Enobaria Sting, 31, District 2 Female Victor
I sneer after hearing the President's speech. That stupid old geezer putting me back in that cursed arena once more. The first time I volunteered, and it was fun. I got the nickname Vampire because I bit people in the arena. I made 5 kills and I still remember their pained screams. Those screams are what keeps me up at night.
When I first got in the arena, I knew I needed to kill tributes in an unusual way to make me stand out. So that's exactly what I did. I bit people in the neck area, and they bled out fairly quickly. Once I won and got back to the Capital, I had them sharpen my teeth and modify it to resemble shark teeth. It wasn't until after I went back to District 2 that the nightmares started.
The first night I saw the tiny boy from 3 as I tore his throat out and him begging me to stop, the next night it was the girl from 6. She had put up a pretty good fight and even stabbed me in the shoulder but in the end I won. It went on like this for years. That's when I realized the games were not what they were meant to be.
It was meant to bring honor and pride back to your District. That's not what it was though all it brought was death and suffering. There are only 3 victors I can think of that still enjoy the games. Brutus who's a complete animal, Mason who won 10 years ago and never shows emotion, and Lacy who won 5 years ago but unfortunately, she died shortly after she won after getting killed by her District Partner's family who she murdered in cold blood.
That means I can't count on her to volunteer if I get reaped tomorrow. I have no doubt Brutus and Mason are going to battle it out like the animals they are tomorrow.
All I can do is pray I don't get reaped. I walk out of my home after the announcement to clear my head and think. I suddenly bump into my best friend Amber who actually won the games the year before me.
"Hi Amber." I smile. Once she realizes it's me, she smiles back.
"Hey Enobaria." She says. "What have you been up to?" She asked me.
"Nothing much, just scared about these reaping's tomorrow that's all." I tell her as she nods in agreement.
"True, it is very scary." She shudders in fear.
"Well don't worry about it." I smile as I continue. "Whatever happens just know I got your back okay." I give her a thumbs up.
She smiles and nods. "Thanks, Enobaria, I've got your back too. We're like sisters. She smiles again.
"Yes, we are Amber." I say. "Yes, we are."
Brutus Gene, 40, District 2 Male Victor
I let out a roar of happiness! Snow's speech is the best thing I've heard all day. I always wanted to go back in the games and kill more people and this twist gives me a perfect opportunity to. I still remember my last kill, that pathetic girl from 5 as she cried for her mommy and daddy right before I ripped her throat out.
I also killed every single one of the careers with my bare hands including my district partner. They were all weaklings every last one of them. I can't wait to go back in the games and get more fame and glory.
Most of these pathetic victors I don't expect to volunteer tomorrow. Their too soft after having killed 13 and 14 year old children which in my opinion is completely stupid. Who cares about those little rats?
I already know who my main target is going to be when I get in the arena. It's going to be that bitch from 12 who won last year. She shouldn't have won and it's a disgrace that she did. Clove had her pinned and could have easily killed her, but she ran her mouth which allowed the giant from 11 to kill her. Cato also had a chance to kill her but that bitch being the coward she is, shot him with an arrow.
I won't make the same mistake though. This time I'll make sure she dies. I walk out of my mansion and see a bunch of other victors with worried looks on their faces and I can't help but roll my eyes.
These idiots knew what they were signing up for when they volunteered. But I ignore them all and start heading to the district square to get ready for the reaping. Suddenly I bump into another victor Mason. I can't help but growl. I already know he's going to try and volunteer but I won't let him.
"Mason." I growl.
Mason looks at me and smirks. "Brutus." He says with a chuckle.
We glare at each other once more before storming off in different directions.
I get to the district square and mingle around for a couple hours until the rest of the citizens and victors start showing up.
Our escort walks on stage and gives the yearly introductions. Finally, it's time to call the tributes starting with the girls.
"Amber Irving!" Our escort calls.
I know about Amber, she's just another scared little punk who didn't deserve to win. Before Amber can step forward however a voice calls out.
"I Volunteer!"
I look and see that tooth girl Enobaria starts to walk forward. Amber looks like she wants to say something but when Enobaria gives her a look Amber keeps quiet.
Since everyone already knows who she is, the escort doesn't bother asking for a name. Our escort is about to walk towards the male's bowl but that's when me and Mason step forward.
"I volunteer!" We both shout at the same time.
I scowl at him as Mason smirks. Suddenly in rage I charge after him just as Mason does the same. We both lock hands in a test of strength, but I win out in seconds and slam him to the ground as he grunts in pain.
But he suddenly punches me on the side of my head causing me to grunt and loosen my grip. But then I quickly punch him in the chest as hard as I can causing him to scream as he coughs up blood. I think I broke a few of his ribs.
After he's taken away, I stand up and walk next to Enobaria who looks at me in disgust. The escort regains his composure and finally speaks.
"District 2 I give you your tributes for the 75th annual hunger games!" He shouts out.
I just smirk. I will be the victor no matter what. Look out Katniss, I'm coming for you.
