Description: (Idea came from a collection of writing prompts on Tumblr, maelerie, I believe is the name of the person.) Molly does something she never intended to get Sherlock's attention.
Shock.
A perfect word for the moment. For the expression in her eyes as she pulled back. He could just imagine the expression in his own was the same. Searching her eyes, he saw the light flicker in her brown orbs, and he wondered why he never saw it before.
Her mouth opened and closed for a brief second. A blush appeared on her cheeks, and he raised his hand to touch the strange color. Her face was warm, but not hot. Soft, not hard. Smooth, not rough.
Her eyes flickered in uncertainty at his actions. She swallowed a few times, trying to form the words she needed to say.
"I…I'm sorry, Sherlock," she began, stuttering slightly. "I didn't intend to kiss you." The blush deepened as she described the action.
"Why did you?"
She licked her lips and cleared her throat. "It was the only way."
"Only way?" he asked, his brow furrowing in confusion.
Her eyes shifted to gaze at the area around them. "To save you."
His face softened as he took in her meaning, and the empty lab. "That bad?"
She nodded with a soft giggle. "John blew off a few hours ago," she answered, her hands resting on his chest, releasing the collar of his shirt, where she had pulled to get his attention which turned into a powerful kissing session. All to keep him from drowning in the current case that had overtaken him for the past week. "Mrs. Hudson was wondering if she was going to have to keep Rosie for the rest of the night."
"Ah, so you saved me from myself."
"Someone had to," she returned, softly.
His hand caressed her face, tracing the delicate features of her button nose and slightly swollen lips. How could he not have seen this? How could he not have seen her? "Always saving me?"
A simple question, one that was causing her heart to flutter as she stared into his softening eyes.
Sherlock bent his head, placing his forehead on hers, and breathed deeply. "I never knew," he admitted, deeply.
She sighed, shifting slightly until their bodies were pressed close. "Neither did I."
"Saying the words and meaning them, pales to this," he deduced, relishing the distraction of her. "You may not have intended to do it, but I do."
She smiled as his lips claimed her once more. Sometimes, it was best to do something you never intended to do. Especially if it meant getting Sherlock Holmes to kiss you.
Please be kind!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Until Next Time...
