Prologue: Reincarnation as Myne
Ever since waking up as Myne, a peasant Soldier's daughter, she was annoyed that she woke up in a medieval world where much of wizarding society will be happy in.
Her family lives on an apartment on the fifth floor. A single space for everyone, and the higher the floor, the cheaper. And her father's salary is 100.000 rions, or 1 large silver coin. And things here are expensive. It was why despite what was a huge salary in her mind, was very cheap and poor by standards in this world.
If in Britain having that kinda salary will net you a large house with classy furniture in five years, here, reality is not so kind.
What made it expensive, is the fact everything here, is handmade. Handmade goods, even in history back home are expensive, long before mass-production by factory made everything cheaper.
Her family is warm, kind and doting...the kind that made Myne able to feel she can endure living in a filthy house.
Her family has no magic.
She does. And doggone powerful its causing her body pain. She could compare herself to a large balloon in constant inflation she will overstretch till she popped.
She must spend some of it. NOW.
Starting with perhaps...getting rid of all sand and grit in the house, and in their bedding while her family is out. Not like they'd notice anyway. And the bed reeks of body odor...because it has not occurred to anyone to take a damn bath every day, only doing so on weekend called Earthday. Everyone's day off.
For soldiers, no such thing as day off. Because city security is on the line, OK?
She has no magic wand, so she used herself as a wand. Due to her condition, she was so saturated with magic! And wandless magic is easier here, compared to Wizarding England due to her own focus and belief, as mind over matter in magic, that logic breaks.
And so, using her powers and her mind, she gathered information about the room she was in to know where much of the stuff is. Then gathered all dust and grit in the bedroom, along with cobwebs and spiders. In absolutely everything, while keeping a thin layer of dust in obvious places to hide that much of the room is clean. She then chucked everything out the window.
By using some of her power, just about enough to fill a saucer with sauce as she was that powerful in her new body she is effectively a water tank by herself.
Not enough. She reached out to the rest of the apartment to clean it...and remove the smell, still not enough!
Healing her damaged body as for one who's age five she's stunted? OK. Spent enough magic to fill a jug of water...so she can now grow normally as days go by she can catch up to children her current age.
THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE!
Apparating to the living space where the kitchen is to gain information about the food present there as vegetables and fruit looks strange as heck?
The most she can do next, is compressing it.
She imagined all her power as fluffy blanket. She folded all that cloth, and removed the air out of it to flatten it some more, and stuff it in a thin box. This effectively made her current magic so dense and concentrated. And she gained free empty space in turn that made her feel better.
But she knows this is a short-term solution. Not a permanent one. New magic will fill the space eventually...but it will take time.
She feels better now though.
"Troublesome...oh well..."
That, and she blended in well while utilizing her acting skills as its impossible for a child to recover so quick from her condition.
Her family has no clue of the true nature behind her constant illness all 'Myne's life'. They also don't know that the real Myne, is dead and she took over.
She felt somewhat guilty about that, but hey, Myne could not withstand her situation, throwing tantrums out of jealousy that her sister Tuuli was strong and healthy unlike her, and could not go past their bed without suffering, and can't eat much food as it hurts to swallow anything, even water. That she understandably died from both power overload and a frail body from sickness and malnutrition...enabling Carwen Potter to take over and become her.
She once thought that due to her situation with the Dursleys, she didn't mind becoming poor if it meant having a family like Ron's. Loving and supportive.
Well...wish granted, she supposed.
She's now poor, but had the family she long wished for.
She was used to being poor anyway, as she never got the chance to enjoy her wealth in life.
