give some small reason to trust me.

"You are the villain known as 'Obsidian', yes?" The voice said as Obsidian nodded, giving a small nod.

"Yes." Obsidian answered as he looked at the ground a moment later. "The stone controlling villain. I am going to guess you know enough about me?" Obsidian questioned with a raised eyebrow.

The silhouette was silent, not giving him an answer. Obsidian did not know this hero; he was not active for longer than a few months as Obsidian. He did not know the smaller heroes like this one.

"I know the League of Villains left you for dead, one of those quirks was flames. I know only one hero with a flame quirk." The figure stated before clearing their throat. "You did not try to kill any of the officers that took you into custody, why?" The figure questioned as Obsidian paused to take a breath.

They had treated his wounds, but had been doing the healing slowly. Obsidian knew to allow him his full recuperation would allow him to unleash the full blunt of his quirk.

"I was almost dead, what would fighting do at that point?" Obsidian asked, still unused to not wearing his costume. "Make them think me a bigger monster then they do already? I do not care about being an enemy to society, the League of Villains do." Obsidian added, pointing towards the figure.

"Do you know who I am?" The figure questioned, gaining a shake of the head in the process. "Do you believe you have a future outside of being a villain?" The figure asked, gaining a shrug.

"I know that I desire to find some purpose in life." Obsidian stated as he turned to look to the side. "Why? Do you believe a villainous fool like me could be given a chance at redemption in some shape or form?" Obsidian questioned a second later with a raised eyebrow.

"How old are you?" The figure questioned as Obsidian hummed, clicking his jaws against themselves.

"17, why?" Obsidian questioned before he started to think about the question. "Oh, now I understand what you're asking… But do you think that can save me? I am or was a villain, many people see me as that." Obsidian stated, letting out a sigh as he pondered this trip.

This had been a chance to recruit him, while Obsidian did not trust so easily? Not able to truly ready to because of the last betrayal. However? Obsidian was not stupid; he knew that things were going to shift outside of his control.

"Would you even trust me if I said yes?" Obsidian questioned as he looked downwards. "I'm sorry, I'm acting like some dark depressing bully. Anyway? Why trust me? I don't have any loyalty to those animals who left me to die, but plenty of heroes have reason to hate me." Obsidian said as he shook his head.

"You're not a bad person, I've heard your only crimes are vandalism and theft." Obsidian heard to which he hummed.

"In their eyes? I seem to be." Obsidian said, looking at the ground. "They will kill me, you know. I know heroes can't fathom it? But if they knew I lived? It'd be their mission to snuff me out. They don't want loose ends, anyone that could sell them out is a lost cause for them to snuff out." Obsidian said as he shook his head, curious as to how to best solve this.

"And what makes you think they'd believe you alive?" Obsidian heard as he paused to think about the idea. "They currently believe you are dead; you were pronounced clinically dead. You have the opportunity to turn this around."
