"Dora, what are you doing?" She just about heard Remus ask as she was pulling the jumper off over her head.

It was one of Remus' because one, she was not the type of person to own woolly jumpers and two, because earlier she had decided that she was cold. That was not the case now.

"Taking your jumper off me, what does it look like I'm doing?" She repeated as it pulled free of her head.

"Aren't you cold? The house hasn't heated up yet."

They had woken this morning to a freezing cold house due to a dramatic temperature drop last night. There was actually ice on the ground and frost so thick you could mistake it for snow. It had not been like that last night. In fact, it had been quite pleasant, for early winter anyway. They only had basic warming charms set up and they hadn't thought to bank the fire last night to keep some residual heat throughout the house. They had definitely regretted that this morning.

Sure, they cast the standard house warming charms this morning but those took a while to feel their full effects. In the meantime, they had taken to drinking a lot of hot drinks (which unfortunately for her did not include coffee anymore) and layering up. Which worked just fine, they warmed up and the house warmed up.

That was the problem actually. The heat. Which sounded stupid, she knew, considering how cold they had been earlier but now she was hot. Far too hot.

"I'm so warm," she said, looking around her and frowning at the cheerfully roaring fire.

It was too warm for that, surely? She was sweating here! And seriously contemplating removing her shirt and going around in just her bra. Maybe that way she'd actually feel some cool air.

"Warn?"

"Yes, warm. Sweltering, actually."

Why did they even have the house at this temperature? It was ridiculous.

"Are you feeling, okay?" Remus asked in concern, pressing his hand to her forehead.

She batted it away. "I'm fine. I'm just warm."

"No nausea or dizziness?"

"No."

"Headache? Any ache?"

She shook her head. "No."

She was just warm. Very warm. And desperately wanted to be cooler.

"You're probably not sick then," he said thoughtfully. "A pregnancy symptom?"

"Does it matter?" She asked irritably.

Which was uncalled for but in her defence, she really didn't deal with heat very well. It made her feel all ick. She didn't like feeling like that. And she got enough of feeling like that currently what with the morning sickness and general feeling of, you know, growing a whole other person inside of her. And her and this whole other person were too warm. Which was just an icky feeling too far.

"I need to open a window," she said, looking for the nearest one.

It was just behind the sofa. The one that Remus always had to be the one to open or close if they did it without magic because of the weird angle you had to position yourself at to unlatch it and the fact that she was short. Needless to say, she rarely opened that window. Even by magic.

"Please don't," Remus said, moving to block her way.

"It's too warm!"

"It's barely warm het," he argued.

"Look, I might be pregnant," she put her hands on her hips. "But I can still kick your arse, Remus Lupin. Now let me open the window."

But he didn't move.

"I'm not denying your ability to beat me in a fight but I highly doubt you can manoeuvre yourself to open the window without injuring yourself so please don't."

"But you aren't going to do it."

"I'm not," he agreed. "Because I know I run warm at the best of times and even for me this house is not properly warmed up yet do it can't be too warm."

Warm was starting to not sound like a word anymore.

"Well, I'm warm."

"Because you were wearing my jumper," Remus said logically. "Give it a few minutes and you'll cool down."

"But I'm not cooling down."

"You will, just give it time."

"I don't want to wait."

Did she sound like a stroppy toddler? Yes. Did she care? No.

"What about a cold drink?" He coaxed.

"No."

She didn't want a cold drink, she wanted a cool breeze blowing through the house, dammit!

Then she froze. Just stopped all of a sudden.

"What, what is it?" Remus asked in a worried tone. "Are you okay? Do you feel anything weird?"

"Shh!" She said, flapping her arms at him.

"What?"

Did he not hear her? She told him to be quiet! Honestly...

There it was again! Her eyes widened. What was it?

"I felt something!" She hissed.

That what was weird! She felt something! Inside of her!

"You... felt something?" Remus asked in confusion. "Like, you had a vision or something?"

What was she, a Seer? No! She shook her head and pointed to her stomach.

"Don't be daft! I felt something here!"

"In your stomach?" He asked unsurely.

"Yes, well, my womb technically, I suppose."

"Your wo- you mean you can feel the baby?" He asked excitedly.

It was adorable the way his whole face lit up at that thought. His hand even reached out to touch her stomach but then he stopped. Tonks gave him a confused look.

"Can I feel?" He asked shyly and she swore her heart melted a little bit right there.

"Of course."

The speed at which his hand was on her stomach was almost comical.

"I can't feel anything," he said in dismay after a few seconds, hand moving all around her stomach.

"Well, I can barely feel it," she said logically. "So, I don't think you would be able to."

"Not even a little bit?"

He looked so upset that he couldn't feel it that Dora had to giggle. She felt sorry for him, she really did because although it was weird, it was also wonderful and awe-inspiring. Mostly weird though. It didn't feel like there was anything moving in there. Not really. It was more like a fizzing or popping or something? It was really weird. Really, really weird.

And really, really faint. Like, she could barely feel them faint. It was only because they happened again that she knew she wasn't imagining things. There was no way Remus would be able to feel them.

"Sorry, no."

And now he was pouting. Which, as always, was adorable.

"What does it feel like?"

He was watching her stomach like it was going to visibly move or something. Now that would be weird. Weirder even than this. No, she didn't think she'd be at to deal with that ever happening. She was barely wrapping her head around the fact that there was a baby that was developed enough to move inside of her.

"Like little bubbles?" She ventured.

That wasn't quite it but it was the closest thing she could think of. It wasn't like she'd ever had bubbles fizzing away inside her to compare to two feelings.

"Bubbles? Really?"

She nodded vigorously. "Bubbles."

"Huh." He looked pretty stumped at that one. "That's odd."

"It feels odd," she reassured him.

He broke into a massive smile and engulfed her in a hug. Woah. She had not been expecting that.

"You felt our baby!" He said happily.
