"Urghh, uh! Uh! Ungggg!"

Tonks grunted and tugged with absolutely no luck. You'd think that after all the effort she'd put in that she'd have a little bit of luck. But no. Of course not. Because nothing was going her way these days. Nothing at all. In fact, she couldn't remember the last time something had gone her way. Surely that meant that she was overdue? She felt like that meant she was overdue.

But of course, the universe did work that way because why would it? She glared so hard that she really should have been able to set things on fire with it and tried again.

"Unnng! Urgh!"

Nothing. Actually, it somehow managed to be worse than the last time. How was that even possible?

"Eurgh!" She exclaimed, letting her t-shirt ping back against her body.

It Unang immediately settled halfway up her torso because it didn't go over her stomach. It didn't fit! It wouldn't go over her stomach! Her bump wasn't even that big, her t-shirt should still fit, surely? Well, it was kind of big now. Definitely noticeable as being pregnant as opposed to putting on some weight. Still. Her t-shirt should still fit, in her opinion. It was baggy. Had been baggy. But no. It wasn't doing that.

"It's not fair," she muttered, stretching it out as far as she could.

Maybe if it stretched just a little bit out of shape then it would fit over her bump without riding up. She was willing to distort Gideon Crumb's face if it meant it would stay on her without exposing anything.

That did absolutely nothing except make the whole situation even worse. The t-shirt didn't just stop above her bump, it rose even higher. Great. Just great. This was so stupid.

Remus decided that at that moment it was the best time to walk in. He took one look at her standing in the middle of the room with a shirt rolled up under her boots and nothing but her knickers on her bottom half and looked like he was seriously considering turning on his heel and walking back out the door.

"Remus!" she exclaimed, ensuring that he wouldn't do that.

"Dora!" He returned and looked her up and down. "Er, aren't you getting dressed?"

She didn't know why but that question made her burst into tears. She just about noticed that Remus got an extremely alarmed look on his face before he engulfed her in a hug.

"Hey, hey, what's the matter?" He asked, grabbing her shoulders and pushing her slightly away from him to get a better look at her.

Wordlessly, she shook her head. She didn't know how to put her thoughts into words right now.

"Okay, it's okay. You're okay," he said soothingly, leading her over to her bed to sit down on.

Being all emotional like this sucked big time. She hated these pregnancy hormones. Well, not all of them. The ones that made her feel particularly horny were always welcome but these ones that caused stupid crying jags certainly weren't.

They just made everything seem so big and problematic. And it felt like she couldn't do anything right, couldn't fix those problems. Which was just so frustrating and being frustrated made her cry which made her feel stupid which also made her cry. She hated these stupid hormones. Hated. Hated. Hated them. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

Everything was stupid. Everything sucked. Especially this stupid, stupid shirt she was wearing. Or not wearing. She was definitely not a fan of crop tops. Even less so when said top was supposed to hit her hips but was now all scrunched up under her boobs. Which was uncomfortable, by the way. Very uncomfortable.

"Unggg!" She exclaimed, trying to pull it over her head.

Of course, it wasn't that simple and got caught on her head. Was her head now oddly shaped or something?

"It's more than just the top, isn't it?" He asked quietly as he helped her yank it off, though, he was far more gentle than she had been.

Je handed it to her and she chucked it across the room in disgust. She didn't want to even look at it right now. It betrayed her.

Tonks made a huffing noise and crossed her arms. Of course, it wasn't just the top. It never was just about the top. Everything was frustrating now. Everything! It was frustrating that she was basically useless now because she was freaking pregnant. It was frustrating that some foods tasted weird to her now. It was frustrating that the Order seemed to be getting absolutely nowhere against Voldemort. Wait, no, that was You-Know-Who now because there was a freaking taboo on his name, because of course there was and that was frustrating as well. It was frustrating that they had to lay low and not have some semblance of a normal life. It was frustrating that she needed or felt like she needed to pee way too many times in a day. And yes, it was frustrating that her favourite clothes no longer fit her.

"Yes," she mumbled into his chest.

He started running his hands through her hair in that way he knew that soothed her. She didn't know why it was so soothing, despite her keeping her hair short, but it was and she wasn't going to argue about it.

"Everything's a bit of a mess right now, isn't it?"

"Mmm."

It was but Tonks didn't want to think about that right now. She wanted Remus to continue whatever he was doing because it felt so nice.

"Including this room," he deliberately added, trying to make her laugh.

Which worked. She let out a chuckle. It was a bit wet from her tears but it was still a chuckle.

"Half the problem is all your books," she said, waving her hand at the stack on his nightstand and also the stack (actually, it was two) on the floor on his side of the bed.

"I'm reading those," he defended.

"All of them?"

Even he couldn't read that many at once.

"And to be read," he amended.

"Uh huh."

"They make less mess than your clothes!"

"Which are at least all in one pile!"

Yes, they were on the floor but it was a compact pile.

They both burst into laughter at their complaints. It was just funny.

"You know what we're going to do," Remus finally asked, once they caught their breath. "We're going to go and get you some comfortable shirts that fit. Weird sisters ones. Whatever ones you want and-"

He went on about what they could do to make he feel physically more comfortable but still have her style, including black leggings and wider boots, and Tonks swore her heart grew several sizes just listening to him. Which was silly because he was just talking about clothes but still. She wondered if he knew just how much she appreciated him? Sire, he screwed up, and so did she. But he cared. He genuinely cared. And he was trying to fix his mistakes and move on. She had to appreciate that. She really did.

"So, what do you think of that?" He finished with a question.

There were a few beats of silence as she tried to remember just what he had been saying and coming up blank.

"I think I'm going to start stealing your shirts." she answered finally.

She had seen some of those maternity clothes and they weren't her style at all. Eurgh, no. She'd rather get oversized, normal ones if she could. Also, if she stole Remus', it meant that they smelled like him, which was always a win.

Remus gave her an odd look before he started laughing.
